  • Hi everyone I am male, over 6 feet tall, I live in, Manchester, England, I like going to watch football, speedway, ice hockey and have just started going to rugby union, I have an 8 year old German Shepherd, and I am trying to go swimming 3 times a week, haven’t managed it yet but have been twice up to now this week. Monday is my weigh in day, but only every two weeks, so I am due this coming Monday.

Morning all ๐Ÿ˜€ had a good long sleep last night until 3:30am (darn neighbour again!! but at least he only warmed it up for 8 mins this time). Had another 2 hour sleep after that and felt much better (I went into a really deep sleep, thankfully FitBit woke me up).

SAMM hoping you and your wife have a better day today.

Wee so sorry to hear re your B-I-L that’s so very sad for all concerned.

Have to keep moving today … so much to do because I went to bed so early last night (most unusual for me to be in bed before 9pm but I was so tired from the previous night’s disturbed sleep I just couldn’t stay awake)

Brads we have several GSD’s of ages varying from 3. 5mths through 10 years. Got to love them ๐Ÿ˜€

AO 5kg mini goals really are big goals arenโ€™t they and under our previous regimes and false starts on other weight loss programs to have a 5kg loss would have been MAJOR however with the 5-2 and IF itโ€™s only time or rate of loss multiply over time? Amazing really I donโ€™t want be that guy who sayโ€™s if I can do it anyone can do it as I really hate or strongly dislike that marketing woohaa but that said it works there is nothing to sell ok off soap box now ๐Ÿ˜ณ Amazon Pilates crikey I think I should put together a list of things I have NOT yet done here is six to get the ball rolling 1) not yet had a massage 2) been to a chiropractor 3) had acupuncture 4) joined a gym 5) had a sauna 6) or left Australia oh boy what have I been doing ๐Ÿ˜† Welcome aboard the fast tracking train Brads27 this is the right place for you no worries keep on keeping on mate Jojo my Uncle lasted out till 36 before he got married y-fees dad was 34 her mum was 18 she just 16 when they got together oh dear lord and much fuss made of that was the word I get and no they did not have to although allegedly a honeymoon child she was hmmm ๐Ÿ˜‰ eating salad and full of beans you guys are awesome in the UK and Weemam sending peace and love tough times for you guys im sure and yes this is the only forum for me and quite strange why this is so actually when there are other aussie only and a raft of others but I studied the form and picked this one because this suits me and makes me feel good about being me ๐Ÿ˜ฏ Nama joined a gym? yep Nama joined a gym to me sounds just like that ad on telly they bought a jeep yes they bought a jeep or the coles everyday yes everyday wow fantastic not bad for someone not keen on exercise you go girlfriend ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ok best look like Iโ€™m busy doing something ๐Ÿ˜†
    Happy fast day friends
    Peace RT

    Hello Fters
Sorry, Wee, about your bad news.

Poor AO and your disturbed sleep.
Welcome Brads. I go swimming and love it.

You are a long-married group in general. I can’t claim the same fame. Yesterday we celebrated our 3 years of marriage. In fact we forgot and my daughter reminded us!
We didn’t forget my birthday last Sunday. A great celebration with the NZ family.

It’s turned cold in Wellington with a southerly storm yesterday. I am going to the pool later where the temperature will be 27ยฐ. It’s an outdoor summer pool and it’s strange to feel the rain on the back while swimming.

I am now going back to ADF, so weekends will be included. So next Wednesday when I meet you, Bayleaf, it will not be a FD.

    Good fasting.
    XX Wiwi

It’s warm today 9c,i work nights so I am up while you Aussies are, I think, are you 13 hours in front? Roll on summer fed up of being cold and wet, watching football on TV before I go to work

Forgot to say I will have been married for 40 years this year, we are going on a cruise to celebrate

Couldn’t agree with you more RT
I find what’s doable for me that equals success and multiply it over time.
Only have to to keep on keepin on to see it happenen. Very empowering!

My goal has been 100lbs fat loss. Soigave myself four years. 25lbs a year.
    2lbs a month . Or 1/2 lb a week. That’s doable right?

What my experience after two years is. When I’m not being very focussed I can lose 1lb in one week and then gain it back the next. So I adjusted , joined JOJO 2lb thread. Now I sometimes lose 2lb in a week and only gain back 1. Chuffed about finding the schedule that achieves 2lb a week for more than week. I’m on 4:3. Two zero calorie days of 27hr water fasts( mostly sleeping) and one 600 cal day per week. With 300 cals when I clock in and 300 more for lunch during the week.
So that’s 5400 of calorie restriction per week if I’m only eating TDEE on feed days. That’s where the 2000 a week of exercise makes the difference! CHUFFED!

    Since ย Jan 2,2015
    51 HIIT
    823855 ย steps taken.
    22 lifting sessions
    22 fast days
    Days above TDEE 4
    Keepin on

I would like to loose 100lbs,but will have to wait and see, so long as I keep losing weight I will be happy, I know it won’t happen every week.

    Hello Brads
The politics of downunder are – you never must assume Kiwis (Barata and I) are the same as Aussies. Yes, we kiwis are presently 13 hours ahead of you, but them across the ditch are not quite as as up to date as us. Small nations have big egos!
It is true that Canberra has provision for NZ to join Oz as a state, but rugby could be the stumbling block as the All Black team would be a part of the Wallabies. Do the Aussies really want a rugby team made up of Maoris and Tongans?
As far as soccer is concerned they play in the Asia region and the NZ team in the Pacific region.
Well hope that explains a bit.
    XX Wiwi

Been to my first rugby union game this year, have actually been to 2 games, I have been going to football (soccer) since 1962, although this may be my last season. I have been going to speedway since 1960 and still go every week, it will start on good Friday, seen some good Kiwi riders, and plenty of good Aussies to. My mate who I worked with as moved to New Zealand, he as not found a job yet but is wif wife has a good job, a specialist nurse.

Haha Wiwi! Good overview on the local setup!
Gosh, we couldn’t have Kiwis playing sport in Australia!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ As a Roosters fan (Rugby League) I have learnt to pronounce a lot of Maori names over the years ๐Ÿ™‚
Hope you had a happy birthday and enjoy your catchup with Bay.

Good attitude Brad: ‘As long as the weight is going down’ says it all. All the best ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry about the distance from your bil Wee at this difficult time. It is the hardest thing with far flung families. Aussies are very conscious of it. X

Samm you have my absolute respect mate.

AO, have you spoken to the neighbour? Not easy, but it really is totally unacceptable behaviour.

Thanks Smiffy. Much better. Off to the city today.
    Have a good one everybody. P ๐Ÿ™‚

With that food boost go exercise with weights or walk till it’s metabolized!

There are lots of rugby league teams within a 20 mile radius,Wigan,Widnes,Warrington, St Helens, Salford, Rugby league is a northern thing, union is more widespread.

Didn’t get my walk after all as the gas man didn’t come until much later than promised , By the time he left it was coming down in sheets again .

Jojo my OH had a triple bypass and now has aneurysms so he can’t walk very far and only on level ground . he doesn’t want me to walk in the dark either .

Hope dad is up tomorrow when we go down to visit as I love taking him out .

    Hi Wee

Thinking of you and sending cyber hugs. Could you get yourself a mini trampoline for indoors walking and movement when the rain and sleet are too awful?

When I do too much the RA in my knees gets worse so will just have to see how it goes , Thanks for the hugs and hugs back …..Wee xx

    Evening/morning all.
AO, you need to speak to your neighbour, he probably doesn’t know that he is causing a disturbance.
I’ve has too much to eat and drink, but I had a fab time catching up with my ex colleagues,so if there is any damage it doesn’t really matter.

    Hello all,

Amazon I love it when you use the word ‘fab’ as it takes me straight to the 60’s, makes me think of Carnaby Street and the Beatles! Glad you had such a good time. Also, I would love to see your photos on FB. I have recently rejoined FB so I could join your group, how do I get an invitation (please)?

I purchased some new walking shoes this morning : Nike “Lights” on the recommendation of podiatrist. My achilles (chronic injury) gets really sore after walking, ultra sound shows inflammation and a bursa and most shoes make walking hard due to friction at the back. These shoes feel like slippers! Lets hope I can walk further with them without irritating my heel. Also thinking about trying acupuncture but a bit chicken! Would have a steroid injection but told there is a real risk of rupturing achilles with this. Ah, its a pain when bits start wearing out!

Brads I am a footy tragic, but only Aussie Rules! (similar to Gaelic I believe). Have no knowledge of,or interest in, soccer or rugby. You will find fasting is great for steady and relatively painless weightloss. And this forum is the best for motivation.

SAMM you are a legend! Glad you can bring your wife home. The cat will be happy too!

RT I highly recommend a “remedial massage” – if you have health insurance you will get some back. But be warned, they are highly addictive. I have one monthly and would have one weekly if they didnt cost so much! Looking forward to NAB cup starting tonight, though we will be thumped by the Hawks.

AO I agree, speak to the neighbour. Motor bikes are so loud, the EPA would probably have a rule about them. He would be waking the whole neighbourhood. Not sure what the answer could be tho? You say you have ‘several’ German Shepherds, how many actually?

    Cheers all x

I can watch Aussie rules but don’t really understand it.

It has gotten a lot faster in my lifetime and can be a bit too rough. I am surprised there are not more spinal injuries. But I guess its what I grew up with so its the one I understand. A close match is very exciting.
Its 2.15 pm here, I guess its about 1.15am there? Obviously you can access the internet at work!

It’s 03:17 and I am using my mobile phone

whoops I went an hour the wrong way! I refuse to get a smart phone as I would probably never be off it. Just use ipad at home once/twice a day. Or nothing would get done. I did night shift (nursing) a lot, so I respect your ability to manage it.

    I have reported the spam.

Nama we have 6 GSD’s at home with one currently elsewhere for a few weeks before coming back home.

Brads .. to me Aussie rules is a pack of seagulls fighting over a chip!!! No sense to me either and I’ve lived here for almost 50 years (ie vast majority of my life) ๐Ÿ˜†

Must run as at work, just hopped in to report a post and answer/respond to a couple of things.

Going to eat twenty minutes early. I like feed days much better than fast days. Just saying!

We have the grandies for the weekend they (the Parents) are off to Clipsal v8 super cars in Adelaide for a long weekend hereโ€™s a thing the young fella 3 wants paโ€™s special cake hmm Nama what have we created a GF monster ๐Ÿ˜† of course almond and orange coming up my boy how could you not
SAMM I have added your game plan to the play book man you are committed to the cause super stuff ok fast friends the walking track is calling me.
    Peace RT

I like that, a pack of seagulls.

Will have to put a world clock on my mobile.

    Hi FTers

Another busy day teaching – good thing is that managed to stick to ‘no eating till at home’ again at 4.30pm, although did have cup of coffee with skinny milk at lunch time as not a FD. Scales net loss 1.0kg since last Thursday’s ‘official’ weigh-in so very pleased.

MrF made blackberry jam today so toast and jam for tomorrow’s breakfast – just to try it in a supportive kind of way you understand ๐Ÿ˜‰ Isn’t this WOL fantastic?

Ribs almost healed so plan to try yoga on Monday and weights on Wednesday. Did some exploratory stretching and a few exercises so will see how I cope. So sick of not being able to go. More than 12k steps today with all the running around between classes and never sitting down while actually teaching – I can’t stand still while talking, always grabbing a specimen to demonstrate or putting an illustration on the white board but not the same as the lovely lithe feeling after yoga or the sense of achievement after weight training.

Time to get dinner – roast beef salad.

Keep up the good work everyone. nxx

    Hi there everyone.
Just been catching up on reading all the posts.
Thank you Bayleafoz for the birthday wishes. I stopped counting the years but can’t resist an excuse to celebrate, ANY excuse!!!!!!

Amazon, how do I let you know my Facebook details? Just put them here or on my profile? I’ve not done anything like this before and have only recently joined Facebook.

OH and I are off to a big local Marksies to do a bit of Summer clothes shopping, smaller sizes needed!!! Good way to spend a fast day I think.

    Better get up and ready!!
    Good fasting/feasting all.
    WN.

    Morning/evening all.

Nama, in order to send you a FB invitation, I need to know the name you are registered under.
    WN, same goes for you.

You could add your name into your fast diet profile rather than posting on the thread, and once I’ve seen it I’ll let you know and you can remove it if you wish.

Thanks so much Amazon, will do that now.

Yay, well done Nicky, on the successful day teaching, plus the kilo gone!
AO you must need a lot of food and time for that many dogs! How lovely, I would be happy with just one dog, but Mr Nama not agreeing yet. Our dear old boy died 3 yrs ago and I really need another dog. I keep forwarding emails to him of the sad doggie photos on rescue sites…one day he will crumble!

Nama, do you have a profile picture on FB? There are 4 ladies with the same name, and I don’t want to chose the wrong one!

    Oopps I overslept.
Read and chat later, off to choir and Nordic walking.
Another 1/2 pound off, all is well, resilience and willpower holding strong.
I am beating my self control demons for the last time, I know this is going to work.

Have a happy and sucessful day everyone.

    Keep fasting, keep moving

yes Amazon, just head and soulders, leaning forward. Short dark hair with fringe. Wearing a white top with zebra stripes! Gosh, didnt know I had such a common name. Thanks for your patience..

Nama, I’ve sent you a message on FB.

Mmmm..thats weird Amazon, it hasnt arrived.

Apparently it has gone to your “other” folder as we aren’t connected on FB.
If you click on messages, the option is at the top next to inbox.

Evening All! My head is spinning with all the news and happenings, birthdays, anniversaries, talk of football (by which I mean Rugby) and Kiwi/Aussie rivalry (I have a foot in both camps). Makes a non-mouth-watering change from lists of yummy food eaten when I’m on a FD ๐Ÿ˜‰
I haven’t been on-line much lately as work has ramped up with the start of the semester and I already spend way to long at the screen for work so logging in after hours is sometimes not a restful activity. However, I do love to read what you’ve all been up to and still feel a part of the community even if I’m AWOL a lot so hope that’s okay. I loved your comment RT “it will be alright in the end if itโ€™s not alright then itโ€™s not the end” ๐Ÿ™‚ Such a great approach to problems and problem solving! And I’m sorry to hear about your brother-in-law Wee and the distance is so much harder when this happens.
Welcome Brads, and it sounds like lots of loses continuing to happen and SAMM still the king. Having 100lbs to lose seems a common amount on here and that’s what I’m nearly half way to losing, so it is comforting to know others will be here for a good while longer too. Jojo you lead the way with your inspiring efforts, among many others here, and reading about people increasing their exercise – such as Nama in the pool! – is great inspiration.
Okay, well I’m starving as I always am late on Thursday so will have a hot chocolate in an hour in the hopes that 47 calories will be enough to get me off to sleep for an early night. Keep up the amazing work precious losers and can’t wait to hear about loses in the morning for those who weigh on Friday.

    Hello all

Just back from a blustery but sunny walk on the beach – sadly the last for a while but we hope to be back during March.

Brads – I’m not a footie fan, but I do have 2 German Shepherds. They are brother and sister, 2 years old, and, in our eyes of course, gorgeous. Having two dogs from the same litter is not a good idea, for several reasons, one of which is the risk that they bond more with each other than their owners and become uncontrollable when they are adults. It was never our intention to have two, but it was the way things turned out. The only solution was to do everything separately for the first year – eating, sleeping and training. We worked very hard, and it has paid off. We still do part of our walks separately, but they can now do most things together without any problems of one trying to dominate the other.

Wiwi – welcome back and belated happy birthday! Sorry I overlooked it previously.

Well done Jojo. It sounds as if you are well and truly under control again.

It’s a fast day for me. Nothing but liquids so far, with spiced chicken, butternut squash and couscous tonight. Not feeling hungry so far, and a busy afternoon finishing the household chores should take my mind off food.

    Have a good day/evening all

    Smiffy x

Hello everyone, just had 7 hours sleep so doing well, lots of dog lovers on here,i gave up smoking 5 years ago and quiet a few off that forum are now good cyber friends,we are all in a Facebook group, and talk every day, nearly all the group have dogs.My dog is a rescue dog and when i was on holiday last year, the place where i got her from had a bad fire, some young thug started a fire and a number of dogs were killed, they appealed for money to try and rebuild the damaged part, they were hoping to raise ยฃ5000 but raised over ยฃ100,000 within a few hours,i know in the end they raised over ยฃ2,000,000,maybe more, just goes to show how much people love dogs.I hope everyone is doing well on their diet, and all losing weight.

    Good afternnoon/morning Fast Trackers,

Well that was the wettest walk I have had in a while, it rained for the entire hour of my Nordic Walk. Fortunately I was appropriately dressed unlike many of my fellow walkers so I remained happy and focussed. I may need to invest in some poles after next week as the course finishes and I definitely want to carry on using this method of walking. Another 5000 steps bites the dust in that hour. It certainly keeps you warm too because you move quite quickly.

I will be going to my first Rugby match soon at Wembly, I am sing with my Rock Choir along with 2000 other choristers and Pixie Lot( hope it is spelt like that). Really looking forward to it. Anyone going to the match on 28th March?

I am thinking about changing my diet focus to ‘mental training’, I think I may be on to something with this approach. Let’s see how it pans out. Currently researching ‘ habit changing’ positive mental attitude development. As many of you know I am usually a ‘glass half full’ kind of gal but I am now aiming to be ‘ glass brimming over’.

Why am I doing this? Because I don’t want food to be the focus of my life for the next 30 years, there are so many other things to think about apart from the next meal.

I am going to start by using chanting every morning and (silent chanting) when presented with temptation. First chant ‘ I am in control of my own decision making’ Second chant’if this food is healthy for my body I can eat it, if not, walk away’.

    What do you think?

Morning all … well only a small loss this week (just under 1 lb) and 1cm with the tape measure. I know why this was, unexpected changes just last night so no time to counteract in advance. Even though I did not overeat there was not the correct choices available for me. With this I now know that I need a 3rd FD so will now set that in place, as this will allow for the odd time when something like last night happens (I only had dinner last night, nothing to eat during the day only liquids).

Glad to hear everyone else seems to be on a losing streak ๐Ÿ˜†

Lovely to hear about your dog/s Smiffy and Brads – a sad but story Brads but with a lovely end re your dog and where it came from. During the day all our kids are in their kennels and once we’re home they free run in our back yard and play together and once the lamb goes they will also free run in the back paddock (1 & 1/2 acres approx) each evening before coming in for dinner then back in the back yard which is (approx 1/3 acre) until bed time.

Had our granddaughters over after work yesterday, they stayed for dinner as their dad was working late and our other son (their uncle) who has been looking after them during the week after school was coaching his boys and their basketball team. So we will have changes every other week that the girls will come to us after I finish work on Mondays and Thursdays when their dad is working late (which will be fairly regular for the next few months) as he has them alternate weeks. At least now I know and can plan for this ๐Ÿ˜€

Must dash … lots to do this morning … if time permits I’ll hop back in and read at least what else has been posted ๐Ÿ˜€

    Morning fts ๐Ÿ™‚
Jojo, I actually unconsciously do self talk. I often walk into shops, including cake shops, look carefully at all on offer, and say to myself “you don’t need any of these”, and walk out. It is incredibly strength building. Even better than walking past the shop. Every time I do it, my resolve firms. P ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi P and jojo,

I do similar. I walk up and down sweet aisles (and even health food ahops) now, thinking ‘it’s all sugar, there’s no nutrition here, there’s nothing I want’. And then leave still hungry but empty handed…

    Hi jojo,

Forgot to say I’ve been to quite a few rugby matches (autumn internationals and six nations), mostly at the Millennium stadium. The atmosphere there is amazing, particularly with the roof closed.

I’ve only seen bands at Wembley, but I’m sure it will be a great sports venue (although obviously inferior to the Millennium stadium ๐Ÿ™‚ )

    Hi H
I used to walk away hungry after that scenario. Now, my hunger disappears during the process. Mind you, I know if I had one small mouthful, I would not be so successful. I have learnt to not have anything or I will eat it all ๐Ÿ˜‰
I guess it’s a case of developing coping strategies that work for you and build your self control. P

Yes the Millennium stadium is the best I have been to, watched speedway Grand Prix, the Etihad stadium where I go to watch football is quite good. I might go and watch some cricket this year, have only ever been to one match.
