I’m amazed that they claim there is no research evidence for lowered starch and sugars in the diet being beneficial. The research programnes some of us have linked to here are in many cases large scale and at least as decisive, if not more so, than the original research programmes on low fat high carb. These are people who appear not to be keeping up with the science, surprisingly. Michael Eades and others have a lot to say abou “Confirmation Bias”, ie that you pick up only the information you want to hear.
I wonder what Professor Roy Taylor would have to say to these colleagues comments about lack of evidence? He has done well-regarded studies, Diabetes UK are considering changing their advice after his research for them and The Blood Sugar Diet is based on his work, which did not spring from nowhere either. His papers are peer reviewed and reference the research of others too. Wise man, he’s not entering the arena.
