As the title suggests – after 1 week of fasting I had to stop as I had the most horrific tonsillitis I’ve had in years, requiring antibiotics. I didn’t fast that week but have been fasting twice weekly ever since then. But now I’m ill again – this time a chest infection, also needing antibiotics. I was always a bit susceptible to a cold or two but never needing antibiotics so much before. Any others with a similar experience, or any advice out there to get me well again?

I’m afraid not Jenny, I’ve been doing this for 13+ months and despite the fact that I would usually have a cold every time the weather changes and at least 1 ‘3 day’s under the duvet’ illness a year, I have had maybe 1 very minor bout of cold since starting the 5:2. It seems to have done wonders for my immune system.
I’m so sorry you’re poorly though, I hope you feel better soon.
