  • Doing weight training and having a fast day the day after or doing weights on a fast day and having a feast day afterwards?

Brad Pilon is author of the book Eat Stop Eat. This is an intermittent fasting program that advocates combining fasting and weight lifting. On his web-site he writes:
“If you want to workout during your fasts… that’s OK. If you don’t want to workout during your fasts… that’s OK too. Truthfully, I’m just happy you are working out… And if you want to know the very best time to workout the answer is simple: The best time to workout is when you have your best workouts.”

You can do whatever you would normally do on a fast day. It might be quite hard for you to begin with (if you’re new to fasting) because you’ll be burning way more than you take in on that day but just take on loads of fluids and you’ll be fine. There’s some research to suggest that you would burn more fat by exercising in the fasting state but basically just do what feels right for you.
