I write for, and of the ‘battlers’, and my pen has never been for hire. It probably wouldn’t sell, anyway. But, freely given, it brings a moment of laughter and a little recognition to life’s heroes, who might not get it otherwise. Certainly the kids, struggling for some quality of life, bent and twisted in their deformities, would not. So I ride for charity, and I write for the same reason. Amateur writers like me don’t make money, but if they’re good enough, they can create awareness of the causes they support. I have published several little bush poetry booklets in the past. Now I’m thinking maybe I can create something that more will read, and dedicate it to the kid’s cause? They would get a kick out of it, for sure. I got thru Ch 5 last night, excellent! I think my own FD caused me to react to the eternal starvation business. Feeling a bit like the undead myself, especially with a b*tch of a thunderstorm at 3 a.m. The puppies did not like that at ALL.

Oh Fit, you tagged another place I meant to go but didn’t – we walked past the Whiskey Museum several times. I did spend some good dough in the Celtic Whiskey Shop though! Though this time I probably will wait until that handy-dandy SECOND duty free shop they hide in the basement in Dublin airport. 😀 And what a coincidence, I’ve had bunion surg too, on BOTH feet. Very proud of my nice straight feet now. Somehow I came out with bum feet AND hands (had the carpal on both arms and several trigger releases on each hand). So now I have bionic appendages! Well, at least not deformed ones.

So I didn’t venture out much, just for choir practice. Our choir will be singing at a wedding in June and we’re learning lots of new music, I love it! 🎼

Well team today is my last post for 10 days .OH and I leave for PORT DOUGLAS TOMORROW.I am looking so forwsrd to spending this time with him. We always do the most interesting activities when we are are on an adventure together. He taught me how to snorkling after I had a trumatic incident many years ago and was not confident to try it again…..he slowly encouraged me by retesching me the correct way in our pool.

CG I do get a kick out of the wacky court cases, but most often I teach my students simply to understand the law and the facts before they form opinions about justice. Judgment in the media isn’t justice, because so few facts are actually public knowledge, a la the McDonald’s coffee case. And there are way too many wrongful convictions based on being in the wrong place at the wrong time – not to mention, being of the wrong race. Crim law is not my field but the same happens with consumer law – many people think getting hoodwinked is what people deserve for falling for a scam. It’s a shame. And I agree with you about unequal sentencing – yikes! Ok, sermon over, sorry! 🙏 Don’t worry Fit, I won’t lecture you when I get to Dublin! If I start, just shove another pint in my face 😅👍🍺 OH usually knows to do that 😍 Oh but wait CG, speaking of legal matters, did you mention the bank manager?? That sounds tedious – hope it went well. Hi all, just a quick check in from Rockhampton where we have moved into a pub for a couple of days. We were being sandblasted at Yeppoon on our beach front site and the winds are everywhere so we have taken shelter. So, I have (slow) internet on my computer for a change.
All going well but not much to say about the diet. Haven’t even seen any scales for about 3 weeks so have no idea what I weigh. Eating well but as usual having a drink or 2 each night which is definitely not fasting.

And is the soundtrack playing in my head as I write the story that’s been sitting on my pen, since the depths of my despair, over the death of my boy, eight years ago. I came to my scrub hut, where his love and laughter used to be. We bought it together. But I could not find him here, until now. My woods helped me to stay sane, but it was dodgy. I wrote such painful diaries of the unspeakable horrors in my mind as I tried to find him, out there. Some where… Heavy shit, ladies, I put my pen down on rock bottom and left it there.
Sometimes seeking just hurts too much. And I understand why people give up on anything more than Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’roll! Or lead a blinkered life while their flock’s shepherd thinks for them. Lovely little dream that, a trip to church on Sundays will get ya’ to Heaven on his ticket. Ya’ reckon? A bit like politics. They all depend on their Ads to hoodwink the people. Even believe that swaying opinions their way is proof of their own claims to profithood (if you’ll pardon the pun) and for God’s sake! TRUMP winning the votes for leadership of the most powerful nation on Earth? It has got to be a sign of it being time to laude the ludicrous on whatever medium possible to show up ‘the king’s (invisible) clothes’! For what they are, Good ad work, with no substance to their promises at all. Put the idiots out there naked and see how they go.
Anyway. I have no doubt lost you on the plot there a bit, so since I’m out of the cupboard this far, I might as well tell you where the inspiration came from to revisit my diaries and pick up the threads again , cautiously, and in the grounding light of dear friends. ‘SOMETIMES DARKNESS CAN SHOW YOU THE LIGHT’ is also a gifted piece. I’m not sure David Draiman is the real author, tho he is a very worthy vessel. And would be Shane’s choice. They never met on a social level, but had much in common, including the business. Check out the YOUNG ANGEL (NOT!) (17) AT THE TIME. HE’S GOLDILOCKS, ON THE LEFT.
His hair is bleached and permed (by his mother!) to suit the kiss era carryings on, stage wise. That’s my boy! Very riske for a country boy at the time. Ha! The kid and I were abandoned when I brought him into this world at the prime age of 17 myself. We managed. And ate the same apples from the forbidden tree. We learned stuff out there in the cold. From each other, mostly. And upped the establishment for the rent! His monica on stage was “THE AXEMAN” he played a mean lead guitar and belted out songs in the same vein as, and good enough for, his band to play back up band for touring greats like MEATLOAF & INXESS, whom he counted in his ‘mates base’.
So. stick with me. My dead son was a wild rock muso in his spare time, too, plus a TV camera journalist/documentaries/music clip artist, of pretty cool acclaim. He sat next to the Special effects guru (an Aussie BTW)of Sylvester Stalone’s epic, ‘The Tunnel’, at the Oz national cameraman’s awards, about 12 years before he died. Shane was collecting his own National award. And he was involved with the making of Draiman’s early video clips (through consult on lighting effects, his own speciality. He had contacts and mates in the business all over the globe. And it is more than spooky for me to see Shane’s intuitive Stamp almost cloned in the video clips of Draiman’s recent works. They just popped up out of the blue on my facebook page while I was looking for something to write about, then along came GG’s fairy slippers in the mail. So shoot me. I’m gunna put the pieces of Tanoui’s puzzle together as it comes.
CG, I am aware that gentle souls will not see the plot easily, or even want to. Though they may love following the fairy tale. But that’s the point. It will appeal to those who need it, on some level. And it is probably going to come to light I’m sending up those who get up my nose. If not the whole establishment. I’m pretty fed up with the insistence on ‘perfect’ guidelines from the frauds who spruik it. Not to mention people dying who shouldn’t. My boy was a warrior all right. He died of stress! From caring too much about fixing the joint up for his kids to be safe in. Time I honoured his journey. And you have become part of that story, by lead us bunch of food junkies onto the path of good health and no bloody nonsense about it! So just stay who you are and kick my butt back on track when I go too far over the fence. Just sayin’ ladies, you better know I’ll likely get hung or sued in the process. It’s bright and sunny though, so I suppose we’ll just have to make the best of it. Ta, CG, Yeah, I guess the crypt is open alright, Nuts. Sorry about that. But I never talked about him to anyone until you lot came along. I guess it was the safety of distance and the anonymity. But he really doesn’t deserve to be anonymous just because it is easier to squash memories than honour them. And I gave up the ghost and sat on my arse for years just feeling sorry for my self. All I got was fat! He would be ashamed of me for giving up the pen. I used to co-write his ads and we raised hell together, on all kinds of ‘save the world’ stuff. I had a knack of getting into shit, like standing on dead tree stumps orating to hold back the bulldozers on raintree forests etc. And the pollies were literally stuffed, because, guess what? My boy was in charge of the TV news! He was the one they called to go out in a chopper and trouble shoot trouble! And if I wanted to cause trouble for a cause, he would be right there at the drop of a hat! My fondest memory of him will always be of him hanging out of a channel 7 chopper, on a harness, with a tv camera on his shoulder, filming me yelling a verse about tree murder, from a fresh cut tree stump, at a crowd of construction workers and greenie supporters. And him, grinning approval as he yelled with all the power of his stage voice, “Give ’em hell! Mother! I’ve got your back!”.
I got suspended from my job at the time, because the need arose to save the trees when I was in uniform. I not only pulled a sicky that was blown on international TV, but Nurses in those days didn’t bring public censure on the white starch! But of course, he made sure public support got me re-instated. And that section of the foreshore, though prime real estate, was made National park. Pfft! To the greedy wheel! I will always have that win, I suppose, his ashes are there.
Ah, those were the days. It was handy we didn’t share the Same surname by then. I divorce his father and remarried. Shane was an Edgley. The name got him through doors, but he did the bastards proud! (I am not fond of that mob). Anyway, I have just had a boiled egg, so I feel better now my dead set malice against all injustice is once more plainly visible! Mmm, plus I feel that Tanouie is about to have a little fun with her newfound freedom…. before things get really serious, of course. But the world wasn’t saved in a day, I can tell you. Well I had a good day today , pool this morning and he really worked us hard, the. Then a day of catching up with everything and keeping busy so I would,not notice I was fasting. 5.2 going great,I started on the 30th of. Jan and have lost 20 pounds so far only 8 more to go till I reach my goal weight and then decided if I need to loose more. I am 5ft tall and small boned when I started i looked ten months pregnant and had a bust and a backside. My bust was the first thing to vanish, then I lost a small amount off my waist, finally my butt shrunk and no longer exists so now I’ flat chested buttless and only look 6 moths pregnant 😆

You are a beautiful soul, and your spirit a tribute to your dear son and many others. I’m honored that you trust us with your story. When we meet, and we will, I might very well bear-hug you into the next dimension.

Hi all. Finally had a small loss .5 of a kg . 😇😇😇 must have been better this week and showed a small amount of self control. Hopefully it will continue, the loss that is…..and the self control to ensure that there is a loss. Can’t post a lot as am off to Bridge today. Morning all, heading off to write there instead of overloading on here. When the pen’s on a roll it just blubs out all over the place (use to be a real pain in the days of writing up patient care charts! Ha, even my shopping lists get creative! CG, think there might be something in what Fit said re the weather and your headache. ?sinus/allergy. instead of codeine based pain killers, try an expectorant antihisimine (they are the relaxers rather than the dryers) Phenergan being the best of them. Will make you dopey, but if you haven’t been sleeping well, that’s a good thing. You don’t need any lectures on water intake, but take a bit extra anyway, especially in conjunction with our friends nicotine and al K hol. (both dryers) and if that doesn’t work, get your GP to look at prescribing one of the new anticholinergic puffers (streets a head of the old ventolin and asthma preventers. Has really helped me (remember I thought I was a goner on the emphysema track – it was all allergy based) so the one I take is called ‘breezhaler’. magic. I don’t get the sneezes in the am or the gummed ups at night and the breathing is much better. xx
Fit. You’re having a bit of goblinitis, huh? Well, you’re in charge of them! tell the little blighters to behave! and Maybe try what I do when the I get a run of reasons to foul up my fast days. Instead of constantly berating myself for failing, I give it a miss for a week or two. Have a holiday off it without the guilts. Mostly I either lose slightly or just maintain. and it’s always more effective when I get back on it after a holiday. I think the constant fasting causes plateaus. And one gradually stops eating up to the tdee. So the body just hangs on to it’s fat stores. But mostly, worrying about it causes the old enemy, stress, onto high cortisol levels and SQUARE ONE. Just a theorie, Luck, lovely lady! heh, heh, and I’m about to give yore alter ego a boost in that direction. It is just so bloody funny how it all seems to be matching the levels, ha,ha,With you and Jade heading towards each other across the continents and the other pair doing just that! I’ve a mind to rig it so they all have a bloody good time! Try the lobster for me! xxgyps

And how’s the Trump thing going? I’m expecting a spanner in his works, any day now. I notice lots of bulls eyes about you, too. Getting auctioned off is not the point. Being chosen as a draw for it is. You’re a wag, they all want to be in the light of. And that’s probably because you notice the little things about people’s struggles.
I liked your take on the law, too. In the end, it boils to the age old commandment. ‘thou shalt not break the law’ and people are stuck with that, despite the fact that everything conspires to alter circumstances and mitigate actions on a personal level (of their own loyalties and commitment) The law doesn’t bend on the letter of it. So it’s the interpretation of it that requires tempering with justice (both ways). I’m twigging you get it and the world is lucky you’r teaching it. Plus it is always the rebels who risk it to make changes to the status quo, on behalf of the herd. Onya. Carry on, mate.
Oh and not to get back on the cryptic woooos, I’m glad you rewatched the ‘Disturbed’ band’s official video cut. It IS the ‘Woods of desolation’ huh? Funny thing is, I didn’t see it til after I wrote it. So when I did see it, it felt like I had drawn it to me. And when I watched it, I was gob smacked. Because it WAS Shane’s stuff from his video bank of images. They are out there on the market, still being sold (by his brother)for the support of his kids. Just like my book cover comes from his (the second son’s)art works contacts. He’s pretty much a geni on the web, with a degree in communication design. Tho he prefers the outdoors and sport’s coaching. The boys have different fathers (neither of which panned out for me) but they were very close (15 yrs apart) and used to work together in the media business they had. Anyway, It all can be traced to a random co-incidence that the images were used, for that song (and other recent works -especially the fire stuff), Shane hung out of a chopper over most of the great fires and floods. With the storm chasers and the rescue choppers. He won awards for it. He was a freelance
‘spotter’ for hire and all the channels would ring him to cover a story or a national disaster. Plus, you know those great action Mitsubishi car ads and the coke ads that just suddenly stopped appearing? Yeah, he was a big loss to more than his mother.(had to hire a hall for his funeral service) but, anyway my imagination certainly did a freakout on the guitar coming out of the ground (one of his! and his imqagery,) then the headless shot of a bloke leading off into the woods, dragging a guitar.(not his shot, but WTF it all could have been made for me to finally GET IT! Now I have to believe he is out there. He made me a solemn vow just before he died in my arms, that if there was anyway to come back to me, he would find it.
And the one thing, I can’t find a co-incidental aspect for is THE BELL in the tree, a great BIG bell, SO I BLOODY COULDN’T MISS IT!. (MY name is Marie charlotte BELL) and he used to hang all these bells in my garden tree. I collect bells and he would bring me back bells from weird and wonderful places. So there you have it. I preach to no one of any certain knowledge of anything. Each has their own journey to make. But I get it. life doesn’t end with mortality. Nor is it meant to be spent on a hellyluya bandwagon. It has to be lived in the flesh to the best of our ability and understanding, with HUMANITY. Through all the grim lessons it takes to achieve some sort of wisdom, I perceive that a bloody good laugh is the most restorative of all emotions. LAUGHTER IS THE KEY TO HEREAFTER! One cannot be negative, depressed, angry, mean or any of the low vibrations when they are laughing.
And I am. Because, dunno who was inspired to do it, but that bell is just what he would do to finally crack the veil. I can imagine him grinning out of that chopper now. No sweat. My sense of humour is quite restored. So I’ve dumped again, but it is with celebration. It’s the looming Mother’s day blues I get. it was Mother’s day when he rang me from a documentary shoot, because he couldn’t get home with my latest bell and told me about the ‘sciatica’ problem he had. Two days later he was diagnosed with lung cancer and end stage bone mets. Never smoked. But got lung searing from hanging over an oil rig fire, on a mission to save the reef and the birds from such irresponsible mining. He was a good man (died at 44) and his life meant something. That’s all anybody can hope to achieve. I’m glad you all saw his images in the video’s. I have a right to be proud of him alright. So I will be just fine this Mother’s day. Hope you all have a good one. Especially sj.

Fit, we’re peas in a pod this week, it’s just not happening. But I’m feeling pretty sagacious (hope I used that word right – lol you know I looked it up) at the moment. I loved spending time with these students tonight, wouldn’t have traded it for any success involving a scale. If the goal is healthy living, you know, we are all on the job already. We are improving every day, in one way or another, so there is every reason to be happy, not frustrated. And yes I did have 3 martinis – FYI they really help if anyone wants to join me in feeling sagacious 🍸🍸🍸👍. Oh thank goodness it’s bedtime – off I go to read about Tannouie – sweet dreams all 💕xx

Oh, and did I mention that powerful warning of ‘silent cancer growing’ then the imagery of a tall boy and his sister, standing there in the wretched misery of that dark place, it was the coup de gras! For my heart to lurch at anyway…they are okay, now, growing quite nicely. The boy is into electronic music composition, the girl is studying art through the university of London.She’s really gifted. So I am counting my blessings…proper good! I won’t upset them with my little spin out experience, but I am glad to share my epiphany with some nice sane people. It do restore my humour. So we are all quite mad. Carry on!
