  • I am starting tomorrow, and very excited after reading the book. I have borderline high blood pressure and 60 lbs to lose. I have been on every diet in the past 30 years (I am 43 this week). I lose and gain weight, and it is harder every time. I want to do this right! Thanks for the I formation.

    Hi and welcome:

Here are some tips for those just starting 5:2: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/warnings-to-newbies/

    Good Luck!

    Hi,
I’m a male in his 50s and have been on high blood pressure medication for YEARS. I set about the Fast Diet in the summer of last year on the recommendation of my doctor with a target of 50 pounds to lose. I’ve had some ups and downs (particulalry recently), but I’m now 32 pounds lighter than I was when I started and I have every expectation that I will continue to lose the next 18 pounds by THIS summer. You can follow my progress at http://52dietblog.co.uk/

I wish you good luck with your weight loss – you CAN succeed.

    All the best

    Neill

@neillmac Hi Neill…Well done on your 32 lbs down. I’ve just been reading your blog. I bet you feel great. I would also think it has made a difference to your BP.
I know that mine has ‘normalised’ now that I am 50 lbs lighter than I was at this time last year. Like you I have around 18 lbs to go to get to my target but I am taking it in 7 lb ‘stages’ so 4 lbs to my next mini target.

Ups and downs is so right but as long as the trend is down that’s the main thing.

Just keep on keeping on, you’re doing great

    xx
