  • Hi there CG! Well that was a very exciting start to your day…ha, ha! I’m sure your fencer got quite a surprise too! πŸ˜‰ Glad you finally got some sleep but you can always take a nana nap if necessary too. I was too thin a few years ago too, but didn’t really see it myself until I looked at some photos. I think about 60kg would be as low as I should go but 62 would be great as it would give me a little wriggle room for special occasions.
Well done, GL, for getting back on track – keep up the good work!

Hi all. Fit I’m not into saints but do love your quote – lord make me chaste, but not yet. I’m rather like that with my FD at the moment. I’ve got to admit to feeling more than a bit stressed at times so that has been my excuse for not getting back on the horse. This morning I put on a T shirt and then did a OMG as I saw my reflection in the mirror. I had to resort to a less clingy look.
SJ those fires in WA are just too frightening. Yes my heart goes out to the poor animals that have no way of escaping.
PH I too am a huge tennis fan. I think Roger Federer is a class act. Our youngsters could lean a thing or two from his behaviour. I recently read his biography where he says that he too behaved like a brat in his youth. That was uniil his mother laid down the law and told him to behave like a gentleman or she’d stop him playing alltogether.
Jade I must admit to skipping the maths side of Elevate. I don’t like maths. I Had useless teachers in my youth that only ever gave me negative feedback. You know how the mind works. Once you’ve told yourself you can’t do something it’s very difficult to change.

Dawg – don’t worry; 5:2 will be here waiting for you when you feel able – there’s nothing wrong with hitting the pause button from time to time. Just do what you can, when you can and be kind to yourself. I’m wearing jeans today that just a couple of months ago my sister told me looked awful because they were too big and were hanging off me……no fear of that now!! Oh well, it’s something to aim for again – so let’s keep on truckin’!! Love Federer too…a great sportsman and a true gent!

HI all CG I too woke up at 5.15am and couldn’t get back to sleep no way. So came down the lounge & lay down on the couch. Eventually nodded off much much later so no idea how much sleep I got & didn’t sleep in at all. Nana nap coming up. Very very hot & sticky last night & I’ve got some itchy skin condition that doesn’t like the heat. Went to dr’s yesterday & have a cortisone cream for a while…see how we go.
Oh Up that’s no good. I had a couple of falls last year & we just don’t bounce back like we used to hey?! Hope it settles down very quickly for you. But boy you sure plan WHO to have your falls around don’t you. And after that…fish and chips…who cares!!
Noots what a great loss for you so early in the year. You must have resisted the nibbles etc very well. Great stuff!
Barb I agree we do have to be careful about not losing too much. It doesn’t look elegant when we do! I’ve got a way to go before I need to worry about that one.
Gee Jade set for a month of utter penance eh but…..starting it off with wine & pizza. Now THAT sort of penance I can do!!
Doggie your comment about hopeless at maths brought back a memory for me. First of my dad who was my teacher for years 5&6 & his comment on my report card was usually something like Great work Sue. Just pick up your maths a little! Then for yr 10 once again I had the school principal who was a lovely lovely guy. AT the end of the year after so much extra explanations/diagrams etc & I passed with a 50 I think it was. He said to me quietly Now Sue you’re not planning on doing maths next year ARE YOU?????
Gotta agree with you re clingy t-shirts too Dawg. They find all the bits don’t they. The best comment I heard about that was from Sue Perkins – did you watch the Great British Bake-off? She’s very funny & the 2 hosts of the show were talking about the weight they’d put on with trying all the food. She said Mmm what I wonder is what do we do with the back boobies!! Usually called love handles I guess…..but not much to love about them!

Well onto another hot day & do hope the fire is contained today before it gets to Harvey. 121 homes confirmed now but no deaths thank goodness. Yarloop has basically been written off the map & it was a very historical place so that’s all but gone. Have a good day one and all & enjoy some planned portion controlled treats – the joys of 5:2. sj XXXX

Lost; a tail I can’t catch, my enthusiasm, my gusto, TIME!
Found; lethargy, tiredness, can’t be bothered’s……..
All of the above classed as RARE!
If found please return to poster πŸ˜‰ xxxxxx

Hi again. It’s too B hot for even a nana nap at the moment. Sorry Up I meant to commiserate re your fall at the dog park. You may remember I too had a fall a while ago. I Tripped over a mat and measured my length on the floor. I hope your aches and pains dissapear real fast. I used to take two Panadol every four hours for the first few days just to get over the worst of it.
Yes SJ, having good or bad teachers can make such a difference to a school kids life. I had a great English teacher who told me I was good at English. Of course I believed her and I always did very well in that department. I guess that’s where my love of reading comes from.
Well the family have just left and we now have Lewis for 12 days. I’m so glad for them as we’ve had a wonderful spell of great weather. Lovely and hot during the day but cool enough to sleep comfortably at night. Erika has made a great fuss of Pepper and he’s going to miss all that extra attention.
    XX Dawg
πŸ”πŸ₯πŸ£πŸ€πŸ“ this is for CGs chooks having a wash!

Hehe, You lot wont let me live that one typo down will you..hehehe….
Doggy, giving 5:2 a rest could act as a kick start as in the beginning, so don’t worry….besides, you’re holding your own anyway πŸ˜ƒ
All the heat hitting both W.A. And Tassie, we are next….We all know summer is supposed to be hot but ours are getting beyond the norm….stay safe and hydrated girls xxx

Who said ” The road to hell is paved with good intentions”. I can’t remember but thqtw how I am today. I was going to let Lewis read to me, then I was going to read to him. Then we were going to do some school stuff that’s needing attention. None of the above has happened as its too darn hot. ( song there somewhere ?) I’ve plonked him in front of the TV and I’m sitting doing nothing other than read and type. Now I’ve poured him a lemonade and I’m having a vino. Oh well there is always tomorrow.
Tonight we are having fridge surprise. All those bits of leftovers that have been lurking in the fridge over the past few days. Hubby bought us some oh so yummy Tassie smoked salmon so that will go down well too. I guess I’ll call the dish a la Margaret. SJ I don’t think anyone from the Great British Bake Off will be after my recipe. Did you see the Aussei version ? I enjoyed that too.
πŸŒ¨πŸŒ§β˜”οΈπŸ’§β˜‚πŸ’¦β˜”οΈ my version of a rain dance.

Doggy, I know how tired I have been lately, but you have had a house full since before xmas, so feet up dear girl, no guilts, Lewis will enjoy the rest too….πŸ˜ƒxxxxx

Help!!!! I’ve just had 1/2 bottle o red wine n getting the munchies n wanna drink more too!!!
Started day great , did 12000 steps in work now feel I’m gonna blow it all. Had 10- 15 candies n 2 packets of popcorn. Feelin all hot n bothered cos I’m hyper thyroid too . Got air con on and desperately waitin for hubby to come home to stop me!!!

Well just woken up from ny nana nap…cept it was a huge one & will be lucky to get to sleep tonight! Thank goodness we’ve had a cool breeze come in as the power lines have been cut by the fires so it’s pot luck salad for tea and shut the fridge door quick!
CG what happened to you girl???? Is it hot your way too? You better hurry up and get your mojo back or we just won’t know you at all!! We’ll think the real CG has been kidnapped or sumpthin.
Dawg you’ve well and truly earned a break. I remember when my kids leave the place I fall in a heap. So sit back relax like you’re doing and recover. Oh are you a Paullina Simons fan too Dawg? Bought a new one of hers over Christmas called Lone Star. Big as all her other books. About to start it.
Thank goodness with the heat my dr has given me the right cream to use. Still desperate for it twice a day but in between I’m itch free (almost)…..how wonderful!!! Bye for now folks. Sj xxx
CG did you miss your nana nap? You had an early start like me today. I always wake up feeling a bit blah but I’m slowly getting there. Switch on the cricket and sit back dear.

If you’re watching the cricket their sky looks a bit like ours right now…very smoky even though the fires are about 180km away. Sj xx

Hi sj, yep, had my nanny nap, then fed everyone ( with four legs) then dinner….mojo returned with full force, watched the beginning of the cricket then into the garden, best time of day after dinner out there, Lexie at the fence mumming to me, boys playing, just love it, Just sat with a wild Turkey in hand and saw all the smoke, gooolllyyy! Like here too sj when fires were bad!
So back in the groove team, no worries πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
WB you CAN let your hair down today, I’ve already had some chockies, but watch your portions πŸ˜‰ if you do have a pig out, and we all do, even us seasoned fasters, your fast will put you back in place, 5:2 is forgiving, so drop the guilts, you’ll be fine πŸ˜€
Lets hope for a good nights sleep, maybe my Wild Turkey will help?😏 I’ll keep trying πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€…xxxxx

Gee the smoke on the cricket cleared quickly! Xxxxxx

Thanks CG didn’t realise I was even feeling guilty! Think I’m just scared of a pig out on nonFD cos I just started. I’ve gotta control my etch (alcohol) to be able to control my weight as that is where my downfall is .
Really enjoy a bottle o red …or white! as soon as I have half a bottle I want more et oh and more snacks++++ 😬

WB, your cry for help is guilt, but it’s not necessary. A few wines are fine, but try to change whatever you nibble on…..have raw vegs, not as interesting but with Tzatziki (cucumber and garlic)) dip they are fine πŸ˜ƒ and nice with a wine. You will learn in time too, your taste buds alter, the need for nibbles leaves you…….give it time 😊 Worrying doesn’t take tomorrows problems away, it takes todays peace away ☺️ so enjoy xxxx

WB, forgot to say, my taste even for wine has pretty much left me, I do enjoy a whiskey and zero but not as often as in the past either, you have just started, so don’t be too hard on your self, concentrate on the two fasting days to begin with, the rest will fall into place, it will surprise you πŸ˜€ xxxxxxxx

    Hi All!
Bit of a theme here, I think! Broken sleep, lack of energy, alcohol taken….could there be a link??!! πŸ˜‰ I shared a bottle of red with OH last night and had quite a restless night. I know that when it’s hot here (it does happen, sometimes!!) I find myself very lethargic and listless with little enthusiasm for anything other than sitting on the couch eating ice-cream….not a good plan.
SJ – my dad also taught me for the last two years of primary school but in those days there were no such things as report cards; however I know I got my love of singing and interest in history from him. I hope the fires are under control by now and that weather conditions are more favourable. Take care xx
WB – what you’re going through is very common; the non FDs can be harder because once you relax and start eating or drinking it can be hard to stop. I have used MFP to keep a tally throughout the day and it can help to show just how many cals you are consuming and so give you the strength to call a halt. Don’t stress out though, because a fast or two will get you back on track.
Dawg – sorry to hear you’ve been floored by the heat too but as CG says; you have been flat out with all the visitors lately so no shame in putting the feet up now and taking a well-earned rest.
CG – so glad you’ve got your mojo back. You are never down for long; you’re just unstoppable! πŸ™‚ Hope your Wild Turkey did the trick and that you had a lovely restful night. Xxxx
It’s cool and calm today and dry so far, so I think I’ll try and get out for another walk today….good for me and the mutt! It also keps me out of the kitchen for a while – that’s one of the drawbacks to open plan living….you’re always in the kitchen!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hi Fit, I love seeing your morning post, at our night time. You have your day ahead, full of excitement and wonder, and we have just finished ours πŸ˜€so usually relaxing thinking about bed. Ready for my milky coffee then once the cricket finishes, off to z-land. I rarely have sleepless nights but seem to go through phases, then they pass again, the mind isn’t full of problems and weather comfortable enough for sleep, just a bummer when I wake to go to the loo, and can’t go back off grrrrr…..might have a mild sleeping tab tonight, see if that helps.
Have a lovely day whatever you plan, may the sun shine on you πŸ˜€ xxxxxxx

Yes Fit and I still have that report card! One of the few things from my childhood that survived so many moves. We had to draw a picture for the cover and mine is a little village of toadstools flowers etc. Each page was copied on the good old roneo gestedner copier (remember…turn the handle for each copy)? Just a very simple version of what they get these days! But I treasure mine and more so because it was my dad too. Xx

It’s been topsy turvy here hasn’t it! CG, such a vivid tale, and everyone’s waking nightmare to be caught by someone at the door too early. I remember catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror after one of those, OH goodness, hello Medusa, nice hair….But happy to see that nothing keeps you down for long and you have your mojo back. Insomnia is the worst when a busy day is ahead. Those nana naps I keep reading about (new term for me) sound blissful. Are they called that because we’re nanas (grandmas)?
Ha Fit, SJ, you called me out for my rather broad definition of ascetic penance (i.e., no sweets), rightly so. I was rather good at the pub though, just half a glass of wine, some nibbles. Yes please, give me strength but hold on while I gobble this Cadbury OK? And sj, such a funny memory re the maths πŸ™‚ – no doubt all my teachers were praying I didn’t keep on with it.
Wobbly, it can take awhile to get used to how you feel on nonFDs – my goal is to enjoy with moderation, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. So then I try to make a conscious choice to have the wine or cake or whatever, then there is no guilt. Ha, that doesn’t always happen either, but if the blowout days are kept to a minimum, you’ll make progress. Hey GL congrats on resetting, know exactly what you mean there.
Doggy, wishing you luck with Lewis for your 12 days – wish I could send you our cooler weather. Hugs to all Aussies, love reading all the posts. I’m off now to get my Sat chores done. jade xx

Good morning team, absolutely beautiful here this morning, but not for long, the heat is on….31 today, possibly higher and the week ahead will be a stinker, oh well it IS summer!
Slept a bit better, but not all the way through, might try the tablets the doctor gave me after my surgery. I’m no into real sleeping meds, don’t want to have to rely on them, but this vicious circle at the moment, lack of sleep, then needing a Nanny nap, isn’t good. It mean both my night and days are cut short! Just a phase I guess and it will pass.
Suejen, I hope the fires are now under control, it’s an awful time, you tend to sleep with one eye open, but the deverstation is heartbreaking. I believe two bodies have been found……I hope God sees fit to pass us by this year with any more major outbrakes.
Jade, yes the Nanny nap or Nanna nap comes with what our grand kids call us and the afternoon nap is usually reserved to us “oldies” but even my son often says he’s having one so it’s really part of our vocabulary these days.
I hope your going well with your portion control on your non fast days, it does help keep you on track.
Planning day team, get the bits and pieces at the ready so you are not caught out tomorrow. It does get easier for you newbies and us seasoned fasters can usually use what’s available.
This time of year, the fridge is full of salad goods so that with a chicken breast, or some fish is all that’s needed. Trying to hold off as long as possible before eating is the key πŸ˜‰ and keeping the fluids up.
Have a magic day team, try something new, do something you have been wanting to try, or get stuck into (my freezer is huge and in need of a good clean out) but make yours exciting, nothing better than come Monday thinking, gee I had a terific weekend πŸ˜ƒ” you don’t know what will happen when you try but if you don’t try, nothing will happen, so keep trying” don’t follow a path, get out and make some tracks….☺️…I’m back! Feeling great and ready to grab life with both hands……..and remember, don’t waste a good mistake….learn from it………πŸ’•πŸ˜€ xxxxxxxx

Morning cg!Just saying hello on my phone cos OH is still up for a change and using his computer. Proper post later

So annoying, lost my long post and it took me back to page 1 of this group and asked me to log in. I had advice for you WB but never mind. 31 here too today.

Morning all thankfully we’re back down to 28 & in the 20’s until Thursday back up to the 30’s. So a nice break that will be enjoyed by all & hopefully give some relief for the firies. 2 old men died in the Yarloop fires 73 & 77 stayed in their homes & 1 still missing. 60 firefighters from SA & 2 choppers from NSW are now over to help. Has a perimeter of 226 kms.

Have had a lovely break from playing keyboard at church but back on deck today so need to keep moving & have brekky shower etc. I’m into the way of go-slow in the mornings now so need to speed myself up a bit! Have a great weekend all. I’ll be enjoying the cooler weather for sure. Talk later. sj XXXX

Good afternoon all. Been MIA so long can’t remember when I last posted so will go forward from here.
Did remember that UP had a fall ..hope you are improving.
CG can just picture you being caught out by your fencing man. Such a vivid picture too. Love it.
And while I have been MIA you lost your mojo and got it back, well done.
SJ that fire is certainly causing some problems. Hopefully they will be able to get it under control soon before it does too much more damage.

I had the most wonderful day yesterday with all of my daughters friends.
🎾🎾🎾The tennis was great and all the kids played well on the grass outside the tennis court with croquet, t ball etc.. So lovely to see. So lucky to have the local tennis court so close.Catering for 15 young healthy adults and 6 kids and 3 toddlers for dinner was a bit of a challenge but all went well thanks to the old BBQ rissoles, sausages, corn and pleanty of salads. Everyone enjoyed it and have said we must do it again next time they all come. My D has decided that sleeping in a tent in the back yard is the best place to be at the moment leaving her house to all her visitors. Very sensible if you ask me. πŸŽͺβ›ΊοΈπŸ•πŸŒŒπŸŒŒπŸŽͺ beautiful day for them all at the beach today πŸ–πŸ–πŸ– then they are all off to a blueberry farm to pick blueberrys and feed the ducks this afternoon. We decided it was better for us to have a rest day and boy is it good to just lay around and do thing much. The young just have so much energy can still remember the time when we were the same.

Must admit to going completely overboard with drinkies and nibbles though.πŸΎπŸ·πŸΉπŸ«πŸ§€πŸ‘πŸ’ And absolutely guilt free……Think this will have to be a three fast day week to make up for all of the frivolities.

Had the best Skype from our oldest son in Canada to say they will be coming out for 9 wonderful weeks through June, July, August. This year is ahaping up better and better 🍼🍼. βœˆοΈβœˆοΈβœˆοΈβ›΅οΈβ›΅οΈπŸš•πŸš—. LOVING LIFE.

My wish for all of you is have improved sleeping, improved family relations where desired, safety from fire and flood and damaging weather, good health and most of what you wish for in the new year. Can’t have it all I guess.. That would be just too much to hope for. πŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘©πŸ€πŸ€β˜”οΈβœ¨πŸŒ›β›…οΈβšΎοΈπŸŽΌπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰β›±πŸ’žπŸ’ž

Now to come back down to earth and get prepared for FD tomorrow and the pool. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

PH you are having a fabulous time, good on you.
Well the ball I dropped yesterday has bounced back high enough, I felt it. A simple wipe of the hand basin in the ensuite snowballed into doing the vanity cupboard, which led me into the walk in robe, which got a bloody good going over, which led to the wall cupboard, which is half done, and for some reason, totally enjoying doing it. I guess it’s a bit like our 5:2 routine, once back on deck, we run with it…..anyway back into it before the urge leave me πŸ˜ƒ happy day team πŸ’— xxxxxxx

Hahaha PH after the discussion of doing some cleaning or sorting for 20 minutes, I thought I would start with my sewing room. I started at 1pm yesterday and am still going!!! I don’t know whether I will find anything anymore but gee it looks good. Doesn’t it make you feel great πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ whose idea was it again?

    Afternoon Determinators!
Arrived inthe big smoke yesterday with everyman and his dog also returning to Sydney. The trip normally takes 3hrs ….yesterd4 1/2 hrs .
Today I have been researching for The WTF REUNION. There is 6 weeks to before we all meet up!
WE WILL NEED OPAL CARDS TO TRAVEL ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN SYDNEY that is for buses, light rail and ferries. I brought my card today from a newsagent for $10. So that is not a problem . We can purchase yours from the newsagent at Darling Harbour.
Those of you that will be coming from the airport can buy them from the newsagency as you come though the terminal. There ia a train from the airport to CENTRAL RAILWAY STATION.. THEN CATCH THE LIGHT RAIL TO DARLING HARBOUR. Of course we will be in ph contact before than.
Just thought I would post this so no anxiety will be caused. Am looking into
Transport by bus directly from the airport to the accommodation will post when info is checked and confirmed against any hickups.
Catch you later GO GAL XXXXXXX

Hi all. It’s good to see you back to your usual self CG. I too was watching the cricket last night and wondered if there’d ever get to bat in those smoky conditions. I’m glad to see that India is here for a series of ODIs. For our honorary Aussies that stands for One Day Internationlas which is a 50 over version of cricket. It probably makes as much sense to you as Grid Iron does to us!
WB I find after a few glasses of wine I also get peckish and am looking for the nibbles. That would be the Insulin we get from the sugar. I’m not always successful at avoiding the temptation. Mind you with Xmas and New Year over, we have less rubbish food in the house. I plan to keep it that way.
So team tomorrow I’m going to start 5:2 ing again. I’ve boiled some eggs and have the necessary in the way of protein and salads. I’m ALMOST looking forward to it. It will be interesting to see how easy or otherwise it will be to get back into the habit.
This morning while out walking we met up with neighbours who are our age. Both of them look quite haggard and old. Why you ask.? Because they have a fixation about not putting on any weight and they are too thin and look gaunt. A happy medium is my desired outcome. So 6-7 kilos less for me and I will be A1 OK.
    XX Doggy

I agree D the older you get the more weight you can carry “nicely”. What reunion are you planning GG, I hope you have a great time. I am still I the sewing room but haven’t found anything very interesting. Nearly afternoon tea time, might have a coffee and a salad a biscuit with tomato.

Everyone seems to have caught the cleaning bug…hasn’t found me yet..maybe next week.
GG what. Terrible trip to Syd.. thanks for the research.. is it that soon? My time does fly. I’ll have to start making some more bookings for our tassie trip. All arrangements in place for the WTF reunion except the Opal card. Now will know to purchase one at the airport when we fly in from Launceston thank you for that.

In case our newby’s don’t know about the WTF reunion I’ll fill you in a little. CG and GG and I’m not sure who else got together last year for the inaugural Aussie Determination reunion. When they started organising something for this year I decided to go on Wed/Thurs/Fri instead of the full week. And of course the reunion was then aptly named the WTF reunion..possibly not referring to the days in the week..πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
Those of us who are able to make it are going to Darling Harbour in Sydney in February..I’m not sure exactly who is coming as memory not wonderful. βœˆοΈπŸš—πŸš‚πŸš„

Doggy. A lovely old lady once told me ,when I was talking about needing to lose some weight, not to lose too much because you can have a nice bum or a nice face when you get older…but never both..I have always thought that that was good advice.

Our reunion is actually 16th March, plus the following few daysπŸ˜ƒso if any newbies wish to “blow in” maybe for dinner one night, let us know and we will tell you where to meet us.
Apart from the gaunt look, I think the body needs something to fall back on during sickness as we age, and yes a bit of weight does look healthier as muscle and skin tone leave us, a bit of padding helps ☺️……just in, did the watering of pots and green house, 3:30 still haven’t eaten, so bit of a tuna salad then back into it, really revved up today xxxxxxxx

Absolutely newbies pls come if you would like to meet us. 16th to 21st March.
CG HAVE SENT YOU AND GYPS THE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE DETAIL VIA E MAIL……. GO GAL πŸšπŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Sounds like you are on a roll today CG. See what I mean about my memory..

Hi all, not able to make the WTF reunion this time but maybe next year if you decide to do it again. It would be wonderful to meet you lovely ladies face to face and think how much slimmer we will be by then :-).

Wow you go girls. A reunion lasting 6 days!!!!! Sounds like you have met your soul buddies. Wonderful to see.

Yes, we are all looking forward to it. Last year it was only three of us, in Melbourne City, GG and I stayed at the same hotel, the other girl met us for lunch, but because we got on so well, and have continued to keep contact (in private) and decided to ask if any of the team would like to join us this year πŸ˜ƒ Next year it sounds to be Upper North Queensland, with Gypsy as our host……..what a hoot that one will be, so start saving team πŸ˜ƒ oh, and 5:2 wont be getting a look in, but maybe an extra fast for us all when we get home πŸ˜‰ xxxxxx

I think if you look back to page 199 when we were trying to make 200, Gyps posted a pic of GG and I when we met…πŸ˜‰πŸ’• xxxxxx ( the other girl was Fatblaster, but she left months and months ago) xxxxxxx

Actually, for our newbies, you will see us all on page 199 πŸ˜ƒ xxxx

Ah PH I think that’s priceless advice re the nice bum /nice face & so true!!! To have a nice bum I’d need to be 50 something kilos & that ain’t gonna happen! It’s funny with photos though I’ve been quite happy with how I look these days (yes do still want/need to lose more though) until OH posted 2 photos of me the other day & my immediate thought was Gee is my bum & my bust still that big??? I thought they were looking so much better? And they truly are but photos just bring it all home to us. Hey I’ll never be model thin & don’t want to be but I’d like to get to the stage where I can look at a photo & say Yep that’s fine with me. Wonder IF it will ever happen or are we just never satisfied?
Thanks GG re the public transport info for the reunion. I will need to have that sorted in my mind as my flight out is at something like 5.50am so it will be a darn early morning start for me & you might need to direct me here there & everywhere! And of course if I arrive around midday (think it is) it will actually already be 3pm for me so I’ll be flagging by the end of the night. I deliberately did it that way though so I had more time with you guys.
PH sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful day with everyone & that you’re soo going to enjoy having your D close!! You’ll well and truly make up for those years apart I reckon! Enjoy your down time today.
Doggie that wine really is the cause of increased appetites isn’t it BUT…….it’s just so hard to avoid! I’ll be watching your posted weights each week from now on to see how we’re doing. When do you leave for you holiday & where are you going – apologies if you’ve already said. Obviously haven’t been doing enough Elevate!!!

Well a nice lunch with a wine has been had under the patio & we’re going out to friends for dinner. Sounded pretty good just a BBQ with salad & then a fruit salad so ideal. suejen XXXX

    Hi All!
Didn’t get back to you all last night (for me) as OH was glued to his computer all night. So I toddled off to bed to read instead. Really have to get myself sorted with a laptop or tablet. Can’t do a long post on my phone, it would take forever and I’d probably go blind or mad in the process! So the mission for this week is get myself back on the air properly.
Up – I so sympathize with you on losing the long post and being reset back to page one, it’s really annoying and frustrating. It seems to happen here from time to time and the tech team have been asked about it but don’t seem to have come up with an answer.
Jade – I can easily say no to wine or peach schnapps (my favourite tipple) but Cadbury’s??…..mmmmm!!! Oh, dear, now look what you’ve got me thinking about!! πŸ™‚
CG – you have turned into a one woman cleaning tornado!! You really have the bit between your teeth now but remember not to overdo it…..mind your back!! Ok, I know you’re sensible but you also have that AD spirit in spades and your ‘off button’ might not be working!! πŸ˜‰ I hope the temp stays reasonable and that you get a good night’s sleep xxxx
SJ – how lovely to keep that old report card; what a treasured possession! When I was teaching I had to fill in parish record books with details of the children who were receiving Confirmation and out of curiosity, I looked back through the book to see my own entry which had been written by my dad. I was absolutely amazed to see that his handwriting and mine were almost identical!! It was quite moving. Glad to hear the temp has come down a bit and I hope the danger has passed. Very tragic about those who have lost their lives, you can understand someone not wanting to leave their home but life has to be more precious than possessions at the end of the day. How sad for all the community. Hope all went well back at the keyboard; I’m sure you were missed.
PH – your joy is just leaping off the page; I’m so happy for you and hope that this year lives up to all your expectations…..happy times ahead!! <3
Barb – looks like you’ve been inspired to do some clean up too; it’s good for body and soul! Yes the WTF reunion will be quite an event. I had hope to go too but maybe next year! Sydney won’t know what hit it!!
GG – well done on all the research for the reunion. Hope you have a lovely visit with your mum? How is she doing? Does she have other family living nearby?
Dawg – best of luck getting back on the horse; we’ll all be right behind you! My OH is a big cricket fan but usually only watches during the UK summer, thank God!! I have to draw the line somewhere – I can watch soccer because I used to play so I have some interest in it but he also follows rugby, darts, snooker, golf etc. etc………Yawn!!
Ok, better get some chores done. I’m hosting a family meeting today with my siblings to discuss the next phase in the care of my sister who has dementia and some big decisions have to be made. Remember the four p’s, team, and be ready for some good fasting this week! πŸ™‚

Fit. Hope the family meeting is not too hard on you and all of your siblings. It is such a difficult time for family when it comes to this. πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž
Dawg. Best of luck tomorrow ..fasting after such a long time. I’m sure you will smash it!!

SJ. Sounds like your patio is a great outdoor space to eat. You certainly have a lot of nice wines out there too. I love eating outdoors and we regularly eat on our front verandah with the lovely view of the escarpment. Re photos πŸ“ΈπŸ“ΉπŸŽ₯..I have always made sure that I am taking the photos but now that I am getting quite a bit less of me then maybe I will feature in some of the family pics. In the one posted on the thread I am still in my PJ’s and gown having breakfast that my son took whilst he was over taking me by surprise. It is the on,y one I could find to send earlier on. Guess there will be some camera’s clicking at the reunion and I won’t be able to avoid them. When you are over 100kgs the camera is not nice to you any way the photo is taken. Maybe I am now just a mere 98kgs then it will all change. Hahaha. I’ll have to position myself behind all of you little people…does not stop me enjoying myself though…

Well time for me to get to the land of Nod. Nite allπŸ’€πŸ˜΄πŸ’€πŸ˜΄πŸ’©πŸ˜΄

So sorry to hear about your sister FTR. Dementia is an evil disease. I pray to God it will never happen to me or my OH.
The reunion sounds like fun, how wonderful you are keeping it going.
Still in the sewing room, although I am now in the spare room where all the material is stashed. I wonder whether I will live long enough to use all the material I have. If I live to be 110 I may just scratch the surface!
SJ I never look at the back of me, far too depressing. I am looking into a fitness coach that specialises working with “older” people and trains you in strength and flexibility. I am hoping this will help tone my sagging body πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
PH just get a big menu when the camera starts clicking, great place to hide !!!

PH it’s the smiles on our faces we will be looking at, not our sizes, we are all different which makes us unique and it’s the visible friendship the camera will catch πŸ˜ƒ
Fit, I’ll be thinking of you dear one, it could go smoothly, hopefully. You have shouldered so much and it’s time to off load. You have your own life to live and that’s not denying the love you have for your sister, it’s being realistic πŸ˜€
Well, another fast coming up team, are you ready BRING IT ON, WE CAN DO IT πŸ˜€xxxxxπŸ’•πŸ˜‰ let’s make this one count……

Barb, I’m in the same place with hand work, cross stitch etc, I’ll never get to it, as well as crochet patterns I would like to try, my problem is I never sit long enough! My computer needs clearing of so much and a lot to go on the external drive, but just no time, so always use my ipad……where does our time go?? At least we are never bored. I had so many plans for ” once I’m retired” I’m busier than I ever was ☺️

Me too CG I thought I would have so much time on my hands, now I have a huge list of To Dos. I always got things done when I worked full time, now I have to write lists so I can remember to do the important things.
Love this Facebook list and all of the nice people I have met. Thank you for being part of my weight loss journey all of you. What great company I am in. 😍😍

Barb, it’s a pleasure having you as part of our team, glad you got your act together and realised how easy it is…..even though I pushed a bit hard in the beginning, it’s been worth it….right πŸ˜ƒ…..don’t understand the facebook list you refer to? Maybe just over my head….sleep well, nighty nite ☺️ xxxxx

Wow, this one day of posting and the our little group goes from page 208 to 210…….
Well, it has been a long couple of days…… And it just keeps getting longer.
I did power read some of the posts….
I am sorry to hear about the people who lost their lives in the fires. It’s a shame! Have they figured out a cause or is it something that occurs naturally? We do have fires here occasionally in my area but 9 out of 10 times, it caused by people being careless when we haven’t had any rain in months.
I think it I’d great that some of you come together for a reunion each year. It’s truly amazing how one little thing such as a diet or new way of life can form lasting friendships.
Someone was talking about a teacher who praised them and they became readers then another who the teacher put them down. I’m sorry, I did not catch who but when my youngest was in primary school, I volunteered in a classroom for children with special needs and became great friends with her. Everyday, the teacher told each of her students how great they were in one way or another. Today, the students are now reaching graduation and moving forward in their lives. One particular child has very bad home life, but everyday of year 5, Jen (the teacher) praised this child. He was in her class because of behavioral issues. Jen told him what a good boy he was, how nice he was and more. Today as he is finishing year 11, he has gotten out of the special needs program, is a honor student pursuing his teaching a career. All because of one teacher who told him what a good kid he was! The point is one should never dismiss the power of kind words! I just think some teachers don’t understand this concept!
One question…… Does the anyone count their broths, tea or coffee as part of their part of their recommend water intake? I’m still having trouble getting to my recommended intake values. Should I count these as part of it?
Well, on ward and up ward……..
