  • Well done, nr and radio. Radio, be prepared for constipation initially. Our digestive systems take a while to get used to considerably less food.

Nr, I found some Italian bread yesterday. Had a fair bit, with salad. However, I’m under target and wouldn’t mind gaining a couple of pounds.

Just thought I would do an update. Went on the amazing Women’s March against the Trump edicts in London yesterday. Walked for miles and sang with my choir to the marchers who cheered us on. Sang so much that I went hoarse but it was worth every minute! Have been feeling much happier than I have for ages now I am on the Fast Diet and managing ok, being a bit careful on non-FDs as well. Have been walking a lot and now have exercises from Physio to help with arthritis in hip. Life is good!
    How are you all doing?

    Yay for you, Curiouser!

I was marching with about 3/4 of a million people of every age and gender in Los Angeles. Such a positive — if defiant — spirit!

We need to protect the vulnerable and protect one another! March for it today; live it tomorrow!!!

You are so right LA Chubster – protect and resist! And 3/4 of a million is incredible!
The marches in the USA looked wonderful – so many inspiring women!
I don’t know about the States but here in London, many off the marchers were marching for the first time and that is so encouraging! I sing with a socialist choir and we sing on lots of marches and demos but I have never experienced one with such spirit and determination as the one yesterday.
It gave me hope for the future of the human race, for the first time for ages.
    Thanks for posting!

I forgot to say thank for your support and for the support of other concerned people around the world.

We Americans will have to take responsibility for Trump but it helps to know you are with us regardless of the outright gullibility and stupidity of too many of us.

Chubster, I’m sad for a country I love that so many fell for this bullying petulant man. My son’s mother in law posted a trite ‘every American women should pray for these Christian men at 9pm’ the night before the vote.

    If he’s a Christian, I’m Mother Theresa!

Anyway, to maintaining 5:2, I’m struggling at the mo. Routine is so disrupted that I’m not having a proper breakfast at 1 then I’m hungry later. Haven’t felt like that for months.hows everyone else doing?

    Pol. 💁🏼

I’m struggling too, Pol. The entire last week has been like a redux of Christmas that started out with a little “cheating” and ended up (IS ending up, I’m not done yet, I fear) with excess for the sake of excess.

Fortunately, tomorrow and Tues are my FD so if I have to strap myself down to a chair with my mouth duct taped closed I’m going to clean myself out and get back on the right track.

These things happen from time to time. But let’s redouble our efforts and then pat one another on the back when we get it straightened around. How about it? Be my conscience for a couple days????

LA & Curiouser–so great you both marched yesterday. I did, too. Felt good to redirect all those emotions in a positive way. There were more than 100,000 in Denver and I was proud to join women & men who were out there peacefully supporting women’s rights and sending a strong message to Washington. Curiouser, thank you for your support! How wonderful so many women joined us worldwide–I really think (hope) this is the start of a movement. Together, we can change the world. We did it in the 60’s/70’s and we can do it again! The stakes are too high to stay on the sidelines.

Today is my 2nd FD and this week has been so upsetting watching President Obama leave and Trump move in that I’ve wanted to eat bad sugary things. Ugh. So, it’s been a real challenge. But, I’m settling down and hope to get through the day with sparkling water until dinner time.

Wow! Great to hear from all you political women! Yes the march reminded me of the early days of the Women’s Movement and I wonder if all that power will come together more permanently to help us all?
Yes the political situation in the US and in the UK is dire. May resistance grow strong and focused on helping each other!
So many women shy away from the word Feminism but slowly that seems to be changing, I think.
My last remaining aunt died yesterday. She was 96 and I loved her so I am sad. Ate a bit more than usual yesterday but today I find that all that walking and being careful have paid off and I have lost 4 lbs this week! Feeling good and positive.

I last posted 6 days ago and nobody seems to have posted anything since. Helloooo? Is anybody there?
Perhaps this thread has died? What can I do? Look for another thread? A pity because I was really enjoying this one. Is this what usually happens?
Am coasting along nicely with the 5:2 diet and wondering about all of you and how you are?

    Hi Curiouser,
Hope the thread is not dead, just having some peace and quiet. We just welcomed the year of the rooster (yesterday was the first day of the new year). It was not noisy as usual as the authorities have forbidden the fireworks in the city centre, though it was not strictly kept. The pollution skyrocketed within hours, but today the air is clean. Many factories around Beijing have been closed, as they are using very low grade coal for fuel. Cars are not such a big problem.
My New Year decoration is still around because of the double new year celebration, even though some of it now is Chinese style.
Despite the visit to a Chinese restaurant on new year’s eve, this morning the scale showed 1.3kg loss, which made me very happy. My goal is about two kg/month, so by the end of June I would be able to wear the lovely silk clothes I ordered from the states and which came about two sizes smaller than expected. I do feel much better now, the life belt around my waist has deflated a bit and the pants are loose. I am a big bosomed lady and hope to decrease the chest measurement considerably, we are doing 4:3 with 24-hour fasts, which works perfectly for us. Keep in touch!

Hi, from New Jersey. Nothing to report really, as were finding it difficult to stock to our routine. I’m still doing 16:8 fairly easily and am pleased to say that I’ve put on two pounds.

Not as mad as it might seem – 20 years ago, on the F Plan, I could not stop losing and became very scrawny. Of course, stopping meant reverting to a a slow gain. Hopefully, the fmexibyof this plan means I will stay within a few pounds of target.

It must be lovely to be in China for the New Year celebrations, bjanna.

Keep coasting, curiouser! You’ll get there!

    Pol. 💁🏼

    Hi Bjanna and Pollypenny!
Good to hear from you – it’s great to know that this is a trans-global thread! Very happy to hear that you’re both doing well too.i had a carb, fat and sugar feast this morning – toast, butter and marmalade – after a week of no bread, litttle butter and no sugar. It tasted wonderful and I was able to go back to bed & sleep for another 3 hours – haven’t had enough sleep this week.
Am weighing myself tomorrow so will find out then how I’ve done. Have a nice day everyone!

Just a little treat once a week is fine, I’m sure. While here in the USA, I could easily buy, and eat, a Hershey bar every day! I will buy one to take home while at Philly airport on Monday.

Watching a film with the boys now. Peaceful, after stories and games of monsters!

    Pol 💁🏼

    Hi Curiouser-

I completely agree! I’d hate to lose this thread!

I was posting the hello-where-are-you notes some weeks ago but I thought the lack of response meant disinterest so I stopped.

I’ll post with you if you like. The more frequently something is posted, the more people have an opportunity to see that the tread exists and have an option to contribute.

I don’t think it’ all has to be IF related. One of my other favorite threads that’s gone inactive was once very chatty and conversational with just what was up in our lives. We *are* more than our food and waistlines, after all. 😉

    Hi everyone!

I agree–it would be a shame to lose this thread. Lots of lovely, helpful & inspirational ladies here who I really enjoy connecting with…you are all wonderful. I know for me, my absence is due to being so caught up with all the stress of the new US president that I’m off track on just about everything in my life. We’re so worried about the future. BUT, I’ve decided to turn away from media for awhile and get my balance back.

I haven’t fasted for two weeks. But, today I AM fasting and will get back on track. Yesterday, my husband and I went to an “open house” of our community center, which just underwent a remodel and added new options to stay fit–cycling, Pilates, new weight machines, etc. Best part of all, because we are entitled to “Silver Sneakers” benefits through Medicare & our insurance, our membership and class fees are waived! So, I’m now signed up for a Zumba class and my husband and I will take a Hatha Yoga/stretch class on Thursdays. My husband and I are both tennis players–he plays very competitively–but we are signing up for a mixed doubles team for the Spring. I stopped playing when I completely ruptured my achilles tendon on the tennis court…that was 4 years ago! So, now I have something to work toward–the goal of getting back on the tennis court by end of February. Fingers crossed I get there. I still have a lot of fear from that injury, thinking it could happen again.

LA, I agree with you 100%–we ARE more than our food and waistlines and I like hearing about what others are doing and thinking…(I really enjoyed the recipes you posted, btw). On another thread, a comment was made about our mentioning the election and another poster (from Indiana, I think) told us to shush. I noticed her comment was removed, so that was reassuring that we can talk about more than IF. Afterall, we are so much more and we should be free to express whatever is going on in our lives…because it does influence everything else. Sharing is a good thing and with this group especially.

Hope you all are having a peaceful Sunday…

Well OH is at this moment reading and drooling over Mimi’s new recipe book, which we brought to Princeton with us and not used. He’s planning for next week, when we’re back home and in routine.

I’m ploughing through books here. Yesterday I read The Farm, by Tom Robb Smith in a day. Excellent and what a twist. Are any of you readers?

I have to report that my Aran sweaters were appreciated for appearance, but the boys found the wool too itchy, 😩😩. So hours wasted!

    Pol. 💁🏼

Do you mean to say that you KNITTED sweaters, traveled across an ocean to deliver them and they said they were too itchy to wear? A friend in Canada has an Aran her mother knit for her — hell’s bells, she spun the yarn then knitted the sweater — and I’d kill to have it. It is a thing of beauty!

I’d murder them on the spot! 😏 Can they wash them with some fabric softener a couple times to soften them up? Or even put on a soft cotton shirt first?

I bet the sweaters are BEAUTIFUL and warm and the boys will catch on in time. And I bet they’re studying something other than diplomacy. 😝

I read when I can make time. I can’t read in bed because it puts me right to sleep! So I go an hour early to pick up my grandson from school and make a bit of quiet time for myself. Just yesterday finished a book I started before Christmas that sat in my car waiting for me until he was back in school and I was back on Grandma Duty — “The Storied Life of A.J. Fiery” by Gabrielle Zevin. It’s a sweet bit of “Silas Marner” with a very poignant twist at the end that really socked me. (That’s “socked me”. It shocked me too I suppose but it was a real emotional blow however beautifully constructed.)

Polly, I’m sure the Aran sweaters you knitted are beautiful–they are a rare & most generous treat. What a thoughtful gift! I remain envious of your extended stay in NJ, in an especially beautiful part of the state. Safe travels home on Monday!

Well I am delighted to hear from all of you and to find out that you’re in such good fettle!
I have lost another 2 lbs after a very busy week of interviews and training for voluntary work as a Home Support person to families who have a child who is dying. Such an amazing inspirational organisation- my last interview is today so fingers-crossed that they will accept me. I am demonstrating with friends outside Downing Street this evening to protest against Trump ‘s racist ban. If enough of my political choir turn up we will sing protest songs too.

LA, the boys are 3 and 5. They do have done skin problems, though, so I understand. The sweaters are hooded jackets do maybe daughter-in-law will be more persuasive than I. I never knew what to put on the customers form when coming into the USA. I usually just ignore my knitted stuff.

Well done on 2lbs lost, curioser. I wish I could join you at the demo. Son has just posted an excellent article on how to deal with Trump ( from The International, I think). Odious man. Trump, not my son! 😊

Next post will be from North Wales.
    Pol 💁🏼

No, it’s not just you. The Fast Diet made it easier to lose weight, but I find that it is also very easy at this age to regain weight. There is no reaching a weight goal and feeling that the job is done. In order not to regain it, I am going to need a life-long maintenance plan.

I tell what help lose weight at our ages! Colonoscopy prep….oh my….three pounds just whooshed away. Colonoscopy at 11:15, followed by an upper endoscopy. Oh joy.

I know why I’ve been eating…overeating since election day. The anxiety of what happening in our nation is killing me. Marching, calling my elected officials, can I live this way for four years?

Polly, do the sweaters itch over t-shirts? Will they become softer after sitting in Soak for a while? All the work…

    Pol-

So happy to hear that it’s younger boys! I had imagined you were visiting sons in college. The candor of little ones is really quite a precious thing. 😏 …and that’s a lot less knitting, thank goodness. I’m sure your d-i-l will work it out with them.

Would love a link to that article your son pointed out. And soooo very glad that we can discuss this here. It’s distressing beyond measure and all of us have to be on our guard to prevent anything we can that doesn’t represent what we’ve believed America to be for our whole lives.

My neighborhood network has completely blown up over this. I have been happy and grateful to live in what I thought was a live-and-let-live place for a couple decades. Since the Women’s March people have been trying to silence any political discussion whatever. It’s very chilling to find xenophobes and misanthropes right in my backyard! Thank god for a UK forum that’s able to be honest about what a nightmare this is!!!

Last night my husband was returning home from a week away for work. He was detained 90 minutes on the tarmac and then another couple hours trying to connect with his ride home because of protests at the airport. Ironically, 2 of our daughters and a boyfriend were among the protesters and at least being sympathetic with the intent helped him deal with it.

Chub, I’ve just tried to open the article again and ‘oops, something went wrong, unable to connect’. Strange, eh? Anyway, it was theatlantic.com. I don’t know if you can try get it. We’ve had a similar disconnecting, disconcerting experience over Brexit. People we thought were intelligent and open minded have shown the opposite. I suppose we were lucky to miss the demos at Philly airport!

I listened to Trump yesterday. GCSE grade D. He repeated himself, went off on tangents and used many fillers. In fact, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Home now. Still on Princeton time, but tired after night on plane, eating rubbish. And I have to confess to far too much wine. For once it was a decent Sauvignon Blanc and I accepted seconds, saying just half a glass. She filled it to the brim! Scales tomorrow, although OH is desperate for a curry tonight.

Re sweaters: I did was them and use conditioner. We will see.

    Pol. 🙋🏼

Hi All & a Happy New Year
I have been on 5:2 on and off (mostly on) for about 5 years now. I am hitting 60 this year and am so pleased to have found 5:2
It sorted the stubborn 6-7 llbs I could never loose on WW and now I use it to maintain my weight, rather than keep loosing, and also for the health benefits that it brings.
It is hard some days, easy others, I find it just depends a lot on what you ate the day before a fast, frame of mind etc. Make sure you drink lots of water on fast days, and plenty on non-fast days.
Good Luck everyone, stick to it

HI, Tina. Lovely to have you join us!

Thanks for the “Atlantic” link, Pol. Will put that on my reading list.

Yes, Trump’s inadequacy has been soooo apparent all along. He exists because he stirs up fear and hatred. It’s DISGUSTING that he’s appealed to so many!

Please, please, please can we stay Trump free on here – and Brexit in case anyone mentions it. It’s constant on the TV and on media sites etc so would be great to keep this site for much less painful subjects like 5:2 ; ))))))

Tina, I hear you and I am sorry if I am distressing you but we, in the US, are on the very verge of fascism. I think awareness of that and ACTION to prevent it is *essential*. His policies of fear mongering and division have to be resisted at every possible opportunity. Eliminating him and solidarity with democratic people around the globe, not making ourselves comfortable with or inspite of him, is what’s called for.

Feel free to report me and if the monitors want to delete my posts they will. But I can’t be silent when so much is at stake.

PS It’s not exactly a constant thread through the conversation here so a few posts are easily skipped over or forgotten.

I think that when the whole world is potentially menaced by fascism it’s ok to talk about it sometimes. And it does affect my eating pattern too. Our prime minister is now called Theresa the Appeaser because she won’t stand up to Trump. Thanks for the tip on the article Pollypenny. Will look it up.

Excuse Me? Who are you simcoeluv ?
LaChubster is a highly valued contributor to this thread and as an intelligent woman, her interests range widely. She has made some very helpful comments to me personally about the 5:2 diet and I am happy about her other comments too. I think it is a bit rich that you come and stick your oar in when as far as I can see you haven’t made 1 single comment about your own diet on this thread.

    simcoeluv,

I wouldn’t pretend for a minute that my views are anyone’s but mine.

I have been engaged in discussions about 5:2 and supporting my friends in it for about a year.

There are probably fewer than half a dozen comments from me that have anything to do with politics or the Women’s March amid 19 topics I’ve posted in and hundreds and hundreds of replies in support of IFing. I’d point out that you have contributed to this thread twice and once was to mischaracterize my posts in the most extreme and uncivil way possible.

I would invite you, too, to report my post. The monitors will decide what’s appropriate and I will abide by their decision. And if you would like to discuss my posts or my politics further my e-mail addie is [removed by moderator]. I won’t reply to you further in public so as not to contribute to a spirit of contention.

Thank you, Curiouser. Kind of you but probably best to let simcoeluv and I work this out in private e-mail and not increase the volume on this particular topic.

Your support is nevertheless very heartwarming and I appreciate it.

I just wanted to applaud Curiouser for supporting LA Chubster and also add how much I enjoy LA’s comments–all of them! I hope they don’t stop either! I think this thread deals with all of our day-to-day issues that impact our 5:2 progress, including the political challenges we’re dealing with on both sides of the pond. I don’t think anyone goes overboard and the conversation is intelligent and compelling and always ties back to the 5:2 diet.

Simcoeluv, I’ve appreciated your advice on other threads, as you really know your way around this way of eating. However, I’m sure you can see that we are a group of older women ( I think, no blokes), who have bonded over 5:2, problems of being older and talk politics as an aside.

It’s a bit rich when we welcome someone new, who says little about her experience, but immediately complains about our side topics. Interesting to hear that WW left you with a stubborn 7 lbs, Tina. Where are you, by the way?

Herm, great news on the house sale! I have a friend who wants to move to Cambridge, near daughter and son. However, they’ll get a small semi for the price of their big four bedroom here. I suppose it’s better when you’re leaving London.

Maintenance wise: On my own scales now and very happy! In spite of the rubbish food in airport and on plane, where I did indulge in the rather good Sauvignon Blanc, I’m still 128.5 lbs. I seem to have settled around that, which is what I was for years, before moving to a bungalow and a school where I didn’t needed to use the stairs. I don’t think I’d ever go back to eating three meals a day. 16:8 suits me well.

    Hi again,

Just logged back in again to find I have created some friction regarding my plea to be ‘Trump Free’ (and Brexit), so sorry for that. I did not realise this particular thread was more on the social side and that some of you are very familiar with each other’s threads, experiences etc. I was simply looking for tips related to my age and to ‘speak’ to like minded 5:2ers.

Sorry you find me a bit ‘rich’ PollyPenny, but this is an open forum and I am a new-comer as you point out. I think its a bit rich of you to to post what you did actually buy hey – freedom of speech and all that. You ask where I am, well I’m in the UK. Not sure why that’s relevant but I don’t want you to explain, nor am I asking for any replies as I will not post on this particular thread again.

I will stick to the thread about possible effects 5:2 may have with gout (which I posted on yesterday as well) which was another reason I looked at this particular thread, not to cause online rows.

Tina, first of all, please don’t think that you created friction in any way. You did NOT. The fact that people disagree is a universal and it’s very easy to misinterpret the *degree* to which they disagree in print. I always assume the discussion is going on at conversational levels and I’m sure it is.

Secondly, it really *is* a very small part of the discussion and I think it’s trailing off now as it would do in the normal course of events.

MOST importantly, you are MOST welcome here. We will be happy to support you in IF and give whatever tips we’ve accumulated. We will be *delighted* to have your company and will listen to your ideas and support you in your daily life and the individual interests that make you a lively and interesting person. I don’t think the comments about “isn’t it rich” were aimed at you at all! You have a perfect RIGHT to express your wish. I’m sorry that I feel so strongly that I had to say I’ve registered it but feel differently.

PLEASE find the spot on Fast Diet Forum where you feel happy and supported. If it’s here among strong women of your age group who respect one another for who we *are* rather than what we withhold, then we will be *enriched* by your company. And that’s the sincerest wish of my heart!

northrancher, so kind of you, my dear, to rush to my aid. I was hoping to keep that whole aside to a minimum so it’s completely appreciated but also completely unnecessary. 😏

Today’s a food day for me and I have some grilled salmon left over from last week so I’ll be making the following chowder and having it for dinner. It’s really rich and wonderful and satisfying and I really recommend it. It’s also super simple to put together.

The original recipe includes potatoes. I leave them out. And I add a few oysters and shrimp (chopped into bite-sized bits) to up the protein content and make it interesting. BTW, if any of you are in the US and have a Whole Foods, they will happily sell you 2 oysters (shucked and beautifully presented) or a few clams plus a few scallops plus a small handful of calamari if you’re doing a bouillabaisse or a seafood risotto. I LOVE them for that!

    Salmon Chowder

Good morning, all. Excellent post above, Chubster.

Tina, we support each other, understanding that there are some constraints, as well as advantages, of being over 60. And you are most welcome to join us. But no one subject is proscribed! Whether it’s politics or what we buy – and I don’t think I told anyone what they could buy, did I? It’s good to have another Brit on the thread. Any clues to where you are? The U.K. is big.

U3A Grumpy Old Women Lunch today. I’ll have a ‘lite bite’, which is pretty substantial, anyway. I’m sure you all can guess some of the topics for our vents.

    Pol. 💁🏼

Wow LA Chubster! That recipe sounds mouth-wateringly good. I love seafood and oysters always make me feel really well. Will see if I can find the ingredients here in London. And I endorse your words to Tina 8818 – you are very welcome here Tina!
Just to say too that I completely agree with Pollypenny – there is enough censorship going on in the world – at least on this thread let’s be free!

It really is, Curiouser. Do try it!

I would share more recipes — I LOVE cooking and baking — but my present diet consists mainly of salads and grilled salmon so I’m just not cooking much. But I really do encourage everyone to cook natural foods for themselves so they can eliminate those noxious hidden sugars along with all the preservative crap. …tho I do remember once reading that some of the preservative “crap” that goes into baked goods actually is helping people age better.

Ah, chemistry! It’s a double edged sword. 😏 Wish I understood something about it but I, foolishly, dropped out of chemistry class in high school and never pursued science beyond the basic requirements thereafter. So foolish not to have appreciated the potential to understand the world we live in…

Hi all! Today is a FD and I’m about to have my breakfast of oatmeal & blueberries, which I find very filling. This meal will last me until dinnertime. I was pleasantly surprised to find that after being way off track for a couple of weeks (no coincidence…since the inauguration), I didn’t gain weight! I’m still down 10 lbs and will go forward getting off the remaining 30.

That stew looks soooo yummy, LA Chubster. Anything with seafood and I’m all in! Think I’ll make it over the weekend. Thanks for sharing the recipe–it surely helps to hear what y’all are eating. And, I also want to add my thumbs up along with you, Pollypenny & Curiouser re/welcoming Tina. I also agree with the sentiment that “there is enough censorship going on in the world” as Curiouser said and this thread is a kind of safe zone to share. Maybe being over 60 really does have its privileges 😉

Happy Thursday to all. Have a good day or evening, wherever you may be in the world…

Nr, I bet you didn’t eat as much as previously even though you say you were off track. Being used to smaller portions really helps. I had a few chips with my ‘lite bite’ today. I prefer the fat British ones to those thin fries.

I’m also feeling pleased with myself. I usually forget about measuring, as well as being totally ashamed of my starting girth. I have lost 10 inches around my waist!!! Yippee!

In my heart, I knew that joking about my spare tyre was bigger than my bust and that I used to have a waist were the wrong things to take for granted! It took force-feeding in Ireland and a 4lbs gain in a week to make me face it.

Sorry, no recipes from me; I’m a boring cook. OH is creative, but does things at random, chucking herbs and spices in at will. Mimi’s book is now our bible. 😇

    Pol. 🙋🏼

Polly,I think you’re right. I probably didn’t eat nearly as much as I thought, but I did have sugary things, including 2 red velvet cupcakes at one sitting! Thought that was my tipping point 😉

You mentioned Mimi’s book…could you please share the name? Thank you!

Yay for you, Pol!!!! Ten inches is *major*! Sounds like we’re the same shape and, of course, those 10″ you lost around your middle are the ones that are doing the most to increase your best health.

I’ve always hated being Humpty Dumpty shaped but I was in a line the other day behind a woman who carried all her weight between her knees and her waist. She was pretty extreme and for the first time I considered how hard it must be for her to find clothes that fit. If I had to find jeans that would extend around my waist, at least I just had baggy legs to contend with. But I honestly don’t know how she could find things to fit around her bum.

Not meaning to be critical. Really. Science says she’s got better life prospects because her visceral fat isn’t around her organs like mine is. It was just an eye-opener for me. We’ve all got our issues and challenges. In the end, I guess I feel better that I’ve got mine.

But I digress. You’ve done a *wonderful* thing for yourself, Pol!

And, northrancher, we might as well face the fact that this isn’t a linear thing where we behave in a consistent way and make the same progress all the time. It’s a long term project over which we keep our eyes on our goal and keep going. That’s why I don’t weigh or count calories. I just focus on *being* better and, thank god!, this way of eating gives us soooo much positive feedback in the way we feel day-to-day.

Did you all get that *immediate* rush of well-being as soon as you started IF? I sure did! I was freakin’ *enormous*. And, at the beginning, my activity was setting a timer to get up and away from the computer every hour. I walked around my house for 5 minutes. That was probably 40 freakin’ minutes of strolling in an air conditioned house on a flat plane over the course of an entire day and inside I felt like I was suddenly *glowing* with well-being! Too funny to look back on it now but I am more grateful to Dr. Mosely and this forum than I can ever express!

Nr, our bible is ‘The Fast Diet Recipe book’, quite a big one, with great choices. We’ve just bought a second one called ‘Fast Cook’ , also by Mimi. We bought them from Amazon at a good price.

Lovely picture of you power walking around the house, chubster! I’m also grateful for this plan. And wondering why we didn’t start it as soon as daughter gave us the book two years earlier! The funny thing is that my friend, who arrived with a birthday present for me and refused a Welsh cake as she was on a fast day, hasn’t stuck to it!
