  • CG – absolutely love Desiderata; haven’t read it for years so must go and look it up again. Cherishing the life we have is very important; I try to pause for just a second or two every day to be thankful for how lucky I am. I’m thinking today of all those poor people in Nepal who are suffering again and living in fear for their lives and also the helicopter rescue crew – how cruel is fate!

That’s right Fit, where is the justice? We believe in God but don’t understand the Why’s sometimes. Such gentle people, thinking the worst had passed! Just unnecessary! And the chopper, golly mmmmm. Yes I count my blessings and say thank you every night when I get into bed, I’m not overly religious but know there is more than we realise 🙂 have a good night xxxxx.

    Hello everyone,

You can download Desiderata at http://www.thejoystory.com/desiderata/

Fast day today – going well, however OH wants to take me to dinner tonight – and I said ‘yes’! My life is mine to live and I live every day, more and more, in the now. It’s all I have. It’s all I ever had. And I love it.

Have a wonderful day you lovely people. Ruth Elizabeth xx

Thanks for the link RE, I adore it……bit like the 10 commandments to me, it’s a great philosophy and love your attitude, enjoy you night out too 🙂 xxxx

HI Everyone hope you’re all doing well if it’s a fast day. RE I agree with your statement of living in the moment & appreciating it. You could also another time simply switch your FD to Friday. But you’ll still end up with lower cals for today anyway & that always helps with a social occasion. Enjoy that meal won’t you!
FD today going as planned. Going to have a change from the HB egg for lunch today & enjoy some miso soup with tofu. Bought it a week or so back & still haven’t had it. Already have my suasage & lentil casserole ready for dinner so all good…hardly even any thinking required. Add in my cup of hot Vegemite (a teaspoon) and a coffee & after that it’s all herbal teas for me. And my day is done. Easyas…….MOST days as we all know!
Have a great day everyone and enjoy your fast day – what a feeling of success and control at the end of it! And if it’s not happening for you….do it tomorrow. there’s always tomorrow. suejen XX

I just added up my losses ladies – never done it till now. Have lost a total of 28cm with 13 off my bust, 9 off my waist and 6 off my slow hips! OH actually said to me the other day “Hey you’re not a broad any more.” Now normally I don’t like the term but in this context I was so pleased with the compliment esp cos I didn’t even have to push for one this time. It was quite genuine…and compliments from OH are rare. But I did get another one yesterday from him – my….what’s the world coming to?!! Watch out ladies 5:2 could lead to all sort of things! sj

Hi team. I thought I’d speed read through all the posts but it took much longer than that. Suejen – you mention making Sourdough a few pages back. I found some sourdough mix at my local IGA. It was next to the yeast. I add it to whole grain flour mix for my breadmaker. It’s probably not as good as the one that’s made using quite a truncated method but hubby and I like it.
FD here too. Eggs for brekkie, veg and tofu soup for lunch and an Asain recipe I found somewhere for dinner. It’s only 115 Calories. It’s got low cal noodles and Shiitake mushrooms. It’s nice and spicy.
It’s cold here too CG. But like you I prefer it to the heat. Oh and I miss our chats while watching the cricket.
Yes my heart goes out to the Nepalese people. They must be traumatised beyond anything we can imagine.
I must get up out of this chair now and do some chores.
Enjoy the rest of the day team and tomorrow is FRIDAY. I bought a small leg of lamb that I’m planning to roast tomorrow wiht all the trimmings. Yum.
    Xx Doggy

Just ducked in to say, thank you RE, CG for sharing the Desiderata, its so beautiful and affirming.

Hold on tight, determined fasters, another few hours to go only 🙂

Also sharing this really amazing blog post –
    http://www.leangains.com/2010/01/marshmallow-test.html

Just quickly logged in and saw FB’s post from yesterday. FB, hope you are enjoying the sunshine on the Gold Coast!!

Thank you Lotus123 for that link. Great article.

Gypsybell, I just read your poem. It’s terrific. Keep writing!

Country gal I adored your post! What a great outlook. I am learning so much from each of your experiences, it is strange though being new to the group. It feels like I have entered someone’s diary so I haven’t been making mention of the specific posts as I don’t want to invade someone’s personal space. What I am hearing is that this WOL will have the challenges that other diets do but it seems to be manageable long term and that’s what I need.

I have had to go interstate for work and so far have still managed to make good fast day choices. Work dinner function tonight might be a different storey though so I am prepared to have a low cal day if needed with proper fast day tomorrow. I weighed myself this morning and was amazed to see a loss of 1.3kg already although I know it’s just water weight.

Have a great night everyone 🙂

    Hi everybody!!
    Suejen that’s amazing!!! Well done!
Hope everybody’s FD is going well, I’m now having soup for dinner but I’m a bit disappointed in myself a today’s cals have come to just under 600 🙁 I have been eating less then usual on the normal days though so hoping tomorrow’s weigh in will be ok! Going to cinema tonight so that will also be a test as I love popcorn!!
Keep up the hard work everybody xx

Just popped in to check out today’s posts, so positive and great to see FD isn’t getting anyone down. 3:40pm in the West and our weather is warming up because of the promise of rain late tomorrow and over the weekend. Supposed to be around 28 deg. and feels like we are almost there. Still enjoying salads but will have to get going with the soups with temp dropping next week. Suejen that probably explains why I only gained 500 gr. even though I wasn’t taking much notice lately, lovely low cal food. Got stuck into the feta cheese and sharp cheddar though with it.

I’m finding it better if I hang out for a fairly decent dinner and get by on morning coffee, salad and a La Zuppa soup, such good value as most are around 23 cals. This means I have up to 400 to play with for dinner. I also drink lots of soda water with slice of lemon or a strawberry cut up in it. Feels like it has more substance than just a glass of water. Have a good night and weigh in tomorrow everyone. YY xx

Deb, I’m glad you liked it, you are not reading some one elses diary, you are part of “my life” now too 🙂 We do share a lot on our thread but finding peace in life is a challenge a lot of people never find. My relationships have been traumatic, so being on my own has been a blessing. I’m a lousey pick with men (according to my first husband 🙂 ) as you can see, we are still friends allthough we only see each other year over Xmas lunch at “our” daughters. Deb you’re doing very well with such a difficult life style with work , stick with it, it’s funny how the low cal options ARE there, we just never used to see them. Even grabbing an apple at the local supermarket for lunch is better than grabbing a sandwich or other take away options 🙂 Enjoy you evening out, don’t be too hard on yourself, this is a life style..for life…you would still be lower today than normal days
CVB I’m close to 600 today as well, it won’t really make much difference to your weight. See if you can take some chopped up carrots or an apple to the movies, doesn’t smell as good as popcorn I know….popcorn isn’t going too far over anyway, better than a lot of options 🙂 choice is yours….
Hope you are going well team with your fast today, getting difficult going through our first winter but WE CAN DO IT…or at least better than normal days 🙂 and we will get used to the change in climate even if it does take a few fasts …..all the best xxxxxxx

YY, well done, the LaZuppa is a great stand by isn’t it….good luck with the rest of your day. Too cold here on the East coast to think salads so the heartier meals are needed 🙁 but we will get used to it ..CG xxx

CG – what about Roast veggies instead of salads? I make mine in bulk (for 3-4 meals or so) , store in fridge and in microwave as needed… Better than a cold salad (brrr) 🙂

Good thinking Lotus, I just the strangest meal, and loved it. Still had some fresh beans left so steamed them, warmed up some rattouli to put on top, then two eggs over the top, golly it was filling, low cal and yummo. Especially with runny egg yolk running through it all….and hot 🙂 marvelous what you can come up with.. Xxxx

    Hi All!
Back to cold and windy here again today after lovely sunshine yesterday….constantly pulling things out of the wardrobe trying to decide what to wear to suit such changeable weather, it’s exhausting!
RE – thanks for the link. Enjoy your night out; remember we make 5:2 work for us, not the other way round!
CG – toaster bags are available from amazon and really cheap. Just search in the kitchen section; sorry I wasn’t able to post a direct link for you xx
SJ – you’re very organised and your meals sound tasty. Fantastic losses for you and so happy you’re getting the well deserved compliments. 🙂 My FD just started; had porridge for breakfast and will have small portion of whatever OH cooks for dinner this evening. Since I don’t do the cooking, I can’t really dictate what will be on the menu. I just avoid carbs on FDs and load up on the veggies. Slow and steady is the order of the day.
Doggy – lamb is one of my favourites, mmmm! It’s marvellous the way we can all still enjoy the food we love!
Debs – you are not intruding at all, we all share what we want to but it’s not compulsory! You are doing well and making good choices..keep up the good work! You hit the nail on the head when you said ‘long term’ and that’s why we call this a way of life and definitely not a diet.
CVB – don’t despair, I rarely manage to stay below 500 cals and I’m still losing; slower than others but getting there in my own time. Keep the faith 🙂
Off now to look at your link, Lotus, thanks!
Big hi to YY, FB, GG, Gyps, Doit, Raven, Up, Lacie, Andrew and everyone else (I’m sure my famously bad memory has overlooked someone, sorry 🙁 )

Lotus – brilliant link and so true. It’s a lesson we all can relate to and I’m sure we are all continuing to prove the truth of this article every day.

Suejen- congratulations! Your stats are fantastic 🙂 Countrygal- you are so good to us all,and you are right! It is our first winter fast 🙂 Lotus- I like the roast vege idea. I’m doing well today but I had a massive pig out yesterday – sorry I have been terrible at posting but I have been very busy at work, very cold and still hanging in there 🙂

Hi Fit, hope you slept well 🙂 the 600 doesn’t faze me today as it’s rare I eat up to my TDEE either. In reading the book it’s all calculater per week, 2000cal per normal day 500 FD and calculated at weeks end….I’m still so much lower over all as I guess you are before 5:2… It’s all so easy. And like you, I’m well and feel healthy, very happy and content at this weight so if I’m stable for some time it doesn’t really matter. Must be the season for roast lamb. My family are all coming down this week end for a belated Mother’s Day. It was my SIL b’day last week so they combine it with his Mum for Mother’s day…..just something I’ve accepted over the years.Anyway roast lamb dinner Saturday night, just like old times when they lived at home. My daughter is really looking forward to it as is my son, they always remember Mum’s home cooking 🙂
Have a great day and stay warm…CG xxx

Your recipe sounds actually quite tasty CG (the Googley egg and bean one). I had an inadvertent light day food day today at 1100 cals. So hopefully the scales are kind tomorrow 🙂
Good on ya Taco, for holding on to the FD today, as others say, the whole idea of this WOL we can we have a blow-out now and then 🙂
Fit, the guy has written some really good and well researched articles on his blog, and he is famous in body building world for his “Leangains” food plan. Funnily enough, he stopped posting a year back, as he got upset at how “others”, including our MM, published their books and got famous, on what he calls his idea. Childish, if you ask me, but his nutrition ideas are spot on. 🙂
Big Hello to all the team! And Good night too, for many of us…

Its reassuring to hear that other people also go between 500-600 cals on FD I was feeling like a failure! But good news on the will power front, just taken my friend to maccas drive through and didn’t get anything!!!! Super proud of myself. Scared about weigh in tomorrow though!
Good night everybody! I look forward to hearing about your progress tomorrow xx

And congratulations SJ! Getting compliments from one’s OH is always a treat, as they see us everyday, the change has to be a big one, for them to notice it at all. So imagine how much change others can see in you then!! Wonderful 🙂

I am sure it will ok CVB… As CG says often – don’t sweat the small stuff 🙂

Also CVB often the Saturday is the better day to weigh for some reason, a lot of us find we get a better result, anyway, you’ll be fine as Lotus said…think positive 🙂 xxxx

Taco – so sorry I omitted you from the roll call above, I have a terrible memory! Glad you’re doing well today and that’s all that matters. Xx
CG – I did sleep well thanks. I’m so happy for you that you will be surrounded by family for a lovely meal and special time together. Make the most of it and create memories to keep you warm in the winter months ahead. 🙂
Lotus – agree with you about the guy’s attitude – information is for sharing and we all benefit from the wisdom of those who have gone before. “If I can see further, it’s because I’m standing on the shoulders of giants.”
CVB – what a show of willpower and aussie determination – you fit in so well here!

    Good morning folks-
I just took a quick flick through the posts-so many posts. We are sure a talkative lot, aren’t we? I reckon I’m never going to be good at individual replies, so I’ll simply offer a blanket apology that extends for, well, ever 🙂

I have a copy of Desiderata on my wall. It’s brown and aging because I’ve carried it all around the world, anywhere I’ve lived, since I was a teenager. In the midst of a flood of stress at the moment, I had forgotten it. Thanks for the reminder! Excellent timing. If I listen closely, the universe will guide me.

I hope everyone has a good weigh in. And a great weekend.
    ta ta for now
    lacie

Remember to “go placidly amid the noise and haste”

Good morning everyone , I hope you have all had good news this morning 🙂 I am now 86.8kilos. I lost another 300 grams – 300 grams a week is not the kilo a week I was hoping for but a loss is a loss and I am ok with that. Xx have a great day

Good for you Tacofox. You’ve got the right attitude.

    I refuse to weigh today-this has been a B A D week for me. I need to reboot 🙂

Hi all. After 2 fast days I finally got back to my pre trip weight of a couple of weeks ago after travelling around New York and Massachusetts for a few days.
However, a couple of days ago I received flowers and choccies from my kids in Oz and have started another road trip today for the next 4 days. Today is a killer because my husband has had a speaking engagement which has meant wining and dining for lunch and dinner. We just arrived at a B and B and there were snacks including more chocs in our room. Normally I would be fasting today. The next few days we will be on a little holiday so I expect to be playing catch ups again next week. Oh well, you only live once!
I am in the Cape Cod part of the U.S by the water and it is a beautiful spring day! Worth a visit should you ever get the opportunity. Cheers, all and Lacie, love the idea of rebooting, I’ll do that next week!

Taco- Congratulations on the loss! Sliding down the graph is what matters, no worries about the speed 🙂
Uptight -You sure are leading a very interesting and adventurous life at the moment! Enjoy every moment of it !! 🙂
    Lacie – “Tomorrow’s another day”…

I have not weighed in today as today is also a fast day for me, hopefully being conscious about what goes in the old pie-hole will be help matters along 🙂

For those of us in winter (physically, weather-wise or emotionally), lets remember that winter always turns to spring…

Good morning team, yahoo it’s Friday 🙂
Yesterday morning I was 75.7 and today 74.9k so still playing the game of zig zags but feeling really well. I guess if I didn’t eat or drink for a few days the trend would be down down down, but as soon as either enters my mouth, up it goes again! 🙂 This really is the reason to only weigh once a week, it can become depressing watching the zig zag on a daily basis but we are all curious aren’t we? The other thing though, it is keeping you aware of what you are eating on a daily basis. 🙁
If the scales or even the tape measure isn’t being kind to you today, soldier on, your insides are reacting to this healthier WOE and the results WILL come 🙂 but when your body decides to let the fat go.
Have a happy day team, be kind to yourself, remember YOU are the most important person you know 🙂 so don’t sweat the small stuff, have a treat, you deserve it CG xxx

I am the same CG, 80kgs on Monday and now 78.8kgs. All because of what I have on the weekend, I know I will lose it by Friday but I don’t seem to go below the 78kgs. At least we have had a loss!!

I know what I have to do to move past this is to be strong on the weekends (just one and it will probably work)and then shift that kilo to get under 78kgs. What do you guys think?

Congrats to all who have lost this week.

Morning all. CG I’m sure the cold salads will go out the window once our temps drop next week – already aware this morning of the change of direction in our wind and I’m a wimp on cold days. So Lotus and CG, will be doing roast veg salads soon, thanks for the tip. BTW, do either of you ‘dress’ your veg salads and if so, what with?

Don’t know how my zig zag is going today, my scales gave up the ghost. Trying to remember back to earlier posts this year when others had to replace theirs. Don’t want whiz bang ones, just the pedestrian variety.

DoitinP I know what you mean about weekends, had my biggest shift when I cut down my TDEE one weekend. Admittedly I was home which makes it easier. Quite a bit of will power needed to get down to goal weight then I guess it won’t matter so much about the weekends. Good luck 🙂

Also CG, didn’t mean to sound smug about the weather. Just takes longer for winter to set in here in the West. I’m also assured that we don’t know what cold is by rellies in the East! Unless of course you live further south like SJ 🙂 YY xx

Hello team members. Friday ! Yippe I always look forward to it. My scales and measurements haven’t moved much over the past couple of weeks. BUT in four months I’ve lost 10 kilos. 8 cm from the spare tyre above my navel. 2 cm from waist, 9 from hips, 5 from bust and 3 off thighs. So it’s a long term thing and not a wiz bang, novelty fad diet. Here today and gone tomorrow. I’m almost always in a good frame of mind and happy with my lot in life. How fortunate am I. I can’t quite place what it was in the meal I had last night – Asain ingredients but I had technicolor nightmares and tummy cramps. I haven’t vomited though so it’s not food poisoning. I’m feeling OK now though. I’m in the process of making homemade bread and the lovely smell is wafting through the house.
In the past I’ve given you some stories re my miniature Poodle pup Pepper. He’s been a bit of a challenge but I love him to bits. He’s been difficult to walk on the lead despite 6 weeks of puppy obedience school. Yesterday I bumped into a retired cattle farmer from Q’sland. He has cattle dogs. When I told him of my hassles he advised me to put chilli or cayenne oh his lead. It’s sounds a tad cruel but today it worked. Just one taste of the chilli flavoured lead and he walked like a little angel. Thank you Rod.
OK must be off . XX Doggy.
    .

Poor Pepper …. living up to his name 🙂

Thanks Yum Yum, need that willpower!! I got my scales from Masters, quite cheap I think.

Doggy – you have done so well, and it has only been four months. I must measure myself again, have not done that for awhile.

Have a great weekend. Sorry, too many posts to reply to all. Will read up on the weekend.

YumYum you’re right about that, but hey today you’re heading for a brilliant 28 and guess where we’re heading – up to Perth! However the rest of the weekend is NOT looking so brilliant but we decided we just had to have a break anyway. And going to see the Eagles match on Saturday with our parkas on.
Well my FD went out the window when my best friend called in (a best friend who is a psychotherapist……now THAT’S a friend with benefits….of a different sort LOL!). So 2 glasses of red later and some crackers/cheese/quince paste and lots of helpful chat, her OH came knocking to see if she was still here….led to another glass of red & more crackers & avacado dip (from our tree) and …………then dinner! Never mind even though I’ve ended up +300g the chat was well worth it. And today is another day, and tomorrow another week to try for that elusive 71 something. Feeling much more upbeat today so the scales are not having any say in how I feel and why should they?! Our WOL allows for such days, accommodates them far better than any diet could ever do. We still have to live, have to enjoy life and take those moments when we can, it’s only when those moments become a pattern and 5:2 is forgotten that we have a problem!
Have a great weekend all possibly won’t post again till Sunday or Monday. Congrats to those who had losses…wonderful, it encourages all of us to keep on keeping on. Stay warm and enjoy those healthy soups. suejen XX

    HERE HERE SJ!! 🙂

Yum Yum – for roast veg dressing – I put different things, depending on the mood and what I am using the roast veggies as a base for – Feta and balsamic ( Mediterranean, or as a separate salad by itself, especially if roasting beetroots) / honey and Soy and crunchy noodles (Asian, grilled salmon etc) / lemon juice salt and pepper (my standard for can’t be bothered days, but actually quite nice and refreshing) / balsamic vinegar (good with roast root veggies). Sometimes, I also blend the veggies, especially with some roast red capsicum, as a dip. Nice with Pita chips.
For an “Autumn” Japanese party (held at a close by park), we grilled thickly sliced seasonal vegetables (pumpkin, sweet potato, eggplant etc) with some salt and white pepper on the barbie, then sprinkled light soy, mirin and served hot off the plate. Some people ate with sausages etc, but for me, just that simple taste was beautiful.
So, there you go – many ideas 🙂

Doggy – Congratulations – your weight loss is amazing and so inspirational!

SJ – So glad you have a good friend who is also knowledgeable enough to give you the right advice, to talk things through…

Suejen, I’m so pleased you have someone to “let go” with, no matter her profession, she’s a friend and that’s more important, a trouble shared is a trouble halved 🙂 and you feel cleansed of the weight on your shoulders. Stand tall my friend, be confident, know there was no malice meant in whatever happened and time will ease any pain. Yes it leaves a stain, but it passes enjoy your weekend and kick back 🙂
5:2 is definitely our friend in letting us live a normal life, it’s not a diet, we couldn’t get away with what we do as I keep saying 5:2 is part of our life, not all of it 🙂
Lotus, I can’t get my head around roast veg salad, I still think in terms of lettuce. I guess a stirfry is just as good 🙂 with or without protein added
Doggy, poor chillie pepper 🙂 the lo’ farmers are the ones who know alright 🙂
YY no smugness noticed, I love the cold weather, of course I love nice days too but just accept whatever we get….and dress for it. The house is warm and cosy, I have a dry as a bone coat and gumboots for the paddock a beanie and gloves….just look a picture, can you imagine it? 🙂 🙂
DiiP Possibly a 4:3 just for next week, see how you go, fast Mon, Wed, and Friday, weigh Saturday 🙂 might need a second 4:3 but then back to 5:2 YOU CAN DO IT, I did it with my three month plateau twice and it seemed to stir things up and it started dropping again, I stabilise every 5k for some reason grrr, but better at this weight cause I’m content, any more loss will be a bonus 🙂
Happy day team,, smile it’s free to give away and priceless when someone receives it 🙂 xxxxxx

CG I can imagine it, thanks to the photos and you would look very cute and cosy. Also you’re right, smiling is free and painless. Have you noticed how many little kids and babies smile back when you are smiling? Makes my day. I also talk to dogs waiting for their owners too and some of them smile back!
Right about now everyone is thinking this poor old dear needs her head examined!!! 🙂

SJ you may just need wet weather gear for Saturday, shock, horror. Weather gurus are actually using the ‘rain’ word not just ‘chance of showers’. We’ll see. Still 24 and high, light cloud coming in so might not make it to 28. Enjoy the game. I will have to read back to see why you are in sore need of counselling help and a weekend off sounds just what you need.

Thanks Lotus, will experiment with dressings. Have a lovely weekend.

DiiP will look in Masters, hadn’t thought of them, thanks. YY xx

Hello all, I made it back home for Friday weigh in: 84.3 kgs. (so that’s a gain of 500g over a fortnight) and really only on the usual zig zag scale. I will no doubt be back down to the 83’s tomorrow. With no damage done from the great time I had.

Until Murphy’s law evened the odds with a thud. My check in with the Leprechaun revealed his recent liver scans have come up positive for cancer again. So we are headed down a bad road for the foreseeable future as his options are investigated.
So CG, I’ll be looking for your positives! And RE, I shall pin the Desiderata to the brick wall I’m facing, so on the money!
Lotus. The wine bottle is my ‘marshmellow’ ATM!So it was a timely pep talk and bless you all for proving life is beautiful. I am at least refreshed in spirit and ready to do battle.
It is the curse of granny, maybe, that my recent blues were intuitive.I saw a dark cloud coming. I am no good at putting up with vaporizing gloom, so I did what I do and I am going to be glad of the extra fitness. Thank God I have 10 kgs less to carry and I have plans to adapt 5:2 to whatever comes next.

So I did fast yesterday and have had plenty of exercise after a gruelling trip that ended in a mad dash to get home. I am grateful for many things today and tomorrow will be another positive, as now I have the mongrel in my sights -not just a gloomy shadow. I know this piss ant – It won’t take anyone else from me without a fight! Ha! So much for retiring my badge – I just paid my rego and booked for professional development updates. I may be busy for a bit girls, but I’ll check in when I can. Never felt more like buying a pack of smokes! But I won’t. I’ll just have a rum and swear a lot. To you lot. Cheers! So sorry My post is just all about me! I have seen yours and am so impressed.( Suejen, CG, GG, FB, Dawg, Yummy, Doit, UP, Fit Taco, Lacy, old and newbies – are you listening?) Not a dud among us. We rock! Rock on! xxx Gyps

We’re listening Gypsy ! You are allowed posts where it’s just about you when it IS just about you. I was reminded of an article by Kathy Lette in the March Women’s Weekly (had quite a bit of time in waiting rooms lately) and something she said resonated with me and made me think about the lovelies on this forum. Even though it is aimed at Aussies, we have honorary Aussies it applies to as well.

She said “Aussie women are the world’s best kept secret. Funny, frank, fiercely loyal. Basically, Aussie women are each other’s human Wonderbras – uplifting, supportive and making each other look bigger and better”.

Don’t sweat the bigger part, look for the supportive bit Gyps. 🙂 YY xx

Oh Gyps, I’m so sorry, funny, I wondered if it was something like that that sent you packing because you took off not long after you’d gone for his check up. It’s a bast…d of a thing. I know full well you will have strength in reserve to help the one you love, and he is extremely lucky to have you by his side. As hard as it will be I’m sure you’ll find times to see humour as a way out of tough times. Please don’t lock yourself in a corner for a cry, use us my love , as much as there will be times you will feel alone, you are not..we are here for you…we are cyber family with hugs through air but please feel how loved you are by us all. You will need all you physical and mental strength to cope …as you know, and 5:2 is the least of your problems darling girl, so please look after yourself above everything. We all know it’s healthy but your thoughts will not be focusing on following a diet as such. Oh sh.. I wish I could put my arms around you and make it all better, make it go away but you are stronger than you think and will be in this time of need. My thoughts are with you both, my desiterata will help give you peace of mind in times of need, I live by it and has helped me through so much…xxxxx

Good evening DETERMINATORS…. What a hell of a week you have all had.

If anyone is feeling guilty tonight due to a blow out…join the club. I have eaten everything in site 🙁 now cooking our traditional Aussie meal steak chips and eggs! Plus a few whiskeys and zero! Oh boy, there goes another fast ruined. But there is always another coming up. Family here for the weekend, roast lamb with all the trimmings Sat night, plus a few drinks…might do a mini fast Sunday? Oh well, not to worry, our 5:2 is forgiving and I can’t eat as much as I used to so hoping portion control will help 🙂 🙁 doubt it grrr. Just having a smack the hand moment team, hope you don’t mind me sharing …xxxxxx
