@stitchincarol thank you for the kudos, it is brilliant but not my idea; I got it from an IF virtual webinar that I attended recently. Amaryllis belladonna is a beautiful name, but like you I think Naked ladies sounds way more intriguing and fun!!!😁😁😁

I wish you a productive and fun day.

    Day 6, 2nd post

I hope everyone’s FD is going well.

I didn’t plan to fast today so I had a small breakfast and went later than expected for our lovely 11 km walk in sun and light rain. After coming back I only had yoghurt, berries and a few nuts. So I call it a FD800 day.

@i-hate-lettuce Is there a set date in GB to get your plants out in the garden? Here the skilled gardeners (not us!) wait until the days of the Frost Saints, St. Mamertus, St. Pancras, St. Serbatus, St. Boniface and St. Sophie are over. This year that will be after the 15th of May.

@daffodil2010 I hope your BP will stay stable, it would be nice if you could do without any medication.

@fivetwofan5252 Well, 800 cals is not that bad for a FD. I don’t think I would ever go overboard buying cleaning products but I go overboard with buying books.

@dvw Are you with me on tomorrow’s fast?

@stitchincarol Amaryllis Belladonna sounds so nice and decent, but Naked Ladies sounds like more fun. Do you have them in your garden?

@basyjames Happy Nurses day to you too! I’m a nurse too and I know @at also is. Sometimes I think it’s would be nice to know nothing about medicine but to know a bit about nursing can be very handy. My friends parents are 90 and 93 years old and only moved to a care home a few months ago. Her mother has dementia, her father is doing well. It’s so hard for him at the moment.

Thank you all so much for your reactions on my friend’s illness. My “It doesn’t look good” seems to have been an understatement. It’s as bad as it can get, it’s aggressive and invasive. Chemo and immune therapy starts next week, 4 times with a 3 week distance. CT-scan after 2 times to see if it does anything. With her stage 9% of the patients are still alive after a year, I hope she can beat that. It’s devastating but we’re determined to stay positive and make the most of the time left.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Cross fingers you’ll be able to stay off your BP meds, @Daffodil200.

Oh I laughed out loud, @fivetwofan5252 (sorry). After all our slagging of husbands who overshop, and yours only came home with one cuke! Ha ha!

After a week of rain (much needed so I am mindful not really to complain) we should have clear skies for the weekend. Hurrah.

Go you, @stitchincarol! Thank you! Oh no, there’s a place called Colon? I can see stand-up comedians having so much fun with that one.

Have a great weekend everyone – see you Monday (coz I’m really bad at logging in on the weekends…)

    Day 6 .. 2nd post

Today started well. The breakfast was mostly pastries which I really can’t stand so I only had a small quiche, a scone, and a 1 inch mini poppy seed muffin. I had counted on a larger breakfast so for lunch I only had prepared a boiled egg, some grapes, a piece of cheese and a banana around 3 in the afternoon. I thought I would do well at supper time, but my parents had pizza to offer and I caved in. That wouldn’t have been bad, but when I got home the snack monster took over big time. It was a hideous accident involving cheese dip, peanut butter sandwich, pizza rolls, ranch dip, and various other chips and naughty things. Thankfully, the milk had gone sour, so there was an end to the madness. The only saving grace is that I probably stayed under my tdee just because I ate very little until around 6 this evening. I work from home tomorrow, so after the disaster that was this evening and temptations that lurk in the house, I must be extra careful tomorrow in order to be mindful.

    Day 7 Melb Aust CD

Somehow got on the FD list yesterday – no, I didn’t fast, nor will I today, but it will be a CD, and that’s good enough for now.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Day 7, Emden Germany, FD

    Good morning everyone!

Not much happened between my last post and now, I slept. It’s raining again so I think today is a good day for some paint scraping and after that I’ll get the cleaning products out to do a bit of cleaning.

@stitchincarol I don’t think I can beat Colon! I also often wonder why it was so easy to keep my weight in the past. As I worked in hospital we didn’t have any sweets there, we only had cake when patients left to go home. The amount of sweets at my DH’s work (dialyses) is ridiculous and it’s provided by the company. I’m glad he doesn’t have a sweet tooth.

    Day 7 – Ireland – NFD

Hi all I’m to check in properly to this month’s challenge. Hi to all the new people!

Thank you @snowflake56 for hosting this month I am very sorry to hear about your good friend 💕
    .
My name is a play on words as I am a french speaker so “J’ai faim” means “I’m hungry” but also stands for Just Another Intermittent Fast And I’ll Maintain… I’m bobbing in and out of maintenance at the moment with the previous goal I had set but might review that this month and revise downwards.
I’m very active, with lots of muscle but carry weight in my hips and tummy.. unfortunately weight comes off my face first…
I love being outdoors even in our lovely Irish weather and cycle, walk, do Joe Wicks and some yoga at the moment but not enough… must do more 🧘‍♀️

I’m pretty much staying away from alcohol 🚫 so “on the dry” and have reduced added sugars ✅ as much as I can 😂 I have two auto immune conditions and alcohol and sugar cause flare ups… I’m falling off the sugar wagon more in Covid than ever before 🙄.

Life is for living and like others I tend to have one blowout (EFS) day a week.

To top it all off I’m definitely dealing with hormone depletion (I don’t like the word menopause) but seeing a specialist later this summer. This whole topic is all over our media at the moment which is fantastic- too long a taboo! 🤫

Have a lovely day everybody ☀️

    Day 7 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

So sorry to hear about your friend @snowflake, devastating news.

Hoping everyone is keeping well. After a blow out May weekend my weight shot up by 4lbs and hasn’t budged so I am moving in the very wrong direction after all this time 😨

I have invited my bubble friend over to me for dinner tonight -I have been going to her every Friday during lockdown, it’s gone on for months now, but this is the first time she has ventured over to me. Amazing what confidence a vaccine will do.

I will be registering for my jab on Monday, at last they are getting to the over 50’s. It would be great to be vaccinated before I have my appendix removed (June or July for that), but it would be great just to be vaccinated full stop.

I will have to knuckle down to losing weight, it’s getting ridiculous now.
Anyhoo, have a good weekend everybody

Day 7 – Lake District UK – NFD

    Good morning everyone,

Last of the forecast frosty mornings this morning, we’re heading for a wet weekend, but that means cloud cover and no frost, the greenhouse is going to have a few evictions tomorrow, just let tonight settle down first. Most gardeners tend to be typical British weather watchers 😉

Weekly weigh in morning, this morning saw me 1 lb down so am now back to within 1 lb of my target weight so quite happy and feeling very well. Going to celebrate with a new long circular walk this morning, over to Sawrey (Beatrix Potters home) then Claife Heights and back alongside Windermere.
Bit of trivia for you, there’s actually only one Lake in the Lake District ….
Yes it’s true, Bassenthwaite Lake, all the rest are either Tarns or Meres!

@snowflake56 – The only rule is the rule of weather regarding plants here, every year is different. This year we have had the most number of frosty mornings in April since records began. Last year was one of the warmer springs, however, my tomatoes were potted up about the same date as last year and I picked the first fruits on the 1st June. This year I have some ripening already?

    Take care all

    Day 7 UK NFD

Fine with the scales staying the same today , did have an extended weekend last week so the plan is stay steady this weekend and I’ll see a small drop next week – that’s the plan all I need to do is stick to it , easy right ?

    Day 7 – Canada – FD

    Happy Friday all.

Trying for another FD today. @snowflake56 thanks for adding me to the pocket list. I’m so sorry about your friend.

Yesterday I made some granola for the first time – oats, pecans, coconut, flax seed, brown sugar, maple syrup, etc, it’s delicious. Even though I baked it for too long and it was almost burnt I ate far too much. Oh well, today is another day.

    Have a great weekend everybody.

    Day 7 – USA/GA – NFD

Time for another mindful Friday. Today’s weigh-in: 224 lbs.

    ***

We head back to the hotel for a quick freshening up and walk back to our rooms. “What do you think they mean about…” Wesley is stopped by Lola’s left hand suddenly raising to a halt position. “Wesley, I don’t think I even want to conjecture who Harold is or why Megan thinks he is so awful.”

I enter the room and hang my wedding clothes in the closet. I enter the bathroom, turn on the sink and splash my face with cold water before turning the tap off again. I look up at myself, water dripping down my cheeks. How did we end up here? I’m not sure if this journey has been slow or speedy, but I think I’m a better person having made the decision to drive out here.

    ***

    Good luck today!

    Day 7 MN/USA FD

Quick check in today. I very much need a FD.

@snowflake56 – I am so sorry to hear how serious your friend’s condition is. I hope being here on this forum with us, your internet friends, will bring you some comfort. You and your friend are in my thoughts and prayers.

Day 7 – Rural Nebraska, USA – ?? no idea, lol

Yesterday’s FD seemed right on target (small amount of rotisserie chicken breast, lettuce with dressing, half a piece of bread–I couldn’t resist) but then I looked at the calories on the blue cheese dressing I so adore. Oops. But I didn’t eat anything else, so called it a solid victory, and was down a precise three pounds this morning.

Today? Not so easy. DH is taking me out tonight for Mother’s Day (it’ll be far too busy and crazy on Sunday), and we’re planning on oysters, and those are gloriously low calorie. But the rest of what we order? Who knows. And lunch? I’m thinking the rest of the romaine with dressing, but we know how many calories that can be, LOL! So, let’s see how much discipline I can find.

@basyjames Nice job on another pound down!

@snowflake56 We have the same frost day here in my part of Nebraska: May 15. You certainly CAN put plants in the ground before then, but frosts that late have been known to happen over the years, so you only do it if you’re willing to take a risk, or if you have some sort of protection for the plants. And I do have naked ladies in my garden; after saying it was too cold to garden the other day, I realized it was perfect weather for transplanting, so I moved them from a spot outside my kitchen door to the flower bed outside our fence along the alley; so far they look fine!

And, oh golly, @snowflake56, that’s so heartbreaking that the prognosis is so bleak. Even so, some do make it. Prayers for your friend, my friend.

@daffodil2010 I well know the frustration of not budging in weight over a long haul. Hang in there, keep working at it, examine all the places for excess calories, and success will come.

@i-hate-lettuce Someday I too will have a greenhouse and pick my first tomato on 1 June. What a luxury!

I need to get dressed and race out the door to practice at the high school for their graduation in a week. The band director’s daughter is graduating from college, so instead of band, they’re having a single piano–me. 🙂 It’s time I scoot!

    Day 8, FD 800, AUS

The end of my first week back on the daily FD800 plan, and already feeling so much better, psychologically as well as physically. I won’t be weighing myself this month as I don’t have scales where I am staying, but it’s interesting to me how quickly my relationship with my own body improves once I start treating it with more care.

I am doing intensive elderly parent care over this month, so it’s a real focus for me to look after my own health and we’ll being.

Hope everyone has nice weekend plans ahead!

    Day 8, Emden Germany, NFD

We’re having interesting weather at the moment, yesterday we had sunshine, rain and hail. Today starts with sunshine but later on heavy rain is expected.

@daffodil2010 How frustrating! Would it help to plan your meals? Ireland seems to be way ahead of Germany when it comes to vaccinating. Here the started with the over 60’s last week.

@brightonbelle Try to stay steady! I like to have a plan, without it I tend to raid the cupboards or the fridge.

@jaifaim Why is it more difficult for you now to stay away from sugar? We don’t have any sugary things in the house any more, apart from marmalade and jam which I don’t eat often. If I want something sweet now, I’ll have to make it. It works well for me and I know the craving will have passed before the food I made is ready to eat.

@dvw My DH used to make granola in pre Covid times. He always makes it for my SIL when we go there but we haven’t been there since last Summer. It’s weird how everything has changed in such a short time.

@northerndawn How good we can do a FD when we NEED it!

@i-hate-lettuce and @stitchincarol Thanks for the advice. I have tomatoes, Sweet Williams and a nasturtium (only 1 of 14 seeds came up) on the window sill that should go somewhere else. I want to put the small tomato plants and the nasturtium in pots, the Sweet Williams have to go in the garden so I think I’ll wait for a few more days.

Thank you all again for thinking of my friend and the prayers, I’m glad to have you here. The chemo and immune therapy are planned to start on Monday. Her health and well-being are deteriorating so fast, Thursday’s lab results are bad and yesterday she had a lot of pain. She doesn’t want to take the prescribed strong medication because then she’s not allowed to drive her car anymore. It’s just terrible.

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 8 – Ireland – NFD – 🌚 ➡️ ☀️

    Hi all!
It was an early start off with my sIster and niece to watch the sunrise on the beach 🌅 in aid of Pieta House here in Ireland.
The annual Darkness into Light official walk was cancelled again this year but we walked into the light (ah hem not really – atrocious weather 🌧) around 5.35am 💛 ☀️
The weather is bad but the sun is there somewhere – just hiding 😶‍🌫️
    Stay well everybody.

Day 8 – Lake District UK – NFD

    Good morning everyone

What a day yesterday, we went for a walk along the west side of Windermere, parked up at Ferry Nab and went up Claife Heights away from the lakeside, quite a steep climb the ‘direct route’ up into Beatrix Potter Country. There’s a sprinkling of small tarns when you get onto the tops but we hardly saw them, as it does here, the weather turned very quickly, there was a tremendous hail storm, came along in waves. We decided not to go to the hilltop at Latterbarrow, cut out about a mile so it wasn’t long before we were walking along the ridge back at the top of the woodland to get some shelter.
However as we got towards the footpath to descent towards Belle Landing the weather cleared as quickly as it arrived, we were soon wandering along in brilliant sunshine. It was still a really good wander as the views before and after the hail were magnificent, as was the well earned bacon and lettuce sandwich when we got back home!
Mrs IHL, was very suited when she realised she’d done almost 2k steps and burned just over 1000 calories.

Day off today, quick nip into town, its raining heavily so hope there’s going to be a gap at some stage today, some of the plants ARE leaving the greenhouse today!

    Take care all

    Day 8 – Canada – NFD

Just a quick hello to everybody. It’s a busy day. Hope everybody is well and staying strong 💪

    Day 8 – USA/GA – NFD

Scales weren’t sure, but were happy to give me a 224 lb weigh-in after two “good intentioned” days that were rather rocky with extra calories gobbled without thought (yes, the pie disappeared yesterday)! I need to be better today, as I’m sure I’ll be cooking something for mother’s day tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

    Day 8 MN/USA CD

Achieved a good FD under 500 cals yesterday. I’ll try to stay under 1200 today, as tomorrow we will be at DD’s home to celebrate Mother’s Day all together. Plenty of food and fun will be had. Taking the little girls mushroom hunting on our property today. They don’t really like to eat them, but they love to look for and find them.

Enjoy the weekend everyone, and Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.

    Day 8 – 2nd post

Got back from the supermarkets run. Naughty purchases: gourmet jelly beans, kettle crisps, cheddar-garlic cheese spread, Kroger brand frozen curly fries, Aldi’s brand of stove-top stuffing (mother’s day possibilities), a box of chiclets (Canel’s) from the dollar store, and a small Dr. Pepper (mom’s fault! LOL) Everything else was whole grains, milk, real cheese, fruits, and vegetables.

This is my post-shopping accountability list. I think I did better today!

    Day 8 USA – NFD

Doing quite well — getting my workouts and walking in as best I can. Hope everyone enjoys this weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all you mums out there. I’ve gotten presents and two beautiful vases of flowers from kiddos. Should be lovely weather.

@northgeorgia – had to chuckle at all your “naughty” purchases that all sound delicious. Now you have me looking for the Kroger brand of curly fries. I know the ones from Arby’s are quite delish! Lately my naughty vice has been a kind of cheese curl made by Dots from South Dakota. I first discovered their pretzels at DD’s but then found the cheese curls. Yummy!

    Onward and downward.

    Day 9, Emden Germany, NFD

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there!

The sun is out already so we’re going for an early long walk to the harbour today.

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 9 Melb Aust NFD

Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate it on the second Sunday of May. Does everyone? I know that’s the day for mother’s day in Australia and the US, but I somehow think mother’s day in ?Europe ?UK is another day. And Father’ day is all over the place. First Sunday in September in Australia.

Can our international community share the dates of their mother’s and father’s days, please?

Quietly living life at the moment. With dominant hand (left) in a splint due to broken bone, my activities are more limited than usual. I could probably drive, but have been advised against it, so depending on a friend for transport to all but walking distance places. Typing is 2-3 fingers on the right hand and one finger on the left. The splint gets in the way for the other fingers. So, typing is somewhat slow and tedious, but certainly easier than when I had a cast, so thankful for that.

However – 5:2! Must try to achieve at least a kg weight loss this month, so need to take it a little more seriously.

    Onward and downwards everyone!

Day 9 – Lake District UK – NFD

    Good morning everyone

Nipped out to the greenhouse first thing and the morning is lovely and warm, at last no sign of frost at all! Going to be a full day in the garden today, plants out and the greenhouse will be sorted!

Just noticed my last post was a bit wrong, Mrs IHL had done almost 20k steps for the walk and burned just over 1000 calories!

Going to finish coffee and crack on outdoors for the day before heading to friends for a meal this evening.

    Take care all.

    Day 9 – Canada – NFD

Good morning everybody. @betsylee – it’s Mother’s Day here too and Father’s Day is June 20th.

A bit damp out there today so maybe a short walk and a visit to my mom. I did a bit of weeding yesterday and now I need to start thinking about mowing the lawn. Too wet today but maybe I’ll put together my new lawn mower. This is only my second year in this home and last year I hired somebody to do the lawn, I’ll try it myself this year, wish me luck! 🙂 Hope everybody has a great day.

    Take care.

    USA. Day 9. NFD

    Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! 🌺

Hi Everyone. I am a returning faster having originally successfuly completed the 5:2 when it started.

I am in the UK, female and in my 50’s. Busy with work and kids not quite flown the nest and have been WFH for more than a year (also changed jobs in that time) and am only now, finally starting to meet people in person. I am well into the menopause years and often feel that my body is not my own. I like to try and keep active and have recently returning to running; something which I did for a long time and struggled to return to with a repeated calf injury. Having another go at getting back into it.

I have dabbled with fasting many times since and generally try to eat in a 12 hour window. I have gained weight over Covid and was doing doing a standard s/world type approach (essentially low fat), but I am just stuck I think. I did the Fast 800 but I am keen to just do the original fast of 500 cals 2 x days per week. Sensible eating on the other days, and not too much worry about the odd drink or pud.

Really keen to get back onto being active in the forum as I found it to be supportive in the past.

So Hi to you all and hope to be a regular visitor.
My first fast day will be tomorrow (none running day) and one when I know I will be very busy in work.

    Day 9 – USA/GA – NFD

Happy Mother’s Day. Bad food alert ahead LOL Yes, going to make some goodies for lunch for mama! So tomorrow may not be so good. And no, I was NOT mindful yesterday — barely managed to bump just within the 225 lb mark today. Tsk tsk. Still, I think I’ve done OK seeing as my last FD was Tuesday! Yikes! What a crazy week that was. Another crazy one awaits, but not as bad meal-wise. I will be doing 5:2 tomorrow and Wednesday. Still, 225 is the lowest I’ve ever weighed in on a Sunday, so it’s not all bad.

My one year anniversary on 5:2 is coming up this Tuesday!

    Day 10, Emden Germany, FD

    Good morning everyone!

@betsylee In the Netherlands and Germany Mother’s Day also was on yesterday but Father’s day in the Netherlands is on the 20th of June (my birthday) , in Germany it’s on the Ascension of Christ, so next Thursday. It’s good to have friends to help you, isn’t it?

@dvw Did you get the mowing done? I’ve never used the electric lawn mower, I have no idea how it works. I wouldn’t mind doing it but my DH likes to do it, it’s a manly job! I’m going for 3 FDs again this week, are you joining me again?

@i-hate-lettuce Finally you could start clearing the greenhouse, you must be so busy now. The weather here is very unpredictable at the moment, we go from warm to colder, from sunshine to rain . Mrs. IHL is good at burning calories while walking, Yesterday I had 16500 steps and my step counter told me I burnt 516 cals. That’s fine, I don’t walk for the calories but to remain muscle mass.

@timetochange Welcome back to our small group! As you were successful in the past, you know it will work if you stick to it. For me, posting daily and plan ahead helps. I added you to the spreadsheet in case you want to use it. Good luck and keep posting!

    Day 10 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Finally got my tomatoes transplanted into their final position this weekend, lots of shifting plants and pots about, DH putting up netting for the fruit bushes, just a busy gardening weekend, and a satisfying one at that.

I am only going to weigh myself once a week now, probably mid week, but take account of my waist and other measures. I am doing a new workout specific to menopausal women so on those days (only 3 days a week) I will focus on nutrition for healthy joints. So my FD’s will now be Tuesday and Thursday. It can be done.

I am measuring my BP daily every morning and evening, and it is so good to see that it is consistently at the almost ideal BP measure. Such a relief, hopefully I can stay off the BP meds and the spike was just (ha ha, “just”) the appendix bursting…..

@snowflake56, I didn’t realise Germany was behind Ireland in the vaccines, I suppose we here have been focussing on the UK and the US who are way ahead…..my sister in the US is younger than me but now fully vaccinated. Hey, we WILL all get there soon.

As for Mothers Day, that was a few weeks ago here in Ireland and I am sure, the U.K. Was it March?

    Have a great Monday everyone

Day 10 – Lake District UK – FD

    Good morning everyone

@snowflake56@daffodil2010 – Yes, glad to get the greenhouse sorted, very satisfying, but won’t be very long before it’s full again! Quick session of sowing more summer annuals to fill gaps ready to give to friends in a few weeks, they do germinate and grow so quickly now, so will be ready in no time.

FD today after a hilarious evening with a couple of friends yesterday and the odd beer or three, can’t beat it, roll on some warm weather when we can get together and sit out in the garden for lazy afternoons!

    Day 10 – UK – FD800

Just realised that I have not posted since Day 5!!!! how can that be??? Still here but some definitely some overindulgence on NFDs 🤭 So pressing my RESET button today and planning on doing FD800 x 5 this week just for a change – I see that @litprof is on FD800 but not sure if that is daily for the month??it’s good to mix and match things every now and then…..

Received my 2nd vaccine on Thursday and apart from a slight tenderness at the injection site no other side effects – OH got his yesterday and so far so good too!!

Weather has been a bit changeable around here and I have to admit that I have not been out for any walks worth mentioning since Day 5 but have done my zoom classes……not sure if I’ll get out today as weather forecast is for 50% probability of more rain showers……7am Broga class ✅ so that certainly woke me up so might just put the waterproofs on and get out there at some stage…..

Unfortunately my yoga classes are having a break this week, before going live next week but I won’t be joining until the new block starts mid June when I should hopefully be fully covered by my vaccine 🤞
I will have to motivate myself and try to follow some video yoga sessions until then…..luckily my Pilates, Aerobics and Broga sessions are continuing with zoom sessions for now 😊

Met with a couple of friends for a coffee and a lovely catch up yesterday in the garden of one of our local cafe – it was cloudy and a bit cool but we still managed a good 1.5hrs out there 😊

Hope all those in Australia and America and elsewhere who celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday had a lovely day 💐
@betsylee – Mothering Sunday has been celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lent, in the UK and Ireland, since the 16th century so this year it was on Sun Mar 14, and next year it will be on Sun Mar 27, 2022. Father’s Day is held on the third Sunday of June in the United Kingdom so this year it will be on Sunday, 20 June 2021

@betsylee – such a freak accident that led to your broken fingers….how lovely and supportive are your church and neighbours 🤗
@daffodil2010 – hope your BP medication trial is successful and leads to a reduction or stopping medications
@basyjames – you’re in such a good place and your positivity has inspired me to press my RESET button this week
@snowflake56 – so sorry to hear the outcome of your friend’s tests…..I love your positive statement “It’s devastating but we’re determined to stay positive and make the most of the time left” and so agree that’s exactly what she, her family and friends need – we are here for you my friend 🤗 and thank you for adding me to the pocket list x
@jaifaim – I admire you getting out around 5am to watch the sunrise on the beach 🌅 in aid of Pieta House here in Ireland despite atrocious weather 🌧 – it is for a good cause but I’m definitely not an early morning person!
@i-hate-lettuce – that is lovely walk you did on Day 8 and you certainly earned that bacon and lettuce sandwich when you got back home!!!
@northgeorgia – your confession re your naughty purchases made me smile
@timetochange – welcome back – you were with us briefly in Jan ’18?? joining these challenges are a great motivation and gives a sense of accountability, I have been with them since Nov ’16 and it has certainly helped me to reach and stay in maintenance

Talking of gardening things – I just collected my first rhubarb crop for the year, which is a bit later than previous years and not as plentiful – not sure if that is anything with the changeable weather – perhaps @i-hate-lettuce or other keen gardeners can tell me but they tasted just as nice as usual – I oven roasted mine with some sugar and crushed star anise – used some to top up our favourite ginger infused custard tart and the rest will be eaten for breakfast over porridge by OH and with yogurt by both of us

    Day 10, New Zealand, FD

I’m back from my bike trip, total 330km over 5 days. I did the same trip 5 years ago, but the trail hadn’t been completed then, so a lot of it was on the road. There are still some parts on the road, but there are several new sections that were great, awesome scenery, seeing parts of the country that previously weren’t accessible to the public. I haven’t lost any weight, but I’m happy to stay the same, plus I feel fitter. Hopefully I will be able to continue getting some cycling in over the winter.

    Day 10 – Ireland – FD 🚫 ✅ 🏋️‍♀️ 🤸🏻‍♀️

    Hi all!

I hope all those of you celebrating Mother’s Day yesterday had a lovely day!

Well that was a lovely weekend although the weather was very bizarre! We couldn’t see the sun on Saturday morning but we knew it was there and there were so many people out in yellow in the dark … very heartwarming 💛
@at I’m generally a morning person but finding it way more difficult these days 😬

I also have had my first vaccination having being called as part of the vulnerable group but my age group are now being called to register for vaccination so things are getting better although hopefully people don’t lose the run of themselves now … we still need to be careful but it does bring with it a huge sense of relief to have started the process at least..
I had a lovey lazy day afterwards and then had some lovely catch-ups yesterday.. I’m tired though but no other symptoms..

@snowflake56 yes the trick is not to have sweet treats or crisps in the house… it’s the only way for me but think I’m in a good mind frame now after falling off the rails… I think I just get to a point where I am doing really well and think I can have a treat..that’s ok.. I can have some cake but I just can’t really have jellies or chocolate in the house… the problem then is when people call I have no nice treats for them 🙄
@daffodil2010 – your new plan sounds good. I hope it goes really well for you! And 🤞 for the BP!
@betsylee I hope you are feeling better and that typing gets easier for you.. mind yourself 💕

Welcome back @timetochange! Great moniker!!! Time for me to change too 🤣and i have a catch up with friends in two weekends time and I want to keep the shape I’ve worked hard to achieve…

I am going back to using my little emojis so that I apply myself a little more:no alcohol 🚫, no added sugars ✅ and exercise every day 🏋️‍♀️ 🤸🏻‍♀️

Resetting with you @brightonbelle and everyone else.

    I can do this 💪

    Good morning everybody.

@snowflake56 – yes I’ll join you for MWF fasts this week. I finally assembled the mower and hope to get out there today. It’s been too wet but there might be a window today. 🤞

@brightonbelle – I too have to reset, I had an over indulgent weekend.

    Day 10 – UK- FD
Happy Monday everyone. My plans to post every day have gone out of the window. I either forget or am too busy when I remember.
Not much to report apart from it’s been going fairly well. I’ve managed to keep under 500 on all my FDs and have only had a couple of days when I’ve gone over my TDEE, once by quite a lot- Friday sour dough pizza and beer, and once by just a little. The rest of the time I’ve been well below. It seems to have paid off as I’m down 4 lbs since the start of the month.
I find the evenings after dinner the hardest on FDs which means I’m probably doing the right thing in not eating until as late as possible and then having a relatively early night.

@wacm. Your trip sounds fantastic. I’m looking forward to cycling in Devon in a couple of months but I definitely won’t be putting in the same number of Kms.

@daffodil2010. Glad your BP is behaving now you’re off your meds.

@northgeorgia. Congrats on your upcoming 1 year anniversary!

    Day 10 – USA/GA – FD

Ughh… expected Mother’s Day sabotage with a 227 weigh-in today. That’s OK. Time for the FDs to resume and mindful weekdays ahead. I can do this.

Good luck to all of us on the pocket lists today!

    Day 10 AUS FD800

Just finished my first week on the daily FD800 plan. Closing the kitchen at 780 cals today.

@at I am doing this 5 days/week, and letting the weekends be a little more relaxed. Keeping under my BMR then, though.

I managed to jump on some scales today (I am away from home this month), and see am down 1k in the last week. Woot.

I have another 0.5k to get to where I was at the start of last month, though, but after that the downward trajectory resumes.

    Onwards and downwards, friends!

    USA. Day 10. FD800

I read everyone’s posts but can’t respond right now. Spring has gotten me so busy! In any case, I am glad to see more and more people here have been able to get their vaccines. I can’t wait to see this over and a return to. normal life. Hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day!

Day 10 North Canton OH FD

So the most intense portion of my project is over and now the audit. I hope to be more present on the forum going forward, and in my life in general
@at thank you for the comments on positivity. I need it badly, and I know the world needs it too.

@snowflake56 just heartbroken for your friend, the worst part is having to choose between pain and function. That sucks! I will keep you both in my prayers. I am also join you for MWF this week. We can do it!

I wish I could say that I exercised some restraint over Mother’s day weekend. But I did not. We got some bad news on Friday, DH was laid off work. He has been with the company for 13 years, and was a hard worker; always the first in and the last out. I was always telling him to find balance and he was always telling me that there was just too much to do. It was a business decision, nothing personal and so I am trying not to take it personally and it is what it is. He told me he feels free and he actually looks lighter, like a weight has been taken off. So I am happy for him, and I hope he finds something soon that is a better fit for him and our family. When a door closes, sometimes it allows us to see the open windows.

@northgeorgia 1 year following this WOL? Congratulations!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    Hi everyone.
    Monday, Uk, FD
Went really well, surprisingly so having not fasted for so long.
Running day tomorrow so might make my next fast on Wed, so I can run again on Thursday.
I just need to eat very mindfully on the other days.
It’s National Mental Health Awareness Week jn the Uk and I do find that how I am feeling about food can impact my mental health.
I will be running in the woods close to my home tomorrow and breathing in all the smells of the wood makes me feels good.

Can I ask if anyone is counting TDEE cals on NF days? I was thinking of using my app to do this so I am careful not to consume too many calories on NF days.

Have a great day tomorrow. I shall enjoy some breakfast post my run and before I sit at my desk at home and start work for the day.

    Day 11, AUS FD800

Quick morning check in for accountability here.

I am not finding the daily FD800 plan hard to follow, even though the weather is getting colder here. And physically I feel so much better when not bloated all the time.

Busy day ahead. Hope everyone on FDs has a good one. And those not fasting, enjoy your nice meals!

    Day 11, NFD, Aus

Yesterday was an OMAD but what a huge pub meal I had. Definitely over TDEE and feeling it today. Planning on salads for lunch/dinner to try and even out the mess. Mojo has stayed home and I’m travelling again. I must remember to pack my mojo when I’m away again next week.

Sorry, no time for longer post and will try and catch up with everyone’s news later.

    Day 11, Emden Germany, NFD

My FD didn’t happen yesterday. I peeled peanuts to make peanut butter and mindlessly ate them. Oh well, tomorrow I’ll try to stick to the plan. I’m under my goal weight so it’s fine.

@daffodil2010 In Germany they argue about everything and the priority list changes every week which makes it difficult for the ones giving out the vaccinations. How interesting there are special workouts for menopausal women. Where lies the difference? It’s good to read your BP is back to normal again.

@i-hate-lettuce It must be so satisfying to put the plants from the greenhouse in the garden.

@at and @basyjames My friend was so sick and miserable over the weekend, it’s hard to see her like that. Yesterday morning she was feeling better and in a better mental state to have her first immune- and chemo therapy. It all went smoothly, she slept most of the time and was able to eat. At our video chat late afternoon she was tired but looked like her old self again.

@at I can’t remember when I normally collect rhubarb (a keen gardener knows this so not me!), it still looks small.

@brightonbelle A lot of us need the reset button on Mondays, I like this long pocket list.

@wacm Welcome back from your trip, it must have been lovely.

@jaifaim I really can’t have any sweets in the house, I know by know I can resist it for a while but at some point I get weak because I know it’s in the cupboard and eat it. If someone unexpectedly shows up (doesn’t happen at the moment), we offer them nuts or fruit. I hope, they come to see us, not to nibble on cookies. The small ones from next door always get fruit, they don’t get much sugar at home. I like your use of emojis!

@dvw Did you manage to mow the lawn?

@brewster Just post as you can, you seems to do well!

    @northgeorgia Happy 1st year anniversary!

@litprof What a good result you have doing FD800! I tried to do it but was hungry all the time.

@ccco It would be so nice to have everything back to normal again, it’s such a strange life now.

@basyjames I’m sorry about your DH’s lay off but it seems it took a lot of pressure of him. Is it hard to find a similar position without the pressure and a better work/life balance in your area?

@timetochange I only look at the calorie content of new meals we cook as I know the calories of the familiar meals. I eat small portions and as long I don’t snack between the meals I know I’ll stay under my TDEE.

@penz Just try to make wise decisions and perhaps smaller portions. I know, easier said than done.

    Pocket list day 11
    @daffodil2010
    @litprof FD800

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 11 – UK -NFD.

Quick update before I’m off on my travels for the day. The FD went well yesterday again. It does seem to be getting easier. I kept just below the 500 and drank lots of water.

@timetochange. I calorie count to my TDEE on non fast days. I use the nhs app and just note down the calories of meals, snacks and drinks. It’s not very sophisticated but it does the job. I also have the Pinch of Nom recipe books and they’re all calorie counted so I don’t have to work out the calories for every meal. BBC Good Food web site also has calories listed in their recipes. TBH I find it difficult to get to my calorie limit some days as my TDEE is quite high at 1800.

@penz. I suspect I’ll be in the same boat when the pubs and restaurants open here fully next week. Will power usually goes out of the window when faced with a menu full of goodies!

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Day 11 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD

Thank you so much @snowflake56 for putting me on the pocket list already, now that’s the motivation I need to do a food FD 👍

Back to ZBC, then a bovril at lunch, and a vegetable and lentil soup made for evening meal. Lots of water, green tea, etc etc.

I know I seem to be moaning a lot here, sorry, but remember a couple of weeks ago I was complaining of foot pain that seemed like plantar fasciitis? Some of you kindly commiserated ( having suffered yourselves), and some of you suggested foot support insoles. I did get some over the weekend but unfortunately it made my foot worse b

The pain has gone from being in the soles of both feet (when I was off sick and taking antibiotics) to now just being in my left heel. Argh. I am beginning to wonder if it’s anything to do with the antibiotics.

I will bimble on, if it’s gets worse I will have to see a doctor or chiropodist or something but feel I have enough going on medically without taking foot issue on board as well. Head in sand? Or stubborn?

    Have a great Tuesday everyone.
