  • Weigh in day and no loss which is so boring. It has been very hot here and I have done a lot of sitting around. I also have had a couple of social events this week which no doubt contributed.
I have my annual beach holiday coming up next weekend, we always eat really healthily on these holidays but do drink a lot more. Might have to do 4/3 this week for the first time.
It seems like I am not the only one who plateaued this week.

I hope others get better results.

Flemish Curves, I am glad the police sorted that lot out in Verviers before they could do anything. So scary.

Good morning all. It’s going to be another hot one – we had 36 degrees yesterday and forecast 33 today. It was still 29 last night at 7.30 on my way home from work. Drinking the iced tea to keep cool.

CG, feeling for you. Hope you’re better soon. Andrew, MelbVegas must be a bit like BrisVegas up here. Sorry but both too busy for me. Bali, don’t worry about the kg, we’ve all been there and as you know you will get on top of it. Everyone keeping their spirits up like great AUSSIE DETERMINATORS that you all are.

Well, weigh day – SW 110, CW 104.1 that’s 5.9 gone for good since Dec 1. Yay!

Wish everyone the best for today.

FB, it’s good to be back. Feel terrible about checking out.

Uptight, thanks. It was pretty scary. I found out watching Spanish telly and in a panic only heard half of it. Started frantically looking for another channel with more information. It’s been a terrifying week for Europe, tbh. Saw the hostage situation play out live on French telly. I really hope this doesn’t lead to more intolerance towards the muslim community here. I know quite a lot of muslims here and they’re absolutely horrified. I feel for them.

Wow GG1, you are on a roll, aren’t you? Well done!

Hi team, showered, feeling slightly better after a nanny nap…actually I feel like a big fat crisp bread roll, anyway see what transpires as the day goes on.
    Understandably not up for much of a motivation speech today…except the following;

    SW 94.0
    17 weeks later
    CW 81.5

    Total loss 12.5
+++ 49cm fat gone over all!

Is that incentive or motivation enough? I’m a very happy little vegemite with my results, have a happy day team, when the going gets tough, remember my stats, IT DOES WORK AND YOU CAN DO IT 🙂 … ESPECIALLY WITH AUSSIE DETERMINATION….CG xxx

A lot happening here on AUSSIE DETERMINATION!

We are here for each other and I can feeeeeeeeel the LOVE and support!

Welcome to all the new people joining us this week. There are so many inspirational and supportive people here.

Weigh in day! Changed the way I fasted on FAST DAY….I have not been hungry for the last 2 fasts…..I not sure if its the hot weather or the distractions…I haven’t had time to figure that one out yet.

While I am not hungry I am going to experiment with one meal on fast day of 350-500calorie at 6pm.This is all new for me as I am usually a “emotional food picker” but I am going to give it a go!

I have lost 600grm this week…going in the right direction.

    How are you going?

Morning all! My weigh in week is not up til Monday, but am changing to Fridays to stay with the crew. So am 88.2kgs. from a standing start of 90.8 in under 2 weeks (4 fast days ago). 2.6 kg! I’m stoked!

And about to take the whole thing seriously. I only tried it in desperation after nothing else has worked, but after meeting you all I’m so impressed with you mob of battlers, just helping each other out. Even putting up with my waffling. (I so rarely do these days) clearly, I’ve been a hermit in the scrub too long. And a loner, disliking what I saw in the mirror and bogged by my own bulge. It is so good to have a win over the flab! Thanks to all for the support.

CG, really sorry you’re crook. I’m sure you know the drill, but don’t overlook the possibility of sudden giardia (water-borne) attacks if you have tanks on a farm in this weather. If it lasts more than 24 hrs maybe worth checking (poo test). Hope you find the ham innocent (like Flemish sez) I am all geared up to follow our fearless leader and do a batch of pea and Ham soup! Be well.

Fatbuster, Thank you for the kind words. I have one beautiful son left (he’s a pro Tennis coach, presently at the Melbourne finals) and 2 step-daughters. Plus loads of grandkids. As Foxy said, my loss is also part of who I am. We brush over so much of other’s misfortunes until something affects us personally. And then we KNOW. like I can now see a war memorial and it truly sinks in how important peace is. All those mothers! And they all coped. As we do. Life is not to be taken for granted and it is good to be reminded of that.

Foxy, may we travel on, through thick and THIN! Havagoodday!

Hi FC and Gypsie, yes above all I’m hoping it wasn’t the ham too, I left so much on the bone especially for soup + getting sick of it with salads, and it just melted off the bone when boiled up with the peas and a few veg, an so so yummy. Maybe over indulgence, 3 bowls, one lunch, two for dinner, too many split peas to ingest..? Who knows, anyway, definately on the mend. Just went down to the paddock to feed my cows and sheep, lovely to get wind in my face, even if it is a bit warmish. I wont toss what’s in the freezer just yet, will try another bowl next week to consider my verdict.!
Gypsy I’m so glad the 5:2 has taken hold of you as it has with us “oldies” we have been so impressed with our losses and side affects of well being. My average loss is 700g per week but the inches (my age) are falling off, so if the scales don’t move, check your tape mesure. by the way my tank just recently refilled with lovely fresh water with our glorious rain and the fact I’m feeling so much better will just soldier on and watching symptons which are now disipating. Enjoy your day team, try some new recipes, new ways of cooking, no deep frying, just dry fry, maybe a squirt/spray of oil, learn to use alternatives for coatings instead of breadcrumbs, a whole new cooking experience awaits you, check out google, lets become part of the yuppie computer age and use it?… 😆 …CG xxxx

    Hi everyone,
I have just logged on after not having been able to yesterday and I do not have time to read through all the posts, hopefully I will be able to catch up sometime over the weekend.
I am having a non-fast day again but great news for me was I got to go for a run this morning for the first time in months. It wasn’t fast and it wasn’t continuous, but it was outside in the park and I loved it!!!
The best bit was when I got home, had a shower and hopped on the scales I have gone down another 700grms. Yay Me!!!!
As I said before, hope to catch up with all the posts soon…..

    Hi All

Well done, I’ll weigh myself on a Saturday morning (work during the week) as I find that I have more time and not rushed to get out the door.

Have had a small problem with Jelly Beans (have a Dulux Bucket full)and it seems that after been on the 4:3 that these little snacks make we want to sleep. Anyone know much about Sugar Levels in the Blood?

I put my profile up for people to learn a little bit about me and found that I enjoyed reading peoples’ profiles but some have not been done this. I was hoping that people could spend a couple of minutes to raise their profiles so we can all become better acquainted.

Will hope the scales are kind to me tomorrow and those little buggers (jelly beans) don’t tempt me anymore.

Afternoon all you Determined Aussies! I am happy to say that I am in a much better head space today :)Yesterday’s fast was long and tough for me, but I persevered and am happy that I have stayed relatively the same this week….up 200 grams actually.

CG….hope you keep getting better as the day goes on…..get those boys around you for a group hug and some couch time with the cricket? And your stats! They do inspire us all…..you will be breaking through that 80 barrier soon, I just know it!

GG1 & Vegiemum…..woo hoo….you are achieving great losses!!! Well done

Gogal…..have a ball at the party tonight, hope hubby has a great time too x

Thanks again gypsy, travel on we will, hope you too have a wonderful day 🙂 xx

Hi eveyone I havent been able to post for a while, my internet went slow and I couldnt get on. This is now my 3rd week I think. Fast dsys are going really well and I find them very manageable. I actually look forward to them. I have been having breaky at about 10 am activa low fat yogurt 156 cal with 20 raspberries 20 cal and 1 tabln of alps blend 20 cal(Weigh it up) …..yes I tried that diet too and did lose weight but of course put it all back on again and some when I went back to my old eating habits. JUST Under 200 cal then a coffee at lunch time with skim milk 11 cal then last night for dinner 1cup cooked carrots 1 cup of beans and a birds eye steamed fish with sweet chilli and herbs about 160 cals FOr the FISH.
I must say the fish was delicious cooked in the microwave for 5 mins. I will have this at least once a week because it was so yumm and easy. I find I can still cook the family dinner shove my piece of fish in mic and basically leave out the potatoes. Love it. No more thinking what am I going to eat on fast days.

Also I have made the butternut rattatoullie from the fast beach diet book and the red veg bboth very nice.

my weight is still fluctuating and can be up and down 2 kg at any time but weighed in this morning and am down to 81.5 which is 2kg down.

I going on my cruise in 23 days and am going to fast or try to. I have decided on shore days I will have 2 poached eggs no toast for breky then fish for t with veg and no lunch. Of course plenty of water. Then I will fast on the day I come home so should get 3 fasts in during the 11 day cruise and 1 the day before we leave.

I totally agree with you all that this is so doable.

I find that I walk halff an hour up and down my driveway ( I live on a farm so have a long driveway) every fast day and dont feel tired. I would like to do it other days as well but has been so hot and muggy.

Anyway sorry to bore you all but had to get that out. Do try the fish so easy , different flavours as well and just so quick and convenient when you are starving.

I go back to work on 27th jan so will be interested to see how I go then.

I go on my cruise in 23 days and am still going to fast

Wow! So much going on… Congrats on your losses

Lost half of my post!! I am feeling like a slug, gorged on carbs last two days 🙂
    Anyway, good night all!!

Oops! My bad, five shandies at the pub raffles tonight…..ah, well, there’s always tomorrow.

Hope you’re feeling ok now CG. Nite all

Hi all! Weighed in at 62.6kg today. 200g less than last Friday. 100g away from my initial GW I had in mind when I weighed 85.5kg.

I just got body analysis scales on sale, thanks to my newspaper subscription. So as of tonight (when I have time to log my data) I will be able to check my bodyfat/water retention/bone and muscle mass just by stepping on some scales. I’ve wanted these for ages but I never wanted to shell out €60 or more for fancy scales when I had perfectly good ones already at home. These cost €30 instead of €70 and I got a low cal recipe book with it. Getting cookbooks is always a plus.

I also bought some 50s style hepburn dresses and I fit the smallest size. And I bought some overknee boots and the calf actually fits me (even with pantyhose!). I never thought I’d see the day.

@swany, I weighed over 64kg yesterday (in pyjamas) and today I weigh under 63. We’re always going to fluctuate. Last week IO weighed myself, went to the toilet, weighed myself again and was up 300g. How do you explain that 😀
Well done on your loss, you’re doing really well. what’s a ‘bird’s eye steamed fish’? Never heard of it.
I actually love trying to work fasts into my holidays. they make me feel fresh and breezy and I don’t have to feel guilty about indulging a bit. I’m never very strict, though. They’ve actually made my holidays more enjoyable, knowing that I’m having a great time and enjoying the food but not getting in the way of my progress when I get back. Plus, I’ve gotten so used to fasting, if I miss a few, I start feeling bloaty and unhealthy. I didn’t fast for 5 days in Barcelona and I was actually happy to get to my calmer holiday destination where I had a few low cal days. Felt amazing. And lost 500g during that time as well. Just make sure you enjoy yourself and don’t be too tough on yourself when you’re there. It’s still a holiday.

Wow Foxy, I’m glad you got through it. Some days life just seems a lot harder than other days. trying to eat healthily only makes it harder still.

@gypsybell, well done on your loss, you are right to be stoked, that’s marvelous. I too started off a bit doubtful. I didn’t know if it would work or if I could keep it up. I was even too scared to join a forum out of fear of falling off the wagon and then having to face the failure. but it’s such a doable WOL, I can’t wait to do this for the rest of my life.

@vegiemumma, it could also just be your body that’s adjusting to this new WOL. I know I was living hour to hour on FDs in the beginning, especially after I’d had dinner. but now it’s just an afterthought. You are probably settling into your new habits, and the hunger stays away because your body is getting used to it. Although distractions are never a bad thing on FDs 🙂

CG, I really hope your next try with the ham will be a more successful one. And I hope you’re fully recovered and your happy, bubbly self again soon. It would be really sad if it had been the ham. Maybe it was the split pea fibre overload that did it. Sometimes it just happens. Wow, 49cm, that’s about a third of my height you’ve lost in width. That’s definitely a motivation, not just for you, but for everyone here.

    xXx

Hi, the last two fast days I’ve tried a different routine to see how it sits with me. I eat a normal breakfast then begin the fast from 2pm. I take in the 500 cals through the rest of the day and then leave a 16 hour break before I next eat. So I try not to eat after 6pm so that I can take breakfast at 10am the next morning. I find that I don’t feel as though I’m missing out very much this way.
I must say that on non-fast days I’m beginning to notice that I don’t want to eat the same foods I used to eat. Bread is becoming less desirable. I just don’t seem to want it much anymore. And I’ve begun having porridge for breakfast which I don’t mind but today it gave me an acid tummy so might go back to Dick Smith muesli.
I’m really noticing it when I drink alcohol. The next day I can feel the difference in my mind and my body.
The other thing I’ve noticed is that because not much food is in the body on and after fast days, going to the loo is different. I don’t want to go into details but I find that when non-fast days come around I spend a lot more time on the loo voiding all that food.
Having a lot of fun here making apricot jam, baked beans and banana cake.
Didn’t lose any weight this week and the tape measurement has jumped back up to where it was to begin with. : (
It’s great to have your company. Keep chatting.

Hi All. Probably getting to this post. a bit late for most but thought I’d check in just in case I don’t get to tomorrow. End of the first week of fasts for me and I wont say it was easy but doable. Weighed in this morning and was down by 1.2kilos which is pretty good seeing I’ve done no exercise this week apart from normal stuff. Could just be the initial jolt though. The Myfitness app kept telling me I wasn’t eating enough but by my calculations, Tues. I had 459 cal and Thurs. had 529 cals. I caught up reading through the posts just now and got the impression some don’t factor in vegies or salad. I gave salad I put on a Rye mountain wrap (69 cals), 20 cals – is that right? Also dry cooked spiced chicken (60gr) which was nice but not as good as putting the same ingredients plus mayo on a tortilla today! Been hitting the fruit today too, summer fruit is just too good. Groan. Sugar will have me clawing back some of the weight if I don’t watch it. Was sad to read some of the posts, felt like hugging those hurting. I nursed my sister five years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer and even tho it took only three weeks, the shock of such a short time felt like three years. Can’t imagine the impact of losing a child. () hugs girls xx

Morning all, and well done on the losses. There is a warm glow on hearing the reports of so many of you doing so well on this WOL, and the positivity and support emanating from you. Get well soon, CG.

Only 100g loss yesterday, but today down another 700, so all movement in the right direction. Have a great weekend, all.

    Morning All

Just popped on the scales and lost 0.9. Did my measurements and down a little on each but added another measurement scale Breast. I don’t think that I am loosing in the front part but feel it in the back, so interested to see how that goes.

Drinking lots of water and with this heat think that maybe I’m holding some.

I too am noticing differences in the way my body reacts to different foods.

Feel for everyone who has ever lost someone. Lost my 92 old Dad December and he lived in his own home up till July but couldn’t manage so he went to a Nursing Home. Old generation gentleman who did not want young women showering etc him. He decided to not eat, drink or take his medication and as his heart and mind were both OK … it was sad to watch and be cheerful every day that I went to visit him and I got to say goodbye, which makes a difference.

Off to the Illawarra Fly with my husband today (a rainforest walk and lookout)so hopefully some lovely views over Wollongong etc.

Good morning team, thank you for the nice get well’s, feeling a lot better today, just need a good clean out, hahaha but will be fine. Any loss is a good loss, if you platuea not to worry, check your tape measure.
Have a healthy “choice” weekend team, have your treats, you deserve them, your all doing so well, just think twice each time you indulge about portions.
GG, have a ball at your hubby’s party tonight, really let your hair down, you have worked hard enough on it.
Don’t sweat the small stuff…..CG xxx 🙂 xx

Morning all. @Yum I think nearly everybody factors in veg and salad. I count every single calorie on fast days, milk in my coffee etc.
@flemishcurves, Birds Eye steamed fish is just the brand Birdseye and it just means a prepared frozen fish meal. I admit to eating it once a week on a fast day because it makes the calorie counting easy when it is written on the packet, has a sauce, and goes in the microwave. I do the same with a pkt of frozen steamed vegetables for the same reason.
I don’t really eat prepared food at any other time and not much processed food at all but for fast days, convenience wins. My husband won’t eat that stuff so gets his own dinner that night!

    Good Morning ADs
Congratulations to everyone for their losses big n small. A loss is a loss. I get excited at 100 gm loss too 🙂

Went to a party yesterday and ended up having Sambuca shots n oh boy!!!! Its 11.20 am here n I am still badly hungover. So this chika is never having shots again. I guess sticking with good ol’ wine is a good idea.

Anyways weigh in day for me (although I haven’t been able to empty my intestines yet– sorry TMI) i decided to weigh and report it here as looks like I am going to be in bed for rest of the day 🙂

Down by 700 grams, current weight is 72.3 kgs.
Total loss in 15 weeks is 12.2 kgs.

I hope to loose more when i get rid of this irritating constipation 🙁

Hubby will weigh in today as well. It is 2 weeks for him now. Will report his loss/gain later.
    Love you all!!!

FB as long as you enjoyed, never regret the fun times, they are few and far between, the hanover will pass, the memories will stay……CG. Xxxx :).

Yumyum just re-reading your post, myfitnessplal has a hissy fit any time you don’t reach their recommended cals for the day. Don’t stress about it, it is a sure way of keeping count of ALL calouries. Everything you put in your mouth sould be recorded to get an accurate reading. Even non fast days every so often to keep in check of what you eat.
You are all doing so well with your losses and if not, you are not gaining, which is just readjustment in your bodies. You’ll notice your body shape changing, for the better, my stomach and bum were the first to go, yahooo, then the back fat on my breast, cup size did not alter, so that’s a bonus. My thighs are so much slimmer, so even when I plateau, things do change around.
A lot of the credit, apart from fasting, is the wiser choices you are making on non fasting days, so congratulations. Even the odd over indulgance seems to be accepted and forgiven, so again, don’t sweat the small stuff, life is for living and our 5:2 is our way of life. Have a happy day…sorry my earlier posts were a bit short today, my daughter and the kids gave me a surprise vist last night and have only just gone. Gee I love family, enjoy your day team…CG xxxxx

Forgot to say all three could not get over how much weight I’d lost, even since xmas day, so it’s lovely to have it acknowledged even if the scales don’t always xxxx

Well done, CG. If they noticed a difference in just three weeks you must really be melting away. 🙂

Hey, for anyone who is not losing it can be disheartening to see other posts announcing losses. I’m one of those. I did lose a few kilos but this week I’ve gained one back and my waist measurement is back up. It’s hard to stay motivated when things don’t seem to be changing. I’m banking on the long-term health benefits even if the weight is not moving. Not everyone automatically loses weight.

Barata, I often think it depends on what clothes you are wearing, I was in black stretch slacks, lilac t/Shirt and black vest….but it is nice to be told, like I said I plateaued for quite some time, even now awfully slow with the scales but things are still changing/moving with my hody. I believe one can plateau for a couple of months, then lose quite a bit in quick succession, so still hope, 10-12k to go…have a lovely day..CG xx

Thanks, CG. Yes, I agree. And we do try to wear flattering clothes – why on earth not? We want to make the most of ourselves. A nice relaxing Saturday here, omelets all round for dinner, and lots of red wine. Shame about the cricket (NZ vs Sri Lanka washed out).

Yes it’s a bummer when the weather stops the game, I’m watching 20/20, a sausage and grilled tomatoes tonight, love snags, but damn high with cals….CG oh and a couple of whiskeys and zero coke, yum xx

Still, looking forward to all the cricket next month here and in Aus. Should be a good competition.

    Sandman calling. Nighty-night.

Keep losing my post – let me know if it shows up in the middle of someone else’s!!!!!!!
CG I tend to use the book’s assessment of calorie content so far more than the app. I got cheesed off at the app yelling at me 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement and tips.
How great to impress your daughter and grandkids with your progress. So rewarding when others see it.
Think I will do what another wise post said and opt for the easy option of steamed fish/veg on fast days. It is easy to get bogged down in creating enough variety so it is not boring – it’s not really boring being able to use spices and pepper but just time consuming working it all out. YYxx

Hi all! Had two days of diet blowouts – more eating junk than calorie blowouts, and each day about 1400 cals ( have a TDEE of 1700, but really, I will never loose weight if I keep this up. I hope the non-fast day binges sort themselves soon. How do you all do it?
My stats: SW 82.9, CW 80.5 after 4 weeks of fasting ( and blowouts). GW 65 kilos – height 164cm, but I have bit of muscle… I eat healthily most times and then a devil gets inside me. But down…

I meant to write ” bit down now” in last sentence. The phone eats my posts!!

Lotus don’t beat yourself up, the kids left 6-8 pieces of chocolate which I put in the fridge, non left now! We all have blow outs. As long as your eating choices non fast days are mostly healthy, eating up to you TDEE which you are well under, you will be fine. The weight usually comes off when you least expect it. Golly at 1400 and 500 on fast days, you’ll be getting to goal before you know it. It look a hell of a lot longer to put it on!
Yumyum, good idea, a lot of members stick to prepared meals for ease, see how you go and as you said add a few herbs and it will be yummy.
Barata, really great cricket season this year, I agree, not a lot of work will be done! Up early to do chores, then probably late nights too with the game, an’ lovin’ it!
Nighty nite team xx CG. :). Xx

Thanks so much CG, for keeping me positive! Mm chocolate … Ok, *slaps self on wrist*.

    Nite team

Yep CG, i had really good fun. And hangover was gone after a nurofen. I normally dont take painkillers but this headache was testing my patience. All good now.
Went for dress hunting today as I need to attend a party when I will be on holidays.
Went to Myers and there was a further 30% off on designer label dresses.
I tried on at least 10 dresses in size 12 and each one fitted perrrrrrrrrrrrrfect!!!!!!
I wanted to buy atleast 6 of those dresses but that would have meant parting with lots of hard earned money.
So, bought an off shoulder floor length dress in navy color. Size 12 is still a little loose on top but will get it altered as the dress flared n fitted amazing. All up got 66% off on original price. So I am one happy female today as I grabbed a bargain and a very sexy flattery size 12 dress. Ah, the joys!!!
Roll on tomorrow’s fast day. I plan on doing b2b on Sunday n Monday, becoz of indulgence friday n today.
    Nite nite all!!!

FB that must be soooooo satisfying, to look at that lovely image in the mirror! Just as well you didn’t get all ten, you might be size 10 before you’ve finished, and that would be a waist 🙂

FB that is such fantastic news. Your family will be gobbed smacked when they see you.
Good morning team, I feel hungover too but not from two small whiskeys, just slept so heavy, been suffering from insomnia for weeks, or broken sleep but last night oh what a great sleep.
Fast day tomorrow for most of us, PLAN PREPARE PLAN the big keys. No slip up’s are possible if you are prepared.check out some easy new recipes so you don’t get bogged down with same ol’ same ol’, or the packaged meals as suggested. If you feel safe with the usual, like Andrew, go for it, but a bit of a mix up gives you something to look forward to.
You AUSSIE DETERMINATION will work it’s best on fast days…YOU CAN DO IT, you know it works and YOU ARE NOT ALONE, we are all here for YOU!
Have a great day team…don’t sweat the small stuff,, life is for living…no regrets…CG .. 🙂 ..xx

Morning everyone. Have arrived at my weigh in day after my first week of 5:2. Pleased with progress but in consideration of knitomat4.0.0.0’s insight will simply say it went better than expected and I hope I can sustain the loss. I have been trying to maintain a 1200cal diet for 12 months with little success. Actually gained 7 kilos over that time. Pink moscato was the first target for blame then the obvious onset of womenopause. But after this weeks effort of healthy eating with a couple of days of doing it tough I know where the blame lies for the gain. As do all of the contributors whose posts I’m reading daily. Thank you for the honesty and the encouragement. I will try and stay ‘determined’ as I cannot get any more Aussie

Midlife, there will always be negativity no matter what you do, there are always reasons why things do not work. If you are sticking to 500cals only on fast days and only eat upto your TDEE on non fast days the 5:2 HAS to work! The non fast days are not a free for all, this is a serious path we are all on, not a hit and miss, sure we all have blow outs, but the guilt is so much to bear because we are all so conscious of eating healthy with healthy choices. The blow outs are usually so small in comparison to our “past” lives but we all still feel it. YOU CAN DO IT, stay with us at AUSSIE DETERMINATION and we will support you all the way. Like everything, the 5:2 may not suit everyone, it might just mot be for them, but we are all proof it does work…Good Luck… CG … 🙂 xx

Sunday morning……. Thanks CG , FB & FOXY, For Hubby’s birthday wishes he read your e-mails and SMS…. he had a super time on Friday night at the birthday dinner…… Yesterday ,was a family and friends lunch birthday at home…. with many surprises for him such a wonderful happy ,enjoyable day, I brought a beautiful maxi dress dress size 12….. that just looked super …. People noticed and commented on my weight loss and MY WAIST which was excsentuated by the dress.

I was good at lunch … too busy looking after our guests I mainly drank sparking water ? 2 glasses of champers……We have sooooooo much food left and all healthy salads so will be eating for a few days.
Have a wonderful Sunday ….get ready for fast day tomorrow…. Hugs to all …..GO GAL

Ha, Ha,LOTUS, Don’t worry, you’re not the only one the devil influences! I did SUCH a good job of clearing the pantry of left over Xmas goodies (to skinny neighbours) THEN got fouled by the fruit crisper. About 1 kg of lychees later I polished off the nectarines and just couldn’t leave that bowen mango to rot! Rats!

but CG is right about the guilts kicking in to save the day, I repaired to the exercise bike twice that day. And was aided by a dose of the runs from all that fruit! It’s an eye opener to use the calorie counter ap. one pat of butter (my weakness) is 140cal! Nooooooo!

despite all that, I am more challenged than defeated, simply because I’m sharing the guilt! I got back on my motorbike for the first time in 6 months today. Just keep at it Lotus, winning will become a habit if you just keep at it!

Well down GYPSY……GET THAT MOTOR RUNN’IN,HEAD OUT ON THE HIGHWAY,LOOK’IN FOR ADVENTURE & WHAT EVER COMES OUR WAY….. FIRE ALL THE GUNS AT ONCE, EXPLODE INTO SPACE….BORN TO BE WILD !…….GO GALXXXX

    Good Morning All
GG very happy to hear that you had a good time. I amsure your hubby would have loved the surprises. Wow GG, this is such a positive thing when others see the change. Gotta enjoy it as much as you can.
Thanks CG and Barata, the encouragement from the people here keeps me going.
Midlife, as CG said that 5:2 works if you are doing it right. Confratulations for seeing the positive change that you were hoping for.

Fasting today n tomorrow. Hoping I can do this b2b.

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone!!!

Hay gypsy, that a girl, all motivation, all working for you, your on your way…CG xx

Ha,ha, GO GAL! CG!Onya! Tthat’s exactly how I feel when I’m on it, Go Gal! (I’ll have to post a piccie on my profile) My outfit (motorbike and sidecar – which is dubbed ‘Gypsybelle’, thus my nickname)is a thing of gleaming beauty, all rich, deep purple, black lambs skin/leather and chrome, with awesome stickers of my travels. IT DESERVES A SLEEK RIDER! I have not been able to get into my leathers for some time. (have felt unworthy of the ‘Belle’). But it felt soooo good! Even the few kilo’s I’ve lost (5 since Nov ’14) make movement easier, especially bending! I can get my riding boots on! Yay! I swear I’ll be into the leathers by winter!

It takes ten years off my psyche just to get on it and toddle off to the supermarket. I always get a cackle when I come out. The Gypsybelle generally draws a crowd and, when they see an old woman claim her, the expressions are priceless! I had forgotton… ah, it feels good to giggle. Got music playing and eggs boiling for tomorrow. Fast day her I come! xx

Well done Gypsy, not all motivation comes from other….it comes from within.. 😆 GC xx

Hello, it was good to read the posts of knitomat as I’ve been trying to work out what I’ve been doing wrong. I started 5:2 on 22 Dec and lost one kilo in a week but I have put every cm and kg back on. My weight goes up and down. I have read many posts and went back to the book to see if I misunderstood how this is supposed to work. I confirmed that on page 114 the question is “Can I really eat what I want on the off-duty days? The answer is yes. So I figured let nature take it course and things will settle down. But things aren’t settling and I’m no losing weight. Rather disheartening. I’m not tracking what I eat on non-fast days because I don’t want to live like that but I rigourously track what I eat on fast days and do not go over 2092kj. I have no issues fasting as I drink heaps of water still and sparkling with a coke zero if I get bored. I know that I must be over eating on non-fast days as I end up rather full. Is anyone having success by only focusing on fast days? I’m far too heavy for my own good and feel heavy. Why won’t this work for me? I’m going to see if I can handle 4:3 to really get things going and maybe start back at the gym for one or two days a week. I’m 86.1 kg with a goal of 63. On the upside I haven’t put on weight and that’s a bonus.

Harmony, am I reading that right…you don’t go over 2092 cals on fast days? Fast days should be 500cals only and yes we do track what we eat to begin with on non fast days. If you have worked out your TDEE and do not go over that on NON fast days, eat up to 500cals on fast days, I cannot see why it would not work for you…CG
