  • On page 148 of the Fast Diet Recipe Book is “Sarah Raven’s Pan-Fried Lambs’ Kidneys with Lentils”. The recipe gives 1 head celery. Does it really mean a whole head of celery or just a stick? A head sounds like an awful lot to me. It would be so much more helpful if recipes gave an approximate weight of such ingredients.

Another question about this recipe is why use 14 kidneys in a recipe for 6 people? When I went to school, 14 was not divisible by 6!!

Anyway, I do like lambs kidneys and I want to try the recipe, so any comments would be most helpful.

In my opinion quantock, it would be a whole bunch (head) of celery if the recipe serves six people. Celery is a great “diet ” food with minimal calories and lots of fibre. Can’t explain the 14 kidneys though! Maybe once they are chopped up it doesn’t matter!
