  • Can’t get an appointment at the GP’s so have been told to go in at 8 am on Monday morning, also the hospital rang and asked if I would be interested in going for a one 2one talk for one hour and then 8 weeks physio in a hospital gym,I said yes so I go on the 26th of this month.Hospital said I need to have blood tests done at GP soon to see how tablets are working.

    Hi Sophia..
We have all been there lost it and back on here to make it a way of life…come and join us..

    Dave…
Take it easy till Monday and see what you can do….

    Jean x

    Hedgehog..you joined FBB on 3rd September 2017

Pseu…you joined FBB on 4th September 2017 but on your second week..

    Jean xx

    Ha! Thanks Jean.

Forgot to say since I last got weighed and baring in mind I have been to Somerset again for two nights,I have lost over half a stone.Hospital food.šŸ˜†

Dave- obviously the ‘hospital food diet’ works better for you than 5:2!! Maybe you should market that one! The physio etc. sounds like a good idea, my neighbour did that after heart valve surgery.
Jean- thanks for finding out how long we’ve been on! So we joined the same time Pseudo!
Pseudo- enjoy your walk, don’t know what the weather’s like your way…
Sophia- hi & welcome- this is a helpful group if you want someone by your side on a FD!
Didn’t get a chance to come & look here last night- my sister & niece popped in to see Xena, later than expected, then all the dinner(s!)were late, my sis got Xena really excited so she had another mad spell…
Hope everyone has a good day today!

I took Heidi out for a walk this morning then got on to my travel insurance to start the ball rolling.I have got a cold nowšŸ˜© last thing I need.Wonder if they will try and make me have a flu jab? Never had one before and don’t particularly want one.

    Afternoon All..

Just stopped for lunch and a cuppa…just got in the hallway that is after I have eaten…all going well…Steve helped me with the top of the stairs spindles we worked together at both sides…Steve complaining about the paint all the time!!!

    He has disappeared now…lol

    Dave…
Hospital food diet works for everyone….I was like Little Red Riding Hood taking my basket in full of food..it was for Steve but it was shared 4 ways..each piece wrapped in cling film to keep it fresh, it just disappeared.I was baking each night for the next day!

You are doing too much…take it easy till you have seen the doctor..you shouldnā€™t be dog walking so soon..

    Hedgehog..
You are getting the visitors, everyone passing by…gave a good day..quiet hopefully…

    Pseu..
Hope the weather stays good for you..

    Jean x

I am only taking her once for a walk,my son can take her when he gets up, always leave him in bed at weekend,he is usually up at 4am for work mon-fri.

Phew…6 hours of painting just finished for the day…just the spindles and hallway skirting boards for a second coat…itā€™s all coming together nicely…

I have been ordered to stop now, ( no more rooms) Steves finding it frustrating as he canā€™t help….looks like January for a re start…

Steves MRI at 10 am in the morning at the local hospital….we have been told a 6 week wait for results unless anything urgent is found..it gets worse the NHS…they just canā€™t cope..it goes to India to be read before returning here….

Hope everyone is having a more relaxing day than me….still I do find it relaxing painting…

Steves prepared all the dinner..I really wish the wine wasnā€™t on the table..šŸ˜¬..

    Jean x

You don’t have to drink it,my next door neighbor who passed away gave me lots of bottles of wine,I don’t mind wine but never opened any of them, gave them away in the end.

I’m just back from my walk, it was so hard! I’m exhausted. 13.6 miles, over 6 and a half hours. About half on sand, and constant steep climbs followed by steep descents. My feet are puffy and everything aches.

    Dave..
I know I donā€™t have to drink it…..long time dead…..only had one glass…Steve doesnā€™t often do dinners these days so I have participated …a way of life not a diet…..for us anyway…

    Pseu..
That sounds a long one…a good soak in the bath and relax…

    Jean x

Gone through a box of tissues already, hate having a cold.I think i will be an alcohol free zone for 5-6 months.

Dave- such healthy places these hospitals! I hope Heidi is loving you being back home. How is Denise? At least you should find out on Monday what you can & can’t do.
Pseudo & Jean- put your feet up- sounds like you’ve both had a hard day!
Jean- I don’t know if it’s possible in your area, but sometimes you can see a consultant privately, you don’t have to have all the treatment after getting a diagnosis, whether that would be possible to skip a bit of the queue? We did it for my hubby, might have mentioned it before, he had a heart problem which was really scary, but would’ve had months to wait to see a cardiologist. He saw one within 2 weeks, & was able to have the surgery after a 2 month wait, but we only paid for the one appt.
We took Xena over to a neighbours to meet their dog- she was pretty nervous but eventually started playing! We know their dog is small, but Xena still seemed tiny compared to her! Our baby has had the squits- typical lab, probably eaten something grotty in the garden!! Still doing well with the toilet training though.

    Morning All…

Up early..going off at 9.30 to the hospital…

I have decided to finish the painting when I get back..F1 is on so keep Steve happy and not under my feet..

    Hedgehog..
Thanks for that, we are thinking on those lines…we off to Louisiana for three weeks so when back we will chase something up either with our doctor and see what he says or a back/hip specialist…he has been unable to walk now for 9 months..the results will be through then for the MRI..

Poor Zena, hope she improves not a nice thing to have…yes she has possibly eaten something she shouldnā€™t..nice she has had contact with next doors dog…

Very tight on food this week…had a naughty two days…having a Hemmy milky coffee start..lol…

    Hemmy..
Everything ok…have you visitors this weekend??

    Jean x

    Morning all!
Jean- hope Steve’s MRI goes okay- does he mind having it? So noisy… He won’t mind you keeping out of the way then this afternoon!
Dave- hope you’re feeling better this morning…
Pseudo- hope you don’t have too many blisters!
Doing a roast chicken tonight- both boys should actually be home, youngest is sooo moody right now, barely speaks to us, hope he grows out of it soon! Xena’s tummy is fine now, had a lie in until 7.15, she doesn’t make any noise!

Good morning, feeling much better,it’s weird,I went through a box of tissues and today not needed one,it’s has if yesterday never happened.Started having porridge for breakfast now,I feel very uneasy when I lie in bed,the slightest thing and I think is it going to be another heart attack,I hope these terrible thoughts pass soon, very scary.Doctors at 8am tomorrow morning,so hope some of my worries get ironed out and my mountain of pills are sorted for repeat prescription.

    Hi All..
Waiting for an hour now.. running 20 mins late.. Steveā€™s gone in now…

    Hedgehog..
A lovely chicken dinner.. not for us today.. they can be so moody teenagers.. our younger grandson is but he seems late with puberty.. I would of had him at the doctors by now but I keep my mouth shut..lol

    Glad the pup seems better..

    Dave..
Hoping you feel more settled after you have your chat tomorrow.. glad the colds gone…

Our best man who fell off a ladder, hospital told him to rest up…itā€™s 5 weeks now he canā€™t walk.. his MRI states he has a fracture!!.. it will be mending all funny, hospital for him Monday..

    Jean x

Hope Steve is ok and results are helpful.Just took Heidi out for a little walk, less than half her normal one.Feeling a little breathless today,so will take it easy.

    Thanks Dave…

He had 4 scans done, we were 2 hours…he struggled to lay on his back…they said to go back to doctors for stronger painkillers and make another MRI appointment …he said, No way ….heā€™s waited too long as it is…they managed in the end….a three week wait for results apparently…

Finished my painting…just needs a touch up here and there, I noticed I crept on the ceiling and Steve touched the roller on too…so white out tomorrow and a bit of my wall paint…half a hour should do it…

Door handles are on now…pleased with what we have done so far…looks so much cleaner and brighter….I am not allowed to do any more painting till January…uummm, we will see on that one..lol

Are you sure you are ok dog walking…is breathlessness normal…it will take you a few months to get back to were you was….

    Jean x

Never had breathlessness before,so it could be tablets, will tell the doctor in the morning.Dont know how I will go on in the gymšŸ˜²šŸ˜².My son took Heidi out for a longer walk this afternoon. Can’t wait to have hour long discussion at the hospital about my condition.

Will have to change the way i fast because i have to take my tablets with food.I may try and do low days instead of fast days until i am on an even keel.

    Morning all!
Dave- I would think that getting breathless is pretty normal for a bit, I’m surprised you didn’t before as you had quite a few arteries blocked. Hopefully you’ll find out a bit at your GPs today. I’m sure there’s some info about taking tablets & fasting in other discussions on the forum.
Jean- poor Steve having to lay so long on his back…hope that the results show what’s up. I hate having to go back & repaint!
Yesterday disappeared somewhere! Xena seemed fine when we left her to go to Church, my parents were back from holiday so they popped in, lots of cooking…made youngests favourite pudding to try & get him to eat more, but he stropped off after dinner- we nag him all the time apparently!
I’m fasting today, Jean & Steve, are you as well, & Pseudo?

Sat in doctors, appointment at 9-10am.When I do a fast day I try to eat nothing until evening, but can’t do that now because I have to take meds with food.Seeing a new doctor so don’t know what he is like.

    Morning All….
I was going to give the car a good clean in and out but raining…šŸ™…maybe better later…

We are fasting today…will people stop throwing their pounds away..Steves catching them all…lol..

Our turn for not sleeping cuppa in bed at 5am…Steve was shuffling all night…disturbed me..

    Hedgehog..
Thereā€™s not a lot of touch up, you canā€™t see it but I know itā€™s there… it could be left….when doing the ceiling I had my varies on, my reading glasses might of been better…I did laugh at one stage I did a beautiful straight line, then realised I was half of an inch from the edge…age itā€™s awful!!

Are they all fussy eaters these days..my eldest grandson is the same, he was down to eating 5 foods, I think itā€™s gone up to about 10 now at 19 years..he has starting taking his first girlfriend out or a friend whoā€™s a girl?, on his third date, he wanted to take her out for a meal but they went to play pool because she is a fussy eater…they decided they both like chicken…lol…

    Dave..
Good luck at the doctors hope you can get some questions answered…my B in Law has gone in hospital today for his heart surgery …fancy we could of visited you both…lol……we may visit when he gets back home… Steves sister ( his wife) is going for her second hip doing in two weeks in Rightington.. where do you live?

Have a good fast day everyone…anyone else with us….

    Jean x

So going to Wigan for hip oppšŸ˜€ should be soul in Wigan šŸ˜€I live just under a mile from Belle Vue speedway track.Doctor said very important to do exorcise, but to take it easy for now,I asked if I could still take Heidi out and he said yes but to walk slowly and stop if I became breathless. He has stopped my naproxen because I am on aspirin, that too is not good for the stomach.

    Morning all.

Because I was driving on Saturday I didn’t disconnect the car battery like I normally do on weekends. I sat in there yesterday with it revving for a while thinking that would keep it charged up enough for today, try to get in today, guess what, dead. Managed to jump it outside the house without too many issues… drove off and it cut out at the traffic lights and wouldn’t start back up. Right in the rush hour traffic! I managed to jump it again luckily, but it was a bit touch and go. So that’s my lesson learnt, unless I’m driving every day always disconnect the battery. Such a pain.
Got into work desperate for coffee, only to discover my cream has gone off, even though the date isn’t up.
Hope the rest of the day turns out better!

Yup I’m on an FD today. Not that it seems to do me much good.

    Get another car, problem solved.

And get the money from where…?

That’s the problem, but if it was me I would try and get another car, you will be paying out for yours constantly,in the long run,it will possibly work out cheaper, especially now winter is almost here.I still don’t get my state pension so not got a lot of money, but I would try the car people just to see what could be done.

I only bought it 6 months ago, I’m still paying it off, so I can’t afford to get another one. As long as I disconnect the battery it’s driveable, just not (REALLY not) ideal. I still haven’t taken it to be checked by an auto-electrician… I was planning to, but then the boiler died so all my funds had to go towards that instead. Hopefully when I do take it it’ll be something simple. The annoying thing is I bought this car because the one before it had so many problems and something wrong with it constantly, and then it turns out this one is just as bad.

Dave- good that you can still walk Heidi! Maybe a milky coffee would help with the tablets rather than a full meal if you still want to try fasting? You have a lot to get your head around at the moment with the scare you’ve had, so be easy on yourself!
Pseudo- your car is such a pain! I guess you couldn’t afford a new car on finance right now with the degree starting? There are some good deals about, but you still have to pay for it in the end…
Jean- the joys of getting old, yes! Hubby says his knees are getting really painful from sitting playing with Xena, I notice the TV is really loud when he’s been watching something too- he’s 9 years older than me. Son’s not that fussy, just part of his being in a mood at the moment, hardly eating anything, he’s getting skinnier, won’t help his mood either, but can’t tell him that!! I can fast, I’ve got the body fat, but he hasn’t…
Minols- hope that you get the back sorted!
Trying to time getting things done around madam’s sleeps, like having a baby, she woke earlier than I thought so had to pack the ironing away halfway through, she still likes any electric leads!

    Afternoon All…

Got a good bit done this morning and got most things put back in the garage…..had about 15 mins to do when Steve started cleaning the car…so I dropped everything and helped heā€™s limping about and not good..we have got the inside done…having a cuppa and I will help on the outside….I look a sod in my painting dungarees washing the car..šŸ˜±
Just got my small job to do later and I will go for my shower…

    Hedgehog…
The glory of age…young and old…lol….and maybe the inbetween too…hope he settles down soon and eats..

Zena is keeping you busy..I bet you canā€™t wait for her to be able to walk out…I will be taking my walking shoes when I go to Louisiana me and my mate…lol

    Pseu..
Your poor car itā€™s causing you some problems….they always eat money…

    Dave..
Glad you can take Heidi out, just take it steady…I donā€™t like naproxen they made my arthritis in my toes worse…Steves takes 75 mg of Aspirin…

Steve said ā€˜ my flares need patching before I goā€™…… lol

Fasting going OK not had time to think of food…

    Jean x

Think I have had around 700 calories up to now,so not a fast day but should be fairly low, having a chicken stir fry later.Going to try and stay low all week instead of fasting and see how I feel week by week. Not a lover of coffee, may drink one or possibly two cups per week, wouldn’t bother me if I never had one again.

Just finished the car took 2 hours to do…I am cream crackered!!….finished for the day..

Showered and sitting now….lovely and hot here at least the washing is drying…

Enjoy your stir fry later Dave……we are having a ham salad…going searching for a slim line tonic, just fancying one…never really do fizzy..

    Jean x

What sort of dressing do you put on ham salad, Jean? Sounds tempting, I might make that too

Feeling very tired, not normal for mešŸ˜ž could just doze off.Hopfully some food and I will come around, only taking Heidi out once today, she is fast asleep šŸ˜€. Think I will be in bed early tonight.

    Pseu..
Nothing so exciting…low fat salad cream or mayo..I have lettuce, toms, onion, 2 beetroots, sliced onion, half a peach and the ham, a small spoon of cranberry if I have any in….. I have garlic oil and also chilli oil dressings but to heavy to have today…

Just cooked a joint of ham it will last for 2 or 3 meals for us both…might throw some in a omelette as it finishes…we are supposed to be having a tight week with food…

I am out with my friend for lunch tomorrow…so I might not have breakfast…

Just having a cup of tea…I only had full fat tonic in so that was a No…

    Jean x

HI All – had a completely rubbish day – seems like I did my old trick of thinking I could be in two places at once and had two completely different Mondays planned – just when I was thinking about the one, I forgot about the other. I swear, they will not know when my Alzheimer’s begins!
Now I’ve hit something and the computer is reading everything to me – can’t get the thing to shut up!
Needless to say, not fasting and hoping to just keep it low.
Off on a conference for the next two days. Apparently, the back will eventually heel itself, but I have some stretches to do. Just need to get through sitting down for the next 48 hours – I can feel my grumpy evil twin emerging already, and I haven’t even packed my bag!

Anyway, will try to keep up with posts while I’m away.
    Mx

Poor Denise can hardly walk at all, much worst than when her bad knee was bad.She got a letter saying make an appointment for it to be checked at a clinic before anything can be done, the appointment is in SIX WEEKS,

    Evening All…

Eaten and all finished…roll on breakfast…ops I am not having any tomorrow…lunch out…lol..Steve is off on his last bike ride..hope he takes it steady…

    Minols…
Hope your grumpy twin settles down…your hubby will be glad you are staying away for a couple of nights….

    Dave..
Your body is putting you to sleep to mend…you will be bruised inside and the anesthetic will still be in your system..it could take a week to get it out of your body…take it slowly…šŸ›Œ

A long wait for Denise, they never dash…

    Keep strong everyone…

    Jean x

    Evening!
Dave- take it easy, make sure you do listen to your body & rest when you need to. Poor Denise, waiting is so hard when you’re in pain…
Jean- I should think you’re knackered with all you fit into the day!
    Pseudo- enjoy your ham salad!
Minols- hope your back survives the conference, & you get something from it, must be such a hassle getting everything organised! Resist the biscuits…
Had too much coffee again, but no food! Xena’s a scary mary with the hoover, bribed her with some chicken to come near it, she kept darting in & out the room! She ‘met’ the wheelie bin as well when I did some pruning! You forget all these things are strange for them! Never did get round to finishing the ironing…

    Good evening

I turn my back for two minutes and look at all your news!
    – Dave you can go to the top of my list to worry about. Glad youā€™re home safe from the hospital, hope you take it easy and make quick recovery.

Iā€™ll put Steve second on my list, jointly with Denise I think as both awaiting results and more appointments with not nice things going on, but also you Jean and Dave for having to support and no doubt worry too.

Hmm next I think will be Minols, sympathies with the pains and hope they ease soon. Youā€™re allowed to be grumpy at the conference.

Right Pseudo next for one thing after another, Impressed with your walk but sorry to hear about car troubles. Sounds like you know how to fix it but not nice when it happens on the road and in traffic.

Iā€™ll also say a little prayer for our children; either little or grown up. Fortunately Iā€™m through the teenage years without too much trouble but never stop worrying about them, my heart still jumps when I answer the phone and get a little voice saying muummmm?

Not worrying about Xena though Hh, she sounds a bundle of love and loving hearing about her introductions to the world. They say itā€™s so important to introduce them early to as much as possible but tricky when you canā€™t take them out until after injections. Weā€™ve still never made friends with the window cleaner and motor bike riders with helmets (sorry Jean and Steve).

Hello too to Hemmy, Kay and Lynne who are quiet too, hope youā€™re ok.

For me, Iā€™m heavy travelling again, at the airport waiting on a 9:20 flight to Bristol. Last time I caught this one I didnā€™t get in until 3:15 am. Wish me luck. Havenā€™t been too well so not been able to fast but hopefully on the mend.

    Take care everyone
    CW xx

Thanks CW I was up at seven this morning, way too early for my liking, didn’t get much anaesthetic only a local and when he did the first cut in my groin didn’t think he had used anyšŸ˜²šŸ˜³šŸ˜©.One thing much easier to sleep at home.I have joined a forum on Facebook for heart attack and stents, getting some useful advice.Still in the smoking forum although it shut down we all moved to Facebook,Made some good friends on there and we exchanged phone numbers, well two or three of us,we went to a suprise birthday party for one of them in the Wirral,so actually met a few of them in person.

    Morning All..
    A dull windy morning…

Off out on my own today…first dropping my basket of goodies off at the school to hope make some monies to the school trip funds…

Then meeting my friend for lunch…looking forward to seeing her it must be 18 months since our last meeting…she has 5 single friends ( divorced or widowed) and they always seems to have something planned and us caravanning, breaks etc and she looks after her grandchildren too…we are both busy..

    Cakey…
Lovely to hear from you and your lovely post…we all seem to be busy and lots of illness at the moment…but holding tight for support..

Sorry to hear you are not too good too…leaving fasting at the moment and just get better….hoping your flight was better than last time and on time….you are always so busy…take care and pop by….

    Dave..
Good idea to blog on the stent and heart attack forum..at least you can get some answers if needed…

    Hedgehog..
Xena sounds such fun..hope you got your ironing done…lol

Have a good day all….speak later in the afternoon..

    Jean x

    Greetings all.

Second FD today, stomach was rumbling on my commute this morning, not normal for me to be hungry first thing. Horrible weather here but at least the amber warning that we had for wind got rescinded… not that it isn’t windy!

Jean, hope you have a nice day with your friend.

CW, hope you feel better soon and you got home at a decent time!

Minols, did your evil twin erupt or did you manage to fight her back? šŸ˜‰

    Anyone else fasting today?

Belated morning all! Somebody was not lovely this morning, in a very bitey mood, so unfortunately time-out to calm down in the cage was needed- you’re not supposed to put them in as a punishment, but every other trick for calming her was failing! Thankfully asleep now, but had a big result with sitting by the washing machine on spin before that!
Dave- that’s great that you’re getting support & info in the FB group- it really helps talking to people who’ve been through the same as you.
Jean- have a lovely lunch & hope that the goodies get sold! How was Steve after the motorbike ride?
Pseudo- I’m fasting in the day, I’ll eat tonight. Hope work is busy enough to take your mind off food! We have the wind too, didn’t think the east was supposed to get it!
Cakey- lovely to have you back again, sorry that you’ve been ill though… Sounds tricky enough with watching what you eat for your skin to be fasting too… Hope the flight to Bristol is better than last time… How’s your daughter settling in to her new job? I hope she has a nice easy class?!
Minols- thinking of you & your painful back at the conference. Sit near the back then you could stand for a bit to ease it?
Take care everyone, & stay strong!

Argh, working out complicated invoices with VAT and discounts is not my forte. Brain fried! I’ve had to make a second cup of coffee in the hope the caffeine will kick my brain into gear, I usually only have one a day, and it I do have a second it’s never caffeinated.

HH, hope Xena is a nicer mood when she wakes up!

Had eleven hours in bed still a tiny bit tired, took Heidi out for her normal walk,so that was good.Going to leave fasting alone until next month, but still try to stay well under my TDEE.Will put my fitness Pal back on my phone.Just been sorting my tablet’s out into days then morning and night.
