    I had lazy morning but then spent all afternoon cleaning in the house. Suns out now so will pull up a few weeds and do some dead heading. Relaxed evening ahead, may try and find a film to watch and plan where to walk in the morning.

    It looks like we’ve all been busy today πŸ™‚

    I have only had 2 slices of bread with butter on at lunch time…yummy breadmaker malty granary loaf, and a handful of granola. Not sure what dinner will involve yet, but we still have salad to eat, so thats the basis!

    Hi.
    Had a lovely morning. Took niece to the monthly greyhound walk. I didn’t know in advance but it was a special event with little stalls to basically raise money. Anyway for a bit of fun they did a ‘most handsome boy’ and ‘prettiest girl’ competition for the dogs. Various dogs entered not just greys and Cooper won the girl!! Was lovely as niece walked around the little arena they’d made with me.
    Watched film this pm. Drank more cider. Feel I need to reevaluate my food and drink. Too much rubbish being consumed in my opinion.
    Easier said than done but I must look at it!!!

    Morning.
    I’m on an NFD but as I said yesterday I’m not eating any rubbish. No idea what time I’ll eat. Got yoga this morning so won’t be until after that.
    Mu scales aren’t very reliable so no idea where I am with weight. I just know I don’t feel good after eating and drinking certain things and want to feel great so need to be more mindful about what I do eat.

    A lazy day planned, getting our visa on line this morning for our holiday…it could be 30 mins or a couple of hours!……then later today Steve is taking grandson on the motorway, off and on slipways a few times then to the services..talking him through what he has to watch for….our motorway the M62 is very quiet as it goes off to Hull, needs to be a bit more busy…

    Our Birthday party went really well, people scattered in the garden and house lovely and sunny a bit too hot…plenty of food although very lovely…buffets are very brown! very much not us now….even Steve was commenting….although I ate quite a lot I can remember and can count what I had which is a positive, sandwiches, a couple of puddings and 3 wines small at that. Steve up 2 lbs today but he has not been to the bathroom so he was pleased at that..I had my morning cuppa so I shall pop on tomorrow …

    We are fasting today with, DF and Audrey….I am just having a coffee this morning and ham salad tonight. Hoping to keep it liquid till this evening…

    I’m 20 mins away from it being lunchtime at work, half way there! I’ll be fine once I get home, because I know food is around the corner ha! My tummy is rumbling so much this morning, its always harder after a weekend of over indulging!

    How are my fellow fasters going? Jean a lazy day sounds wonderful. I’ve been on the go for the past few weekends, I am SO ready for a weekend of doing nothing. I do love the shows, and the camping, but its also nice to just be at home, you know? I think you’ll be somewhere near to where we were when its your turn πŸ™‚ We were in Blackpool, and did a cruise to Lytham St. Anne’s on the Saturday.

    Rowena, I am definitely going to mindful of what I eat on my NFD’s this week. I want to keep it as low as I can. Too much this weekend has left me feeling a bit sluggish to be honest. Not great!

    Aud, hope your ok and arrive at the caravan safe and sound .. ohh pasta bake sounds lovely, I really like that!

    Visa done..taken us 2 hours, keeps your mind off food…another cuppa now as lunch time, how it passes when having fun..πŸ˜€..a job well done, now waiting 72 hours for it to be processed…

    Give it another month then we need a recall to see who is still with us …when all the holidays are finished…I think the groups very low at the moment…a few at goal and maybe not wanting support…it’s a shame you soon loose the plot without the groups backup…

    Holidays, Xmas, birthdays, do’s, living…the weight can go back on so easy…as soon as motivation goes..

    My thoughts as we have been there, lost 28lb…put it all back on…lost 32lbs again…it’s hard to keep it off, you need the finger on the button all the time….

    Made some healthy coconut bites today..50 cals each to have with a cuppa…good for the gut…keep in the fridge…how can I do that on a FD …made 46 small sweets.

    I agree Jean it’s so easy to put the weight back on. I’m struggling at the mo as my calories are too high on nfds.
    Loved yoga this morning. Tomorrow sees body pump and pilates. Took nearly a week for my aches and pains to go from last Tuesdays class!!!

    A lovely day here..bits of rain expected later..

    Car for a service this morning, usually we get a lift into Doncaster but thinking of walking in and back from the garage, might be a one way walk might be pushing it for Steve…possibly 30 mins each way ( slow walk)

    Scales up a couple of pounds from the weekend, fish and chips today then maybe two FD’s before Friday weigh in…I am just in maintenance it will come off….
    A bit challenging from Friday as our friends arrive with their caravan for the ‘forties do’ a bit of eating and drinking…home a week then away for our holiday on 5th September …

    Morning. I’m fasting too. I always just go for the one meal about 6pm. Just off to the gym. OH will be going to work then straight to a gig which I think he said was in Nottingham. So not back til late.
    It’s meant to be book club tonight. Just waiting to see how many people can make it and if so where it will be. I’ll just go for an hour as don’t want to leave dog on own too much today.
    When I get back from the gym I need to look at my car insurance. The renewal is about Β£80 more than last year. Not had any claims so will see if I can get that down.

    Did a good day yesterday out for a meal on Friday lunch with friends trying out a new carvery… Will try to be good until then… but we have decided we are having fish n chips one day at the harbour to watch the boats.

    Jean, glad the cars ok. Mines in for service on Friday, will drop it off on way to work, but its only 2 mins away, so it doesnt really give me the extra walk.

    DF, what did you have the end for dinner. Neil made mine too although I did tell him before hand that it needed to be low cal! Which it was πŸ™‚

    Quorn pieces with garlic, chilli and paprika with huge side salad. I did have a dollop of mayo with it and pinched a sliver of cheese before dinner as Neil was chomping away on it.

    Today was just the one meal at 300/350 cals so a success!
    I didnt go for a walk or bike ride though…sat in the sunshine in the garden instead! Making the most of it as I think today is the best day of the week.

    Next FD is Thursday, but Im going to try and keep it low tomorrow with hopefully a bit of exercise.

    Early night for me as Im feeling really tired. It will keep me away from temptation too.
    Planning a day out on Saturday to the coast with as much walking as we can get Ellie to do and will take a small picnic with us. Might factor in a cider in the pub at the end of the walk if Ive earned it πŸ˜‰

    Hi all.
    I haven’t made the most of the sun. Been indoors. Had 500 cals so stopping now for the day. Book club postponed. So me and the furry one are watching TV.
    Had bickering ‘almost’ argument over phone with OH earlier. He insists he told me something which I insist he didn’t. This happens a fair bit. I wish we had cameras in our house as he is so pig headed he will never admit he is wrong. Grrr!!!

    Morning All…

    Bright day….

    Going for my hair cut this morning, my lady is working at their other shop in the next town so driving over…shame the shop in our village is a two min walk.

    I made some lovely healthy coconut bites as big as a large marble…mine work out to 47 cals each..a couple to go with a cuppa…keep in the fridge or can freeze. Coconut is good for anyone with yeast problems and good for the gut. I will post the recipe if anyone wants it….a bit too nice, like a bounty bar.

    A FD for us today and tomorrow before the 40’s do over the weekend…balance the naughties.

    Steve was going to have a row yesterday with a caravan company over a caravan lock which has been ordered for 4 months..I told him it’s here and over three weeks ago!!…they only listen to what they want too.

    Morning all – just checking in.
    Not sure I remember how to do a FD, so going to start by noting everything I’m eating, and then I’ll look at planning a FD in.
    Holiday was great – camping and cycling in the Netherlands, eating sensibly for once on a holiday.
    Old hands may remember dogs featuring large on this page (how is Elie?)…so I should let you know the youngest of our dogs – the blonde, troublesome, wee ‘s’ – sadly died very suddenly while we were on holiday. Kennels were brilliant and got him to their vet when he started fitting, but they never managed to bring him round. Weird – still talk about talking the ‘dogs’ out and miss a blonde nose at my knee. The old dog is in fine fettle, though.
    It was terrible at the time – lots of tears. Somewhat eclipsed though by my Mum collapsing on holiday and a catalogue too long to bore people with of trying to get her home and into hospital here. She was diagnosed abroad with a massive brain tumour, almost certainly benign, but definitely needing to come out as impinging on brain function.
    Still waiting on specialists reviewing her case and calling her in – frustrating when you can see how she is ‘not herself’…but now that her immediate crisis is over, I just have to trust that there are others even more urgently in need than I perceive her to be who are currently benefitting from brilliant people working their damnedest!
    So that’s my summer!

    DF sausage casserole is hairy bikers recipe with a few tweaks healthy sausage, more beans, extra veg and no wine! Still very tasty it’s got chilli powder in so very tasty. With not many calories.

    Hairy Dieters – I have one, too, and made the tea bread at the weekend. All the sweetness comes from fruit, which is good for the boys, but even better is the fact that I don’t really like fruit loaves, so I can make it and not be tempted! They also love the biscotti I make from that book – again, not really my thing.

    Coconut bites, however…I’d love that recipe, Jean.

    DF, and minols, the recipe calls for streaky bacon, I just put a couple of slices of smoked back bacon in without the rind…. I usually do 12 sausage and 2 tins of beans, mixed , barlotti, kidney beans ns whatever I have in and it makes 12 portions, so I freeze them for ready meals… it can be left in slow cooker to cook all day so it’s a winner for me. It’s called the hairy bikers great sausage casserole… got it on internet.. we bith love it..

    This recipe makes hard work of it…my way was much easier…my silicone sweet mould was Β£1 from one of the cheap shops…it has 18 holes..I shall be buying another to make it easier….

    I used maple syrup this time, the honey gives it a different taste apparently…

    ( I made 46 but put them into a silicone sweet mold, about as big as a large marble, mine were 47 calories each.)

    DESCRIPTION

    These dark chocolate coconut bites look like cute truffles and require just four ingredients. 130 calories of natural goodness.

    INGREDIENTS

    2 cups dessicated coconut
    4 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
    5 tablespoons coconut oil
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    4 ounces dark chocolate for melting or milk chocolate ( I used double as smaller bites used more)

    INSTRUCTIONS

    Pulse the coconut in a blender or food processor until the texture becomes like thick flour. Transfer to a bowl and add the honey or maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla. Stir until a thick paste forms.
    Using your hands, squeeze the mixture into about 18 small balls. I found that rolling was difficult because they weren’t sticky enough, but I was able to shape them into balls by first squeezing them in my palm a few times (you’ll get some oil on your hands), and then gently shaping it from an oval into a round ball. Place the coconut balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until firm. I could tell that mine were ready because there was a small white ring of solidified coconut oil around the base of each ball.
    Melt the chocolate slowly and gently until smooth and spreadable. We don’t have a microwave, so I had the best results melting this in a stainless steel bowl placed in a hot oven for about 10 minutes.
    Lay out a sheet of wax paper. Using two forks, roll each coconut ball in the chocolate until completely covered. Scoop the ball out with the fork and let the extra chocolate drip off the fork. Gently nudge the chocolate covered ball onto wax paper and chill until the chocolate has hardened. Store in the refrigerator. Can freeze.

    NOTES
    It’s very important to use coconut oil because other oils won’t harden like coconut oil, and that hardening is what holds the shape together.

    Makes 46…. at 47 cals

    MY METHOD ..Easier than above….

    I put everything in a glass bowl, broke the solid coconut oil down with a knife into the mixture, with fingers make into like breadcrumbs ( like pastry)…put into mould so it’s full and press down gently but not too much pressure. Put in fridge for 30 mins or freezer for 15 mins, roll into the chocolate until covered…put onto greasepoof paper in fridge for the chocolate to go hard.

    When hard put in a plastic box with greasepoof paper on each layer.

    They are very tasty and have to control yourself!
