  • I recently read a blog on how dark chocolate helps in weight loss. ( http://livehealthy.chron.com/effects-dark-chocolate-reducing-weight-5330.html ) I am trying to lose some weight and I was wondering if this actually works. I have already bought dark chocolates from Giddy yo yo ( http://shop.giddyyoyo.com/all/?sort=newest ). What I want to know is, How often should I have the chocolate and for how long? Will it have any other health issues? Please share your experience.

I don’t believe any one food, especially chocolate, can cause the human body to lose weight. Besides the added sugar and the dopamine high that comes from chocolate consumption, there’s the calories that come with. Chocolate calories aren’t different than any other calorie in that they aren’t ignored by our bodies. As a recovering chocoholic, I find a better strategy to be just avoiding chocolate, and the sugar altogether. I hope this helps with some context.

The only thing that causes weight loss is calorie restriction.
Dark chocolate is usually purer than others as it usually contains less additives and sugar but it is not a weight loss aid.

I heard that French fries and bourbon aid weight loss. I’m consuming as much as I can but my girth is mysteriously increasing. Help! I’m baffled!

Well I have also heard that lemon juice can restrict the appetite and aid weight loss so I am knocking back half a bottle of Limoncello every night; I am also a little perplexed by what the scales are telling me…

    But seriously…

I have dark chocolate in the house because I would otherwise be eating milk chocolate which I understand is a lot less healthy. I eat just enough to stop the cravings and to stop me breaking into the local sweet shop.

But in my view the only thing that can aid weight loss is fasting at least two days per week.
