Jade, you stand your ground, IT CAN BE DONE๐ get out in the garden or go for a walk, with your bottle of water…..stay busy….stay out of the kitchen… YOU CAN DO IT!……..xxxxxxx

Jade – yes, the memories were mostly sweet, thanks. Some funny moments too; I even took a photo of my older girl asleep when she was about 2 years old because she was such a bad sleeper that we just had to record the fact that she slept at all….oh, the torture we went through!! Loving your posts, there’s always such humour in them – you have a real way with words! ๐ Hope the FD went well xx
Barb – I really feel for you and the sleepless nights. I have been getting worse lately too; going to bed later and later and then not able to get up in the morning. So I’m going to try and train myself back into a better routine now that life is getting back to normal……I’m going to make myself get up by 9am and be in bed before 1am. Hope things get better for you soon.
CG – great job getting to the pool again; you’re a legend! Enjoy your lunch – you deserve a treat. Xx
Genie – sounds like an amazing breakfast; I’ve forgotten how good the diet book is. I agree with Up though, that I would have that much later in the day. I used to have breakfast on my FDs but now find it easier to fast if I put off eating for as long as possible.
Noots! – look at you!! So glamorous and slim looking – you can’t have much weight to lose. Delighted you managed to post the first of what I hope will be many photos….it’s so lovely to ‘meet’ you – a very stylish lady indeed! ๐
Milena – great to see that you have survived all that awful weather. Well done on the fairs and best of luck in Copenhagen…..you sure get around!! And fasting through it all……fantastic!! Sounds like you have enough males around who owe you big time and should spoil you rotten on the 6th! ๐
UP – that’s the whole point of having Women’s Christmas on the 6th….so we don’t have to take down the decorations!!!! You think Irish women didn’t think of that? Ha, ha!! ๐
Bert – ramble away; we’re well used to it here. It’s lovely to see the enthusiasm and life-changing going on when people get into this wol. Well done! ๐
I did get out for a long walk with the dog and felt so much better for it. Unfortunately, it looks like we’re back to the awful wind and rain again for the next few days so I’ll be housebound again ๐ There are over 200 homes flooded, another 230 under threat of imminent flooding, 130 homes marooned and cut off and many businesses in severe difficulty with damage and loss of stock etc.
I did a pretty good fast today, so hoping to be getting back on track just like last week but this time without the relapse!!
Jade……. I must say that I do have the greatest guy in the world but on top of that he’s one heck of a cook! We just learned that after all these years together that to be successful, we must be a team!
Country gal….. Thanks for allowing me to ramble. I just can not contain this new found excitement for life! Woot woot! Thanks for the tip on hard boiled eggs, my husband is not home tomorrow am so I’m gonna give it a try….. With butter and toast of course!
As for the makeup deal…. I was reading on line about taking on new projects and set new goals like the 5:2 wol. It said, to take on goal say cleaning a cluttered room, set a times for 20 min. twice a week until completed. The article stated that like the 5:2 it can give you clarity and help you tackle all those projects you haven’t been dealing with without feeling like giving up or being to overwhelmed to take it on.
So, I figured I would give it a go. Heck, if it works as a eating plan, why would it not work in all aspects of life?
Noots…….. You look fabulous! I love that color of blue!
Well, I finally ate dinner, very well couldn’t have my kiddo eating alone. So, tuna, cottage cheese and these fabulous little cracker I found at the market last week! I know the carbs but what can I say, the veg wasn’t calling my name. I’m still way under my calories for the day, and again I’m not hungry so I’m going to leave it where it is!
Hello everyone. Yes Milena it’s very much like reading Anna Karenana. I’ve only speed read them as I’m having a very busy day. Just got back from the dreaded supermarket again. We still have hoards of holiday makers about.
Gypsy thanks for instructions on Photobucket. Unfortunately iPads don’t work like IMB compatible computers but I’ll give it a go.
I do wish you folk in the north could send some of that rain down here. It’s still very dry. Well done to those of you who’ve just started 5:2. Fast days do get easier as time goes by.
Cheers all.
Doggy
Morning all on my PC at home and it’s darn lovely to be back. Only change is that OH bought me a new keyboard/mouse & I’m struggling a bit with it! It’s a shaped one that sort of fits your hands which I really like, it’s just that the keys are quite stiff and a bit noisy. Anyway I’ll get used to it. Beautiful morning back home with the birds calling and our lovely garden outside. They woke us at 6.30 but we managed to go back to sleep.
FD for me today. Had my morning coffee, about to boil my eggs & then enter all on MFP to keep me in line for my first fast back. Will make one of my favourite recipes for dinner. Need to go shopping of course as the fridge here is pretty empty….lots of vegies/fruit to buy. Though we do have lots of tomatoes/cherry toms from the garden & also our apricots are all ready – in fact over ready. They were nowhere near ready when we left…..quite amazing. Will stew some to keep & eat the over-ripe ones.
Now Barb I got bad headaches when I started 5:2 but it’s said to be a lack of salt. Now I got rid of them by having my famous Vegemite drink ie a tsp of Vegemite in a mug of hot water. You could do the same by having a cup of broth of some sort as I’m sure you won’t want the Vegemite!! Works a treat.
Genie you can change MFP from kj’s to calories. Go to MFP & at the very top alongside your user name/Help/Logout etc you will find Settings. There is another settings tab on your home page lower down but this won’t get you there. Once you go here there’s a whole list of account settings & the 10th one down (on mine anyway) is CHANGE UNITS. Here you can change from cm to ft/inch & kj to cals and many more.
Noots lovely to see you at last & how great you look in that lovely outfit!
CG what a great message for us today. You must be feeling even more inspired after simcolove visited our thread to pat you on the back! Way to go girl…but then we already knew how fabulous you were anyway!!
Well have a hairtrim to get to & not showered yet so better move. Still in holiday mode. Enjoy your day gals whether fasting like me or feeding & let’s kick some weight to the kerb this week…this month…this year! suejen XXXX
Hi all. Back from the pool and reading these wonderfully upbeat posts. Everyone is certainly starting the year off with a BANG! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ..love ๐๐๐๐the positivity coming from these pages.
Noots. What a stunning photo of you. Lovely to see what you look like. I am getting so mixed up these days trying to remember where everyone is from so your reminder re the weather in Port Stephens helps.
GG I believe that it is raining cats and dogs in your part of the world also. . Hope you are both dry.
I did not take any photos over Christmas…keep forgetting.. But will print out your destructions on how to upload gyps for the future.
Bert. Don’t get too hung up on your sleeping ,or non sleeping patterns, could I suggest you try some relaxation tapes etc and relax with no electronic stimulation at least an hour before bed for a few days and see how that helps. You will eventually find out what works for you and instead of it being harder to sleep on fast days I find that it is much easier. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Barb so great that you are excited and looking through Recipies etc. changing the way we eat is so exciting and discovering new Recipies is even better. ๐๐ just don’t make the mistake of trying something new every night as it does become time consuming. As CG says simple protien and salad/veg meals are so easy to prepare and so good for you. OH often roasts some sweet potato to go with salads as it gives that little bit of guts to the meal. Used to often do smashed potatoes, and still do sometimes, but prefer the sweet potato now. Smashed potatoes is just my name for it when you par cook whole pricked potatoes in the microwave, then smash them flat with your hand till they all squash out, spray with a little olive oil, sprinkle with a few herbs and put them in a hot oven to crisp before serving. Yummy with salads on a non fast day.
Milena, great that you had successful fairs. Copenhagen!, lucky you. Good luck with your shopping, and what a fantastic thing to do opening your home and heart to that young lad. ๐กโค๏ธ
Jade. Love your post, you have such a way with words. Can just imagine the picture you painted regarding trying to get some sleep I. A full bed ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ด๐ด
A big Hi to everyone else.
CG you are such a motivational mother hen. So great to read your words of inspiration..๐
Dear ladies, my friends, thank you so much for your comments on my photo. I got a warm glow as I read, and feel so happy to be a part of this group. I have lots of bulges I want to shift and about seven kgs to lose to get to my ideal weight and have, until 5:2, lost the same couple of kgs only to put them back on again. This time I believe I will finally get there!
First real FD for 2016 today and it’s going well. Just made beef goulash for lunch from one of the “Symply too good to be true” cookbooks, tasty and low fat. Only had a small serving, no rice. Boiled egg for afternoon snack and maybe an apple. Feeling positive.
Greetings from the soaked mid north coast! Its raining buckets here with road closures and tree debris all over the place. I am safe, however the tourists are having awful times especially those that are in tents camping……so much for the perfect summer holiday!!!!!! 200 milliliters of rain in the past 24hrs
GYPS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO ON PHOTOBUCKET have managed to create an account but can do nothing more. Possible due to the fact that my tablet is still a challenge to navigate some tasks…… this being one of them.
Team we are really doing so good with our continued commitment to 5:2. Well done to each of you. You all have amazing fortitude in keeping the faith strong..VIVA AUSSIE DETERMINATION๐๐ช๐๐๐๐๐…….GO GAL XXXXXX
Sorry Barb got you wrong…thought you were from the USA too. Well my first FD back is going really well….no dramas at all except that my OH said Gee wouldn’t you like a glass of wine under the patio to celebrate being home! Yeesss of course I would but I’m not going to!! That will have to be tomorrow. It’s 4.30pm had my HB egg and just had La Zuppa soup. I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned these for our new ladies. They are just great for a FD if you need a filler. They come in 2 styles & the one you’re after is in a packet with 2 liquid sachets inside – you just fill up the mug with hot water. Generally only 26 or 23 cals. 2 varieties of chicken, lentils, tom yum & more. I mostly have one before I start the dinner (or earlier) so I’m not nibbling as I go or raiding the fridge. Having Posh Chicken Kiev for dinner with a salad. Recipe here & this is a really good site for those who like to cook: http://www.52recipes.co.uk/2014/06/23/posh-chicken-kiev/ A super easy recipe too.
GG you haven’t floated away have you? Up you too! Well I’ve done my shopping & no dramas with it being a FD…sometimes it’s a good idea & other times it’s not so good, but we survived no worries this time. Didn’t even buy a treat or anything for tomorrow which I sometimes do. I think my body’s telling me I’ve had more than enough lately!
I had to laugh because our home exchange lady texted me to say that I’d left all these goodies behind in her pantry! It happened because I had them all just on her bench first but then I was nibbling so much that I put them away in her pantry. Then totally forgot about them & didn’t even check the pantry when we left! Oh well they enjoyed them last night so that’s a better idea than me bringing them home to gobble them all up.
Have a good night all & sleep well. suejen XXXX
Yay. Thank you SJ. I have successfully changed MFP to calories. So much easier for me.
Well, my very first FD went really well. After breakfast at 8.30, I did not eat until 7 pm. I did have a couple of black teas during the day which I hope is okay. I didn’t find it difficult at all. I felt the hunger pangs around 12.30 but pushed through and they passed after a while. They attacked every now and again but each time I just pushed it out of my mind. Hopefully this will continue on Thursday. Dinner was Lime Chicken Salad from the recipe book.
We are about to head out for Melbourne Airport to pick up our son. Flight arrives at 12:15 am (delayed an hour) and it will take about an hour and 40 mins to get there! Late night for us.
I done seen that plurry thing! Yup, it waz there! I hit 84.9!
Jiggle,jiggle jiggling,
all the bits are wriggling….
Wahooo!
I’m tellin’ you
I could run the pants off a kangarooooo!
Okay, okay. So the last line is pure plagiarism, So delighted with myself I couldn’t find the words!
Anyway, one genuine fast day yesterday and some strength and fitness exercise today and I am over the hump. Happily having a bourbon and green coke to celebrate what I hope is the end of that 4 month long plateau I got stuck on. had a depressive moment over the gobble up over xmas when I actually weighed in at 87! but I expect christmas cake will do that to one. Once again it would be so much more defeating to fall of the wagon without 5:2 to reverse the damage. It really doesn’t matter what ‘major breakthroughs’ or sudden anti fasting reasons anyone comes up with in the future, I’m a lifer. Just to stop the scales going up is so good for one’s moral. and every bit down is wonderful. Just thought I’d share that. Carry on you mob, xx gyps
You’re welcome Noots, Lovely photo!
GG, Boo hoo, sorry love, can’t help you out there. We need Fat buster on it.
SJ; Glad you got home fine and had good times.
CG see you are in fine fettle clicking over our new chicks. It’s good for all of us to have those grounding back to basics pep talks. We get off track and jaded. but I think 5:2 works well after a break even. if not better. I had fruit for breakfast after my fast day yesterday and ever morsel tasted sooo good!
Dawg, sorry the foto app won’t work for you. I only learned what I know from FB and that was limited to the basics.
HI to barb, genie jade and Bert. so impressed with how well you are all doing. gives us all incentive to keep going. and new outlooks are always welcome. Rave on. we love it. This is a thread fro stayers, nuthin short winded about us!
FIT. mate, How are your web feet? A bit concerned about all the weather your copping. Hope none of those flooded houses are your friends and family. tho sorry for who ever they are. Take care. Am planning to take advantage of the Irish traditional women’s day off tomorrow. Good one. Will be sure to point it out to the leprechaun when he rings the bell for service (Just joking, I confiscated the bell as soon a she got over his last liver op). He’s been mowing the yard today, so guess he’s not too crook at the moment.
UP hope your weather has no flood potential either.
I’t been raining over the past week here, but seems to have cleared. hot as a furnace though. so more is coming. Have a good nite all. xx gyps
Good Morning!
Work up to another cold morning, not that I am complaining. It’s great to have finally turned the a/c off and to pull some cute sweaters out of closet for work. However, my veg in the garden does not seem to be fairing well., hopefully the cooler nights have just slowed my last remaining down.
Last night, I slept very well, I questioned how I was going to actually sleep because I had so much energy. But settled in quite nicely and woke up not hungry after a FD.
Genie gal……… I hope you found your son well, when he arrived! Those late night pickups are a killer but so worth it when a piece of your heart is close enough to hold!
Gypsy bell…… Congrats on beating your plateau. Sometimes it can be daunting but your determination pushed through!
Suejen….. I’m sure your exchange lady, was happy for the nice treat you had left her. Welcome home!
Go gal…… Your and those around you are in my thoughts today with all the terrible weather you are having. Mother Nature seems to have her panties in a bunch, since everyone’s weather is out of wack.
Two small goals today…… Cut makeup routine down to 19 min and drink more water! Seems easy enough!
Well, off to start my day, if I put off any longer, I will late for sure!
Ahhhh…felt a bit Jack Sparrowish but managed not to eat a thing! Some vegemite might’ve helped, got a bit wobbly up the stairs to bed. CG thanks for the well-aimed kick, you’ve no idea how timely that was. And Gyps, so right, no defeat thanks to 5:2, somehow it just sets things right in many ways, and reversing course is a biggie. Love the feeling of revival here, big congrats to Bert, Genie, Barb – great to see how you got through your days. Genie, enjoy hugging your boy!
I’m not good with the metric system, but 200 ml converts to …12 inches of rain?! HOLY smokes, glad you are safe GG, also UP and Fit. We may have to look for you on Mt. Ararat if this keeps up.
PH now I want sweet potatoes ๐ ๐ – I have done that smashed potato thing, great over a shepherd’s pie too, oh dear lord must stop thinking of food. Speaking of which, SJ you’re amazing to refuse the wine, that’s strong control right there.
And what do you know, I have to go to work. I should really try with the makeup like Bert, but for me it’s more like 20 seconds and try not to look too closely! Cheers all — jade xxx
Hi All!
Very, very late posting today as Oh was working flat out since about 5.30 this morning. He has a really bad cold and couldn’t sleep. However, he’s gone back to bed now to try and get some rest as we’re going out for a meal on the way to the airport this evening with younger daughter who is off back to college in the UK….sob, sob ๐
Jade – so glad that CG’s kick did the trick and kept you on track. It’s very hard not to respond when she cracks the whip because we all know she can walk the walk, as well as talk the talk!! Are you like Jack Sparrow because you put your eye liner on in such a hurry? Ha, ha!
Bert – sound like very doable resolutions and that’s the best way to make sure you keep them – must think of something similar for myself.
Dawg – I’d happily send you some of our rain in exchange for some sunshine……it is just so depressing and everywhere is completely waterlogged. Thankfully, no-one I know has been badly affected but the reports on the news are so sad.
SJ – great idea to leave the goodies behind; kept you from eating them and you gained extra brownie points from your fellow swapper – win/win!! ๐ Hope you had a lovely time at the hairdressers!
GG – oh dear, I thought getting a new ipad/tablet would mean I could post photos easily…..so you better hurry up and find out how to do it and then you can pass on simple instructions for me!! Gosh, I pity those holiday makers near you……a tent in all that rain, eeeeek!!
PH – well done on your pool sessions, you really have the AD spirit in spades!
Noots – sounds like a brilliant fast day, so well done and keep up the good work ๐
Genie – well done to you too; it’s amazing how the hunger pangs pass by if you distract yourself – glass of water, cup of tea, clean out a cupboard, change the bed, ring a friend, go out for a walk etc. Before you know it, the hunger is gone and you can last until your proper meal time.
UP – sounds like you’re getting more than your fair share of rain too – keep safe and dry xx
Barb – calories in hand near the end of a FD…..I’m very impressed!! ๐
Gyps – you enjoy your Women’s Christmas and tell the leprechaun from me there will be no gold at the end of the rainbow if he doesn’t toe the line!! ๐ Brilliant weigh-in too, woohoo!!
CG – hope you had a great time with your friend for lunch and that your pastures and animals are looking and feeling fine. The positivity here is keeping me in very good form and my hopes for 5:2 this year are realistic, doable and energising. I went to bed at 1am and got up at 9am so I’m pleased with that. I might try and tweak that a bit more as time goes on but for the moment if I keep to that and sleep well overnight, I’ll be happy.
Here’s to a great year of health, happiness and fulfillment to all and to the wonderful ADers getting ever closer and firmer in friendship, love and support xxxx
Good morning everyone. Fell into bed at 2.30 am and up at 7. I am off to my volunteer work today so will be a bit tired tonight. Lovely to have our son and 6 year old step granddaughter here. Today they will walk down to the information centre where we have this great trail to follow around the village. The children find all these plaques and Mark them off. Once complete they come back and get a wee gift. There will also be a walk along the river and some duck feeding, there is an indoor forest at the info centre that the kids really love, I have not had young children around since ours were little so it will be a learning experience. I have bought some coloured pencils and put them into a FROZEN pencil box. Also bought a Suncatherthat you paint and Savannah can take it back home. My next FD is Thursday and will be harder I think because we are visiting our daughter and new grandson. My daughter is the one who put me onto the 5:2. She did it to cleanse. No need for dieting as she is a size 8.
Have a good day everyone.
Hi team. I’m back to having a full house again so this will be short. We had a nasty shock yesterday. Had a text from our bank re fraudulent use of credit card. Someone in the USA plus UK had used our card no. for many thousands of dollars. Luckily the bank were quick to pick up unusual purchases. Damn nuisance though as cards have been canceled and we have to wait for new ones to be issued.
Eek my scales plus mirror are felling me that it’s time to start the 5:2 again as I’ve gained 1 1/2 kilos. Could have been Rocky Roads, boxes of chocolates, rum balls etc.!
GG I can’t use Photobucket either in my iPad. I’ve uploaded my pics but am stumped with how to go from there.
Yes CG thanks dear pal, I did enjoy my bit of R & R. I resorted to watching a bit of the Big Bash cricket and have decided it’s not too bad at all. I feel TV sport is becoming very Americanised but guess that’s the way of the future. That West Indian batsman has not exactly covered himself in glory has he?
XX Doggy
Good morning all. Better nights sleep last night but I must admit having 3 1/2 hours the night before might have helped. Also I took a Restivit. Great stuff and not bad enough to have a prescription!!
Dogsabie I also had my credit card compromised on the 21st December so no card over the whole Christmas New Year break. It was used in Manhatten New York at the Apple Store. The only place I had used it online for the previous month was a subscription to National Sewing Circle in the USA. I wrote to them saying their system was compromised…….they took no action.
The rain has stopped here too and it is sunny although quite windy. We live just under 300ks inland from Sydney and they are expecting the rain to come back across the Blue Mountains today or tomorrow. Both our water tanks are full from the rain over the weekend so I will now hate watching it just run away. Glad the farmers got some, it was getting pretty scary out there for them.
Anyway, I will have my granddaughter here any moment so I can “help” her make a dress. This will be fun but she tends to ask for help knowing I will do it for her if she shows me those sad cow eyes, grandchildren are a gift from God, I am convinced ๐๐๐๐
Morning all. Just back from the pool and having a well earned rest before taking our caravan over to our daughters so that she can accommodate all of her visitors that are arriving today. That is if they can get here safely from the south with all that rain you are having down there GG . ๐ง๐ง๐ง She has three couples from west and their little ones arriving to help her get some things done to her house before heading west again to Perth and the Pilbara. Can’t imaging them getting much done but it will be a fun time for her, and us.
GYPs. What a great result. Well done and whoppeeeee! ๐ค๐ค๐๐๐๐๐ I’m sure the leprechaun will do you proud for women’s Christmas….or else one of your spells will be in order…
Fit. Your sleeping patterns reminded me of the time we travelled through Ireland. My friend and I are early risers and would like to get going each day by at least 7am. However soon realised that in Ireland that is just not possible. Even when we would ask for an 8am breakfast we got this funny look and guess they thought we must be mad to be out of bed that early. We stayed at b&b’s in the country most of the time. It was beautiful.
Families still coming and going. Fit you will miss your daughter, genie enjoy your time with your son and little one, UP so lucky to still have yours at home. Doggy still enjoying your family. ๐จโ๐จโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐ฉ
Jade I, with you on the makeup. A bit of lipstick and I’m done. Always have been. Very slack. ๐๐
Up we have been on the fringe of all the rain. No heavy falls just light sprinkling each day. โ๏ธโ๏ธ
Bart ..from air conditioning to jumpers in such a short time. The weather is certainly doing some funny things. My son in Canada says the same thing. ๐โ๏ธ
SueJen. Pri ted out your recipe and guess what we will be trying as soon as I can get to the shops. Looks Yummy.
Gotta go. So. Skyping from Canada with grandson..๐๐๐๐
Hi all, woke up to gale force winds and torrential rain this morning. Lots of flooding in Newcastle, my nearest city, 45 minutes’ drive away. Trees down across roads and power lines. Cancelled my physio appointment in Newcastle, too risky. We’ve been warned on the radio to stay indoors unless our journey is vital. Good day for reading. Anyone a Georgette Heyer fan? I am re-reading all my tatty, old paperbacks and enjoying them all over again.
My FD yesterday went well but I won’t weigh myself until Saturday, after my Friday FD. Hungry this morning but am not overdoing it.
Back from the airport and have to confess to overdosing on choccy biscuits when I got home ๐
CG – glad you had a good night’s sleep and I’m sure you will have a brilliant time snooping out a bargain, especially if it’s for your garden! I love a good browse around antique fairs and bric a brac sales. They have lots of them in France and we usually go along hoping to make a rare discovery or grab the bargain of the century. The truth is usually lots of stalls full of rubbish no-one in their right mind would buy….I once saw an old, used, toilet brush for sale….euwww!
Genie – make the most of your family times, they’re precious and so fleeting.
UP – enjoy entertaining your friends; sounds like a very healthy dessert, good choice! ๐
Dawg – that was a short break; hope you don’t overdo things. So sorry to hear about your card fraud troubles; have you any idea how it happened? I hope it gets sorted soon and that all turns well in the end.
Barb – sorry to hear about your card troubles too; what an awful world we live in. The poor farmers here are suffering from too much rain; resulting in waterlogged fields, animals in danger, ruined fodder stores – total disaster. We have another yellow weather warning for tomorrow evening/night – mostly in my part of the country this time.
PH – I think things have changed alot in Ireland and early starts are not unusual anymore. I just find that pattern suits me best. What a wonderful and exciting time for your daughter; it’s great to have her so close and to be able to share in her life so much. Enjoy the skyping with that gorgeous little boy!
Noots – sounds like you’re getting it worse than I will. Very wise to stay at home and keep safe. I hope you don’t lose power. I haven’t read G.Heyer in a long time but I enjoy Phillipa Gregory. At least, you have the perfect excuse for staying at home, indoors and reading!!
Good day all…..
Today was a pretty good day, busy as usual. I’m so glad it was not my FD today and this new wol has provided me with ability to say yes! We had a surprise from one of our vendors to day, he brought pastries in from this lovely lil shop a couple hours away and fire roast cashews. Then another one of our contractors who runs a pepperidge farm store brought a us in a box full of goodies too. So, I brought the cookies and cashews home for the boys and had a delightful pastry for my dessert at lunch.
Normally, I say no to all the goodies that come through the door at work but today I said yes! I freaked some of my coworkers out because excepting one and actually eating it doesn’t normally happen. However, tonight is a very lite dinner as I am not very hungry!
It seems as if we’re all getting hit with something, nasty little people taking things that don’t belong to them or Mother Nature with her attitude…. You are all in my prayers and thoughts tonight, I hope you all stay safe and dry. And those nasty little people are caught!
Please forgive for asking but here in the states if the authorities catch the person who committed credit card fraud, they will serve some type of jail term. I’m unfamiliar with the statues, I am assuming that it happens in your neck of the woods but does your laws include jail terms as well? If so, I hope the catch the bugger and give them the maximum!
Wow another book of my ramblings…. Sorry guys!
Have a great night!
Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday, that chewing gum got me through a rough patch yesterday! I’m not sure, if Ill continue to use it on my FD but it was nice to know it can help when my belly decides to be a bit vocal.
Bert I’m not sure what happens to crims here who are convicted of credit card fraud. My hubby was in another part of the sate over the past few days and he thinks it could have been skimmed somewhere there where there were hundreds of people about. Our bank’s fraud department are sorting it out. Thankfully we don’t incur any costs.
Barb, I also enjoy sewing. My daughter, now in her mid 40’s still comes to me to “help ” with her sewing. I invariably land up doing it for her.
Fit I also like Phillipa Gregory. I’m also a huge Kete Morotn fan, Jodi Picoult too.
My commiserations to all those if you who are having all this rain. I too hate to see all that precious water going to waste.
I feel so sorry for all those animals who can’t find anything ground to get to. So many must come to grief.
OK now have Pepper the pooch on my lap and typing is becoming difficult.
XX Doggy
Goodness – rains and credit fraud and bears, OH MY โ hope everything settles down soon for the ADers. UP glad it has settled down by you.
Fit, sorry your babe flew the nest ๐ โbet youโre proud of your college girl though. Donโt know why I thought of Jack Sparrow, maybe because my tummy was making pirate noisesโฆarrrgghh.
CG hope you found a nice Buddha for the garden โ wouldnโt that be lovely. Thanks again for kicking me so hard yesterday, you are a fireball (and thatโs a compliment). Note to all โ I started to use a โBโ word above to describe the bad weather then thought to check its definition โ OMG, couldnโt erase that fast enough). Second Note to all: if I say something that can be taken two ways and one of them offends you, I meant the other way.
Genie, I want to be one of your grandkids โ your village sounds like so much fun.
Doggie a 1.5k isnโt bad at all! Well, thatโs coming from me, of course, who gained moreโฆ. But itโll be gone in a flash. Hate that you and Barb had those credit card issues. Sign of the timesโฆbut the banks and card issuers do try to stop it asap, because without customer authorization it isnโt your fault. As Bert said, I hope they find the snakes and toss them in a jail cell. Filled with real snakes.
PH forgot to thank you for the sweet emojis โ you pegged us down to every dog and cat! I loved the story of your early rising in Ireland โ so funny. Hope you enjoyed the time with your daughter โ your kids keep you hopping.
Bert nice going โ youโre the poster child for 5:2, enjoying yourself w/o going nuts on the 5 days can be tricky but sounds like you did it perfectly.
Iโm exhausted after my first day at work in a month. Wonder if I could get them to let me come in just 12 days this year? Maybe if they pay me for 12 daysโฆ good luck fasting tmw all ๐ jade xx
ps: PH just saw your photos – beautiful!!
Morning Aders how are we all? Seems like we’re all running on 6 cylinders at the moment and may it continue! Great to have so many positive messages here to motivate and encourage us. Can’t wait to see Friday’s weigh-in as we should have some good results! I’m still up almost 2 kilos but did lose one yesterday on my FD – so yes I was up almost 3kg yikes. However I know that at least 1kg of that was just fluid etc from travelling home & no exercise I guess as up till then I was happy that I’d only gained 1 – 1 1/2 kg over the break. I’ll stick to the usual day and fast again tomorrow so I can weigh in on Friday as usual.
Doggie what a darn pain around Christmastime! Yes thankfully they do seem to find the purchases pretty early on these days. Must have lots of alerts on their systems.
Bert what sort of business are you in…sounds interesting (sorry if you’ve already told us)? The chewing gum probably does work but I reckon from experience that a glass of water does the trick too! Time and again I think Mmm I need to eat something but then I get a glass of water and go happily on my way & forget all about it.
Noots stay safe with all that wind & rain and good decision to not go to your physio. How’s the thumb going? Getting more movement I trust?
Ph funny about that recipe. The one I listed IS a good one & have made it many times but it actually wasn’t the one I had decided to cook – just mixed the names up I guess! I did Mediterranean Chicken with Fetta as had some fetta to use up. It’s even easier though I make it simpler by not cooking the chicken separately but just putting it straight into the tomato sauce & putting the lid on. It’s such an easy sauce & so tasty. http://www.52recipes.co.uk/2013/06/10/mediterranean-chicken-with-feta/ Even the ladies who don’t cook wouldn’t mind making this one!
Barb now we have GD’s AND D’s (Dawg) who come for sewing help & we end up doing it….BUT we love doing it really!!
UT we had a wonderful crop of blackberries/loganberries (like raspberries) & one other I’ve forgotten & they went into the freezer & ready for whenever. Tonight I’m cooking an apple & blackberry crumble. Thank goodness berries are soo easy to freeze!
Genie funny I was trying to navigate the supermarket yesterday and kept having this young girl stop right in front of me and do a dramatic twirl around and hold her hands up high in the air. Mum eventually apologised & said she’s Elsa from Frozen. I laughed & said I’d already worked that out!
CG hope you enjoyed your warehouse sale….maybe found another Buddha?
Jade I did refuse the wine yesterday but….I’m hanging out to have one today with a lunch under our patio…my favourite place to have long slow lunches. Your makeup routine’s like mine – moisturiser & lip gloss & I’m done. Can get away with it in the country! Funny I remember years ago after we moved from central Australia to Adelaide a best mate called in at the weekend to see us. And she commented Oh Sue you’ve become a city girl..makeup even on the weekend!! Certainly lost that habit plus I reckon that after years of working & having to do it I think I’ve earned a break!
Well this post is getting waay too long so better finish up wish you all a great day & post this. suejen XXXX
Purple hats….. Beautiful rug for your grand baby!
I was reading through some of the older posts, just in case I missed any thing. I know I should explained my whole make up thing…. Still 20 mins but tomorrow is a new day. Anyways, Here it is! I do spend sometime on my makeup however, I do so to make up for the hair on this head. Well, it’s kind of got a mind of its own. Besides being curly, no matter what I do long or short, it normally looks like I’ve been threw a 100 mile wind storm with 200 percent humidity…. So, I normally spend about a whole 30 sec. Tying it up, in a messy bun and moving on…… So wearing make up makes me look put together…. One heck of a balancing act!
If I didn’t do this, I would look like I just rolled out of bed……..
Suejen………. I am a design consultant for a flooring company. I was in pharmaceuticals up until a little over a year ago, when, I threw caution to the wind, quit my job and started pursuing my dream of home design……. Scariest but one of the most rewarding changes I’ve ever made. It’s right up there with becoming a mother. I’ve never been so scared and happy at the same time…..
Hi all. Have been playing with Photobucket on the IPad trying to work out how to upload pictures. As I said I. The last post I could not get the App and when I tried to do it with the instructions from Gyps had trouble . Not good at copying and pasting on the iPad.๐๐ At least I managed to upload a couple of pics on the computer so when I actually get some decent photos I can now do it. Thanks Gyps!!! I keep forgetting to take photo’s especially of me as I have avoided the camera for such a long time.
Doggy.and barb. must have missed the posts re the credit card. It is a huge inconvenience without credit cards.it is lucky that the bank covers all of the financial loss though.
I can’t believe that is is a beautiful sunny day here and everywhere else on the coast is getting hammered with rain. It is a good time to stay hunkered down in the safety of your homes though and gives us an excuse to have a bit of a relaxing time reading. Please be careful everyone everywhere in the rain and storms etc.
I too love sewing, knitting and crocheting, will really enjoy sewing for my soon to be granddaughter. Can’t wait.
Jade. I have been at least 10 years of having children in Western Australia, Tasmania and Canada and only seeing them once a year or two. just loving the fact that I finally have one of them close. ๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐ฉ๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐ฉ
CG hope you got some great treasure for your garden.๐ฟ๐ธ๐ผ๐ท๐น I am doing a Fast Day today. Nothing so far to eat and not a bit hungry.
Better get and do some work as I have done nothing today but play on my iPad and computer since coming home from the pool. Talk to you all later.
OK gang what’s not working with Photobucket for you? Are you able to upload photos to the site & put them into your Library? Or is it the posting after that that’s causing the problems? Let me know as my computer does it differently than Gyps’ does so maybe we can get you there that way. But let us know first which bit is causing you dramas. sj
Hi Aders I’m gonna do this the cheat’s (easy!) way this time. I know we have a lot of newbies so….IF you’d like to be added to our team please just post your details in your next post & we’ll add you on. If you could make this a separate post that would make my life easier too ie separate from all your replies to people. PLEASE only post the details that you wish to be public ie it’s not mandatory to add your christian name if you don’t wish it to be public etc.
Once I’ve heard from everyone I’ll post an updated list for you all in a few days. Maybe we could all copy & paste & then print the list out? It does get kinda confusing at times – well my brain struggles with it all! sj XXXX
