Day 17 – USA/GA – ZBC
Weigh-in: 238 lbs. I think it’s just Chinese food bloat. Funny, it didn’t taste as great as I had hoped, though it’s been many months since I had it. Over it for a while LOL
Off for a full day of hopefully lower stress work, and yes… my bags are packed. I think I may unpack another shirt. I like to make things lighter if I can. Souvenir T-shirts can be bought and worn while on the trip 🙂
Hemmy 41 days with alcohol and day 1 of no bread. Having a milky coffee for breakfast, going bowling at 12-30 and speedway tonight. It’s always cold the first few meetings at speedway so got my thermal vest on already. I’ll look later if I got a reply from Citizens advice. Chloe was charged at by a French bulldog last night it was loose and had no collar on. I kept standing in between them but it was very fast. I got it to run off but as soon as we started walking it came running back. Chloe barked at it which is unusual as she never barks at all. That didn’t work so she went for it. Which is even more unusual as she usually backs away. She snapped at it 3 times then a woman seen what was happening and knows Chloe is afraid so she managed to hold it back while we got away. I was worried the little dog would get injured.
Day 17 UK f800
Yes that’s a great way to phrase it @funshipfreddie and I’m going to join you on an extra mindful 2nd half of Mindful March 💪
My focus has slipped slightly but I’m back on track

Good morning everyone. Xxxx
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.. Its hopefully getting warmer this week thank goodness.
I am looking forward to Kristy coming this week I feel I need some young blood around to liven me up lol.
I have been reading a lot and really into these Agatha Raison books by M C Beaton. completely different to my usual reads but loving them. Apparently there was a TV series but I like to use my imagination with the book version
2 months today no wine. Not missing it at all now.. Still feeling tired missing the sugar apparently it can last for months,.
I think a nice chunky soup would be good today .. get all the odd bits out and into the croc pot.
Dave .. I hope you have some luck re the roofers with the organisations…. were they local to you.
Re bread i have really come to the conclusion its not what we eat its the volume. I also think some foods and drink trigger you to want more almost like a drug .. That’s wine with me. lol
Sym… Did you have some nice Mum and Daughter time with your daughter yesterday..
What are you upto this week.
Nana and HH .. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Xx
Enjoy your day everyone.. It’s dog’s world and we are just living in it lolol Xxxx
Day 17☘ 🇮🇪 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71 kg 🎯
Classic FD yesterday. I was in no hurry to eat, even when 7 pm rolled around 💪 But I’m looking forward to a nice brunch later. I’m aiming to be extra-mindful for the 2nd part of Mindful March 🧘
@northgeorgia – that must be a huge relief, to have dodged those tornadoes?! I hope you’re feeling better, & all set for your trip tomorrow..
Happy St Patrick’s Day to our Irish forum friends, & to anyone else celebrating today.

Hi all
Well I was promised two calls today about two jobs and it is 4.35pm and neither have eventuated yet. It is so frustrating when people don’t call when they promise. Perhaps they will call after 5pm when their BAU day is done
It was so incredibly hot yesterday – the car said 40 degrees when Mr A picked me up from a birthday lunch. He stayed home with Maxx as we couldn’t leave him in that heat. He was happy to miss it as our friends picked a pretty ordinary restaurant and we both hate being forced to eat bad food.
I must say being unemployed has its advantages; the house has never been so clean and I have done a fair bit of very overdue decluttering
Are you back in the UK Thin? You mentioned your last day in Perth so I presume yes. I hear spring is quite lovely over there at the moment – but I guess it depends where you are
Ok time to stare at the phone again willing it to ring…….
Day 16 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Tired this morning. I remember when staying up until 4 a.m. was fun. LOL! We were extremely fortunate; no tornadoes or major damage here.

I had to join the pocket list today. While I haven’t gained any weight, I haven’t lost any today, so I am doing a further push.
Icystorm, you certainly have a job everyone today could use. I am sitting here waiting for a storm that it is coming from the south. I am in Maryland. Hopefully, I will be able to keep my electricity. Last time it was way too cold to stay in my house and that was recently. Today is warmer, so I won’t leave this time.
I hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend and that those of you who have been unwell are on the mend. 🤗
Day 16 UK NFD
Indeed I know I should be fasting but have instead invited DS 30 and his GF round to help finish off the cheese and charcuterie I brought back from 🇫🇷 so I’ll enjoy the day and get back on the f800s tomorrow 💪
Well done e determined Sunday fasters

Good morning everyone,I had a look at trading standards Hemmy. They say contact them directly or via Citizens advice. So I’ve already contacted them. They only work Monday to Friday so hopefully should hear something soon. A nice sunny day here but still nippy. Jean yes the trains are a nightmare,I said to him he should have kept up with the driving, but I think he’s afraid of driving, Denise was the same. Her brother and sister both drive but not her.I think I might try and give up bread from tomorrow for 17 days. That would be a big help for my final weigh-in at MoreLife.I days to all the ladies let’s try and all lose 4lbs for the last month.
Day 16-No. VA USA-FD 2nd post
Can we just correct the word “weightless” to “weight loss ” in the last sentence? Autocorrect is faster than I am!
Day 16-No. VA USA-FD
I am joining @funshipfreddie on a fast day, as yesterday was a bust. Two groups of friends and family came through on little notice, so I had to be a nice hostess and produce and/or eat food they brought. It was good food, though! A chicken pot pie using crust as per Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa. Etc, etc. Oh well, start again.
@stitchincarol, we are paying 9-10$ a dozen for eggs here; you have a good friend, indeed! I used to have an employee who raised chickens and would bring in eggs for us from time to time. A luxury!
Hope your cough gets better. It takes about 4 weeks after the flu for many people.
@icystorm, you have an important job! And you live in an area with volatile weather, too. Can you make the storms dodge @northgeorgia???
@merryapple, I have wandered off the “road to weightless” this month…finding my way back today!
Day 16 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
Halfway through Mindful March already?! With Easter on the horizon too – it seems like we just got through the silly season.
@icystorm – your username is finally clear! 😅 That sounds like a fascinating occupation 🌀 🌪
@northgeorgia – I hope you managed to dodge all the tornadoes I was reading about earlier?! 😧
I’m aiming for a very disciplined FD today – nothing beats Monday morning PFDS! Plenty of room on the Sunday Pocket List. Just saying 🤪
Happy S🌞nday y’all!
Pocket List – Day 16 🍳
@funshipfreddie
Quacka, I’m so pleased to read about your success. Some FDs are harder than others. Have you made it to the 75s now? Keep reporting please!
Neil, good job with the latest weigh in. I think I’ve seen the doco you mention. Staggering. One only has to walk down the extensive sticky drinks aisle in the supermarket to get a grip on what a huge industry it is.
Cinque, hot days can sap your energy. It’s not just an older people thing; I once read that it’s harder for women to regulate their temperature after menopause. We had such fabulous weather in Perth but the air-con broke in our apt after the second day and some of the nights were uncomfortably hot – we got a taste of apartment living where, of course, there’s no through-flow of air such as you get when you can open front and back doors. Our first and last days were in the high 30s which briefly took me back to long summers held hostage by the air-con. I don’t miss that.
Anzac, any luck with the latest job possibility?
Turn, can we have a tiny home update?
It’s the day after FD for me. 59.8kgs. OH selected ‘Sunday roast’ at the mooring’s waterside restaurant for his belated birthday meal celebration so I did my FD yesterday.
Evening All..
A long day today… weather a bit better not so cold here. Went to chippy for dinner, Charlie was excited he got a sausage..
Seeing Jacqui tomorrow..
Nana..
You will soon loose your couple of pounds. Hope you had a good birthday week. Your house will be feel empty after all Karen’s stuff is moved out, if will feel strange.
Hemmy..
Well done on another pound off you must feel so good. You are very steady holding goal.
Holiday all booked now and taxi.. just waiting now. I have all my clothes… so all sorted.
Dave..
Such a shame about the roof it seemed to be all under control.. hope it gets sorted out.
Your poor son and trains it’s a nightmare..
Jean x
I’ve sent a WhatsApp to citizens advice to see what they recommend. I’ll have a look at trading standards, thanks Hemmy. It’s very cold here today can’t get warm. Roast chicken tomorrow for tea so Chloe will be on red alert all day. I’m sat in front of the fire and it’s 26°C but I feel very cold.
Happy Saturday everyone. Xxxx
Its a freezing cold windy day here but its been non stop sunshine So I expect a perfect March day. A good long morning walk.
Its been very quiet in the village today .. Pip and I did go in the garden for about 30 minutes this afternoon.. I picked some lovely little miniature daffodils a bit of spring in the lounge.
I am having my favourite of the moment for dinner A jacket potato with prawns in garlic and parsley butter. I expect I will have it so much then be frd up with it lol.
Kristy here Friday till Sunday so that will be nice to catch up.
Nana H H Sym Hope you are having a good day..Xx
Dave.. Trading Standards is another good body to contact re workmanship. Trades really are frightened to get involved with them as they can close businesses down.
What a shame your son is having that hassle with the trains it seems quite frequent now with trains and buses.. Hope he got back ok.
Enjoy your evening everyone..
Make time for the little things that bring you joy. Xxxx
Day 15 – USA – CD
Greetings, everyone! Today is another CD day. I’ve planned a couple of large, healthy green salads with some baked turkey and a little C-8 oil, keeping the total below 1,000 calories.
@merryapple, @funshipfreddie, and @stitchincarol – My expertise is in meteorology, hydrometeorology, and other metocean sciences. I’m a research meteorologist specializing in wind, wave, and ocean current studies, and writing reports for clients worldwide. I also support attorneys in litigation related to property damage, injuries, and losses caused by severe storms, tropical cyclones, and other weather-related events. I own Wrisk Consulting LLC (‘Wrisk’ stands for ‘Weather Risk’). 😃
For fun, I enjoy playing chess (and chess variants), writing and recording songs (80s pop-rock genre), reading, and watching interesting movies—though I mostly work!
I’m inspired by everyone’s health and weight goals in the forum! My progress has been slower and more challenging than expected, but I’m gradually changing my bad habits, improving my relationship with food, and celebrating some non-scale victories along the way.
Wishing everyone a great day/night!
Kind regards,
Joseph
Day 15 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 154.2
Yesterday morning was tough, with lots of coughing, but I seem to have turned a corner by drinking more than any human should have to, LOL. And the scale this morning startled me, given DH and I went out to eat last night. We split an order of fish and chips (and couldn’t even IMAGINE wanting the whole plate to ourself!), so it wasn’t a ton, but still… But, after weighing myself three times over the course of a half hour, and being astonished and thrilled at the weight, the next time I weighed 155.8. WHAT?? So I immediately weighed again, and then it was 154.6. I decided to follow @funshipfreddie‘s opinion, and stuck to the 154.2, LOL. Who knows. At least it’s not 160-something, so that’s my joy this morning.
@merryapple I would absolutely consider doing remodeling to the house; DH is not at ALL interested in that. I can persuade him, but it won’t be easy, LOL. As to the price of eggs, I haven’t remembered to look (we’ve been given these eggs from our friend for six or more years now) but I heard something about $5 or $6 a dozen for standard, non-lovely eggs.
@iona72 I hope you’re feeling better today?
@penz What an impressive memory you have. Yeah, taxes are due April 15, but I filed an extension last year, so was actually doing them in September. Now I’m back to the standard time… Did you have your P&RW last night, or stick to a G&T? For the record, I decided to order a non-alcoholic Blackberry Margarita last night at dinner, and it was totally delightful!
@funshipfreddie Serious bummer on a speeding ticket!
@icystorm I had my fascination to what your expertise might be!
We viewed five houses yesterday, and none were perfect enough to excite us into making an offer, so the search continues. While out and about, however, it POURED. There was thunder and lightning, and a bit of hail, and it was very dark–a serious spring storm. When we got home around 7:30pm, the trash can had been blown a few feet away, and many branches were down. So thankful I haven’t heard of any serious damage anywhere.
Red snapper is on the menu for today, and more tax work. Retirement is looking better and better and better, LOL!
Day 15 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 236 lbs. I guess it’s obvious my next FD will be upon returning from my vacation. The good news, I’m actually down this week. While recovering from the flu, I’ve not felt like indulging in a lot of food, and particularly not junk. The bad news, I’m up 10 lbs from this time last year, which shows how I have to get back onto the train in April and May (before my family road trip at the end of the month).
Horrible storms will rip through my area late tonight/early Sunday morning. Weather forecasts say the chances for tornadoes are 25 – 50x higher than normal. I’m hoping it weakens before then and we escape relatively safe. It could ruin one’s vacation plans for sure!
Good morning everyone still cold but dry. No sign of roofers think I may need to contact citizens advice for help. My son is coming home from the midlands and his train as been cancelled so he had to get a later train and stand up all the way home because his seat was booked on the train that was cancelled.
Day 15 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
@merryapple – ‘I’m not on the road to weightloss’ – but you’re sticking to your FDs, right? So, you can’t go far wrong, or stray too far from your ultimate goal. We all splurge, or feel like having a few forbidden treats now & then. But I know that if I adhere to my two weekly FDs, no matter what, then the rest of the week will take care of itself. A Ferrari?! 😅 No such luck. I doubt I’d be able to even afford the insurance. No, just my little Kia. Although, I’m not a wannabee Lewis Hamilton. I don’t speed habitually; I never speed on the highway; in fact I wish they’d lower our 120 km/h limit to 100, as it is in some countries.
@jaifaim – enjoy your holiday! ☘
@icystorm – an expert witness in a trial? I’m intrigued too! 🤔
@excelsior12309 – no, no points on my licence, fortunately! We don’t even have a system like that yet. They’ve been talking about it for years. In theory, a points system is being introduced later this year, but I’ll believe it when it happens. But I think to have points against you, in addition to a fine it would have to be a serious breach though, of e.g. +20 km over the limit. And I’m not that reckless, I hope! 😧
Have a good weekend everyone 🌤 🌈
Day 15 NZ NFD ???
Left the house at 0730 hrs after a big night for a haircut…
Did my washing and made an Apple Charlotte for dessert tonight. I also went to a gallery opening. I am not on the road to weight loss even though I’m not over eating…
I’ll be joining @brightonbelle on Monday to get rid of post holiday excesses 😉
@jaifaim Are you breaking out your bike?! I’m imagining Spring has sprung!!
@excelsior12309 You’re so close and yet so far! I know the feeling… Your chicken soup sounds just the ticket!!
@ccco one free range egg is 50c USD here.
@icystorm Intriguing!! What is your expertise in (apart from Instant Pots!!) ??
@northgeorgia Fingers crossed you’ll be over the worst by Tuesday.
@penz Happy to help🤣I would be Pizza and Beer P&B or🍕🍺 However Oz has such good 🍷 it’s a difficult choice!!!
@funshipfreddie A speeding ticket???!! I hope in a Ferrari or such like…
@lilymartin I hope Autumn will bring some drought relief for you. I took to watering my ferns because we’re pretty dry, not something I like doing particularly…
Have a great Saturday night and Sunday…
Day 14 – Ireland – NFD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽♀️ 🌾
156.2 ⬇️
Hi just checking in… have a great weekend everyone. It’s a long one here for us ☘️ and I’m off work anyway for a few weeks so have been enjoying some nice bright days, beach walks and catch ups with friends and family 💕. Long may it continue. Some short trips planned next week and will be checking in to keep the focus!
I hope everyone is well 👍
Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕
Day 14 UK NFD
Back from mini travels , exhausted , aiming to reset big time – from Monday as I have a day of Rugby tomorrow- I’ll catch up on the last few days posts and be raring to go 💪
Day 14 – USA – CD
Today is a controlled-diet (CD) day for me. I’m off to my local Salad Station shortly for a large, robust, green salad with some turkey…but avoiding the breads, croutons, cheese crisps, dressings, etc.
I’m traveling next week to appear as an expert witness in a trial, but there is some uncertainty about the day I’ll be called to testify. Consequently, I’m not sure what my fasting schedule may look like next week, but I am thankful to have low calorie salad options to keep my calories low, and probably near FD800 criteria throughout.
@excelsior12309 – Your chicken soup from your Instant Pot sounds delicious! I love soups! I hope you enjoyed yours. I have a ton of Pyrex glass containers to freeze things like that. It’s easy to prepare free-range, organic chicken and turkey from Whole Foods and freeze both in small quantities. I sometimes thaw a container in the refrigerator overnight to enjoy in a salad the next day. Delicious!
I hope everyone has a great day/night!
Kind regards,
Joseph
2nd Post – Day 14 🍍
Pocket List – Day 14
@ccco
@excelsior12309
Hemmy can’t decide what to have for tea. Think it will be steak bakes poached eggs and mushy peas. Maybe a few frozen chips. The roofers were supposed to come today but no sign of them😠. My son’s gone to the midlands to watch wrestling then come back tomorrow to watch it again. He goes all over to watch it. Just cleaned the cupboard out and found a tin of stewed steak so warmed it up added kibble and have it to Chloe. She had a sniff and left it but I’m sure she will have it all before bedtime. She’s just kicked everything off Denise’s sofa and jumped up. Normally suits next to me, must fancy a change.
USA. Day 14. FD
Excelsior12309, I wondered about the price of chicken, too! I eat a lot of it and it doesn’t seem to go up in price the way the eggs are!
Anyway, I broke down and weighed myself today. I gained 2 lbs. but I know why. I slipped twice but that works has a huge encouragement to get right back on the wagon, which I did immediately. I am having too much success to mess it up now!
Pocket List Day 14
I hope all are having a great day!
Good afternoon everyone. Xxxx
Some sunshine today but still very cold after the high temps of last weekend. .
Ended the week with a good weigh in.. I have lost 1lb so lighter than before Xmas weight.
I am back to enjoying Crispbreads instead of bread .. I am loving the Ryvita green pack very grainy nutty topped. I think it does make a difference rather than eating bread.
Nana .. Its sounds like its been a busy birthday week ..you will soon lose the 2 lbs.It will be lovely for your daughter to get all her things back to her new home… nice to have your things around you.
Day 53 no alc
Dave.. What’s for tea at yours today. Hope Chloe approves it
H H Interesting meeting for you .. You sound like you are a peoples person and relate to people and their problems. .
Do you make your sausage rolls with shortcrust pastry… or puff.
Sym.. Well done on your 3lbs off this week that’s brilliant. You will be getting all your clothes sorted for your June holiday.. it will soon come around.
Enjoy your day all… “You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.” Xxxx
Day 14 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Thankfully, just a half day at work today. Still feel lethargic and slightly nauseous.
Day 14-No. VA USA-FD
Well, March has been a gaining month, not a losing month for me so far. Reason: the usual ones, sneaked candy, too frequent breads, and occasional wine at dinner time. So back on the wagon, again!!!
@ccco, I also spent $10 for a dozen eggs the other day. Regular large white egg from chickens who no doubt live in a factory farm; not free range nor organic. Those were more. Last month, the same were $8.75 per dozen. Interestingly, the price of chicken does not seem to be increasing as dramatically.
I agree that eggs are not our biggest problem at the moment here.
@icystorm, your suggestion regarding the pressure cooker caused me to make chicken soup yesterday. So easy in the instant pot! Now I have a lot of really good broth and chicken for whatever we need, and can freeze some too.
@funshipfreddie, will you get “points” on your driver’s license for speeding? Here, if you get too many points, you have to go to driving school as punishment! (you sit in a classroom and learn proper technique). Then the points are removed.
Well, I will NOT be joining delicious pizza Friday today. I cannot be trusted!
Have a good weekend, all!
Morning everyone, a busy birthday week plus a meal out with my old workmates last night meant a gain of two pounds on the scales this morning.
Jean well done on your loss and a nice holiday to look forward to.
Dave I never have breakfast as it makes me hungry also. A shame Denise has to wait so long for her Dr’s appointment. Hopefully decorating is almost finished.
Hedgehogs you’re being busy as usual, I never drink after 8pm unless I’m out enjoying a wine 😉
Hemmy have been enjoying a few rides out on Geraldine, however, we got soaked on the ride home from our usual Wednesday lunch and it was such a bitterly cold wind also.
Daughter is travelling down today to pack up the rest of her stuff and then my army grandson has hired a van and will drive her back tomorrow calling in at her old home on the way to collect her other stuff left there.
A busy weekend ahead for me, hope everyone else has a good one.
Nana xxx
Hi. I’m back yet again. Still fat and getting less fit by the day. I’m no longer taking Tamoxifen as I just couldn’t stand it any more. The cancer has come back once again but they’ve used radiotherapy to deal with it this time. No chemo thank goodness. I’m now heavier than I’ve ever been and I just don’t know how to shift it. This is probably just an excuse, but I feel too heavy to exercise – just climbing a flight of stairs gets me out of breath. I feel embarrassed by the way I look and I often leave events early because I don’t want people to see me.
I still have the the same problem, which is, I lose a couple of kilos, and then nothing for a couple of weeks by which time my self-discipline is at rock bottom and I give up. My weight is very gradually creeping up and I’m now grade 1 obese. What can I do? Can anybody help me? I wish I could get an injection of will-power.
Day 14 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71.2 kg 🎯
Friday morning PFDS! My Thursday FD was a bit of a struggle, food was on my mind quite a bit. Probably due to being indoors all day. Another gloomy autumn day here, but no rain at least. So I’m aiming to get plenty of walking done today.
I can’t believe I just got another speeding ticket?! 😯 From the date of the ‘infringement’, it looks like it was when I went to pick up a friend from the airport last month. The airport is only 7 km from here, but I was running a bit late. Whatever.. 🙄
@penz – well done for the B2B FDs! 💪 PRWD…. noooo?! That acronym doesn’t get my seal of approval 🤣 Enjoy the G&T 🍸
@ccco – US$10 for a dozen eggs?! Madness. Maybe you can scrounge some from @stitchincarol? 😅
Gotta dash, happy Fri-yay everyone! 🍕🍹
Morning All..
Meeting Natalie this morning.. just picked up the text.
A surprise at weigh in.. 3 lbs off…???
Coffee and crocheting ???
My holiday is booked with Katie and family in Tenerife.. chasing my taxi driver now, he’s not quick on returning calls.
Dave..
Well done on getting the stairs done. Hoping the fasting goes well..
Hemmy..
Looks like my coffee’s are working, just had a cup of tea it doesn’t taste as nice as usual.
I had tuna and mayo on crackers last night, it was a change, a full tin is only 100 calorie’s .
Still very bitter here I have got soaked twice with heavy showers. I got my over trousers out again.
Hedgehog..
I can’t believe you drink water till that time, I would be up all night. Jacqui has a bedtime cup of tea.. I would never think of it.. maybe 2” of cold milk.
Glad the course was interesting not in a cold hall !!
We have to both hope no dementia for us!
Have a good day everyone..
Jean x
USA. Day. FD
Merryapple, I just had to answer your egg question! LOL. Last week I paid US$ 10 for 12 eggs. It could be more this week! That probably soon will be the least of our problems here.
Day 14, P&RWD, Aus
My new acronym – pizza and red wine day!! (Thanks @merryapple!)
I did another OMAD yesterday which I reckon worked out to about two 500 cal days in a row. Fortunately, my OH is back on his keto diet, which I don’t follow, but realise how much of our social drinking is habituated companionship. He’s not drinking so I’m not either!
Huh. That might throw our regular P&RWD out. Might just treat myself to a G&T and be done with it…
Unfort, I’m off on an conference next week (for an organisation I volunteer with). I have no idea whether it will be a restrained affair, or not. Either way, I will try and behave!
Tax time already @stitchincarol!? It seems much less than a year you were last battling the paperwork.
Yucky weather here. Really humid (well, not tropics humid, but for a place that usually experiences dry heat, I am really feeling it). Even the dogs had had enough after about 20 minutes walking!
Day 13 NE England NFD
I’m feeling a little under the weather today, nothing specific, just weary. Scale was up a pound, that was a nasty surprise. Weather has been cold with heavy showers so I’m glad to go to bed.
See you all tomorrow.
Day 13 – USA – NFD – 2nd Post
@merryapple – Your combi steam oven sounds interesting! I looked it up and watched a brief video that described it. Very cool! Regarding the spreadsheet, I intend to participate in that soon, time permitting. I hope your journey is going well! 😀
Kind regards,
Joseph
Day 14 NZ NFD 70.4kg 🏃🏼♀️
I intend to be a Weekend Warrior… My weekend consists of Friday and Saturday night dinner parties plus an exhibition opening for an Oz friend and a haircut… Only one of those things will help with reducing weight 🤣
@icystorm I have a combi steam oven instead of a microwave which I use a lots. It cooks by hot steam and/or heat but not pressure.
Do you know about the monthly sheet we set up as an extra means of support?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17-IBPQOxK5UBUK-Vx7pqINE0bJqNaUSTrky_EqH0vNU/edit
@ccco I’m impressed you can remember your street address!!
@stitchincarol Glad to hear you’re improving and your weight is staying down. But NO sugar or snacks??!!! You’re a martyr to the cause!!!
Would you ever consider doing alterations to your new house so it works for you if the location is just right??
Just out of curiosity, how much are eggs in the US. I’m about to go buy some and will report back!!
Have a great Pizza Friday!!
Cheers!!

I wanted to let Jaifaim now that when I lived in Paris, I lived in the 15th Rondissement but that was many many years ago!
Anyway, I hope everyone has had a nice day today!
Evening!
Jean- sounds good to be having a holiday with Katie & family…yes, the dementia is scary, Mum has always done sudoku puzzles, she was convinced that would keep her brain okay, obviously didn’t work!
Dave- what a worry with Denise, hard for you when she won’t talk… don’t understand the wait with her GP, they could be prescribing her medication for thyroid already! I would be on the phone hassling them if it was me!
Hemmy- good you don’t get hungry & can have a late lunch…I drink water all through the evening, I’m lucky I’m not up in the night!
The course was really interesting, mental health in pregnancy & post birth, the team are doing really good work with families, they don’t even have a waiting list, see people straight away, but she said some of them work weekends as well to keep it that way! It was freezing in the hall, & not eating didn’t help, but I did okay, went for a lunchtime walk as well. Made sausage rolls for hubby when I got home, egg salad for me tonight. Shouldn’t really laugh but Mum went with a friend to a hospital appointment, to the memory clinic, a shame they didn’t test Mum too!
There is also the difficulty that different people can get very different Zoe scores when eating exactly the same thing, all depending on their blood sugar and blood fat control. For me it turned out that both are complete rubbish, but my wife is better on the fat control – so often her scores will be 10-20 points higher (out of 100) than I get. That can be a bit frustrating, although sadly these things naturally get a bit worse with age apparently, and I’m now in my 60s.
Good Afternoon everyone. Xxxx
Ohh its a bitterly cold day the wind is very sharp. Good for woollens drying on the line they will be lovely and soft.
Just had a late lunch again.. I cant seem to make it earlier. Crispbreads cheese and red onion chutney. grapes.. Trouble is now I wont want any dinner as such. Perhaps wait till about 7pm and have some egg and bacon.
I must adjust my timings..lol Like my friend is always saying. ” The time runs away with me” lol
Nana … Hoping you had a lovely time away for B Day celebrations.
Dave.. Did you enjoy the milk coffee .. I have a big breakfast cup full its good for you and I find with a bit of suger or honey its very filling.
its awful the long waits to see anyone in the medical field. Its not right Denise should not have to keep waiting. They should sort things out bless her
H H I have been taking Magnesium tabs.. trying the iron now.. Trouble is i am erratic a very all or nothing person with doing things ..as Mum used to say
“Carol goes over the top” lol
How did your Home start course go today.. Did you manage to do an FD.
Sym.. My friend said she finishes her drinks at 5pm.. couldnt believe I was still drinking water at 10.30 lol … I must admit it does sound silly lolol but I had never thought about it. lol
I would imagine its easier for you to meet up with daughters family this side of the world..as you travel alone. June to look forward too.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone.. “Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come.” Xxxx
Day 13 – USA – NFD
Greetings, everyone! Today is an NFD for me. I’m having a large, robust salad later. I avoid the heavy dressings (or any dressings!) on my salads. I almost always opt for a little C-8 oil or extra virgin, cold-pressed olive oil from Whole Foods. I try to make my salads 75-80% leafy greens with tons of other veggies, herbs, and spices, plus some protein in the form of baked turkey or baked chicken.
@merryapple – You wrote: “I had never seen a digital pressure cooker before!!” I really like my Instant Pot Pro, 6-quart. It’s great for a lot of easy, healthy meals.
I wish everyone a happy day or night, fasting or otherwise, in your corner of the world! 😀
Kind regards,
Joseph
Day 13 – Rural Nebraska, USA – FD500 – 154.8
I’m still managing to eat almost only meals, with no snacking. Yesterday was slightly less successful, but it certainly wasn’t bad. Rather on impulse, I decided last Friday morning–two days after Lent started, you realize, LOL–to give up sugar for Lent. If the point is something difficult, I sure succeeded with my choice, because my sweet tooth has been HOWLING. I’m sure that’s going to be a healthy decision, however.
@merryapple Thanks for the tip on deep breathing. I couldn’t have done that several days ago, as it would have sent me into a paroxysm of coughing…a pat on the back from a friend did the same thing, LOL. But I did it this morning, and will continue to do so, both in hopes it helps, and also in appreciation of how good deep breathing feels. I’ve been taking a small spoonfull of honey at night to help soothe the coughing; my doctor said, when she was in medical school, they were told honey is as effective as any OTC cough medicine; my doctor several decades ago said the same as you about grog.
And, how fun about the things you were teaching the volunteers; I’m sure they had a grand time learning from you!
@funshipfreddie I’m glad you’re feeling so much better. Your omelette yesterday sounds absolutely lovely! We were given a fresh supply of farm fresh eggs yesterday, so may have an omelette in our near future…
@northgeorgia How lovely that you’ve improved enough to head to work!
Wow, quiet this morning. My cleaning lady comes today, a move from Wednesdays, and house is pretty much ready for her. I have a pile of clothes to hang up and put away, and need to get my car out of the garage so I can head in to Omaha later–in other words, nothing onerous. We found three houses to look at, and then found a real possibility, so we’ll be headed down to Lincoln again tomorrow. I started working, in a TRULY desultory fashion, on our taxes yesterday…ugh. The job I hate most of all the things I do, LOL. Oh well, needs must, right?
Have a grand one, everyone, and I hope all the rest of you are content in the things that are keeping you away from chatting!
Day 13 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 237 lbs. Woke up with the alarm this morning and going to head to work, although still feeling a little tired. I leave for my trip next Tuesday night! 🙂
Day 13 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
Ooh, so quiet here?! 👀 And it’s lunchtime already; or at least it would be, if it wasn’t a FD 😏 I really need a good FD today. I ate the biggest omelette I’ve ever seen yesterday, filled with spinach, mushrooms & feta cheese 😋 We took one of our line-dancers out for ‘Xmas lunch’ after the class yesterday. She’d been visiting her daughter in Australia in December when we had our get-together. That was our excuse anyway 😅
@merryapple – that will NEVER happen! 🤠 Unless I get the part in a movie, anyway 😜
@stitchincarol – tons better, thanks! I hope you are too. The tickly cough was the worst part, but that seems to be gone too now.
The weather’s not so great today, so I may need to get walking on the spot, or do some cleaning later.
Sending RESOLVE to the Thursday fasters! 🎯 💪
