  • Hi FTers
You have been busy. A good FD today. I made shashouka, which seems to have a myriad of spellings and origins – all south of the Med Sea.

You take red peppers and cook them in olive oil with onions, olives, chickpeas if you like and add tomatoes to make a bit of liquid. Put some pimento, pepper and cook. Then about 5 – 10 minutes before serving you make holes in the mixture and put in eggs and poach them in the mixture. Low cal and very nice.

So many successes in downsizing clothing. I am sewing at present for my daughter, but I want to be sure clothes are the right size for me before sewing for myself.

I think, JoJo, it makes sense to eat more on down days and less on up days (which the ADF leads to anyway) Do you have any idea if you reap all the benefits of cell regeneration as described by James Johnson, if you go above the 400 cals he talk about on down days? A big question for me. Please Fast Trackers if you have an answer to this question, let me know.

Your York meeting sounds good, but I won’t make it, as we leave for the Antipodes in 3 weeks.

    Happy Fasting. KiwiWiwi

    ‘Evening all

It has been a much better day here in Wales today, the sun was shining the wind had dropped, and I wished I hadn’t put on the thermal vest! We did a beach walk of just over 5 miles, and it is a successful (so far) fast day, so I am feeling very virtuous. I even resisted one of the double choc chip cookies which I bought, as the 91 year old father of a good friend of mine was calling in for a cup of tea. Salmon with chilli sauce and stirfry veg tonight, and hopefully enough calories left for some Cadburys Highlights before bed

York sounds like a great meeting place. OH and I had a weekend there two years ago. It was our first visit and we thought it was lovely. I am happy to go whenever.

Hermaj – what wonderful news about your OH. I don’t really know anything about martial arts, except that I was an avid watcher of Kung-fu in the early seventies (!) but it must take a lot of concentration and control. As for Lizzie’s achievement – that is just fantastic.

By the way Hermaj, when I mentioned the cafe to possibly meet for a coffee or lunch this weekend, I meant in Gloucestershire, not here in Wales, as we are going home on Thursday. If you do fancy it, and have the time, it’s probably only about a 15 minute or so drive from Cinderford. It’s called the Severn & Wye Smokery and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit but never got around to. Google it and see what you think.

Jojo – hope your mouth is much better soon. It sounds very uncomfortable. Well done on the weight loss. It’s lovely looking at old photos. Over the past 10 years I have lost a brother, my father and my husband, and I love coming across photos of the happy times we all had. I love the sound of the cheese scones!

Weemam, I do hope you’ve enjoyed your day despite poor husband not being 100 per cent – and fantastic that you reached, and exceeded your second stone goal. You’ve every right to feel on top of the world and bet you look great in those trousers!

Hi everyone else, Aussie, Nicky, PVE, Samm, a Happy, a Bay, Amazon, kiwi (your recipe sounds delicious), Schouke, emel (keep going Schouke and emel) and apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone. I’d love to chat to you all but I must go and deal with that salmon stirfry and shut up my rumbling tum.

Have a good evening (or morning!).

    Smiffy x

PS Jojo – just got your post. Sounds good to me!

    Sounds good, jojo.

Are we looking at a there-and-back-in-a-day trip or a stopover? I’ll say a provisional yes, depending on how many people can make it and/or whether the majority would prefer a spring trip.

Suddenly had a thought. If the first meeting worked, we could possibly think about arranging another one in spring/early summer.

    Hi Emel
I know the early morning wakefulness. It happened to me last night at 4am.
Good luck with both the work performance review and the insulin test. I did my insulin test last week and it could be better.
I shall do it again in April when I hope i have reached my target weight.
Good Night or as they say here Bonne Nuit.
    KiwiWiwi

    Hi Smiffy,

Looks like our idle musing about a mass meeting ‘has legs’. πŸ™‚ Quite a few people are interested. BTW do you know if Cheeseplease is on hols in a signal-free zone? I’m pretty sure she would want to join the party.

Re coffee this weekend. It’s very sweet of you but I’d best say no. We don’t know what my cousin and his partner might be planning and it’s going to be a short weekend, Saturday evening to Monday late afternoon.

However, there’s nothing to stop the pair of us getting together closer to home some time soon.

OH says thank you for your congratulations. All he needs now are some more students.

Our fast-day fish parcel – olives, capers, thyme, sun-dried tomato paste and few wee spuds – awaits. Got it of the Beeb Good Food website. It’s around 250 cals.

Wee how AWESOME, congratulations, 2st 1 lb down YAY, you must be over the moon to have achieved it, and size 14 now that’s a great feeling isn’t it πŸ˜€ …

Amazon, Jojo, Hermaj, Smiffy, PVE, LPB, Kiwiwiwi, emel, schouke, Bay, SAMM, RT hello to you all and I hope you’re all enjoying your day/night. If I’ve missed anyone please accept my apologies as it’s not intentional πŸ˜€

Today is a non-FD (I prefer saying this to a feed day as it makes me think I can eat anything and everything, so for my own self talk I call it non-FD) but I had a successful one yesterday so all is good in my world. Some of those recipes/meals sound lovely πŸ™‚

It’s great that some of you are getting together or planning to in the near future, I hope that the plans progress and that you all have a WOW of a time πŸ˜€

Still cold and a bit overcast at the moment but it IS only 6:15am so mustn’t be too hasty as it’s meant to get to 18 today (sun is just rising nicely now). I’ll try to catch up more later but no promises as everything is rushing by.

    Ciao .. AO xxx

I’m thinking a march on Westminster demanding a knighthood for Dr M could be a good get together. I’m sure I could pop over for that…only a 23 hour flight! Cheers all P πŸ˜‰

No problem Hermaj. I fully understand. It looks as if we may well be meeting up at the end of November anyway! Now that I’ve got the Smokery in my mind, I might well drag OH there. Love the sound of your meal, I will look up the recipe. Meant to say – I did laugh at the French mistranslation !

    Hi Smiffy,

Just to save you the trouble: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2383/mediterranean-fish-parcels-

I used sea bass because that’s what I had in the freezer. One possible hiccup can be that the spuds aren’t quite tender enough, so rather then boil them I stuck them in the microwave. I didn’t have new baby spuds, so I sliced some slightly bigger ones.

Yes, it was a lovely little mistranslation. My friend’s command of French has increased dramatically since then. A few years back she and a co-translator won a Silver Dagger Award for best crime novel in translation. It was a blend of complex EU regulations and soft porn. Now that needs talent and quite a bit of insalubrious general knowledge. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the link Hermaj, it sounds gorgeous and I will certainly have so go. All the flavours I love.

Your friend sounds a very interesting lady……..!

Hi Jojo and all, I’m on a high this morning as my motto “Eat Less, Move More” is working. When I got the ‘urge to eat’ over the last few days I got up and ‘moved more’ till the ‘urge to eat’ passed. So now looking forward to ‘moving more and eating less for the next few days. It has been my experience that when a decision to do something is taken the resolve is always tested. Many times when I have decided to lose weight, the test has come, and I have succumbed. Result loss of face integrity and resolve, then of course there is weight increase. However, since starting with 5:2 program and being tested my resolve has remained strong. Even though I have been out for lunch and dinner a number of times my motto has been in the forefront of my mind. Besides my Jojo forum buddies only one sister knows. I am looking forward to the day when someone says “Hey, you’re looking great, what have you been doing?” My answer – “Eating less, moving more.” – Smiles and hugs to you all. Hopeful Kath

    Hi Hopeful Kath,

I meant to say hello and welcome yesterday. This time, you have every reason to be hopeful, especially as you seem to have grasped the principles of 5:2 already.

You can also expect plenty of support. And when things don’t quite go to plan, like the weight loss is slower than you would like, or you get stuck on the dreaded plateau where the scales refuse to shift for weeks on end, it’s not just you. You can bet that someone, probably several someones, have been there and done that and can give an idea how they coped.

And if you fall off the wagon from time to time, don’t beat yourself up. It happens to all of us. Anyone who claims it’s never happened to him or her, is simply telling great big porkies (Cockney rhyming slang, porky pies = lies) πŸ™‚

Also there are no rules, except the ones you make to suit yourself. Through trial and error you’ll find what works best for you.

You mention the 2000 cals on a non-fast day. I genuinely think if an updated edition of the FD is published, that bit should be amended and that number reduced. Sure, to some people 2000 does no harm but us lesser mortals find it a bit over the top, as you have done.

Anyway, nice to meet you. Here’s to success – and some fun.

    Hi Purple,

What a great idea, especially if we were all allowed into Buck House to see HerMaj gently tapping the Great Man on each shoulder with the ceremonial sword. Then she might invite us all for a cup of tea and a bun. Of course, naughty lefty republicans like you and me would have to behave ourselves. I’m sure we would on such a great occasion. πŸ™‚

    Hi Hermaj
I guess I could put on my hat and gloves and admire the sumptuous surrounds plundered for generations. As long as I could wear my Australian Republican badge and not stand for God Save the Queen, I might be trusted not to say anything TOO outrageous πŸ˜‰ P

    Great motto, Kath
We all seem to need some little line as an aide memoire. I say “better in the bin than on the hips” when I don’t finish the serving.

Hermaj is right. 2000 TDEE is a very generous (OTT?) amount for many people. I figure while losing the weight on the way to goal, give yourself a fighting chance by making your TDEE on the lower, but still easily sustainable, side.
    All the best PVE

    Emil1962
I do that too , on fast days. Going to bed early. To avoid being hungry and spiking my fasting efforts.

My suggestion is to find an easy to fix food like oatmeal. As goto. Healthy food. Just a small cup in the wee hours helps me to sleep the rest without guilt. Just a two – 3 hundred calories that will help to hit the spot without triggering a cereal binge. Binging was was problem- uncounted calories and stuffing myself until couldn’t eat not a bit more. Once I started fasting , I started counting calories. At nowadays I have good idea of need instead of binging.

Looked in the mirror today , used some affirmations . Sharing that I now see my own weight loss. I can keep doing this. I will smile and take compliments politely now because they are believably true.
I am learning. I am changing. I can keep on keepin on.

As I Began to Love Myself – Self Love Poem by Charlie Chaplin

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is β€œAUTHENTICITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it β€œRESPECT”.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
    Today I call it β€œMATURITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens
at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
    Today I call it β€œSELF-CONFIDENCE”.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do
and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in
my own rhythm. Today I call it β€œSIMPLICITY”.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is β€œLOVE OF ONESELF”.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is β€œMODESTY”.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it β€œFULFILLMENT”.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this
    connection β€œWISDOM OF THE HEART”.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born.Today I know THAT IS β€œLIFE”!

    Hi Emil and Samm
My goto when I am wide awake during the night. .fairly rare these days…is a couple of tiny veg patties (21 cal each). It seems to just settle my tummy. Also a teaspoonful of plain Greek yoghurt works. Good sleeping. P

    Good morning fast-trackers.

Wow, what a wild day and night in Sydney – hope everything survived Purple.

Much better at dinner last night so came in at about 350C for the day. Have to go to a meeting today with lunch supplied so am planning to borrow Lizzy’s tomatoes on bread idea for an early lunch and stick with coffee at the meeting. May have some strawberries but will give muffins a miss!

Still cold and cloudy here, only 3C this morning. Wore my jacket to Corporate Cup walk. Managed to jog 100 steps several times so very pleased with myself. I know, completely baseless boasting but it’s an improvement for me. πŸ˜‰

Keep up the good work all. The UK planned meeting sounds good. On a plane for 23 hours is a bit much this time around so will have to read about it.

Come on Nicky. We could sit together on the plane with Bay and AO and not eat the plane food. We’d be all ready to overdo it at the ‘do’.
I rather fancy York Christmas markets as OH wouldn’t even slow down for photos when we toured through York πŸ™
A friend just sent a photo of her place in the mountains blanketed in snow. Beautiful. And for those in the UK/US this is incredibly rare, especially in October! Flooding in Sydney but my place seems ok. High winds but no trees or branches down. P

Good work on the weight loss Wee. How cold is it at present? Have you tried haloumi yet?

Ah Smiffy. Every girl needs a LBD. My dil returned my favourite, which fits me again now. ..can’t wait for real summer!

Cheers and happy fast tracking to all. P

    Great suggestion
    PVE it’s much appreciated.

I’m looking into the sleep fat loss area. Not giving up fasting though.
Just think I may be able to tweak 5 more pounds a year by raising my sleep metabolism.

Not suggesting this link to anyone, but it’s language and context of the sleep metabolism is a short read.

    Sorry RT
I’m sure we can find room for you on the plane to York πŸ˜‰
    Have a happy Wednesday. P

Purple Vegie Eater you are a treasure thank-you so much you guys are awesome πŸ™‚ now where did I put my glasses so I can find where I put the mastercard 😳 to book my flight…

    Peace
    RT

Hi Wee, Fantastically well done. OTT congratulations! What an achievement. πŸ˜† cheers, Bay

    Hi to all FTers,

Hosted relatives today to celebrate a birth and a birthday. Made a quiche we could eat a piece on a fast day, asparagus, onions, feta, eggs, leek, Parmesan. Followed by GF orange chia seed cake with icing. Yummy but Not for FD.

    Good weather is coming back.
    Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

Sounds a yum lunch Bay! Was it your birthday? πŸ˜‰
We had Korean. ..all sorts of nameless pickled veg. The grandkids thought it great fun! πŸ™‚ P

Not yet, Purple. It’s at the end of the month. Friends. Was fun. Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

    Morning all.

The scales have decided not to move this morning πŸ™
I’m going to the Science Museum today, so I’m forgoing breakfast in the hope of a nice healthy slice of cake for lunch πŸ˜†

Have a good day evening everyone.

Enjoy the Museum and the cake Amazon πŸ˜‰ P

Look forward to being on the plane to York … lots of sightseeing to do there LOL … in all honesty I’ve never been there and it is on my list of places to visit next time I’m back in the UK. Agree we would not eat the food, well not all of it, we’d need a teensy weensy bit though as it IS a longish flight.

Maybe we all need to meet somewhere in the “middle” eg Fiji or one of the groups of islands about halfway between UK and US and Aus/NZ. Would be great one day to do this, but will have to wait until we’ve all lost the weight πŸ™‚

Enjoy your day Amazon and eat just a little cake πŸ˜€

Well non-FD for me and yet I’ll still be under 1,200 even with a little bit of yoghurt (which I intend to have later). Lunch was lean home made meatballs in tinned tomato (diced/crushed) and tea/dinner is going to be home made soup (mainly veggies as it’s literal translation is green soup but they know it as vegetable soup – but it has a little bit of meat and tiny meatballs in it, getting one or two per serve – I put all the quantities and ingredients into the planner and for 1.5 serves it is 309 cals, so I do have that with a slice of wholemeal bread and butter.

    Catch up more later πŸ˜€

    Hi Amazon,

If the Science Museum’s cakes are as good as those in the V&A next door you are in for a treat. The V&A does a nice line in lemon drizzle cake. Enjoy your visit.

Gosh I am tired but I have to do something so I can go to bed later and not wake up in the middle of the night. Performance review was good so that was a relief- normal food day today and I am under 2000. I went to a Naturopath today and he recommended Probiotics, vitamin c, zinc and B’s. He acknowledged the 5:2 approach ( not totally convinced) but he suggested there were some foods I could omit. I realised that I am in fact doing this for the most part…appointment was before I decided to do this so it is confirming in many ways.
I am feeling better this week but I am still waiting for the energy people are talking about on the forum to kick in!!
mmm Heater is back on in SA but we are going to have 35C next Monday!!! Trust the Sydneysiders were not blown aaway or flooded out….
Love the Charlie Chaplin poem. Weight loss and sustainability is indeed not just about calories in and calories out. ciao

Sorry to hear you are dragging yourself around emel. πŸ™
Sydney is very cold and wet (heaters and jumpers on again) but we are still here! The snow in the mountains has kept us freezing all day. Roll on the sun again. P

    Hi Purple
How amazing. We were in t shirts this afternoon. Crazy country we live in πŸ™‚

    Hi emel
Sorry you don’t have energy. Maybe tomorrow you will feel better. πŸ™‚

I over indulged today in gluten free cake, with icing. It was yummy, but tomorrow I will pay for it. I don’t sleep as well after a day of sugar and processed carbs, even when I make it myself. πŸ˜†

I look forward to my fast day tomorrow as I always sleep like a log after fasting. Must be the no carbs and sugars on my fast day.

SAMM, I have drunk lots of green tea and had my black coffee first thing. With the desired effect. πŸ™‚

Catching up in York sounds wonderful. It is a beautiful city with lots to see. Cheers, Bay πŸ™‚

Hiya all from a sunny but cold Scotland . I like this kind of day though .

PVE I have not tried haloumi yet . I have so many (new things to try) love to try different things :).

Thank you all for the best wishes , We had a lovely day yesterday .
I got a WOW!!! from Our gorgeous DIL yesterday when I tried on the new top she had bought me.( a smaller size and she was worried it wouldn’t fit :). I don’t mean to be big headed as I have a bit to go yet BUT I felt so good .

I have now put away all the BIG trousers and I am sitting here quite smart for a change lol .

You are all so inspiring and it does make such a difference when you can talk to people who are doing the same thing and understand .

OH is very supportive but he must be getting soooo fed up with me trying clothes on :). I am NOT getting fed up though . I am having a ball :).

enjoy your day out pal and have a wee bit cake you deserve it .

I would love to meet ALL of you but with Dad ,OH and son I can’t travel too far . BUT never say never .

have a great day and be good

    Wee xx

    Good afternoon FastTrackers,
Ye Gods, I don’t have time to read back now but gist is that York is on, hurrah. I will be going up by coach, 2 day trip, booking it now, will go no matter what now, looking forward to those Christmas Markets. Ok so we all need to sign on to Facebook. Be in touch tonight, have to fly.
    Love Jojo

Scales still holding, still walking 15,000 steps per day. I will make a new aim for our meet up. Suggests we all wear something bright, red scarf? Meet at railway station? Hope fully there will be a cafe, I will check it out.

They don’t have a single room so I may need to drag up a friend or two from here to come. Get back to you?
Otherwise I may just come up on the coach and find a b&b, often prefer them anyway.

    Afternoon all.

The Science Museum was fab, but I didn’t have cake, despite the display looking gorgeous. I had a very tasty healthy flatbread sarnie, and a bar of chocolate on the way home πŸ˜†
I’ll still be 500 calories under my TDEE, so lots of pleasure and no damage done.

York sounds fab but alas I’ll be in Cuba πŸ™ Maybe next time.

There are so many overseas students in London at the moment. It is always crowded in South Kensington near the museums, but today the majority looked to be 18-20 years olds. I love to see so many people visiting my home city.
Lots of very excited 7 year olds inside the museum too!

Hi everyone, I’m up again at silly o’clock (1:30 am) for some unknown reason so I’m catching up for a little while.

Wee how fab for you and I don’t think you’re silly trying things on, after all how else do we know what fits right?

Amazon Cuba sounds wonderful so lovely that you get to see all the different areas on the world πŸ™‚

Jojo I hope you find accommodation soon πŸ˜€ either with or without dragging a friend with you πŸ™‚

Bay we are slowly getting warmer again down her in SA and today (Thurs) should at least be warmer than the last few days.

Emel I hope you have been able to sleep better tonight (I’ll go back to bed shortly just need to tire myself out a bit more)

Hi Smiffy, RT, Ply, Lizzy, Happy, SAMM, PVE, Hermaj, Kiwiwiwi, Nicky, Hopeful and oh dear names are escaping again, sorry if I’ve not mentioned you by name but consider yourselves greeted πŸ˜†

Awww Aussie I hope you get back to sleep OK .

Some nights I go to bed exhausted BUT whenever my head hits the pillow my mind start up and I think ” did I do this .. did I do that” lol .

AOYP (angels on your pillow )pal

    Wee xx

    Hi to everyone from Australia.

I’ve read this post many, many times but don’t think I’ve written anything much.

Anyway, I just wanted to say I’ve been back in England from my first visit to Australia for two weeks now and can’t stop thinking about what a wonderful time I had. When I read your comments Purple Vegie Eater about Sydney I just had to agree. We started off in Sydney on 7th Sept and the weather was beautful but I can’t get over the magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge – I think they will be etched on my brain for ever (I have photos too of course.) From there we went to Cairns and Port Douglas before finishing off in Brisbane where my brother-in-law’s brother lives (I went with my sister and her husband). I really enjoyed everywhere I went but my favourite place was Sydney.

Sorry to hijack the thread, just had to say!

Thanks Wee, yes my mind was going 100 mph which is why I woke up (plus I was thirsty) so will be going back to bed any minute now πŸ™‚

Hi Linds glad you enjoyed seeing parts of Australia. It’s sometimes hard for people who’ve never been here before to comprehend just how big and diverse our country is πŸ˜€

Well, back to bed for me … see you all later, figuratively speaking πŸ˜†

    Hi jojo
Which date have you booked for? 29th or 30th? York or Harrogate? I’ll be there as long as our baby boy hasn’t put in an early appearance. He’s due mid-December. As soon as I know the date I’ll book the coach. Someone local will want the ticket if baby comes early πŸ™‚
    Lizzypb

Hi jojo and all would-be Yorkies,

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but I’ve just spent a dispiriting hour or so looking for hotel/b%b accommodation in York for 29/30 Nov. Zilch! unless you want to pay a 3-figure sum for one night. Might it have something to do with the Christmas fair?

For me as I live in north London, it wouldn’t be difficult for me to do there and back the same day, but I imagine many of you may have a more complicated journey.

I guess we could choose another meeting place or another day.

Michael Mosley: Should people be eating more fat?

    Hi Amazon:

    Thanks for the link.

If anyone is interested in the latest research on dietary fat, there are several links in this thread: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

The latest interesting comment on the subject comes from Alice Lichtenstein, director of the Cardiovascular Nutrition Laboratory at Tufts University in Boston:

β€œCertainly no one is currently recommending low fat diets for anyone . . .”

Hello everyone, just popped in tell you all that Dr Michael Mosley is on BBC 2 at 8pm to night.
    Happy fasting or feasting JIP

    Hi All,
Yes I thought accommodation would be difficult when they didn’t want to give me a single room but I am going now, decision made. The hotel comes with the coach booking, you may want to look into that as opposed to rail. Very reasonable, my trip is Β£100 return with one night in the hotel. I am waiting confirmation. Look at Diamond Holidays.co.uk.
I am also booking a trip to Southern Ireland through ‘justgoholidays’, Cork, Kilkenny and Waterford – 4 days, 3 nights, can’t wait?

Hi Linds, welcome and good luck with your fasting. Are you joining us?

Weemam, well done on polishing off your 2 stone before your anniversary. Sounds like you are fit and well. We will come to Glasgow next Spring, why not? I adore your saying ‘angels on your pillow’ and will now adopt this.

Emel1962, I suffered chronically from lack of sleep, headaches, feeling cold, being irritable for the first three months of fasting. I nearly gave up, in fact I would have if I hadn’t been losing weight so effectively and getting tremendous support on threads. Have you tried a protein drink before bed, it worked for me and they have lovely flavours. These days I don’t need the protein because my body has adjusted so I just have a half milk coffee.

Tangatawiwi, yes I do think the cell regen works fine because I only have protein at one meal, dinner. I have porridge with water and berries for breakfast, veg soup for lunch – minimum carbs on fast and non fast days. No processed food unless out for the day and no choice. Mostly vegan but fish at restaurants if nothing else suitable. So I have a total fast from 5 pm until 10 am most days. Obviously I have water, tea and green tea during that fast time. So basically 17 hours daily fast. If I get tempted I have an orange or half milk drink but not on a fast day. Tough but doable when you have been fasting 9 months, control is my mantra these days.

Smithy, thanks for your concern, my mouth is fine now, ulcerated but healing.

    Hopeful Kath,
You are in good hands here, we have a huge amount of diet- fasting knowledge. Just focus on your weekly goal. Forget everything else. If you don’t achieve it, tweak your eating regime. Try new ideas and foods. I assume you have tried zero noodles. We are here to help you. I have lost over 50 lbs by deciding that fasting is my focus until my goal is achieved. When the going gets tough……….try a new sport! Join a walking group, there are so many options.
