  • By the way, the Title of the book is.. THE FAST DIET…LOSE WEIGHT, STAY HEALTHY, LIVE LONGER….it says it all in the title 🙂 …CG

CatherineOO it could actually be the weight of the Konjac noodles in your tummy still – apparently they have great water absorbing qualities and slow the emptying of the stomach, which works to keep you fuller for longer and keep you thinner but not to have the scales tell you that! (Quite prepared to hear this is a ridiculous suggestion – it’s just a thought with no scientific understanding whatsoever! :))

CG, I cannot agree more with you. Someone like me, who has a congenital heart disease, due for an open heart surgery / valve replacement in 3 months (at age of 33) should be very concerned about the health.
People are scared of heart problems and here I am struggling with one.
Six months back when I had an appointment with specialist, I was at 85 kgs. The look in the eyes of cardiologist was so sharp that it could have killed me of embarrassment.

I was not a soda drinker at that time as well. I only drink diet soda to get me through a fast day. Has it helped me…. Yes yes yes.

I am 11 kgs lighter now and the rhythmic function of my heart has improved. I still need a surgery but day by day 5:2 is getting me ready to come into a reasonable weight range to get through that surgery. Although I do believe that everything in moderation is very very important.
I dont eat fast foods like Mc Donalds, Hungry Jacks or KFC, as in my opinion, they are very very unhealthy with no nutritional value at all. My opinion- these fast foods do more harm than good to human body. But again, if eaten in moderation, I dont see that as a problem.

I am very sorry Aussie Determinators for the whinge and analogy, but I am sensitive to the topic when it comes to “taking care of your own health” as I have a very big road in front of me. sob sob sob!!!

ha h aha hahah h Rocksy, I hear ya. I have the same belief as you re: Konjac noodles…. 🙂
    Thanks for making me smile

FB I know where your coming from and it’s not whinging, it’s fact. I have not taken any anti inflammatory drugs for 6 weeks, for pain relief I take a couple of panadole, but only if needed! Not carrying as much weight = less discomfort on my spine. My surgeon gave me the same look when talking surgery on my spine. Oh I’m so looking forward to seeing him in Feb hopefully 20k lighter, saw him in June (waiting lists are over the top) Fast food are something “new” to my generation, so never been a problem, plus being in the country, too far to go..fish and chip were our treat, when we could afford them! You hang in there FB, you are doing so well, and we are all behind you when the time comes for your op….CG 😆 …xxxx

Pree well done! The 10 minute rule has got me through many food problems…..So proud of you!!

FAST DAY today and I have been busy gardening since 5.30am this morning. It is a beautiful sunny 25C today here in Perth…had about 2 litres of water and rooibos tea so far. Not felt hungry…..It 12noon here in Perth and I have boiled egg and salad lined up for later, and I might take a spin on the exercise bike later….Hang in there all on fast

    !WE CAN DO IT!!

See you for weigh in tomorrow….

Hi there. New to this WOE. Started between Christmas and New Years. I am from Queensland and need to lose around 18kg. I have lost 1kg so far after four fast days. I am finding it really tough while on holidays. Hopefully it will get easier when I go back to work.

Hi Mummak and welcome, it will definitely become easier, 5:2 woe becomes a habit, you unconsciously opt for better choices in what you eat, your meal sizes shrink because you find you don’t need as much, your body tells you ( if you listen ) that you are full, and of course once back at work, your routine back in place, it will just flow for you. Your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will take over, routine is often better for us all…good luck..CG xx

Afternoon Team and to The AUSSIE DETERMINATION guide to travelling…. My goodness so much activity on our post today.

The problem with diet “soft drink” is the sodium & carbohydrate content in them. IT is high…any one who suffers from cardiac symptoms should lessen the intake if on low salt restriction. FB is careful of her intake. Diabetics also have to be careful of how much to consume. Everything in moderation. Even sparkling soda has its pitfalls.

Remember ….we are all STILL finding our feet with 5:2 no matter how long we have been on it. Ask yourself the question WHY ARE YOU DOING IT? hopefully the correct answer is because it is going to facilitate an improvement in my health if I suffer from hypertension, asthma, diabetes……. or are you just wanting to lose the weight…. the weight is the BONUS!. Health is the most important option.

Whislt I was away I was having my coffee with soy milk , really enjoyed it & felt full. It has a low GI & is high in photoestrogens & calcium good for bone density. In my profession I have rarely come across an asian client with osteoporosis. Why do you think Asian women do not suffer from menopuse symptoms like we westeners? they have soy in almost all the meals.

And sorry to say this (& you know I don’t follow this)For any diet to work effectively YOU DON’T HAVE ALCOHOL because of its sugar content.

I do sincerely hope I have not offended anyone. This is my opinion which is based on several years of study….. if you feel I’ve got it wrong I am open to your opinions & corrections in my thinking as well.

Enough…. I had a great fast day today and really enjoyed it … had my boiled egg and sip on my green tea fruit infusion…. I feel great Enjoy your evening . see you at the weigh in……….GO GAL

Today my total cal intake is 230cals. Sounds low but unintentional, but don’t need more. How?
Breakfast home brewed espresso + light milk (cappuccino)= 30
    Lunch? 2.30 another white espresso (cappuccino)= 30
Mid arvo 1 can Zero coke =0
    Dinner, chicken breast- 114
    Coleslaw – 56
    Mayo light – 8
    = 178
Snack- zero coke – o (awfully hot and muggy, water not cutting the thirst)
White espresso (cappuccino)30 tonight for supper
    Total…289 cals, so so easy,
Up at 5.30am, fed stock, watered green houses, re did a feature barrow, and planter, exercise bike, shower, vac’ed, washed floors, all with air on of course… So busy, not thinking of food, 2 litres of water drunk before lunch time, so muggy, sweaty weather, reorganised fridge, cook a chicken for the boy’s….no time to think of food, only thirst. Sitting now, dinner shortly, almost had a whiskey earlier but stopped myself…be interesting at my weigh in tomorrow…How did your fast go?…CG xxx

Sorry GG we crossed paths as we posted..CG xx

Sorry team, typo again… 289 cals for the day…apologies…CG 😉 xx

Thanks for the support CG. 🙂

I’m always cold on FDs. I get cold hands and feest easily anyway so it’s a given for me. My family even gave me touchpad gloves so I can worm on my laptop without getting iced fingers (not the delicious kind lol). Cherrypit cushions are stapel here. It’s usually not hunger that jeeps me awake at night but cold. But the Cherry pit cushion and a good blanket really solve that.

Also, how did we get to page 34 already? O_o mind-boggling!

Hi FC, yes it’s great isn’t it also 5th on most popular, we have grown so quickly with an incredible team, thank you for your input today too, 🙂 no ideas to help keep warm sorry, other than warm drinks or a hot bath/shower but that isn’t always convenient
    Take care…CG xx

Had my blood results today and BP etc. my Doctor was so impressed as my cholesterol was down, BP was down, everything was so good. Also he was impressed with my weight loss as I have had a weight problem since I had children 35 years ago.
It gives me the incentive to keep going. My weight didn’t change this week but that is OK.
Hope y all had a super day.

Wonderful news, check your measurements too, often they alter if the scales don’t but either way, you are healthier….CG xx

Dropped in at the doc surgery where I use the scales today. It looks like something is going on even though the tape measure is steady. I am 3.6kg lighter than I was at the beginning of December. I certainly don’t feel any different and my clothes don’t feel looser. Who knows where the weight is going. Good news anyway.

Hi all, i tried to post earlier but it crashed on me so here goes again..
Diet soft drink – no, not good for you but if it gets you through then have one. I have a can of pepsi max sometimes, i have one stashed at work in case, and its still there so if i dont need it… I dont have it. In one of Mimi’s books she says ok, if it gets you through the day, but of course it isnt recommended. I would never say have 6 diet cokes instead of 6 glasses of water, it all boils down to what someone else said…
    Moderation
That is the key, nothing is good for you in excess.
Take for example sodium! On soup i bought was real low in cals but had 45% of daily sodium. No i didnt have it, i see a lot of people use forzen meals, also usually high in sodium.. But if thats what people need to do to keep below 500 its their choice. Thats why this WOL works because it isnt totally rigid and prescriptive.
Cheese on fast days.. Baby bocconini is great, i cut it into small pieces in my fast day salad. Cottage cheese is also good. I wouldnt recommend low fat ricotta etc, usually the fat is replaced by sugar.
THE book.. The key thing i learned from that is focus on Plants & Protein, im sure any of us who have done this for a while would attest to the filling and calorie bonus of leafy greens and other non starchy veg when counting up to 500 for the day.
Also, if you are just starting at the kilos arent dropping, then just stick with it they will eventually, it took about 5 weeks for me
I think thats all for now.. Been great reading everyones stories keep up the determination people!

    Good morning everyone

Another 500grams down this morning. So can you believe I have lost 3kg since Sunday after my Christmas blowout. Only got 500grams to go. Smashed under the 110kg again.

Everyone is doing so well. I am so proud and happy to read every post, and everyone’s opinions and agree with most.

Fast day yesterday cup of soup chicken not my favourite again what you do for fast days will do a cook up over weekend for home made soups, and Mexican chicken tenders steggles brand two and peas and corn for dinner. Mid afternoon I had a few cherries. So no brekky again for the second time. I am home though so may try no brekky next Monday for a work day.

So strange no having brekky I wasn’t hungry but is it just a habit, or something the brekky cereals have promoted over time to increase sales. Have you looked at the cereals most are dressed up to be healthy but certainly are not.

Hope everyone has a great day.

We can do this. This is the best program ever.

    So 29kg to go.

My results are modest but solid and have finally started moving down again.
Half a kilo since last week.

Good morning team, isn’t it great on a open forum getting so many opinions out there. That’s the beauty of being part of a team, we are made up of individuals with different opinions – democrocy at work – and as always, the choice, decision is still yours. We all have different tastes, likes, and needs. Putting your ideas on our thread is a way of sharing, and if members take up suggestions, or ideas it’s great as we all did with the 5:2 program, but many others feel “it’s not for them” and poo hoo it, so it’s all the right of the individual.
My first weigh in this morning, straight out of bed, will weigh again later after toilet visit and body fluids settle but…82.3k so off the plateau BUT……39cm loss off my torso including 20cm off the belly fat-waist, yahoooooo, so that’s the real idea behind 5:2, getting that dangerous fat to go So even though I have been stuck on 83k for weeks the body/5:2 was still at work and this WOE proving how well it works.
Have a great day team, enjoy what ever you do and don’t sweat the small stuff, life is too short 🙂 …CG xx

    Morning everyone……. WEIGH IN DAY!

    SW 15/9/14 82.2kgs….. GW 75kgs by 15/12/14……CW 9/1/15 73.8kgs!
Total loss of 8.4 kgs over 17 weeks.

I’m very pleased ….even with Christmas blow outs and plateues the loss is continuing. This morning I put on my work shorts and did not undo the button or the zipper….. . My thyroid nodule is also decreasing in size…. something is happening.

Wishing you all pleasing results today . LET YOU AUSSIE DETERMINATION WORK FOR YOU , YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!…..GO GAL

Well done, everyone! I can’t really weigh in yet, it’s only 10pm here. I have a night’s sleep ahead of me, still.

    Wow CG, 20cm? That’s a huge difference!

Bali, how fast is that weight coming off you? Well done.

Uptightoutasight, 500g is a lot for a week, congrats!

Wow, GG, almost 10kg gone forever. And in such a short amount of time. You’re such a go-getter (which also abbreviates as GG, go figure 🙂 ).

Robbie, I like soft goat’s cheese, filling and low cal (for cheese, at least), I put in my courgette/onion scrambled eggs. And a bit of parmesan every now and again. But we always have loads because our dear landlady (and neighbour) travels to Italy once a year and her sister goes several times (her children live there) so we get parmesan and other fresh Italian specialties several times a year. It’s hard to get through so much parmesan (it’s always a kg) but I’d hate to run out one day. A fresh batch of parmesan or a well aged salami is something I could never say no to.

I had some lovely parsnip/carrot puree with some lean meat today. It tasted lovely but it didn’t fill me up as much as I’d thought it would. But it has magically warmed me up, and my hands are very warm (even without the touchpad gloves lmao).

Hoping to keep my weekend splurging down a bit. Tomorrow I’m doing a trial run of my peek-a-boo battenberg cake for a dinner party I’m hosting in a week or 2. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2852685/peekaboo-battenberg-cake But I’m doing it with a quarter of the recipe so we don’t go overboard. On Sunday, it’s my mum’s birthday and we’ve decided to do pancake day. So we’ll be making different types of savoury and sweet pancakes/blinis, all flavours/fillings we’ve never eaten before. So I’ll be filling up on veg and lean protein for the rest of the weekend because Monday is sausage roll and apple ball day. Haha, oh dear, January is almost as heavy on my tummy as December.

Anyway, can’t wait for my weigh-in tomorrow. Keep it going, you guys!

    Good morning Aussie Determination!
What a busy few days! Each day, after work, I’d pop in to have a read and chat, but so much happening, couldn’t keep up!
Welcome to AD all you lovely newbies, hope you are all still here, hanging in by your hungry little teeth!
Anyway, I’m so much better doing 5:2 when in some sort of routine. Back to work is something I wouldn’t usually look forward to, but Christmas is just ridiculous concerning bad food. I think next year I’ll make it completely different . A happy healthy Christmas! Buy lots of special healthy food instead of chocs and fudge etc etc, that we feel guilty about. Prawns, watermelon, salmon, mangoes, lots of special food without the cals.
Anyway after the weight rollercoaster, went from 63kg on the 12 Dec up to 65.1 after CMas! Today down to 62.5!
62 was my Christmas goal… almost made it…
Still want to get to my March goal of 58. For my height 153, 55 is the most I should be. ^0^
    Did someone mention KFC!
When I was a kid this American man in a red suit introduced us to Kentucky Fried Chicken…We got to have some on our birthdays! Fast food has become too normal for this generation…no wonder they are obese and always broke!
On a lighter note, good luck at weigh in all, Go AUSSIE GO! DETERMINATION ALL THE WAY!

    First week on the diet!
Was horrified after Xmas to discover I had put on 3 kg and had already had weight creep over the past 6 months!
So, after trying to restrict calories on and off for over a year, decided to try this!
Weight on Monday 85.3, weight today, morning after second fast day, 81.5kg.
I know, I know, it’s probs water weight and now I have 2 non fast days, with alcohol, but still encouraging!
Will have another week of it then…….2 week holiday in Thailand!
That’s going to be impossible to maintain, I’m there to enjoy!
Might have to break then go back on 5 2 when I get home – thoughts?

    Hi
Up till now I’ve been fasting from evening meal to evening meal but in the book it is suggested to try 2pm to 2pm the next day so that most of the fast time is overnight.
Does anyone do it that way?
I’m trying to imagine how that would work.
    For example:
    Monday: Normal breakfast
    Normal lunch
    Begin fast at 2pm
    Low (or no) cal dinner
Tuesday: Low (or no) cal breakfast
Low (or no) cal lunch (in other words divide the 500 cals between the three ` meals by perhaps skipping one altogether)
    End fast at 2pm
    Normal dinner

Has anyone tried that method and how did they find it?

Rixies well done, thai food is really healthy, depending on choices of course. The alcohol is the weight gainer and hard to limit on holidays. You might surprise yourself, others have whilst on holidays, your way of eating is still with you subconsciously so still helps with choices…good luck
    Great news Linda congratulations
FC, yes 20cm is a huge amount and it was the tummy I carried most of my fat. I put new shortie jammies on last night with a tightish singlet top, thought, golly I can really see the difference(I usually wear loose fitting close) in my weight so measured, had a real surprise/shock but 20 loss is since Sept when I first started 5:2 so it is working incredibly well for me
So team, the scales are not the only true picture of your 5:2 journey….CG xx

GG well done, great result for you..CG xx

Hope you gals don’t mind if I join in here too – it’s great to talk to Aussies and you are all so supportive and positive!

Hi knit, I’ve done it a few times, to be able to fast but not have it interfere with my social life. I quite like it. I think I did noon to noon. The few times I tried it, it didn’t have a negative effect on my weight loss (I didn’t lose less all of a sudden or something) and it weirdly felt like I din’t fast at all. I enjoyed it, actually. I didn’t continue to do it on a regular basis because I was afraid of getting complacent with the rules after a while and I quite like the post-fast feeling I get on Tuesdays and Fridays. But it definitely works for me when I don’t have 36hrs in a stretch available for a full FD. For me, it cust down the fast time with 12 hrs (24 instead of 36).

    I do:

    Day 1
late breakfast/brunch (with my morning coffee)
    no lunch
    lowcal/fast dinner + 100ml milk with espresso

Day 2 (depending on social plans)
no food or coffee till after 12. Then eat regularly again.
    or
no food or coffee till dinner. Then eat regularly again.

Also did this on my birthday last year. It fell on a Monday so I stopped eating at 7pm on Sunday, didn’t eat anything on Monday during the day and then had Syrian take-out that night. Didn’t put on any weight that week.

    Good Morning AD’s
    Good Morning dogs

And well done everyone for your losses, Bali, Linda, CG, GG, Uptight, awesome awesome efforts and weight loss. Here I am high fiving for all of Aussie Determinators. Mimsneworld, that’s very good news.
Rixies, your first week loss is amazing. You are right that most of it is water weight in first weeks, however the key is to maintain it and it becomes real weight loss. Clap claps claps for your efforts. 😉
Linda, I like that figure in 60’s. Hope I can get there some day too….

My weigh in day is tomorrow as I finish week 14 tomorrow (saturday) Hubby is doing quiet well as he is done with two fasts for first week and he is already eating fresh fruit and veggies that he would never try otherwise. He calls me his coach now. I really hope that he loses some weight in first week to maintain my status as a “Coach” for hubby …LOL

Fast day for me today. Enjoyed my morning cappuccino and plan to have dinner now. rest of the day will be fruit/herbal teas and may be a coke Zero if hunger pangs strike.

GG (Mum), thanks for mentioning that I am aware of what I am putting into my body. Thanks for your kind words CG, really appreciate it.

I love Friday weigh in news, keep it coming team and I will make sure to report mine and hubby’s tomorrow… Everyone, Well Done!!!

Hello again, I just saw this post on my face book 5:2 link. I hope it works…

Just a little light humour ‘Twas the month after Christmas & all through the house, nothing would fit me not even a blouse. The stuffing i’d nibbled the turkey I’d taste, the yummies I’d eaten had gone straight to my waist. The wine & the mince pies, the bread & the cheese…I should have said “no thank you, please”…So as I dressed myself in my husbands old shirt, I couldn’t believe my bottom & belly…the girth!

I said to myself, as only I can” you can spend the year disguised as a man!” So away with the last of the sour cream dip , get rid of the fruitcake every cracker and chip. Every last bit of food that I like must be banished ’til all the additional ounces have vanished. I won’t have a cookie not even a lick, instead I’ll chew on a celery stick. I won’t have Irish coffee, chocolate or pie…I’ll munch on a carrot and quietly cry; “I’m hungry, I’m lonesome, & life is a bore-but isn’t that what January’s for?” Unable to giggle, no longer a riot, Happy New Year to all & to all a good diet.

    Yes! It did work!
Thought you all might like a giggle 🙂
Fatbuster, I like your little cartoon things, I tried to do one on NYE but didn’t work. Well done to Hubby too! “coach”! You are lucky to have him on board and supporting you 🙂

Hi Linda, so funny, so true
    FB, well done “coach”
Well my official weigh in .is.. 82.000000k Never to return to that 83k plateau, I do zigzag but hoping to Zag down rather than Zig up. Making a mental note, my next mini goal is 78k-75k by Easter, it may seem slow but a lot quicker than the weight went on, my AUSSIE DETERMINATION will see me through. So that’s 12k down since beginning of Sept on 5:2 WOE and WOL, but 39cm gone forever too, that to me is more important than the weight actually, as it was FAT the bad FAT 😉 so gone forever…
Give us your news team… CG xxxx

Hi all. Down to 105.1kg this morning, that’s almost 5kg since Dec 1 (5 1/2 weeks). So pleased :). Big thumbs up to all of you (too numerous to name) for all your great efforts, imagine if we weren’t doing this WOL where we would all be … for me probably looking at 120kg by now. It seems if I’m not doing anything like this I’m gaining weight.

GG, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism with a toxic nodule back in Feb 2013. Was on Carbimazole for 18 months then had the radioactive iodine treatment around 6 months ago. For the last 4 months my levels have all been in normal range. I saw the specialist for what I hope is the last time yesterday. He said it all seems to have worked and that he was handing my care back to my GP to have blood tests every 6 months for the next 2 years. My thyroid nodule is still there but slowly decreasing in size; most people don’t even see it any more. Just thought I’d mention it as it seems you may be on a similar path.

Anyway, fast day for me today, doing 16:8 (16 hrs fast: 8 hrs eating window) started at 7PM last night so will not think about food until 11AM. AUSSIE DETERMINATION will do it for me. All the best all those who are fasting with me today.

Hi All,You are all doing so well and Ive had a really good week too after 2 fast days. Ive lost the 1.2Kg I put on over Christmas and 2 weeks away on holidays. We are having people over on the weekend and hubby has already made the mini pavlovas for dessert 🙁 so i will try and eat little during the day and Im watering down my wine!! Linda- that did make me laugh.

GG1, I’m so pleased for you, not only with such a great loss, but the fact your health is improving. The 5:2 WOL is a wonderful double whammy! Feel proud, you deserve it. 🙂 take care…CG xx

Judy on non fast days you can eat “normally” but make your serve a lot smaller and obviously you food choices help, because we have a buffet on Xmas day at my daughters it made it so easy just to pick what I wanted and the amount, even the pudding, I asked for just a slither. It was the treats at home, chocolate etc that got me in trouble…have a lovely day.. CG xx

Yeah Flemish, goats cheese is great too… How lucky for you getting that fabulous produce from italy, yum!
The other one i forgot was 80% philly i use that to make a cheese sauce with a bit of water
    Cheese…. Is grate.
    🙂

Hi everyone, loving the poems and pictures and all the posts! Same same again, a little bit less than Christmas blow out. Although I have just had breakfast! Two Pilates classes down this week and looking forward to next week. Have a great weekend all. X Reldz

Hi FC, thanks for your insight into fasting from 2pm to 2pm. As you mentioned my mental calculation would be that it wouldn’t feel much like fasting because most of the time I would be asleep. It’s just gone 2pm here so I’m going to give it a go this week and see how I find it.
Here’s hoping it will add to the 3.6kg I’ve lost since before Christmas even though the tape measure won’t budge.

    Hi all!
I am new to the 5:2 (week 3, and I have lost about a kilo and half so far but its up and down – week 1: 1 kilo, Week 2, .0, Week 3, .5). I am glucose intolerant and my endocronoligst recommended this diet / life plan. I have to lose another 15 kilos to get to a BMI of 22!!. So maybe another year for it happen?
Thank you all for the wondeful support in the forum where I had been lurkin’ and readin’ for past week LOL.
My main two issues at the moment – sleeplessness on day 2 of fasting and the craving for food when I come off the fast.
I am keeping a food diary and am within the daily limit on calories, hopefully over the next year will see long-lasting results. No other diet has worked long-term for me yet. sigh
Keep up the good work everyone! Its so encouraging to hear your victories and challenges.

Hi all, so many great results today from so many Aussie Determinators. As young Mr Grace said: “You’ve all done very well!”

My fast days are Monday & Wednesday so weighed in yesterday and back to the fasting Monday. Went to my GP today for a regular check-up. Last time I saw her we discussed my starting the 5:2. She didn’t have any patients doing it at the time but likes the concept and was supportive and very interested to see how I go.

Seriously good drop in blood pressure which is a fantastic result and adds to the weight loss. Seeing her again in March so just before then I’m going to have the full “bloods” done – including fasting glucose – to compare with my results half-way through 2014 (I was knocking on the door of borderline type 2 diabetes).

FB with you as his coach, your hubby is sure to do well in the 5:2 world. Thumbs up all round.

Hi everyone.Hope you having a great day!

@welcome Rixies,Lotus and Mummak. So glad you could join us! I look forward to your posts.WE ARE A DETERMINED BUNCH OF AUSSIES!!

Weigh in today! This is fast day 5 for 2015 for me.
Lost .300g this week ..and 4cm all over. Its moving in the right direction!

LOVE the post FAST Feeling…didn’t feel like eating today.Could do B2B fast as this feels too easy today.Or I can have my 3rd fast tomorrow…..so many choices.

I have struggled with the fast in the last few weeks…feels like I am starting all over again. The 2 week Christmas break food didn’t do my weight/health any good.I am definitely rethinking my food choices for next Christmas season….or should I wait and see how quickly the damage is undone???
    !
So many great posts! What a lot of inspiring stories proving we are on the right track!…… Veggie

Thanks all for approving me to be hubbys coach…..it is for the first time in life that he follows each and everything that I tell him (food related) ha hah aha.
Hope he sees some results on scales tomorrow to remain motivated 🙂

Linda, thanks but I think I learnt to post these smilies from someone in the forum. I love these moving cartoons…

GG1, well done 5 kilos kicked off. And yes, I am fasting today with you 🙂

Reldz, a bit less than Christmas blowout is good news!!!

Thanks for your kind words Andrew, like always I was “awwwwwwing” when I read your post. and big thumbs up at getting good results on blood pressure.

Welcome Lotus123. I think we all “lurked” for a while. You’ll find we’re all supportive and positive. You’ve made a great start. I’m sure you’ve read from our posts that everyone has different ways of doing things and different results week-to-week. But again welcome. Your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will get you there.

Hi, Veggie, just wrote over your post. Isn’t it amazing, how quickly we get used to eating? But you are out of it and comfortable with fasts now and thats really good. I am struggling with today’s fast, Dont know Why…….

And Welcome Lotus. Hope you will find this group supportive. You are already tracking the right way with 1.5 kgs loss in 3 weeks.

FB, I am struggling a little too. Usually having “brunch” at around noon with protein in it staves off the hungries but they are biting today. I’m having another large iced tea. Perhaps for me it’s the smell of dinner cooking in the crockpot (bolognaise – 240 cals which I’ll have with konjac spaghetti later on). Keep fighting with AUSSIE DETERMINATION!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome 🙂 Yes, Aussie Determination will win!! After a

Trolling thru the forum, I think my problem with overeating on the “morning after” after the fast is to do with carbs (toast, bacon and egg damper etc. etc…). Maybe if I just had an omellete first thing, I won’t feel hungry till lunchtime?
Went for a walk yesterday on harbour bridge, and stupidly tripped – so can’tdo HIT or anything strenous for a week. grrr
Plan for next week, which I am writing down here to keep me honest lol
    Sun Lunch about 2 PM
    nothing after that
Monday Lunch (hopefully I can hold out until until that time): big bowl of spinach dal (spinach and red lentils with spices and ginger)- about 250-300 cals, but its really filling
Monday night: Glass of hot low-fat milk with cinnamon to (hopefully) help me sleep.
Tuesday AM: Break the fast with an omellete and coffee at about 8:30 am…
Wed, normal with lunch at 2:00 PM
Fast after that until Thursday 2:PM : Chicken breast plus spicy carrot and bean sprout salad – about 400 cals
Thursday night: Glass of hot low-fat milk with cinnamon to (hopefully) help me sleep.
Friday – break the fast with… Maybe the eggwhite and smoked salmon stack that the local cafe makes. not sure 🙂
