  • Welcome to Outstanding October Challenge!

Lou here (Amsterdam Netherlands, 70 yo), first time challenger. Did 5:2 in 2013 with a bunch of co workers and lost 10 kilo’s over a year. Easy peasy. They stayed off until a couple of months ago, when my clothes suddenly seemed all having been washed too hot. And then I detected funny rings just above my middle, like a lopsided camel and what happened to the stretch in my jeans?

Friends comforted me by telling me that the new statines were the problem and that they had the same issue. But statines or not, I want to get rid of the bulges and the kilo’s. On the other hand, this is my first FD in years, not even 2:00 PM and I am already craving for food. I really hope to get the hang of it again somehow and meet all of you, likeminded co sufferers, here to support and comfort one another.

    Day 30 – UK – FD

@brightonbelle – I too have been bouncing up and down this month – I will weigh in tomorrow to see if I managed any loss, even a small one will make me feel better……Thank you for hosting Succeed in September, even though it just got away from me, much busier than anticipated but I was lurking in the background even though I haven’t posted since Day 8…..

My left shoulder rotator cuff injury is perhaps slightly less painful than it was at the beginning of the month, I have a 4 week review with the physio next week and hoping that she will arrange for a scan as it certainly not 50% better….

Congratulations to those who have stuck to their plan and showed a downward trend – and to those like me who are struggling along we can keep making small steps and make October Outstanding with @excelsior12309 and yes @merryapple I can get the spreadsheet done and posted today

    See you all tomorrow

2 posts today have disappeared into the ether, so keeping this short! Thanks @brightonbelle for hosting, calling it a success because I’m gradually getting back into the 5:2 routine but I’m not doing my monthly weigh in until tomorrow for the start of Outstanding October.

September result lost 1.5kg, so ok with that. Especially as I ate a bar of chocolate and had some wine over the weekend, it was nut chocolate so told myself it is half healthy…. Only another 5kg to go and maybe I can loose the Statins.

Brightonbelle you did a great job hosting September.
    Bring it on October.

I shall check in with you at the weekend, hope you can manage some 16 hours!! 👍🏼

    Day 30, London, UK, FD800

So after 4 days of FD800’s and 3 days of controlled(-ish) eating, I’m down 3lbs this morning, it better stick until my final ‘Succeed in September’ weigh-in tomorrow morning!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I had a roofer look at my roof yesterday, he thinks it’s a few loose or missing tiles and will carry out repairs tomorrow🙏🏼🙏🏼. On first noticing a damp patch in the wardrobe during decorating I reached out to the vendors via the estate agent and they said they had never had an issue and there was NO patch in the wardrobe………………. Lies of course, I doubt I could do anything now in terms of compensation, so I’ll get on with it and know that Karma will bring balance at some point!! My survey said the roof was ‘worn’ and might need renewing in 10 years or so.😳

@merryapple, so good to hear you’re out and about with a furry friend, happy days helping you recover!🐶

@missybear, I hope the viewing went well and an offer is in the pipeline!!🙏🏼🙏🏼

@stitchincarol, you OWN that number!!! Congratulations, Day 27 is your day, I count all glimpse as set in stone, no matter what happens the next day!!🤣🤣 Sorry to hear about the shingles, I hope the drugs kick in and ease your pain as well as speed your recovery!💊💊

Good to know all is ok with you @northgeorgia, such a scary thing to experience, I can’t even imagine!⛈

@penz, yes Bo-Bo has ventured out ……………… and come back!!! He seems happy, if a bit lonely, 2 best mates and a couple of girlfriends have been left behind! The fences are a bit higher in the new garden and as a chunky 6kg boy, he’s a bit reluctant to visit the neighbours.

@brightonbelle thank you for hosting this challenge …………………. I think I really did ‘Succeed’ in September!!!🏆🏆 Onwards to being Outstanding in October!!!

@at are you out there and able to do the sheet?!
I sat down at the computer and realised none of my fingers poke out beyond my wrapped up backslab so I can’t use the computer to set up this month’s sheet…

News flash of the day is this avo I had a 💩after 8 days🤣 and am looking forward to tomorrow’s new monthly weigh in!!! I know, too much info!!!

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

GDSA, ha ha, thanks for the info and the laugh. You paint a grim picture.

Quacka, interesting that you considered WA. I take a dim view of real estate agents and their shameful business model. They’ll say whatever it takes to get the listing and then conduct their future business from your kitchen counter under the guise of a ‘home open’. When we were selling our house in Perth, someone gave me a book entitled, ‘Don’t Sign Anything’ and it was the best read ever. It was a buyers’ market back then but I sold our house for $300k more than the agent wanted to list it for (let alone what he’d later have tried to grind us down to had he secured the listing). It’s a totally different market now of course and we probably should have downsized there and then. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Anyway, exciting that you’re off travelling! Don’t be anxious, just have fun. New Zealand will be a great introduction for you. Stunning scenery around every bend.

Day after FD for me. I’m having two this week as I’ve been overdoing it food-wise. The second will be on Wednesday. I did stick to my plan of no alcohol last week except for the anniversary night out – we each splurged on a ridiculously overpriced Singapore Sling before the meal. We can buy a whole bottle of gin for what they cost! How do people justify spending that kind of money for a cocktail? DD met up with some high school friends in Scotland last weekend and she said that one of them ordered 12 cocktails over the course of the weekend – along with ‘olives for the table’ (£10), starters, main and dessert – and then suggested they split the cost of the bill.

Have a good week all. Stay strong.

@penz – you have to work on your motivation, it won’t come knocking on your door. You must have some, or else you wouldn’t be here? But then I guess you could argue that you have to be motivated to work on your motivation 😅 Personally, just thinking about the health benefits, preventing diabetes etc is enough for me. Remaining slim & healthy. Feeling/looking better. It’s just for one day; & you’ll be asleep for a third of it.

Thank you @brightonbelle for hosting the September Challenge 💐

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

In fact, I could join you several times a week. We eat before 7pm and then I usually have breakfast at 6am, but if I forgo breakfast, that would bring me up to 17 hours fasting, as we have lunch at 12 at work.

I know that fasting will trim the inches and help the scales to move too. If I did two 17 hour fasts during the week and a 24 hour at the weekend, that should really help to reduce the inches. My hips and waist are 2 inches less now from when I started in April, but I would really like to reduce them again by the same amount. My guess is that I will need to shift 14lb to do that.

Shall we reconvene at the weekend to see how it went?

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

Yes, Iona it’s been a goal for ages to stop the blood pressure tablets. My logic is that if there’s less of me, that should be possible.

Are you planning a 16 hour fast every day forever?

A friend of mine in a bid to lose weight for a replacement knee, skips breakfast and has one meal a day in the evening. She has lost 3 stone.

Keep us updated to date, Iona.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

    Good Morning Everyone

Thank you for the congratulations! I am up 1kg after 4 days of NFD. I didn’t really go much overboard but it is pretty usual for my weight to go up and down.

Today is my Monday FD so I hope to be back in 77s tomorrow and then see what happens later in the week. We have a long weekend coming up which will probably undo some of this work but whatever (**shrugs**). I am still going to live my life. I focus on 5:2 being a way of life not a quick fix.

Neil, it’s good to have goals. I have a long term goal and then my short term goals are one kg at a time. So my next goal is the 76s.

Thin, it’s interesting reading about your life on the boat and all the challenges that you face. What an adventure!

We went to WA last year and had a look around at a few blocks of land. We contacted two real estates about two different blocks and I have to say they are the worst over there!! One agent didn’t even call us back and the other wanted to put us into a sales contract just to make an offer!! Since then property prices have risen 15% in a year. At times I wish we persevered and bought something but on the other hand I’m happy we didn’t as we are now going to start travelling.
It’s very exciting for me and I’m also a little anxious (as in a lot). First overseas destination is New Zealand in November. (I’m hoping all that cold weather has gone by then, Neil!). I’m looking forward to catching some of your big Kingfish and also seeing the beautiful scenery. Everyone I’ve spoken to has told me how beautiful it is so I can’t wait to see it for myself. Mr Q wants to go white water rafting and jet boating as well. First stop over there is Raglan for the awesome left hander apparently lol
We also have the Maldives booked for next year. This is Mr Q’s dream. We stop at Singapore for two nights on the way so that will be an experience for us too. NZ will be our first overseas trip

Well I better go and do some work. Anyone fasting with me today? If you are, hope it goes easy for you and to all of us a Happy Day 🙂

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

An annual check up always gives the mind a focus! Good luck in your efforts, I’m trying to do 16 hour fast each day this coming week with an earlier evening meal or a later breakfast. It should be quite doable, I’ll report back later in the week.

  • Hello Southern Hemispherites!!

Found the perfect property for you thin.

    https://www.domain.com.au/1-fourth-street-beltana-sa-5730-2019052127?utm_source=www.domain.com.au&utm_medium=sharelisting

This is certainly a down sizer. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, no maintenance yard because it’s bushland, population of 35, views of the Flinders Ranges, 540kms from Adelaide and a very affordable price tag. Haha just kidding, this listing came up on my feed and I thought of you. Probably slightly more remote and under populated than what you were anticipating.

Honestly Thin every state in Australia is doing it tough with out of control cost of living and ridiculously high house and rent prices, you won’t escape that no matter which state or area you choose unfortunately.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

Turns out the cat lives 2 house’s from me, she has another cat and a dog. She is trying to re-home it because it keeps disappearing.Ive just ordered a heated throw for me, Denise already as one. No doubt Chloe will want to get under it with me. I call her my big hot water bottle 😀.

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Afternoon All…
Two lovely walks in the lovely fresh air, so different to Texas..
I have been to have lunch at Jacqui’s nice catch up.. they are getting excited they go to Texas in three weeks, just for a week half term holiday.

Weight is moving in the right direction. Fasting again tomorrow.

    Hedgehog..
I did have a piece of cheesecake and a small square of ginger type thing both very nice, the girls I was with all got up for more but I resisted..😇
We had a quiz and raffle, I think we made about £400 it was good to the amount of people there. They kept the cakes out for donations from the customers throughout the day.

    Dave…
Let’s hope you can get the cat to stay.. if you feed it it will stop. Do you think it’s a stray and homeless/lost?
Chicken sandwich for me, it’s enough

It’s chilly here, make the sandwich and get my electric throw out and snuggle down for the night.

    Day 29 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. Not pretty, but today’s a FD, and other than the retirement reception tomorrow, my plan is to do a reset this week going into October. To be honest, I’ve let junk food stampeding into my life and I have suffered the cumulative effects of that. I have also been feeling unwell since getting a cold or some virus at the start of August — kind of a lingering bronchitis or something. My thought is that if it were viral it would have slowly gotten better, but now that two months have passed, not so sure. I’m going to try to set up something this week to find out what is going on. I think all of this is connected somehow and getting me off track.

    Afternoon!
I hope the cat comes back Dave … Chilly here too, resisting putting heating on yet, don’t normally until late October! Hope you all, including Chloe, enjoy the chicken!
Had a lie-in for me- 8am! Interesting going out a bit later with Xena, the walks are busier, today we met 3 horses & lots of different dogs, Xena was good. Have done Church, lazy afternoon reading. We’re not having a big dinner tonight, hubby having tuna & cheese baguette, I’m doing tuna & cheese parcels- melt mozzarella slices & put tuna in the centre, fold them over, yummy (not for Dave though!). Not a very Sunday-like dinner!
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend xx

    Day 29 UK NFD

    QUick post for accountability.

Went to church, ate a twix bar at coffee time. The sugar and last night’s heap of dried mango have left me feeling pretty puffy. Nevertheless today’s lunch will be red lentil pasta with cheese and spinach sauce with a corn-on-the-cob on the side and the last of my plum/pear compote. If I’m still awake this evening I’ll have carrot/ginger/cannellini bean soup and an apple.

It’s mostly grey cloud and windy out today but I enjoyed the wind, that sense of autumn blowing in. I do like the transition seasons of autumn and spring. Now looking forward to wrapping up in cardis and scarves, breezy outings, hot soup and candle-lit suppers. It’s important for me to find ways to celebrate the darker months so that I don’t get too down – coziness, candles, books, steaming baths: here I come!

I’ve got some stuff to do before going away tomorrow but finding it hard to motivate myself as so tired/yawny. Despite an early night last night and a good sleep. Planning to fill up my weekly drug boxes after lunch and change into PJs. There’s nothing to stop me going to bed at 5pm and sleeping/resting through til 7am, which would be bliss! That gives me plenty of time in the morning to finish packing ahead of meetings and catching my train….

Wishing you all a healthy, happy Sunday whatever that looks like

Quite nippy outside, the cat is still there, my son’s talking about getting it a bowl to drink out of. He made it another little house but it got soaked so needs something better now. Roast chicken tonight. What you all up to?

  • Welcome to Outstanding October Challenge!

Welcome all to Outstanding October! I am starting a day or two early so we can all have time to get onboard “the Wagon” .
I am taking over from @brightonbelle, who guided us so well through September.
These monthly challenges go back all the way to 2016, when started by @coda. We like to break up our goals into manageable periods, and monthly goals seem do-able to most of us! Of course, everyone is free to set goals at any level, a pound a month, 5 pounds a month…you get the idea.
Here are some of the guiding principles we have used over the years:
    1) Posting. Please post something about yourself in your first post of the month. You would normally include the day of the month; where in the world you are (!); and whether the day is a fast day, a non-fast day, etc. We are located world-wide, so it is interesting to know who is on board at any given time.
It is helpful to include some facts about yourself, your fasting journey, your goals, and so on. You may include specific numbers of course, but this is entirely your choice. These facts about yourself and your fasting goals are helpful to anyone joining for the first time.
    2) Spreadsheet: We have an available spreadsheet with a separate link, for those who like to track themselves and they can also see the ups and downs of others using the spreadsheet.
Using the spreadsheet is optional. (Asking for assistance in posting the spreadsheet, as I do not have the skills for that!!!)
    3) Posting frequency: Most of us feel that daily or every other day posting is helpful in keeping us on the path…but again, that is a personal choice. Sometimes posters drift away and return later in the month–it is OK, all are welcome, members new and old.
    4) Content of the post is up to you. Feel free to share aspects of your daily life challenges. This includes health issues, home issues, family issues. These all impact our ability to manage our healthy choices. This is an incredibly supportive group of people with a wide range of life experiences. We all learn from and lean on each other!
    5) Pocket list: This is a way of knowing who in the world is fasting on the day you are fasting. It helps to support us. Pocket lists can be started by anyone. They might also be used for issues other than fasting, such as alcohol-free days, or daily exercise goals.
    6) 5:2 “Basics”. answers to FAQs and tips for success: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/
    7) We avoid the “F” word: No “Fail” here. Maybe, “Fall off the wagon”, but no “Fail” We are all here to encourage ourselves to get back on track!
    8) Lots of abbreviations show up here:
5:2 5 days of not fasting, and 2 days of fasting per week

    Day 29 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@stitchincarol – Shingles?! That can be nasty. But if that small area is the extent of the rash, then you’re – kind of – lucky. I had it right up my inner left arm, from my wrist almost to my armpit. Along with a pounding headache for a day or so.

@merryapple – any chance of compensation from the Auckland Council? Sounds like negligence on their part? But then pursuing a legal matter like that might finish up costing a fortune. I’d be inclined to fire off an email or two to whoever is responsible for the shoddy work, just to make me feel better 😒

My last FD for Successful September. Planning on making it a good one. Very windy right now, 50 km/h & another cold front sweeping the east of the country. I might wrap up for a quick walk later 🥶️

    Happy S🌞nday y’all!

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

I don’t have cake or biscuits in the house. But work just keeps refilling the biscuit tins.
On the plus side, weighed myself this morning and I am lighter. There are 3 weeks until half term, so the plan is to aim for a 3lb loss or shrinking inches, or both by then. That will bring me to pre Australia weight and to a new stone to lose. Bigger goal is 14lb in 14 weeks, which should be around the end of the year.
My arthritis in my foot is better with less of me. Annual checkup for blood pressure and cholesterol is in January. So my goal is to shift 17lb in total before then. It seems doable on paper.

Going forward I am planning to avoid the sweet stuff and aim for a 24 hour fast each Saturday. When it’s half term, the plan is to fast several times a week.
Thanks Ilona, sounds like you are making great progress.

    Day 29, NFD, Aus

Oh what a fun, but food and alcohol filled few days I’ve had!

Oh no, @merryapple, but the fact you had enough sense of humour to ask if your surgeon needed to sharpen his tools shows what a positive upbeat feel you have about the whole incident! Hope you recover quickly.

Like some of you (@flourbaby, @stitchincarol, @michelinme) I’ve revisited some old posts and motivational notes to myself as a kick in the pants to get back on track. In addition to reminding myself ot those positive vibes and commitment, I’ve decided my reward for losing some kilos (when that actually happens) is some new earrings. I have so many halves of pairs, having lost various ones over the years. Perhaps the sole earring has run off with a sock?

Hi @lilymartin – great to have you back but so sorry to see what an awful ride you’ve had of late. Cross fingers you normalise soon and can ditch all those meds.

Thank you @excelsior123909 for hosting next month. The October nomenclature is not an issue – the fact you have stepped up is all that is required!

How’s the unpacking going, @flourbaby? Has BoBo ventured outside yet? Wishing a dry spell on you so there’s no more potential damage to your ceiling – how terrible!! Will you be able to get a tradie in quickly/easily to fix it?

I’m intrigued @missybear – was the side effects that woman experienced part of what she was told might happen (even taking a placebo)? If so, that just highlights even more strongly the power of the mind!

Glad you weren’t too badly affected @northgeorgia? Looked like a bad hurricane from what I’ve seen on the news here.

Eek, @stichincarol. Hope those meds kick in quickly – my GP had shingles and said it was the worst thing she’s ever experienced. Is it too late to get the vaccine?

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

I could easily start on the cakes and biscuits again but when I think of my progress it stops me. I just don’t buy them now. I’ve even managed to persuade my OH that we buy far too many so he is cutting right back too. It’s good to have some support and not to be tempted by seeing them everyday. But I understand how difficult it must be when they are in the workplace. That’s really tough Annette. Good luck for the week ahead 💪

Denise is always cold in winter, she comes from a very hot planet Venus. I’m from Mars so much cooler there. The cat is back so I’ll see if it’s there when I take Chloe out. Got the Dyson hot and cold fan on tonight, it’s definitely not set to cold😁.

Dave- well done resisting all the food & beer 😇 We did enjoy the Nightsleeper… It’s definitely getting colder, how is Denise coping?!
Jean- hope the clothes you bought fit okay, well done getting straight back to fasting! Did you have any cake at the coffee morning yesterday?
Hemmy- hope you have a lovely week with Kristy, what is she eating now if she’s being faddy?! Thank you, Xena seems fine today, I was worried…I am taking it steady with the keto & not jumping into fasting, trying to reset my metabolism, you lose water weight straight away, it’s slowed down now but still a bit downwards! I will do some fasting soon.
Nana- hope you had a lovely break & haven’t put too much on…
We nipped into town this morning – didn’t wake up til late today so weren’t out early! Just bought some macadamia nuts I’ve been having with yoghurt for breakfast, although don’t have breakfast every day…Saw mum this afternoon, she’s calmed down after being get up with the solicitor stuff, but does seem worse with her memory 😢
Keto pizza for dinner, one of my favourite meals!

  • If your clothes are looser but the scales are the same, read on

    Hello everyone,
It’s not been a good week. Both biscuits and Thursday cake have been enjoyed and unsurprisingly there’s no difference to the scales or the tape measure. So I decided to fast this morning and see how I got on and managed to get to 21 hours. Hopefully I can be stronger next week and avoid the sweet stuff and shrink the waistline.
    Well done Ilona 😁

    Day 28 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 160.0

Okay, yesterday morning I weighed 157.2, last night I weighed 159.6, and this morning I was 160.0, so who knows. I ate reasonably at lunch and our dinner out last night, but then I had some dessert that was out of control. Thus, I blame myself, but know I can make things good today, and I’m fine.

The real issue is that I woke up on Friday morning with what appeared to be 7 spider bites in a row, red, and slightly swollen. Long story, but a friend looked at the picture I sent and said I needed to go to the clinic ASAP because she was sure it was shingles and the sooner I got meds, the better I’d fare. So I was out the door at 7:30 this morning and came home with the meds (an anti-viral med???) that will help. Thankfully, the area is only a half inch by less than three inches, so although it hurts constantly, it’s a tiny, tiny area to hurt, and I feel fine.

And NOW it’s the Cornhuskers playing Purdue, which is DSIL’s team, so I have a college football game to watch! 😉

I’ll read and respond to posts later, or whenever I’m able to find time. Have a grand one, everyone!

Hemmy it’s been a struggle eating after my holiday and have not got weighed. You would be proud of me today. It was a memorial bowling match today. They had lots of cakes and scones, plenty of beer and a big taterash.I love that but I came home quickly so I wouldn’t be tempted.Chilli for tea so looking forward to that.

    Day 28 UK CD

I spent this morning at a webinar which was really good. And kept me away from ideas of weekend brunch….

About to have a late lunch bowl of my 5 veg dahl with smoked tofu – yum! – plus a baby apple or two. Finally coming to the end of my last fruit & veg box, all batch cooked and frozen, with just apples and carrots to go. I’ll prob make like a horse and crunch them raw 😀 Early Supper will either be carrot and cannellini bean soup with pear/plum compote and soya yogurt or something I’ve not thought of yet! But as lunch & supper are so close together that seems like plenty to me!

Still ploughing through the admin relating to my mother’s death…. another special delivery form from my sister this morning which I’ve signed and packaged up for collection on Monday… We’ve barely begun to sift through worldy goods but at least we’ve got the legal and financial stuff well underway…

After a deeply gloomy grey cloud morning the sun is now beaming down and it feels really warm outside. I foresee at least an hour of pottering or sitting outside with a book as soon as i’ve eaten something… the weather is far too good to be enjoyed through the window!

@northgeorgia so glad you are okay
@excelsior12309 we’re an easy group! if you get the party started we’ll mostly entertain ourselves and all look after one another 🙂
@merryapple v glad you are home – and already out with the Scottie dog! Good luck with the cooking/eating one-handed.

@brightonbelle @excelsior12309 @merryapple Thank you for your encouragement! I’m at the easier early stage where, as long as you stick to healthy eating and 5:2 basics, the weight simply falls off. Case in point – I have a friend who I got into fasting a few years ago and who has just restarted FD800. After 3 weeks he’s lost a staggering 7KG – more than 15lbs! Now that’s motivation – and an extra boost for me too as we’ll now check in with one another and mutually encourage

@funshipfreddie thanks. I just remembered that I can simply click on their names to see when they’ve last posted – d’oh! @rainbowsmile was a challenge regular and frequent monthly host in 2017/18

@stitchincarol we have ‘stone’ coloured chinos here too – and it’s really on trend this autumn so you’ll be down with the cool kids

@flourbaby so sorry to hear about your roof – and into the sanctuary space of your bedroom too 🙁 I hope it’s something that can be fixed reasonably straightforwardly…

Right, off to get a bowl of dahl. Wishing you a happy Saturday whatever shape it has…

  • Fat Busting Brits!!

    Hemmy..
I didn’t eat a lot as I hate American food, a couple of good steaks, my breakfasts… it’s the wine I had a good few bottles possibly at least 6 or 7 to my self. I enjoy drinking when hot and when you are sat chatting it goes down even faster!
A few cornets of icecream but they were very nice and small.
I am fasting three days this week, I am hoping to shift 3lbs by Friday then it will be slower….

Hoping to get Charlie to a 9 am walk, I have been going out 7.30/8am a bit early on the cold starts.

Are doing anything with Kirsty any shopping trips?
I got three blouses and a roll neck top from Texas charity shop, they have much cheaper and better than ours.. hoping I wear them.

    Sym…

You have to enjoy yourself and forget being careful when you are away. Plenty of time later to get back to your good weight.

These past couple of years I haven’t been away much so not into temptation.. Now especially as Kristy is into this faddy eating I don’t cook the big roasts etc like I used too. The wine also has made a big difference..

It s lovely to have the sun again today. I expect it will take a while for you and Charlie to get back onto your time. Xx

    Day 28 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 238 lbs. The insanity of this week caused me to get back to my weight four years ago. Forget it. I’ll be back on track tomorrow and have to get serious in October.

It was a scary event. The hurricane tracked further east last minute, so the Carolinas fared much worse than we did. We have some small and medium tree limbs down, but no trees, no visible property damage, no flooding, and even the power stayed on (just blinked a bit yesterday morning). But there were those around who had power out for a day or so, trees down across roadways, and some localized flooded roadways and parking lots.

    Day 28-No. VA USA-NFD
We finally have a rain-free morning. Rather humid, though.
@merryapple, I admire your determination to power through and go up the hill with your tiny Scottie friend. It is quite amazing how our non-dominant hand has to learn so much when Ol’ Righty is out of commission.
@michelinme, you are so admirable! Best wishes to your daughter.
@flourbaby, roof problems are the worst! We had to have ours replaced in 2021 after years of drips and ceiling spots in the house. Our handyman could not find any issues, but once the roof was replaced, all problems ceased. Of course, it was expensive. Sooo aggravating.
I am mentally preparing for hosting. I just hope to be able to keep up with all your activities!

    Morning All…

A lovely walk this morning I layered up, although as the sun hot higher it was much warmer.
I have gone from 35 to less than 15 so a big drop.
A late walk I am on Katie’s time and Charlie on Fay time, so a lay in and hopefully got Charlie back to 9 am walks.

    Hemmy…
I am well up on weight 9 lbs above goal, I was up 4 lbs up so 5 lbs on.
I am fasting today, Monday and Thursday I must really try and get it all off, I shall continue like that at the moment … hope back down for my end of years weigh in…
Katie found Maxi on my bed the day after I left, he was waiting for me. 😘
You are really stable better than me… have a lovely time with Kirsty…

A busy day ..washing back on line to finish off drying then ironing and grass to sort out…

    Jean x
