  • Good Morning all,

I woke up like a storm had past and the sun is shining.

4th of July Weekend here and I’m determined to Not make it an excuse to just eat everything for three days. It also happens to be my husband’s birthday on the 4th … And he’s a twin. So this weekend has ruined quite a lot of good health momentums in years past.

Got on the scales today after such a great fast and still not below 136! It’s like a wall I can’t get past!!!
(I’m very small boned and only 5’3″ so this is a lot of extra weight for me)

But…. I feel thinner, and clothes feel better…so I think I am right on the edge of dropping. I shall stick with it!

    Have a good day everyone!

    Good Morning Tribe,
Gorgeous day here! Finally some rain yesterday and I love the smell of earth and the plants …

Celebrating FD 16th and tomorrow I will post you about my number ๐Ÿ‘. This WOL has giving me the chance to understand and learn about my deep self. It took me a while to put all those pounds on so I should be nice to myself.
There are no plans for any celebration for the 4th but for sure I would like to be invited.
Lots of little things to do here today.
Jo my cousin who’s I am going to London with her husband did his doctorate in London so she know the City very well. The date is from 15 to 22.
Menu today will be a beautiful salad with grilled shrimp ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹
    Talk to you later

    Good evening All,
Very positive day, weeding finished, well one bed, another great win in my match and niw off to the cinema for a good laugh.

Sorry HCB – I will miss you, what a shame.

    Have a great Sunday friends

We are currently hand rearing and bottle feeding two orphan lambs that now live in the laundry and sun room here every 4 hours ๐Ÿ˜ฏ yfee enjoys this very much I on the other hand find it very tricky to stay focussed on the livestock and not what it may taste like in a few monthsโ€™ time ๐Ÿ˜‰ Its yfee birthday today so as is customary itโ€™s a shed gathering and a pooled lunch of hotpot and mystery stew ๐Ÿ˜† and future DIL attempting first ever black forest cake for the birthday cake and is not renown for her success however gets many points for effort. The political front is a mess who knew so we are all asleep at the wheel as we speak, good effort again by the pies last night Nama and the crows play the dees today of course it will be on the big screen in the shed with 8ball and darts competition going on as well the 5 boys still love and enjoying not only beating me but smashing me. Of course I remind them that it was me who taught them everything they know but not everything I know game on ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Happy Sunday Fast Friends
    RT

Wish her a fabulous day from the team here, RT. And well done on future DIL trying to fit into the family provisioning.

Another beautiful winter’s day in sunny Wellington, washing dry on the line, more ivy has hit the wheelie bin, local teams (rugby union and league) winners last night, chicken is in the oven, all good with the world.

    cheers, all. ๐Ÿ™‚

I spent all day yesterday (8am to 6pm) standing right next to a sausage sizzle as I worked at a polling booth.
For non Aussies….our polling places for elections are usually at local schools and church halls.
They use the captive crowd (we have compulsory voting) to do a bit of fundraising with sausages in buns and homemade cakes.
Certainly tests the resolve. I won with flying colours! ! P โ˜บ

Ah. That explains the sausages to be seen on every news shot on the election coverage last night. Strength to you, P. Not sure about the Aussie voters, though, but I suppose with the choice you had….

    Hi PVE,
I go through the sausage cooking trial every week at bowls. Thursday night I cook for the men’s games, hot dogs with quality butcher bangers. The smell is divine but as a vegetarian ( mostly) I am not tempted. However the fried onions in a fresh roll are a different matter.

So if the voting is compulsory what happens to voters who miss it?
What actual percentage voting do you get?

The sun is shining here, not warm but at least it isn’t raining. Salad day for sure.
Keep strong Fasters. I will be doing a pre holiday fast starting tomorrow and hopefully lasting until Friday dinner. Plenty of drinking compulsory, mostly herb teas. I need a sucessful fast to get me back on track, I plan to still do 2 fast days per week whilst on holiday and stick to sensible eating on non fast days.
    Happy Sunday/Monday fasters.

    Hi Jo
I know what you mean. It IS the onion smell that is the killer.
Basically everyone turns up yo vote. If you don’t get your name crossed off, or use postal voting, you are fined. Mind you, people turn up, get their name crossed off and vote informally (as in writing ir draw abuse on the ballot form) intentionally. And some people have never registered to be on the electoral role, but still winge about the government! Go figure. The whole point is, you are much more likely to get a representative vote if everyone votes. We also have preferrential voting, so you work your way down the list from your favourite to your least favoured. That way your vote is not exhausted if your first choice doesn’t get a majority. It’s a great game too….deciding who you hate most!!!!
The result yesterday was so close, it may be days before someone forms a government.
Random fasting for me this week with a busy calendar. ..mostly skipping meals to allow for others. P โ˜บ

RT I just checked the scores, hope you can hold out til full time. We just got back from lunch in the city and there was an invasion of Crows fans on their way to the G, brightly coloured jumpers and scarves everywhere! Keep us posted about the lambs, how gorgeous. Your wife is softie too!
Congratulations Purple, those sausages smell so good! I dont enjoy going to Bunnings on the weekends for that very reason – cant get in the door without passing the BBQ. I have a theory that several foods actually smell better than they taste (even though they taste pretty good!) My list is coffee brewing, toast being buttered, onions frying and bacon cooking in any style! Interesting, they could all be a breakfast food!
We had glorious sunshine this weekend too Barata – don’t you appreciate it when its rare!
I saw Novak is out of Wimbledon Amazon, might be a good omen for Andy! I hope your poor feet feel better, what agony blisters can cause.
Good luck with the 5 day fast Jo, sounds daunting to me!

Even worse being stuck inside when the sun is so inviting, Nama. At least I have filed the last tax return (filing date 7 July), and did get out for a while, including a good walk with OH.

    Back to work tomorrow ๐Ÿ™

Of course! Forgot to wish you happy new (accountants) year, Barata! P

Hi everybody. Did a two day fast last week which seemed to make me very hungry all the rest of the week and made me eat more (no will power!). Thought I’d done really badly and nearly gave in and had a home made pizza, only changing my mind when I worked out the calories (over 2000). Worked the calories for the week as an average over seven days and it came to 2052 per day, the previous week it was 1894 per day. Only did one day of cycling the day we went to Morecambe, but still managed to lose 3lbs so am now down to 21st exactly (11lbs in three weeks). Happy fasting.

Our financial year ends on 31 March, P, but tax returns are to be filed by 7 July unless one has a tax agent (that’s where we step in at work – have until next 31 March for our clients). So it was just the personal stuff completed today.

Another evening of munching – my last weakness. At least these habits didn’t stop me from getting to goal, so can be incorporated in my regime. White wine this evening, to accompany the roast chicken! ๐Ÿ™‚ FD tomorrow.

Well done, Jim. It’s the big picture that is the important one, and gives encouragement to continue.

My brother was a chartered accountant Barata, so, in Aus, celebrated new year on June 30th.
Jim, learn to have a crash with something low carb, but still tasty ๐Ÿ˜‰
Also, try to keep it all easily “doable” in the early months. A 2 day fast is pushing the achievable. Do 5:2 101 until it is second nature. Then start tinkering with the edges. ๐Ÿ˜Š P

Jim, well done on the weight loss. I’d agree with P, keep it simple for now! Remember you’re making significant lifestyle changes, getting to grips with calories/ portion sizes/ making healthier food choices/ realising there’s trade offs and compromises to be made (is that pizza/ cake etc really worth the calories/ carbs/ insulin effect?), and intermittent fasting too. It’s going to take a while to lose the excess weight, be patient, use the journey to hone the skills you need to maintain that weight loss for life.

Btw, I’d put you in completely the wrong county! I assumed you must be on the Morecambe side of the Bay…. Do you look over Wastwater to the highest peak?

Oh, and a shout out for the Welsh football team for their amazing achievement in reaching the Euro 2016 semi-finals ๐Ÿ˜€ (Imaginary Welsh flag proudly waving here)

    And a men’s choir singing, Happy? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

P, if male voice choirs float your boat, imagine away ๐Ÿ˜€

    ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hello,
Looks like today won’t be that hot as the weather folks said. However this up coming week I hope they are wrong.

I keep my FD simple! My only food yesterday and was a special one was that usual salad, red onion, some saurkraut, 2tbsp of chickpeas, salt, olive oil and 6 beautiful large Cajun grilled shrimps.
The scale today spoke nicely with me 130.4 lbs๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. My plumbing system it’s so slow ๐Ÿ˜ฅ… Still some activity in transit.
Last year this time I was in the same situation! My sister and brother in law were here and I told them to help themselves when hungry also we did lots of walking.
This week with my guest here I will excuse myself and fast twice. Still 5 days left and not fasting in Englad.

RT – awww! How cute the little lamb ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹ also HB to your yfee.
Jo I don’t see a problem Fasting wholly on holy days. So many other good things to do besides eating all the time.

My selfsteem is very good! Only 5 lbs away from my goal. It’s only a real victory if I can maintain it for 1 year.

Happy Fasting everyone! This week we ALL will achieve ANY desired wish/goal.

    Back to you later ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹

Hi NSJ. When you say you did a ‘two day fast’, do you mean two consecutive days? I’m sure most people split them up, eg Mon/Wed or Tues/Fri. If so, no wonder you were famished! That’s just asking for trouble. If you really want to speed things up, rather do 4:3; but never two days in a row. Just a suggestion…

    FSF

Or even alternate day fasting. Usually the spin off after a fast is your body actually doesn’t feel very hungry the next day. You just naturally start reducing portions and frequency of eating. P
(Just fell asleep watching “The Queen at 90″…she has much more stamina than me!! ๐Ÿ˜‰) ‘night

    Afternoon all,

I was up with the lark this morning and out of the house. Kew Gardens opens at 10am but during summer months it opens at 8-10am for members only. I arranged to meet my friend who was delayed due to engineering works on the railway so I had a quiet solo walk before meeting her and we wandered around in the peace and quiet. It has been a hot and sunny nmorning and we had the best of the days weather. There is a large metal sculpture based on a beehive that was originally displayed at an exhibition in Madrid (?) It was dismantled and reassembled in Kew which is now its permanent home. It is wired up to one of the Kew beehives and the noise and movement of the bees within set off multicoloured LEDs and produce music withing the sculpture. It opened a couple of weeks ago and this morning was our first visit. It is fabulous and I am already looking forward to the next time.

A couple of months ago I saw one of the two pairs of swans on the lake with nine tiny cygnets and have seen them a couple of times since, but before my trip to Cornwall.
I was walking by the lake this morning and one of the adults was sitting on the path with only six cygnets. I was disappointed to think that they had lost three babies and moments later they appeared on the water with the other adult ๐Ÿ˜„ They are huge now and all looking very healthy.

It was so quiet this morning and I saw so many more birds than usual. Lots of Canada geese, mallard and other ducks and geese, 3 jays,2 of which were fledglings, crows, blackbirds, thrushes, robins, sparrows, and a very noisy peacock. I guess it was breakfast time. I’ll definitely go again in the early morning as it is a compleltely different experience from later in the day.

We went to our favourite tea room for bacon sarnies and coffee followed by a cream cake so that’s me done for the day as far as food is concerned.

I’m happy to be home in time for Peoples Sunday at Wimbledon ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

good afternoon everyone . I have put on about 4 pounds so I am on a strict FD today . I have been picking and that’s something I don’t normally do nowadays . I am a stress eater though and quite proud of myself really that I haven’t eaten everything in sight . I am maintaining so It won’t be hard to get it off again .
You were all chatting the other day about OH who helped out . When we were married in 1961 . I was the one who did all the shopping and the housework . BUT as time passed and we had the first 2 boys we started to share it . Then when our boys were 15 and 17 . I had another one . Ross was born with CP and it was hard work ( well worth it though) and Jim took on more of the housework to make things easier . My Mam actually bought him a DYson one year for Christmas and tied a big bow on it . . He is quite upset at the moment because I have to do the bins and the recycling and the washing ( he usually has all that done before I get up in the morning . I am actually enjoying it . I like housework ( I know a queer woman lol ) .Well not so much the actual doing it but the feeling of when its all done .

He is managing to have a shower now without feeling dizzy and he is managing a wet shave again . I cut his hair yesterday and he feels so much better for that too . He is starting to eat more too .
Amazon I would love to be able to walk round Kew gardens pal . RT a happy birthday to your lovely Yfee.
Just a wee add on . I taught our 2 eldest to clean and iron and cook Even taught them how to knit . ( they don’t knit know though) My Mam thought it terrible that I expected MEN to do that but their wives appreciated it . Ross was a different story and we did everything for him . He got his own home 4 years ago and he know does everything for himself . WE laugh about it all the time now . he always says he could always do it but why should he have as I did it first anyway . no fools are our boys .
    long post today lol

    Wee xxx

Freddie and PVE, you are right. It was a two day fast back to back, approximately 48 hours straight. I think I am doing what all beginners do and am trying to do everything at once. I think I’ll stick to one fast day a week and do some cycling three days a week. In the first couple of weeks I did this and that was when I was losing 4lbs a week, so I’ll continue with that until I am used to the fasts and can increase them to two separate days every week. I’m not sure I’d be able to do ADF or 4:3, it sounds very difficult.

Happy, yes I do look over Wastwater at the highest peak or at least I would if it wasn’t for the houses inbetween, which is why I have to stand on a chair. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Whichever way we go it takes us about 90 minutes to get out of Cumbria to the motorway and then about 30 minutes to get to Morecambe. We’re going again on Tuesday, we can’t resist the fish & chips.

    Hi Jim,

You have started well, 11lbs in 3 weeks is excellent. You should be able to manage 2 fasts per week soon and separate days is the best way forward. As Purple says, no need for you to do anything else than basic 5:2 in the first few months. After that you can re-assess.
Don’t forget to re-calculate your TDEE for every stone you lose as it’ll decrease and if you don’t eat a bit less on non FDs your weight loss will slow down or even stall.

FSF, two consecutive days isn’t that difficult, there are many who fast Monday and Tuesday every week as it suits their lifestyle.

Some good matches at Wimbledon today and they are now back on schedule. Exciting line-up for tomorrow. The forecast is for โ˜€โ›…โ˜€โ›…โ˜€ next week ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽพ

    Good evening all,

Good weight losses recorded, well done fasters.
Wee-don’t beat yourself up over 4 lb, you have been worried. It will be gone in a flash.
I don’t even have an excuse for my gains.

I have been in the garden for 6 hours, really hard work, I am exhausted. I even spent 3 hours in the garden(waste land) next door cutting down some overgrown scrubs/trees that drop all their leaves in our garden. The owner has done nothing to the land in 15 years, it’s criminal, 12 ft high weeds, nettles, grass, brambles. Council won’t do anything because it’s private land. Rubbish is dumped there too so it’s really hard to get through the site without breaking an ankle. It’s a prime coastal position, such a waste, the owner has building permission for a house but hasn’t got round to starting it. So as we have never had a response from him (about 50 messages left)we decided to cut the trees ourselves, too difficult from our side as it’s an 8 foot wall. The trees were 8 ft higher than our wall so it was alot of work. I have also been weeding, planting and clearing up in preparation for my garden group coming to lunch tomorrow. I am making vegetarian curry and jacket potatoes with garlic and chive naan bread. (None for me though but I will make it tonight and try it out) No pudding on offer either. We have a specialist talk about ‘Composting’. I hope it helps because I have so much grass and weeds to get rid of weekly. I have two green bins but they only collect every two weeks, when full I have to dump in my bonfire area.

I am only doing a long fast next week because I have two week holiday coming up and that usually spells disaster for me. Prevention is better than cure. I don’t think ‘no food’ fasting is that difficult if you keep drinking green tea and water. I would not recommend it to anyone new to fasting. I didn’t try it until I had done fasts for two years. Fasting is second nature now but I still have bad non fast days. Bread is usually the culprit, it’s so damn convenient to have a sandwich instead of a salad.

RT- I would love feeding baby lambs, well baby anything really, real softee. I have just agreed to help at a rescue centre from October for two half days per week, should be interesting.

It’s been a lovely sunny day today right up until now, nice breeze too, perfect for gardening and a game of bowls this morning.

Tomorrow morning I will need to clean and tidy the house, a woman’s work is never done. I will be up with the larks tomorrow. Amazon I agree early morning is the best time to spot birds. I often walk the dogs at 7 am, it’s great.

    Hi all,

Today it was a nice sunny afternoon here in the UK and it was ideal to clean the car!!
I fasted today so didnt eat all day and just finished my 300 cal tea. Ive managed day 3 of the 30 day shred too!

Im doing 4:3 at the mo, so an extra fast day for me this week.

A question for you all….on your non fast days, if you were to just have 2 meals, would you skip breakfast and have lunch and dinner or have breakfast, skip lunch and have dinner? I cant work out how to maximise the fasting windows and help me with staying within allowance.

    Hi Kay

Many of us don’t eat until lunch on non FDs and aim for a 16:8 eating window. It makes it so much easier not to over eat and it means a 16 hour fasting period in every 24.
I find that once I start eating I don’t want to stop so the longer I can wait until I eat the better and I start my day with a glass of water and two mugs of tea.
I also prefer to exercise on an empty stomach so go to the gym in the morning and rarely get home before lunchtime. If it is a FD I don’t eat until dinner so I get to have a decent sized meal and it means a 24 hour fasting period.

Breakfast is a habit and adults don’t need it but food manufacturers have brainwashed us into thinking we’ll expire if we don’t eat anything first thing.

    Hi Kay,
Since my largest meal of the day it’s dinner lately I am stretching my first meal as much as I can. My only sin it’s the milk in my coffee in the morning for NFD.
    B

Hello fast friends you know who you are ๐Ÿ˜‰ a clear sky and a mild day ahead here no rain forecast thanks for the HB wishes for yfee she had a great day and topped off with a surprise return home visit from the 4th son the Uni student and staying with us for a week lots of happy mum tears trust me. The crows did indeed โ€œget the job doneโ€ Nama it was a great battle with some really good skills and passages of play by gee the Demons are a way improved side this season IMO. Jojo the lambs are both cute soft both very loveable and adorable but bloody noisy when they think its their dinner time it is a two person operation as one is way more important than the other ๐Ÿ˜‰ certainly adds another dimension to our home right now. Future DIL did an amazing job with the black forest cake lots of sour cherries whipped cream and shaved chocolate etc unfortunately she wanted to take it to the next level and went one step too far seen a master chef episode with a shiny silky chocolate ganache poured on top of cakes and gateaux. So straight from microwave extremely hot poured on top of cold cream and shaved chocolate everything just slide off onto serving plate and breakfast bar leaving a plain chocolate sponge behind sitting on a lava of creamy chocolate. We still sang the song and had a great time will need to ramp up the fast this week as a result of yesterday so it will be 4-3 this week for me.
Ok Monday fast day letโ€™s get our fast on
    Peace RT

RT – I’m still laughing at the Black Forest sliding cake scene! Poor thing…almost had it.

Kay, I wait as long as my body will allow for my first meal on NFDs…time varies, then I proceed to break the fast with high nutrition. Green soup, salad, green juice …that way I make wiser choices the rest of the day or evening.

SlimJim, it seems you live in the county of my people…at least that’s what these fasters say. I think you got all sound advice on the fasting rhythm, so let me just say that I’m very jealous of the 11pounds in that time frame.

I did a half day fast today because of the holiday tomorrow n OH birthday. I’m making brownies per his request, veggie burgers and tater tots. Totally sinful but it’s his day. โ˜บ๏ธ We still haven’t figured out where to watch fireworks this year so I better go do some research.

Nite all. Happy fasting tomorrow for those without holidays.

I must admit I’ve never tried back-to-back FD’s. I’m, always so relieved the FD is over & I can eat ‘normally’ again! But I never wake up ravenous after a FD; so I may just try it, just to see how it goes. But not this week. I’m going away for a few days Wednesday, staying with friends. I’m bound to put on a pound or 3; so when I get back it may be the ideal time to try the two-in-a-row.

Fun, I have always seen that “not very hungry the day after a fast” as the very reason for spreading fast days out. It gives a couple of dips in appetite a week. Compressing the 2 fasts together means a longer period (5 straight days) of gradually increasing your consumption.
We discuss this often on the Maintenance Thread and all agree, regular fasts keep your other days in control.
We are all different. Just a thought. โ˜บ P

I agree, PVE! I’m sure I won’t be doing consecutive FD’s on a regular basis. Still, it’s nice to have options. That’s one of the great things about this way of eating – the flexibility. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Indeed! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Jo, love the irony that you think it’s criminal your neighbour doesn’t tidy his garden (not an offence), so you decided to trespass (break the law) to cut back his trees ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

No fasting for me today. I didn’t overeat at the weekend, so nicely in my maintenance range ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy fasting to those of you who are!

    Morning/evening all,

HCB, having milk in your coffee isn’t a sin on any day, and it isn’t as issue if you are thinking in terms of the fasting period unless you have a lot of milk ๐Ÿ™‚

It is a beautiful morning with a clear blue sky and ๐ŸŒž It is going to be hot by UK standards. I’ve been out in the garden watering the pots and surveying the small jungle that is my garden. Most things are in bloom so it is a riot of colour and perfume. My neighbour has replaced the dividing fence, the previous one was falling down ๐Ÿ˜† and it looks so much nicer now. When I planted the current border I tried to choose some plants that would attract pollinaters and I noticed lots of bees this morning so I’m feeling rather pleased with myself ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’ฎ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ

I am fasting today and shall succeed if it means taping my mouth……….

RT, your future DIL sounds delightful. Shame about the finishing touch on the cake being one too many but the effort she put into it for Mrs RT says a lot ๐Ÿ˜

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hi Amazon yes you are absolutely spot on our eldest lad has done very well and yes I think we will keep her ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‡๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜œโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ™

    Morning y’all

Happy n Jojo- i missed the irony till H pointed it out…laughing out loud now.

I tallied all my NFD calories for the week and i think Saturday night’s pizza ruined any chance for a loss. But it was such a glorious Vinyard with an amazing view- felt like i was in Italy for an evening. The wind was warm n magical- totally worth it.

Oh well, not gaing is always a positive.

Im considering Low Dose Naltrexone for my arm/shoulder as i am starting to get really irritated with the inability to exercise. Anyone try it or know someone who has? Research looks interesting.

    Good Morning
    Happy 4th July!
I am back to work after our July 1st long weekend. We were at friends home on beautiful Lake Huron and had great time. Stayed low carb high fat without trouble. Today is fast day, and will work in at least one more, with the rest of the 3 or 4 days 16:8.
Coffee, tea and water and later will have some tilapia fillets and veggie stir fry.
Enjoyed 3 KM work this morning, so sunny and beautiful. Much warmer today than it was on the weekend. Lake Huron has the most beautiful sunsets. Fireworks were this past Saturday, and in 6 different locations around the cove of beach we were at. We didn’t know where to look. So pretty on the water. They were supposed to be on Friday, but the weather was so cool, rainy, and very windy the fireworks were all postponed.
Back to work now, have great week.

Ah! 4th July. That would have been Amexit, wouldn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜‰
One of my kids’ birthday too…no…not called Sam. โ˜บ
Fasted each morning during the last week. Ate one big meal each day with visitors. And still well and truly at maintenance. So doable โ˜บ P

    Hello, hello
Day challenge number 1 really started yesterday. Posponing eating as I’ve been trying lately to narrow my feeding window. Pick up my cousin at JFK and after bbq at neighbors and honestly with that nice “bubbly” rose I went for it.
Phone rang at 7:30 w/ a common friend of us who was coming for a visit within one hour (pressureHCB freaked out), (pressureHCB let pour) ๐Ÿ‘… Went out for breakfast and I had 1 omelet. Next time I will use “let it pour” who cares ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.
Anyway it’s already advised here that tomorrow it’s my special salad day so my husband and cousin can eat and drink as much as they can.
    Talk to you tomorrow
    Xoxo

Purple lol not funny! Amexit… That would be chaos here. Most people have no clue but Brexit… Huuum I thing they meant br(Brazil)) exit ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
Today it’s also one of my nieces birthday’s birthday. Happy Birthday to your boy ๐Ÿฐ.

Hello all, just got home from 4th of july fireworks, 10:46 pm , trying to abstain from another brownie. So good.

Hardest part if summer over. One more burthday party and its free and fasting from there out!

    Nite. Def fasting tomorrow.

Happy, you are right of course but 15 years is long enough to wait for him to cut back his trees. Lock me up, I don’t care. At least I won’t be spending this Autumn sweeping up leaves everyday. The owner doesn’t even secure or visit the plot of land so to hell with him. I haven’t uprooted anything, just trimmed it lower than our wall, and building gutters which were getting damaged, it will all regrow in time.

Day 2 of fast, not hungry this morning but restless night due to loo visits. Last drink was 8 pm, might try 6 pm tonight. Weather grey and dull again.

Amazon-Andy’s match was brilliant last night, roll on the next round.

Must think about packing for Cornwall, guess its rain Mac and wellies. It will be a different view anyway and my SIL is a laugh. She does Weight Watchers so hopefully she won’t go too mad on the food while we are away. She is also a vegetarian so that makes it easier.

Happy Bump Day SH. Happy Tuesday NH.

    Hi Jojo,
Here in Aus we are permitted to cut any neighbours branches that intrude into our gardens. Also, if you own vacant land, you are obliged to mow it at least every summer as fire hazard reduction. Even in the suburbs. If you neglect to do this, you will receive a notice to do it and if you ignore the notice, the authorities go ahead and mow it and send you the bill. Sounds like you did your neighbour a favour!

My pregnant DIL is craving my home made Florentines this week, so I decided to bake them on a non FD! Why make things harder than they need be? Funny how they seem way too sweet these days. I wont be breast feeding any more babies to burn up calories, so best to avoid them in the first place!!

Glad to see our brat was put out by Andy, Amazon. Kyrgios may have talent, but he still has a lot of growing up to do.

    Hi all,

    Nama,
I don’t think Kyrgios is a brat, just a headstrong and extremely talented young man who hasn’t yet got his head aroung the fact that he needs to work harder and prepare for big matches or he’ll never get anywhere. He spent the hours before his match on an outside court watching Lleyton Hewitt play which is hardly ideal preparation for the biggest match of your career. He’ll get it eventually and either decide it isn’t for him or he’ll knuckle down and become the greatest Australian player for decades.
The media talked up his chances which made them all look stupid as he was never going to win the match.

Jo, you’ll need probably need a waterproof jacket for Cornwall but you won’t need wellies. The soil on the cliff paths was baked as hard as rock when we were there and judging by the tans on display the weather has been very good most of the time.

As for fasting, yesterday was yet another fail and that was due to boredom and a loss of motivation which I’ve been struggling with for the best part of two weeks.
Yesterday I arranged to see a couple of old friends at the end of August which has given me some motivation as I’ve not seen either of them since pre 5:2 days. I’ve also given myself a good talking to as I don’t want to be putting weight back on and having to lose it yet again ๐Ÿ˜ซ

I spent this morning at the gym as my poor battered big toe is much less painful and it survived being enclosed in a trainer. I had a good workout which I really enjoyed after struggling on the previous two occasions.
I am planning to go every day up to and including Friday which should help keep me busy and out of the kitchen.

Have a good one everybody ๐Ÿ˜œ

Jojo- I would have cut the dang tree down. Just laughed at the irony and the thought of you breaking and entering.

Here in Austin, (I know nothing about the rest of Texas) it is our responsibility to cut branches that come into our yard, even if they originate from the neighbors house. I thought that was weird at first but now that I see how fast trees grow here, I get it. And sometimes it’s great shade so I’d be upset if my neighbor took my shade.

I must do some really good fasting before my Elliot’s pool party on Sunday. Not because I’ll look much better, but because I know I’ll want some party food.

I had a real shock yesterday when I read the birthday card my OH got from his mother. It said happy 50th! I had no idea!!! I don’t keep track of ages, least of all mine. So I guess I’m heading there soon! I think we are just a year or two apart! Wow! I asked him how it felt. He said, “with all this fasting, I feel younger than last year”. That’s the attitude! ๐Ÿ˜Š I shall have the same.

Happy day all! Send me fasting strength, it’s usually harder after a holiday.

Nice attitude to aging, Slimn! ๐Ÿ˜Š Happy birthday to OH and good post festival fasting to you. P ๐Ÿ˜€

    Good Evening All,
Frustrating day but keeping busy, managing my fast well but not my mood. I could scream, just no patience at all, just like when I first started fasting, not like me at all, normally quite positive. Everything seems to be going wrong at the moment, things breaking, events being cancelled, friends having arguments, I sincerely hope tomorrow is better.
We still have swarms of Thunder Bugs (2 weeks now) around so being outside is not pleasant, they especially love my hair. I know they don’t bite but the crawling makes you itch all over. Also they have decimated my flowering plants. This isn’t helping my mood.

Long fasts have been sucessful before, energy giving in fact, not sure why this time is different or even if there is a connection. have a match tomorrow afternoon so I would like to be my usual cheerful self by then. Bad tempers lead to bad bowling and poor team spirit.

Thinking about it now it may be normal tea ‘withdrawal’ I have only had ‘green’ tea this time. It’s a thought anyway. I know that originally it was sugar withdrawal that made me bad tempered.

Nama- your regulations about mowing empty plots are great, we need some regulations here. I assure you I don’t want to do my neighbours maintenance but I also don’t want to live with the leaf droppings this Autumn. 200 hundred feet of dense hedge type shrubs drop mountains of leaves. We can cut off branches overhanging our gardens too but it isn’t easy to reach them, easier to cut from the other side. My hubby and I both got injured whilst doing the cutting back though as the footings are very dangerous. Fox holes and rubble, bramble, long grass and nettles, not pleasant. I wish the council would intervene but they are not interested.

SlimHealthy- plot next door is open fronted, no breaking and entering required just walking around. We have cleared about 30 ft so far so lots still to do. Great to see some skyline again.

Maybe I will just get an early night or two. Good Luck Fasters.
