  • My TDEE comes in at 2400 (does anyone know how to make myfitnesspal use Cals instead of kj?) so a fast day would be 600 cals.

Just had a banana so I’m up to 185 cals…

Will have to prepare some eggs in advance for next time (can’t cook them at work easily).

Hi Mike! Welcome to this way of life and this thread. For lunch, if you are at work and near shops (woolies/coles etc), try the pre-packed salad – they are about $5 each and if you add some pre-packed chicken or a small bit of BBQ chook / grilled fish /feta, the lunch will come to about 230 cals. Nuts are good, but even small amount (say ten almonds) works to about 70 calories, and they don’t fill the tummy much… Other option is those pre-packed steamed veggies in the frozen section. You can pop one in the micro at work and get a really low-cal, fibre plus sort of addition to your nuts/protein. Or cup soups. I find these options easy as they also have a calorie count on the back of the pack, making fast day calorie adds a bit easier.
I don’t use MFP, but am sure the settings tab in it will have an option to change KJs to Cals.

Mike, in MFP, down the bottom you see “more” click on that, then ” my profile” you have the option to change to k’s there… cG

    Welcome Mike!
Gang , some of the very low cal soups available at Woolies and possibly coles as well:-

And specially something like this, at only 28 cals.
    http://www.lazuppa.com.au/la-zuppa/cups/tom-yum-soup

Or even these under 100 cals, seems good for fast day Lunch
    http://www.lazuppa.com.au/our-soup/less-than-100-calories/

Can’t you tell that I am already hungry.

Already up to 135 calories with my morning cappuccino and Jarah Hot choc. Need to hold this hunger until dinner time, but I am getting very hungry and cranky now…Grrrr…

Why some of the fast days are still difficult???

eggs are good for diet but just white . hungry is normal .you will be better days later

Welcome Mike. Some of the others have already given you the so’s and don’ts. You will find us a friendly lot and usually someone can answer you queries. I too take Psyllum husks. Mostly for the high fibre. I add it to my calorie count. 2 heaped teaspoons come in at about 10 calories.
Thanks for the advice re hot pack for my knee. I’ve actually done the reverse and just had a cold pack on. It’s just gone back into the freezer. Pepper is a bit brighter today, poor little thing. Oh the loss of a pet is very traumatic. It’s now over six months since we lost our Golden Retriever but I still grieve for him.
I think I’ve hit the doldrums with the dreaded plateau as my weight seems stuck on 67. What I ask myself is ” if I’m consuming 1000 calories less every week, why don’t I continue to lose weight?” I’m sure the answer is out there somewhere. Mind you, I was given a box of chocolate coated nuts this week and surprise, surprise the box is almost empty.
Be kind to yourselves and don’t set any goals for rapid weight loss as are in all fad diets. It’s a recipe for failure. It’s a marathon not a sprint as our wise founder CG often says.

Thanks CG and all, it’s nice to feel welcomed 🙂

Oops, missed about 7 posts and replied to the earlier one from CG. Blame pagination. Appreciate the welcomes and advice from everyone, I did grab a salad for lunch but at $12.50 it was highway robbery – will have to look into the supermarket options.

Thinking of nuts did anyone see the article in news.com.au about peanuts extending your lifespan or something (I know, there’s a new one of these every week but I’m partial to all nuts so it’s nice to see some positive press).

Salmon is on the menu for dinner so I’ll steer clear of all carbs and just load up on lots of veggies and the fish. Yum yum!

Mike, that’s perfect and a meal a lot of us have on fast nights. If you save 50 cals you can finish off with a hot chocolate, so yum and helps alleviate to sweet cravings, also warming before bed. Your doing well, stick with it. You will learn in the next few days to prepare for fasts. The low cal cup a soups, LaZuppa are really good, I some times have two a couple of hours apart, they are very handy, also a hard boiled egg mid arvo, it’s surprisingly filling 🙂 there are so many tricks we can teach you, so stay with us,you will find it very rewarding. We do have another male, Andrew who went to Broome some time back for holidays,???? Think he must have stayed! Sticking to your TDEE through the week is a major coo but we all tend to let our hair down Friday night and Saturday, ease up Sunday then back into it Monday 🙂 This is a way of life/eating so don’t be too hard on yourself, IT IS NOT A DIET, only two days fasting and portion control and calorie counting (TDEE) the other days. As you get more used to knowing what to eat you can stop counting on the other 5 days, but I’m still not that confident. Only Friday night and Saturday I throw caution to the wind 🙂 So you are now part of our AUSSIE DETERMINATION team and YOU CAN DO IT 🙂 xxx

Team, just heard from GG, she is still in Sydney, her Dad isn’t good at all and she has a funeral next week up there too, so it’ll be a few more days till you hear from her. Plus, she didn’t take her lap top! Xxxxx

Hi Team well my FD is blown out of the water but I’m happy about it! Our olive tree had its first crop ready so we decided to pick it today. All in all we picked about 18 kilos (lost count with the weighing!). I got Chris to put on some italian music so we could hear it outside as we did the job (blow the neighbours). Then….Chris suggested that we should go out and buy an italian panini for lunch when we finished, but closest we could get was a Mediterranean frittata. Then a chai latte, then a TINY piece of his carrot cake. So FD out the window by now & we’ve decided to have an italian dinner that I’m about to cook to finish off a lovely day. Veal milanese & milanese risotto – nothing fast day about either of those, not within my TDEE either I would expect. It was such a fun day I just want it to keep going. Oh & then we’re watching an italian movie (gee you’d think we’re obsessed wouldn’t you, but we love all things french just as much if not more).

Never mind as CG says we have to live & take these opportunities when we can. Will fast tomorrow but don’t expect to see a loss this week. BUT I know which is more important in the grand view of life…….and 5:2 will forgive me next week!
suejen…..off to cook up a storm XXX

PS forgot to mention the job to come which is cutting every #$&* single one of those little pipsqueaks so they will release their bitterness before we brine them. Oh JOY!!!!!!!!!

I’m fasting tomorrow too suejen, over did it today, just wrong food choices! Friend called in THREE chocolate biscuits and a latte mmmm toasted cheese sandwich with soup for lunch ….and the beat goes on! Funny how once we start going down that path we keep going…mind set!! So tomorrow, a good clean fast, my third for the week. I hope you all went well today, weigh in tomorrow for most of you, don’t put too much faith in the figures on the scales or let them control the day for you. You are doing all that is expected of you so be happy. Have a lovely evening team 🙂 xxxxx

OK we’ll do it together CG. My dinner had so much oil & butter in it and it tasted delicious! OH was delighted with it all. But he even went & had sweets after all I had cooked (left over from visitors a few nights ago). I couldn’t have eaten another mouthful! But one happy gal here…haven’t had as happy a day as that for a long time.
Thank goodness I got my nice fresh farm eggs from my friend at pilates today, so I can be all organised for tomorrow. But as I said I don’t expect a loss this week and I won’t be worried at all. Next week we can do that.
Thank God for happy days that lighten our spirits. sj XXX Have a good FD CG.
And you’re sure right about that mindset CG I find it really hard to stop once I’ve allowed myself to start. You know that old mindgame of “Oh what’s a bit more going to hurt! You’re already way over. May as well make the most of it!!” etc etc. But NOT tomorrow….I will be in control.

Hi All, yes I am in Russia now! Arrived in Helsinki after 3 flights only to have an ATM “capture” our card as we tried to get euros.
One day later, about an hour before we were leaving for St Petersburg, my husband’s computer died. So he has stolen his baby one back from me and as he is a workaholic, I am not going to get on here often to check in.

I have been doing OK with eating since leaving airports but have been having plenty of wine. They even served champagne at breakfast this morning on arrival.
Welcome, Mike, I was doing OK until I started to plateau and had to cut back on wine. Sad but it did work!It is only temporary!

Feeling jet lagged. Will be back in Helsinki in a few days by boat and the time zone is the same. A bit tired to write much but you do have some funny experiences travelling, particularly in Russia. Just had a pot of tea brought out to me followed by a dish of jam. When I queried it,I was told it was so I could have my tea however I want. I skipped it, and am really none the wiser! Not much english so it has been pretty funny at times. More when I am feeling human again and can get back to the computer.

Off for a nap, good luck to everybody with everything! A lot going on on this thread at the moment!

    Hello,
And I should say good morning because the majority of you are tucked away asleep right now.

I have a general question. My OH and I notice that the day aft we fast we are both prone to move body aches. Anyone else experience this? It ok up fasting for a variety of reason. It was nto just for weight management. I was very interested in how fasting benefits inflammation and strengthens our brains.

    R

    Hi All!
Very late for me to check in today….had a very busy morning helping to track down those missing payments for my hubby. Then got glammed up for meal in fancy restaurant with the ladies from my french class. The venue was a beautiful old manor house, surrounding by mature trees and walled garden; the food was beautiful and there was the odd glass of Sav Blanc, of course!! 🙂 The lunch lasted four and half hours, so I think it’s safe to say we all enjoyed ourselves 😉
Doggy – hope your knee is starting to feel better; I believe if you alternate hot and cold packs, it can be very beneficial. I’m sure your plateau will move soon too, don’t lose heart xx
CG – thanks for letting us know about GG. Please give her my love and best wishes; a very difficult and emotional time for her, I’m sure. Well done for tackling a third fast day in the week; best of luck.
Up – glad to hear you are enjoying your experiences; it’s wonderful to travel and see how other people live, eat, dress, speak etc. Soak it all in and savour every moment xx
SJ – sounds like you have la dolce vita sorted. I love the humour and optimism that shines out of your posts and I’m so happy that you are grabbing every chance that life sends your way! Enjoy 🙂
Raven – I can’t say that I have noticed any joint stiffness after fasting, but I am very interested in the effects on the brain longterm (on dementia, for example) and on the body (preventing cancer etc); so I hope that we are all reaping those benefits even if the scales are not moving much.
I’ll check in later on when all you sleeping beauties have woken up! Bye for now xx

Good morning team, up before the chooks again this morning, no reason, just woke early and craved my coffee. (Actually more bed space, the boys had all pushed into my for warmth and I couldn’t move! ) They are so heavy on top of the bed and when I roll over lose my doona.
Upt, what wonderful experiences you are having, Russia always sounds so romantic and mysterious I guess it’s the spy movies we were bought up on. I still think I’d be nervous for some reason or looking over my shoulder but oh, the beautiful sites you will be seeing 🙂 ” live for the moments you cany put into words”
Raven, I wake up with aches EVERY morning 🙂 and just put it down to age, arthritis and everything else that comes from working all my life! I couldn’t start my day without a hot shower to warm the muscles and get me moving. I haven’t notice any difference with fasts but do notice with my weight loss it is easier on the body with less to tote around 🙂 Take note of what you do do on fast days, wether you do extra to stay busy which could cause a few aches.
Fit, so glad you had such a lovely time at lunch. I bet you looked lovely too, it sound quite posh, was the pinky pointed up 🙂 ? It is lovely to step outside of our comfort zones and realise we are the same as others and feel just as comfortable in lovely places like that as we do at the local 🙂 Being an old manor house would mean it was someones home many years back, a bit downtown abby, a beautiful era.
Well fasting again today, forcing myself to see if my metabolism is moving. If it’s not, I don’t really care, I’m very happy at my weight and shape, I’m not 21 any more so don’t think I could carry “skinny” and don’t wish to. If my fast goes belly up towards days end I’ll just accept 2.5 fasts for the week instead of 3 🙂 My focus now is 13 days to go for my op, staying off the smokes (as best I can) eating too many hard jubes which I have become addicted to (damn) and basically just staying well. I “played” out in the greenhouse yesterday, and will do again today, lots to be done, been a bit slack, and trying to keep up or ahead with things, as I know not will be done for quite some time….oh how frustrating! 🙁 but so worth it. I was asked out for lunch and a movie For Sunday with the usual group of girls, so plan to wear a leather skirt GG sent me and is dying to see on me. I hope I do it justice! The movie we are seeing is “Spy” so looking forward to a nice day 🙂
Happy day team, it’s your day, it will never come again, make each post a winner and enjoy every step of your journey, that’s just as important as the destination 🙂 xxxxx

Hi there CG – we’ll have to rename you ‘dawn’, you’re up so early. Your boys are well spoiled; pushing you out of bed!! Yes, the place we had lunch was once a family home, built in the 1700’s. The present owners also lived in it before turning it into an hotel a few years ago. It was a genteel sort of place but without airs and graces, so there was no need to raise my pinky!! 😉 Off to my black tie ball on Saturday and that will be a posh do – feeling a bit like Cinderella at the moment…..but I’ll be back in my rags driving a pumpkin on Sunday 😆 I agree that skinny is not a good look at our age and does us no favours, so it’s better to be healthy and happy and feeling good about ourselves. I hope you manage to quit the smokes completely and well done for cutting back so much in preparation for your op. If you don’t lose anything before then, maybe it’s your system hanging on to some reserves for the recovery period afterwards. I bet you will look fab in the leather skirt. Enjoy the movie and take care pal.

Lovely to hear from you Fit, have you decided which ball gown to wear? I’m sure you’ll look beautiful in either, your mood alters your face and the happiness shines through. You were saying about your arms, something I never even think about. You know I bet no one else notices. I saw a doco many years ago on Diana just after marrying Charles, she was asked that being so photographed and beautiful, is there anything she would change….she said she hated her big nose!!! I had never noticed her nose until SHE pointed it out. We should see ourselves as others do, don’t point out what we class as faults, hold the head high and walk tall, others have the same hang ups but seeing the over all person is so much more important. (I still look at Diana’s nose now when they show her….wish she had never mentioned it) , wear the dress Fit, don’t let it wear you 🙂 enjoy your evening xxx

What you say is true, CG, and I’m trying to look at the bigger picture instead of just my arms. My daughter also has a beautiful ball gown (without sleeves) so I’m going to try on all three options tomorrow and see which one gets the vote from the ‘judges’ (OH, sister and daughter!). I will also see which one feels most comfortable and doesn’t ‘wear me’! As usual, you know exactly the right thing to say…thanks!

As long as you get the final vote Fit 🙂 xxxxx

    Good Morning Gang

CG, please make sure to send through a picture of yourself in leather skirt and I will post it on the thread for you. I am sure you will compliment the skirt more than it compliments you 😉

Fit, happy to hear from you and that you have uplifted moods. Glad that you enjoyed the lunch, the venue sounds mesmerizing.

SJ, happy to hear that you enjoyed your Italian fare. Guess what I am planning for Saturday (tomorrow). Sav with cheese crackers and olives…LOL…You got me into thinking of olives and now I need to have them with my wine…

Upt, just go with the flow and don’t worry about a few glasses of sav/champagne or whatever alcohol here n there. Enjoy each n every moment. They say that the best way to understand any culture is through their food. So, don’t miss out on that. You are already aware of your food choices. And you look wonderful. 🙂 🙂

Raven, I used to have achy muscles as well. Then I started to drink more fluids. I noticed that mo re fluids definitely helped the body aches. Are you drinking enough (water 😉 ) on fast days? Hope you start to feel better soon as it gets annoying.

Diip, thinking of you. Haven’t heard from you for a while…

Weigh in day for me today. Up by almost a kilo. so current weight is 69.7 kilos.
I was 68.8 kg before I left for Sydney. My over indulgence in Sydney has paid off. After 2 fasts this week, I am still up by a kilo. But no regrets, this will go away in no time. (positive thinking FB)

FB, still a fantastic weight, remember how far you have come, not how far you want to go 🙂 Will you email me, so I have your address, GG is away so can’t forward pics to her 🙂
Enjoy you day Kitty Kat 🙂 xxxx

    Good morning everyone

Still here FB, had nothing to report until now and I am quite annoyed as I did really well yesterday FD and I am the same weight as I was yesterday morning after a normal day. Hruummp! 🙂 Oh well at least I did not go up. The best thing is that I have still not gone back to my starting weight, even after blow outs. I am not even going to plan ahead anymore, it just puts more pressure on you I think, (like when you have a gym membership and you don’t use it, haha)

FB, our bodies are strange (as everyone has said before)you have to be just so proud that you r 69kgs. 🙂

Welcome Mike, I too need to cut back on the wine like UPT has mentioned, good luck with your journey on this WOL and with us AD’s.

UP – Bubbles with breakfast, wish I was sitting there with you.

SJ/CG, so lucky you both have all that fresh produce, I love olives but am sure they are v hard work. Can’t wait to see u in that leather skirt CG.

All too many posts on here this morning, will read properly later.

Have a good day everyone. xx

Good day all. CG I was also up early. Before cock crow actually. I had Pepper desexed as few days ago and he’s still a tad uncomfortable. Frosty start to the day. I’m resting up today. I have an ice pack on the *%#+¥€>! knee.
Raven I haven’t noticed any untoward aches following my FD. I am a firm believer that fasting is very good for the brain. I’m of an age where I’m very conscious of keeping as well mentally as I possibly can.
CG I’m so pleased for you that you are still off the smokes. Well done you. Not long to go now.
I don’t know if any of you suffer from constipation since starting the 5:2. It’s been a constant problem for me. BUT I’ve found a recipe for Miso and shiitake mushroom broth that acts like alimentary canal washout. I don’t know which particular ingredient is responsible but it works. I’m happy to supply the recipe if anyone is interested.
Stat day here and no weight loss or measurement either but no gain so that’s OK. It’s a sort of half birthday for me as it’s exactly six months since starting the 5:2. I’ve lost just over 10 kilos and feel a lot better all round.
    Enjoy the day team.

@#$@%@%^ I lost my long post with replies for everyone!!

Anyway, good morning team! I’ll write later today, but just wanted to say – what lovely, encouraging and humorous posts all around 🙂
Sending GG and Gypsy hugs (also have not heard from her or I missed the posts) – tough times for them, but these are strong, determined ladies!

Doggy – yes please, to the recipe. I get constipated sometimes after FD. So it will be good to have that, especially for weigh-in day 😉 (ok, TMI)

Raven – I too get leg cramps on the nights after a fast. I was told to take calcium-magnesium supplements at night about 1 hour before sleeping (also aids sleep). It works well, the only thing is, I usually forget to take them, and then wake with achy legs at about 2 in the morning! oh well… It passes…

CG, just sent you an email.

Diip, good to hear from you. As you rightly said, atleast there is no gain. I reckon we all are at a stage where a loss every week is just not possible. We should actually be happy about that.

Doggy, really hope that your knee starts to feel better soon. Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you have to take pain killers for the knee pain, maybe, let go of fasting for few days as pain killers are nasty when it comes to empty tummy.
And yes, recipe please as I always suffer from horrible constipation issues as well.

Lotus, hope you are settling well with jet lag and the extreme change in weather.

FB – thanks, much better now (except for minor sniffles, more annoying to others than me 🙂 ) Fasting today, and going shoe-shopping at lunch break instead of lunch 😉

    Wow, we’re a chatty bunch, that’s nice…

Question: are there more favoured days of the week (within this group) for FDs? I like the idea of logging in on a FD and sharing “real time” as the day unfolds… Tuesdays and Thursdays seem popular. Any thoughts?

Hi Mike whatever suits your routine or social life. We mostly do Monday and Thursday, but if doing 4:3 (3 fast days a week) We do Monday Wednesday and Friday, then weigh Saturday instead of Friday..Confused???
I have just got in from shopping, already had a hand full of fresh cold cuts grrrr, Note to self: never shop on fast days!
I had the BIG 3 day pig out last weekend, Tuesday I weighed myself…shock horror! From 75.0 up to 78.9 yikes….so had a sneek preview this morning after two fasts and 75.8k so it’s moving 🙂 so today, if I last……and there’s no reason I shouldn’t should put me back to normal (well for me) so team, it is doable 🙂 all happened in 7 days 🙂
I can’t see me being as rigid tonight though, it’s Friday and feels like play up night. Couple of Bourbons should do much damage? Right??
Have a happy day team, think positive, got the email FB thank you xxxxxx

CG – don’t you think that is a massive loss within 3 days? – 3.9kgs up and then you lose 3.1kgs, awesome. Fluid mainly you think?

Yes CG, I agree with DiiP, you tend to retain a lot of fluid. So any temporary gains should not worry you. I know its easier said than done. But always keep this in mind before you freak out when you see big gain like that.

    Lotus, enjoy your shoe shopping.

I went for shopping during my lunch break too. I foolishly wore my jeans in the morning before realizing that they are a bit too loose now. and I did not like my legs in those jeans..LOL. So went out and bought new pair of Leather panel leggings. Tried on size 12, too big… ended up getting size 10.

I know i know, they are stretchy, but hey, I don’t ever pick up size 10 when I go shopping. Even size 12 in dresses that I tried on were very loose today.

Either they have started to make bigger size 12 in everything or I am actually down to size 10. Confused, me too…. LOL…
it is hard to believe that I have dropped a dress size as my weight has not changed much.

Other update, my bras and undies are too loose now. This change in my sizing in intimate apparel seems to happen overnight. 2 weeks back, I could wear the current size bras just fine and now way too big… (Sorry men in the group)

PS: My bum still sticks out like Donald Duck… (Quack quack)

ha haha ha ha CG, this time I had a verbal diarrhea…

FB – too funny. You have OBVIOUSLY dropped in clothe sizes – LUCKY you.

and I bet your bum does not stick out 🙂

Yes I agree team, fluid, but how does fluid come from butter, latte’s chocolates, bread….all the junk I ate last week end. It has to turn to fat at some time, right?? I’m not questioning it just pondering how it works because nothing was held back last week end food wise. So so glad we came across 5:2, but also if that is possible to lose in 7 days, why doesn’t it budge when no pig outs are eaten? Why do we plateau? I seem to have more questions now than ever. FB what a thrill for you girl SIZE 10 WOOOHOOOO,! Skinny Minny 🙂 I’m have the same problems with undies, shouted myself newies a few weeks back and now the legs are too wide. And getting a wedgie! Extra material looking for somewhere to hide 🙂
Had a grain bread sandwich for lunch, bit of shaved ham and tomato, omelette for dinner with mushrooms, so not quite a full fast but still pretty good. Hanging to see the scales in the morning 🙂 xxxxx

Wow you guys are a blast… I can see we’re gonna have fun. Congrats FB on the size 10, what an achievement 🙂

OK I’m gonna try my second FD on Monday, prepare a few eggs in advance and see how easy/hard it is. I used to do 5 and 7 day fasts back in the day so hopefully I’ve still got the flexibility on that front… will let y’all know on Monday.

Have a good weekend all 🙂

I agree CG, it cannot all be fluid, and also would like to know the answers to your questions….. funny about the undies too!

Waste of money too! 🙂 I have been keeping up with fluids, more so than usual in a real effort to beat this plateau, that’s why I did the pig out, to get the metabolism working, well it has, but why not through normal weeks, when I’m normally so careful?
Maybe the trick IS to eat up to your TDEE to make the fast count, as 500 on fast days is NOT a quarter of my TDEE. I usually sit around 1200-1250 but rarely go over, may be the reason or setting my fast day lower, but that will be tooooo hard! 🙁 oh well trial and error xxxx

Mind set Mike … you CAN do it…plan, be prepared and follow through 🙂 it gets easier each time..CG xx

Hi team!! What fun conversations we all have here 😉
FB (and other losers) – if you are getting new lingerie, get to shop to get measured and fitted. Not even a department store or Victoria Secret, but a smaller business where the owner knows how to fit… I went to Mary Hollands in Sydmey and my size is entirely different to what I was planning to buy! And clothes feel better on too with new underpinnings 🙂 I bought one from them and others from dept stores, but price is not too different.
FB – congrats on ge size 10 – wow girl!! Well done!! I bought shoes from Rockport – they have amazingly comfortable heels and there is a sale on too atm.
Mike- all the very best for your second fast!!
I had an egg white omelette this morning and then only soup the arvo , and chicken salad at night as it got too full, but all in all came to 450 calls today. Not bad 🙂

    Hi All!
Sitting here in glorious sunshine (fourth day in a row!!!!) and having a right laugh at all the goings on here 😆
FB – size 10! Wow! It is amazing how our shape changes even when the scales don’t – it just proves how many benefits are happening behind the scenes. And don’t knock your curves, your bum does not stick out, it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do…you look fab 🙂
Doit – take heart, remember that not going up is also success and when you start to move again, it’s from a lower starting point – if that makes sense!
Doggy – it’s good to look back and see how far you have come in six months; 10kg is fantastic. Keep up the good work and things will start to move again soon, I’m sure. Hope Pepper and your knee are better soon xx
Lotus – so annoying when you lose a long post but lovely to hear from you and that your sniffles are nearly gone. Enjoy the shoe shopping; have your feet got smaller? Mine have…isn’t that strange?
Mike – I fast Mondays and Thursdays too except when a special occasion comes up and I swap the FDs around. That’s one of the reasons this wol is so successful; because we can adapt it to fit our lifestyle and not have to throw in the towel if we have a bad day. Sorry I can’t post in ‘real time’ because I live in Ireland so I’m catching up on my beauty sleep while all you folks are busy checking in here. Best of luck….sounds like you’re all set for success! 🙂
CG – you’re doing a great job undoing the blowout of last weekend and you know the rest will be gone soon. We all have to remind ourselves that there is no deadline here as this is a wol and sometimes the losses will come quicker than others for lots of reasons. So hang on to all the good habits you have established and keep the faith! I laughed out loud at your description of your undies “extra material looking for somewhere to hide” 😆 You’re a hoot!
Love to Gypsy, GG, Raven, Up (wherever you are!), SJ, Andrew, Milena, MG and all the rest of the wonderful ADers!! Have a terrific weekend.

Fit, you are right 🙂 My feet have gone down in size… and with less weight to carry around, wearing heels is a pleasure again 😉
Our bodies are very, very clever, isn’t it? when our weight goes up, especially around the middle (I think pregnant ladies also have shoe size changes?), our feet grow to provide stability! Truly I apologise to my body every day to be treating such a precise piece of engineering so shabbily for so many years 🙂

Fit you are starting to pick up on my warped sense of humour 🙂 you often need to read between the lines to find it, but you usually do 🙂 Big night coming up, getting excited?? 🙂 Don’t be nervous, just excited, you will look beautiful….and we want a pic..okay? Xxx
Gone over a bit tonight, not as clever as Lotus, up to 700 but not too worried
    Happy evening team xxxx

Hi, late poster today, got caught up this morning. Talking about TDEE and fasting calories, what is everyone’s totals? I worked mine out at 1870 cals per day, based on lightly active. My fast day calorie intake should therefore be 467, is that correct? Weigh in day tomorrow…I wonder what the result will be???

Jb, that’s the question we all ask. Most of us find eating under our TDEE on most days and staying around 500 on fast days works for us all. As your weight drops so does your TDEE but it makes fasting cals being a quarter, almost impossible 🙂 hope that helps 🙂 xxx

Well today was another counselling day and all I gotta say is that I’ve eaten anything and everything in sight. That’s it. Def not a fast day, not even a TDEE day. sj xx

Chin up SJ – tomorrow (or even next week!) is another day 🙂
Jaybee- on the tab somewhere they say unless you work in a physically active role / don’t want to lose too much weight – keep your activity level sedentary for calculating TDEE – sorry dear! I think I just cut some more calories off your plate…

Ha ha CG, me not clever, I just narrowly escaped carbs all day… To come up to 470 calls by night!

JB – sorry I left you out of the list earlier; please don’t take it personally, I have a terrible memory! 😳 I also calculate my TDEE based on sedentary profile and then try to keep below that on non-fast days and try to eat 500 cals or less on fast days. (You will notice the use of the word ‘try’ 😉 !)
SJ – don’t be hard on yourself, you give so much to others so you need to forget about 5:2 on occasion when the need arises xx
CG – I love a good laugh and I think a sense of humour is essential to get through life’s ups and downs. I will definitely take photos and see if my tech-savvy daughter can help me upload them when she’s home next week.
Lotus – I would be turning cartwheels if I ate only 470 cals on a FD…well done!
