  • Morning/evening all,

Jojo, I think the food options are there in Adelaide but it is knowing where to look as there is a lot of great fish and seafood in Adelaide and I’m sure there are numerous vegetarian options. Look on line for vegetarian restaurants.

Kangaroo Island is fab and I’m sure you’ll love it.

FD for me and as the sun is shining I’m going to Kew Gardens.

Have a good one everybody ?

Today has gone by in a flash!
Didn’t get my walk but got a lot of other things done.
Three fasts down, one more to go ?

Well Done Amazon! Are you doing four fasts this week? Your food bill will be very low!

I had a good fast yesterday and managed to get thru the usual difficult evening bit by getting out the sewing machine. Weemam is so right, it certainly distracts from hunger if the hands are busy creating. This meant I was exactly 1kg lighter today than yesterday morning, now I just have to tame the ‘bounces’ on non fast days!

Have a lovely day/evening all. RT I hope you have not evaporated!!

Not having my own computer in Christchurch stopped me from getting onto the thread.
    Congratulations, Amazon, on your discipline.
Interesting exchanges on a water fast. I might try in the summer, though 3 days could be a bit too much, but possible for one FD. Looking forward to feedback, RT.

For what it’s worth, I find fizzy water an enormous fasting tool anyway and I use water to get through to my one meal fast days.
I guess this comment is elementary now. I just realise how we have developed as a group, and I probably learnt this wisdom from you all a year ago and I am reminding myself about this by making this comment.
I am happy that OH has said I am back in fat-burning mode. Ketones in the air!
One of you mentioned a ketone counter on the thread, maybe you, Sarah. Can I ask you about this counter??
As a result of exchanges of this thread, I have started having miso soup on fast days if fizzy water is not enough.
It’s good to have a warm pick me up and thanks for this suggestion. Amazon I think advocated Miso soup. It was unprocurable in France anyway.
I am really back on track with 4:3 or ADF, depending on circumstances.
I have also gone back to eating in the early evening as we are staying with family, and the upside of this is that it’s easier to fall asleep.
FD today and good supplies of fizzy water and Miso soup, so no problem.
I have no scales at present, but I can feel that my body is leaner than 3 weeks ago.
Looking forward to Friday’s funny, RT!
    XX Wiwi

Rt well done to your lovely wife . Nice to share .

Amazon well done on the BTB

Nama YESS!!! to the sewing pal .. Jojo I am loving all the photos .

Everyone else please keep the posts coming as the brighten my day . Sorry I haven’t been posting as much lately . Been really busy with the man den . Jim is loving it but he hurt his back moving things . I am watching him like a hawk but he is such a gentleman he does things first all the time .

I am still busy with my crochet . I still can’t read a pattern but all the ideas keep going round in my head . I am back to my lowest weight again and loving it . I love that I like what I see . I don’t want to ever be skinny but I am happy to stay as I am .

Ross got a new washing machine . he has CP ( as most of you know . Not good with his hands but thought he would try to plumb it in . he flooded his kitchen ( now all fixed ) but I gave him 10 out of 10 for trying ,. I am so blessed with my family

keep loosing and be happy guys

Love to all . I think obout all of you all the time even if I don’t mention your name . Lots of senior moments lol 🙂 xx

    Wee xx

    Hi Nama,

I did B2B M/Tu and again today/tomorrow. That is more or less the plan between now and Christmas with a few tweaks to accomodate socialising. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up.

My fridge has lots of space at the moment!

I’m going to a wine tasting event on Saturday which should be good fun and I’ll need to eat so I don’t get squiffy! I’m also going to the tennis World Tour Finals next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. I go every year and am really looking forward to it so I’ll be fasting on Su/M and Th/F next week.

I weighed myself after my two day fast and my weight had gone up so I’m not weighing again until the end of the month as I find it really frustrating. I am taking anti inflammatories at the moment which tend to slow things down a bit. I’m not sure why, maybe they cause water retention, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know it works.

Distraction always helps, and I’ve kept busy since dinner.

    Hi Wiwi and Wee,

Wiwi, I don’t care for Miso, it must have been someone else. I drink coffee and fizzy water, and if I need savoury I have Bovril.

Ketones in the air, I like that ?

Wiwi, I have just noticed RT has posted his Friday Funnies on another thread (Sthn Hemispherites), obviously in error. I hope he is not having a brain fade due to 3 day fast!!!

Good morning all from chilly Adelaide.

I know spring is changeable but the weather has been very up and down in the past few days – 37C earlier in the week and now cloudy with a chill wind.
Jojo hope you have enough warm things for your KI trip, especially on the ferry. Had to smile about you needing cooler clothes, I’m sitting at my desk in trackies, sheepskin slippers (ugg boots – google it) and a warm top. Looking forward to meeting you, AO and Emel on Sunday – will bring my camera.

Wiwi, miso soup – maybe an eastern hemisphere thing? I love it, the one I have comes in little sachets of concentrate with dried seaweed in it – so tangy when something savoury is needed and only 28 calories.

Amazon, I also love Bovril. Your two B2Bs for the week are so impressive, I really admire your resolve. Mine is weak at present, after Mon-Tues, I struggle to last until 11am on Wednesdays for my coffee (end of 16hr fasting window). So, to echo our dear missing SAMM, just doing the doable. The tennis sounds lovely.

Nama, well done on staying busy with sewing. As I said above, struggling at the moment with non-FDs and trying to think (ie practice the 4Ds) before absent-mindedly reaching for something to eat. It works sometimes but caught myself with a biscuit in my mouth yesterday 🙁

Wee, your Jim sounds so much like Roger. He insists on carrying all the shopping to the car even though I’m perfectly capable. I tell him I feel like the ‘memsahib’ with her bearer following behind with the bags. Yesterday he led the way instead! Your handiwork creations are amazing – lovely that your arthritis has improved so much that you can produce them in such short time.

RT, hope all is well with the water-only fasting.

Edit: Nama our posts crossed. Will switch over to SH thread for RT’s Friday funnies – thanks for the tip-off.

Happy ‘POETS’ day all 😉 n xxx

Ralph is driving home one evening, when he suddenly realizes that it’s his daughter’s birthday and he hasn’t bought her a present. He drives to the mall, runs to the toy store, and says to the shop assistant, “How much is that Barbie in the window?” In a condescending manner, she says, “Which Barbie?” She continues, “We have Barbie Goes to the Gym for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Ball for $19.95, Barbie Goes Shopping for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Beach for $19.95, Barbie Goes Nightclubbing for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.00.” Ralph asks, “Why is the Divorced Barbie $265.00 when all the others are only $19.95?” “That’s obvious,” the saleslady says. “Divorced Barbie comes with Ken’s house, Ken’s car, Ken’s boat, Ken’s furniture…”

Have a happy weekend all you beautiful losers ?
    Peace RT

    Hi Amazon,
Yep taking anti- inflamatories will hold on to fluid everytime. Sadly now I am without acupuncture I am using pain killers and muscle relaxants nightly. I suspect I will run out as I have had to double the dose. No choice. At least I have my hot water bottle, patches both hot and cold for emergencies. I will be planning acupuncture weekly when I return because I hate living on pills.

On the Ferry at the moment, looking forward to seeing lots of sealife and animals.
Saw some kangaroos on my way here today because we were travelling early morning. Sorry, no photos as we didn’t stop. Sure you have all had enough of my pictures by now anyway. But I did promise Weeman I would post everything since she has no plans to travel this way.

Fasting is not on my agenda in Adelaide but I will get on it when I hit Sydney.

Ply and Smiffy, I hope you are both maintaining if not losing. I know you are both busy and can’t post often but just want you to know you are always in my thoughts.

Weemam, Amazon – sounds like you are both doing well.

Nama, Barbara and Wiwi, it was so great that I could meet you on this trip. Who would have thought two years ago when I started fasting that it would lead me to meeting friends on the other side of the world, crazy but good.

Baha i am losing my mind clearly day 3 😳 thanks Nama i will put together a small study of one overview tomorrow the water only fast is a very different beast.
Welcome to the city of churches Jojo and lots and lots of parks and trees just a big country town IMO
    RT

Will be very interested to hear all about it RT, admire your resolve! Dont go near any heavy machinery today!!

Have a wonderful time on Kangaroo Is Jojo, and I know you will love Adelaide, a beautiful city and very friendly people. The early morning kangaroos are the best thing about early morning road travel in Aus. We once saw so many on an outback drive, we thought we were in a Qantas ad!!

    Hello my dear friends,
I am so happy that everyone is still posting. I get every conversation on my phone, when I need a pick me up I read them. I finally did it, made it through a day of fasting. Stayed belowed 400 calories. I did really well. I would like to plan for another.
RT- I read your jokes to my husband and son, you bring us great entertainment. I am looking forward to your water only overview. I actually have that down as one of goals. It has been there now for two years.

Tangawiwi- There is a ketone breathalizer, you breath into it and it reads your ketone levels on the computer, and keeps track of it. This only costs 99US dollars, and it is on my list to buy. I think it helps to know what food affects our blood ketones.
You also mentioned wanting to fast for three days. Maybe we could set some specific days and see if others want to join and do it together.

Good night, good morning, and good afternoon.

I hope all our Scottish, Northern English and Welsh fasters are surviving the storm today. To care everyone. P

    Morning/evening all,

It’s a lovely sunny morning with a clear blue sky here in London. I’m off to the gym and then hoping to go for the walk I didn’t get around to yesterday.

Nicky, we have Ugg boots here too, the young girls all seem to love them.

My resolve is good this week so I’m making the most of it and hoping I can keep it up for a few weeks. My hip is improving slowly but surely so I just need my back to settle down and I’ll be very happy.

There is a golf course near my friend in Blackwood and wheneve we go past it in the morning there are more kangaroos than golfers!
When I arrived in Adelaide last year my friend decided that as I had spent two days on a train a walk in the fresh air was in order. We had been walking for five minutes and were on a path with a downward grassy slope and a line of trees at the bottom one one side of us. Lying under the trees in the shade was the biggest most magnificent looking kangaroo I’ve ever seen. I had seen lots of them in parks etc but they were all tame and seeing a wild one is always a wonderful experience.
On another walk we met a koala walking along the side of the road, and when he saw us he shinned up the nearest tree. Anyone would have thought he was surprised to see us, but I guess it is unusual to see pedestrians along that particular road Smiley

Hello all from a very wet and windy Wales. In between the storms it is bright and sunny, but oh how I envy you Fastrackers down under! Jojo, it’s lovely hearing your daily reports on your fantastic adventure.

We got here a couple of days later than planned because, added to the other recent problems, one of our dogs had two seizures over the weekend and we had to make a couple of trips to the vet for blood tests etc. Our female has already had a few during the summer, but now that our male also appears to be susceptible, it is very worrying. Our female has been put on medication and we are monitoring the other before we go down that route with him.

Apparently German Shepherds are one of the breeds that are prone to seizures and we know one of their brothers has suffered from them from the age of six months. OA – you probably know more about this than me. Have any of yours had similar?

On a positive side, I am back into fasting and am also trying to keep well under my TDEE in between. I’m in the Amazon camp so far as not weighing daily is concerned. Like her, I get very demoralised if I see nothing happening after a few good days and am very likely to reach for the wine and Kettle Chips.

We are getting some good walks in despite the storms as the forest which runs alongside the beach is very dense and provides good shelter, so hopefully that is all contributing to me being back on the straight and narrow. I’ve still got 5lbs (approx 2 kgs) to lose before I am back to my lowest weight since starting 5.2 but hope to be there before Christmas, then another 7 lbs to goal.

I must say it is lovely to have a complete break for a few days. My poor old Mum is still being rather negative about the rehabilitation centre but it sounds as if she is making good progress with the help of the physioterrorist. It’s such a pity that she can’t embrace the positive – the staff are lovely, her room is comfortable, the food is good, and there are only a few other ‘inmates’ in her wing. Everyone I have spoken to have had nothing but praise for the place and people that have been there for recuperation haven’t wanted to leave. I just hope a few more days will see her a little more settled before she goes home, hopefully and the end of next week.

Nama – sewing certainly helps me on fast days, as and when I make an effort to get out the sewing machine! I recently covered an old pine chest and made a piped cushion and turned it into a window seat. A fiddly job, but on a fast day, without a lunch break, it was amazing how quickly I finished it. It’s the same with gardening and other time-consuming projects – focussing helps me forget about food, and not eating gives me so much more time!

Hi Wiwi. Like Amazon, I’m not a miso soup fan, but love Bovril, and thanks to Wee, also drink a lot of Marigold vegetable bouillon – it makes a nice change. I’m not too keen on fizzy water, I prefer it still, but as a lover of prosecco I’m going to give it another go, in a champagne flute, and visualize like mad!

RT – having been involved in matrimonial law for quite a few years, I have seen many Barbies in my time! Good luck on the liquid fast, I admire your resolve tremendously. Well done too Sarah. That’s a great fast day.

Hi to everyone else and thanks for you good wishes and words of support. They are much appreciated.

    Have a good day/evening.

    Smiffy x

Fizzy water with ice and lemon is good Smiffy. Too much of a stretch to imagine that it’s a G&T though!

I am very hungry today and trying hard not to give in because I really want to get back into B2Bs as I had so much success last year. The aroma of baking Christmas cake isn’t helping…..

Hi Smiffy, I haven’t heard of it being prevalent in our breed, here in Aus boxers are more prone to seizures. Our almost 11, 10, 8 and year olds have never had a seizure and none of them are on any medication. The worst we had was our eldest had hormonal cancer but once we had her spayed (and the lumps removed) she’s not had any issues. Other than that the worst we’ve had is fatty cysts and just last week a liquid cyst. There are some lines which have a tendency to get certain things such as bloating, cancer, epilepsy or other hereditary diseases and this could include the type of seizures your lovelies have which could be something from through their lines.

On another note I’m looking forward to meeting Jojo and the others tomorrow afternoon, I know I still have shed loads to lose as I’ve currently only lost less than 20kg but I’m so much happier within myself for what I have lost and am getting my head back in the right place again now.

    Must run, chat later ?

    Nama,

I was interested in your reference to taming the bounces on non-fast days. Since reaching my goal weight I’ve been a very intermittent faster. But the last few weeks I’ve found I do need one fast per week to maintain. The fast days are easy. The day after the fast day starts well, not hungry, have coffee, drink green tea, have lunch, gnaw my own arm off (once I’ve eaten everything else, although I haven’t yet resorted to eating cat food…or cats). The day after the day after is then fine, no insatiable urge to eat.

This is quite new for me. What’s going on?!

    Amazon,

I know what you mean about Christmas cake cooking smells! Permeates the house for hours, but sadly leaves no baked in residue or opportunity to scoff (without leaving an obvious hole!)

    RT,

    It’s that time! Mrs RT’s update…?

    AO,

I don’t know what % of weight you’ve lost, but you don’t actually have to lose that much to start reaping the benefits in terms of health.

Before you started 5:2 could you have imagined saying “only” lost less than 20kg?!

Happy you’re so right I hadn’t thought of it that way before. Thanks for putting it into perspective for me ?

Unfortunately the smell of cake contributed to a failed FD but as I’ve had 3 successful FDs since Monday it’s not the end of the world.

I wish I was in Adelaide to join the party, I’m sure it’ll be great fun ?

Having met quite a few of our FT mates now, AO, I know that none of us judge each other. We all have so much to talk about and our relationships are not about judgement.
Have a great time with the girls in Adelaide. ?
Jo, what’s this about fasting in Sydney? Monday, yes, but not Tuesday, surely? ? P

Amazon, I thought I could avoid the whole Christmas cooking thing this year by going overseas, but all it does is bring it forward to early November. Ah well. I guess festive food is all part of the joy of life. Save some of your cake for me. I’m sure we can find a gallery to visit together again. Cheers P ☺

    Purple,
I would never want to avoid the Christmas cooking as I love the whole process. I just need to cook less so I don’t eat too much! I did OK last year so I’m hoping for the same result this time. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I can’t eat everything at once and must make choices so as not to undo all my hard work. I missed the chocolates last year so I’m giving up the bacon, the chestnut stuffing and most of the cheese this year instead.

Today’s cake is for my niece. I made mine a month ago, and that has reminded me that it is time to give it a drink 😉

I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow when I’m at the wine tasting event.

Same here, Amazon. I LOVE cooking, it’s the eating that is my problem. ?
Enjoy the wine tasting ????? P

Hello everyone, I cannot believe I am going to meet the author of this thread tomorrow! I am off to the gym shortly and then it is a busy day ahead organising the house… Have not had any success with fasts this week…. Oh well onwards I go AGAIN

Firstly yfee still going along well even with a zero exercise component which has completely blown her mind and still achieving 18-6 daily she did sneak a 19-5 in on Wednesday she tells me and ADF MWF the working week and today down 1.2kg. And has been so strong and determined I think she has really surprised herself. Results speak her kind of language of subtle positive reinforcement.
Now I know a few of you kind people are interested in my take on a 72 hour water only fast so here goes.
To embark on a new challenge for me personally was probably the key driver here really and I took the recommended easy option of 3 days to kick off with there would seem stacks of documented experiences of 5 7 21 25 and 30 plus days of water only both supervised and unsupervised. But I found it a mental drain and very bloody boring of course wow who knew 💡 but I actually did it was neither a positive nor a negative experience really just a study of one. I am not closer to the Dalai Lama or Ghandi like nor a Buddhists Monk no more enlightenment physically and mentally the same or so I think 🙄 But I badly missed the variety of a liquid fast you know a black tea green tea red tea here and there and black coffee fresh brewed very aromatic satisfying throw in the odd shameless diet coke coke zero or a pepsi max a cheeky Bovril or a Bonox or the salty miso in a cup a different flavour and consistency a few bubbles and so forth. I found the 4 day straight fast the DrM beginning with a low cal cuppa soup each night plus a shed load of water and other treats as above far more interesting and engaging and doable whereas the 72 hour water only fast is not for beginners IMO and a real challenge to wrestle with and beat the bored mind demons 👿
A shout out to All my SA fast friends to have a blast with Jojo you will all be in my thoughts the weather will be its role awesome so tell me guys Blair National Park or Mount Lofty Botanic Garden I wonder?

Devastating news today with such willful terror and horror on the beautiful French people in Paris there are no words you are in my thoughts and prayers
    RIP

Indeed RT. Horrific news. What a crazy world. Peace everyone. Px

    Good Evening All,
Just stepped on to the ferry after a very full day which included more close encounters with sealife and kangaroos and insect life( bloody flies- seriously maddening why do they all want to get in my ears) We laid on beautiful ( best in Australia apparently, certainly the most deserted) but very hot beaches but only for 30 minutes at a time because our schedule was madness again. Even squeezed in an Art Gallery and power boat trip.
We have three hours before we get back to Adelaide but hope to snooze on the coach. More pictures posted to make you jealous, sorry.
I really enjoyed the automatic car, Silver Subaru, sport, it was an excellent runner even on some of the dirt roads we had to take to get to some beaches. Off roading what next?
Had pancake for breakfast and feta cheese salad for lunch, grapes for dinner- yum
    Should you visit KI- definitely!

    Hi all,
The thread appears to have seized up temporarily. Personally I am so upset about Paris that I don’t really feel ‘chatty’ – seems a bit trite to talk about my life when such atrocities are happening.

But I will respond to your question Happy before I forget to.. re bounces on non fast days. I think I just get a bit lazy and eat over TDEE on them, so FDs just get me back to where I was previously. This week I have focussed a bit more and today I am back to lowest in 30 yrs. I think ‘fessing up’ here also makes one much more accountable.

    Take care all. xx

    Hi Nama,

Yes, events in Paris make anything I have to say more than a bit inconsequential.

Thanks for explaining your ‘bounce back’. Sadly mine at the moment is an irresistible urge to eat (anything!) on the first afternoon after a fast day 🙁

    Hi All,
I only caught up on news last night as we didn’t have TV or radio on Kangaroo Island.
How very sad that Paris has been victim to terrorists again. I agree Nama, no time for chit chat. The Botanical Gardens was very busy this morning in a good way, many people were reflecting on the beautiful things that are natural in this world.
Wiwi, my sympathies are with you in particular. I hope that the people of your adopted capital city remain safe. Paris is my favourite city in the world, it’s very sad.
This will undoubtably put a damper on my meet up this afternoon, sorry this arvo.

come on fast trackers it is now time to breath some new oxygen into our forum by adding some colour light and movement in peace love and happiness
    RT

    Morning/evening all

Very sad events in Paris and I have every sympathy for the victims, both those who survived and those who didn’t, their families, friends and everyone else affected. Having lived in London through the years of the IRA terror campaign, and having to deal with such terrible feelings and fear on July 7th 2005 once again I will not allow those of us who don’t want everyone to live in a free world to stop me enjoying my time on this earth.

I went to a wine tasting event yesterday in town, and the nearest station was Bond Street. Oxford Street and the surrounding area was packed with shoppers and tourists and I wouldn’t want to see it any other way. The event was well won with lots of excellent wined to tey and we had a great afternoon, tasting and chatting to wine producers and other wine drinkers. We followed it up with some blotting paper in the from of really good pizzas (and more wine) in the kind of place I would normally walk past if it wasn’t for the fact that my friend had been there with her grandchildren and knew it was good. We ordered a bottle of wine frim the extensive list but were informed that they only had one of those on the list so we opted for it 😉

Tennis finals start today and I’m very excited about going on Tue and Wed.
    B2B again today and tomorrow.

Have a good one everybody ?

Great to meet up today with fast trackers extraordinaire. Weather perfect, wine very good and new friends delightful. Also loved meeting ‘Red’ Oma’s dog, what a beautiful German Shepherd.

Having told the girls that my daughter and I have experienced problems with vegetarian meals here I thought I would tell you about tonight. Dinner was a total disaster, we stopped at an Italian Restaurant with an interesting menu. I ordered herb crusted salmon. It was very quick service, it looked delicious, but the fish was raw so I sent it back, it arrived back five minutes later, still uncooked. Enough is enough, we got a refund and left. Seriously! Not impressed. At least my daughter had a nice pasta dish. I know when I am beaten, I got a take away burger on the way back to the hotel, at least it was cooked.

When we got back to the hotel we found a bottle of wine in an ice bucket in our room, an apology for our power being out for hours this morning. I returned it to reception as we had had enough wine and we are leaving in the morning. Didn’t want to carry it. They gave me 24 hours wifi instead, result!

Good to see the support of most nations over the Parisian Terrorist situation.

Good Luck at the interview Emel.

    Good morning all.

RT, well done on getting your walk done before the sun gets its sting. As you say, lovely morning, if a little cool. Wore my jacket walking from the car to the office – only 11C but clear and sunny, lorikeets and sulphur crest cockies full of joie de vivre but kangaroos, rabbits and hares a bit thin on the ground here 😉 Thanks for the info on the long fast. The boredom would do me in too with the social part of our lives so entwined with food.

Amazon, hope you enjoy the tennis. Djokovic seems in very fine form, having disposed of Nishikuri (sp?) dropping only 2 games.

Had a very restless night and my mouth this morning feels like the bottom of the proverbial cocky’s cage. FD planned today and tomorrow as usual but feeling very seedy. Don’t understand why being short of sleep makes me want to eat everything in sight 🙁 but having seen my photo on FB, am resolved to tough it out, step by step. Only 7 hours to opening of eating window – need to keep busy ….

Take care all and keep up the good work. n xxx

    Morning all
On my way to Sydney but leaving a beautiful day here in Adelaide City. Love this place and plan to return.
Fasting today too, lots of damage done in the week.
    On my own now.

You must be bringing the sun Jo! This is the first we’ve seen of the sun in days. We were beginning to think we should build an ark.
Great to see the SA girls together. I’ll bet there wasn’t a silent minute. I’m with you today Nicky. Last fast before the trip, so I MUST do a good one. 1 tea, 1 coffee (both black) so far. ? P

    Hi Everyone,
The world is getting smaller by the minute. The Paris incident .. no words can express the sadness. It is raining and snowing here, we need it , purple you can send us your rain and snow. I plan to do a 18/6 tomorrow. And B2B fasts on Tuesday and Wednesday. Everyone take care.

    Hello from Sydney,
Firstly- how did the interview go Emel,
Today has not been without drama for me. Firstly my airport car failed to turn up, on ringing the contact I was fobbed off with ‘we are on our way’ several times. After 40 minutes we took a cab. We just made it in time for my daughters flight to Aukland. Then they told her that her NZ visa is cancelled because she left NZ for a trip to Australia. She had to buy a ticket back to Sydney in January before they would let her through. Of course I missed all this whilst bag dropping for my own flight to Sydney. We caught up just before she boarded, tears streaming down her face. Without a visa her job offer will be gone. So upsetting.
My flight was good until the plane landing from hell, the plane was swerving all over the place, not pleasant. Finally got my shuttle and settled into my hotel. There is a pool right outside my window, probably freezing but I will risk it.
Planned to fast but too emotional to see it through, ate my vegetarian lunch on the plane and the mini twix for pudding.
Off on a shopping expedition for milk and fruit. No cooking facilities here so a good chance to fast on cuppa soups. But I have free unlimited wifi….hoorah

How dreaful for your daughter, Jo. I hope this can be resolved.
At least we’ve turned on a lovely day to welcome you to Sydney. We look forward to catching up. P ☺

    Morning/evening all,

Jojo, once your daughter is calm she can contact the authorities and there should be a way to resolve the situation especially if she has a job to go to.

Another failed fast yesterday, I just want to eat and it has nothing to do with hunger ? I’m trying again today as there are two days of socialising at the tennis ahead.
I have done five fasts in the past eleven days so it isn’t a failure but disappointing nonetheless when I so want to get to goal before my holiday.

I’ve been out looking for new leggings to wear at the gym and had a problem finding them in one store as apparently they don’t sell sports clothing in the winter, go figure…… I don’t like shopping at this time of year anyway because if you don’t want something that is either black or red you are wasting your time and I almost got in the car and came home.
I did find some in another store. I also collected some packages from the delivery office and I’m now the proud owner of a size 12 swimsuit ? which goes to show that I’m not a fasting failure I’ve just failed to reach my own lofty expectations 😆

Nicky, lack of sleep messes up everything in my experience so be kind to yourself today if the fast doesn’t go well.

Have a good one everybody ?

Sorry Nicky. I deserted you. 25 hour fast, then dinner with Jo. We brought it forward a day (that’s my excuse) so a partial fast tomorrow to make up for the most enjoyable evening with “the boss”. P 🙂

    Good morning all.

Sorry to hear of Becky’s visa problems Jo – Amazon’s suggestion is sensible.

Amazon, congratulations on the size 12 bathers – who ever suggested you’re a fasting failure? Go kick them in the behind! Thank you for your encouraging words. Andy is playing well.

Purple, so you’re the reason that piece of carrot cake seduced me at afternoon tea time! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed your RV with Jo.

Slept very well last night, on top of at least an hour of ‘nanna nap’ during some boring TV OH was half-watching while doing a Sudoku. Apart from the aforementioned cake, I held out pretty well although a bit over the 500C and lots over my usual 350C – could have been MUCH worse as I could have eaten my own arm several times over. Had a slight headache all day and my stomach was very talkative at yoga but felt much better after the stretching and relaxation. Feeling much stronger today.

    Take care all. n xxx

    Hi Nicky,

    Glad you slept better.

I may have a problem kicking myself in the behind!
I realised yesterday that I’m expecting too much of myself at the moment and that maybe I need to relax a bit.

I gave up on the idea of fasting today as I knew it would be a disaster. I thought it would be better to eat properly rather than pick and nibble all day. Off to the tennis for two days now so I’ll forget about it until Thursday.

As for the swimming costume, if I wore the one I bought for my trip to Australia it might come off in the water it’s so loose!

    Amazon,

If you never lost any more weight I think you should be justifiably happy and satisfied with what you have achieved.

I don’t know what size you were when you began 5:2, but it wasn’t size 12 🙂
