    We’re up to 15 for our E-o-N group when we add Fuvvie, Debby (even if it’s a maybe), and Norrie!

    I am also in for December and thinking that maintaining might be a good goal…anything else, a Bonus! About 2 years ago when I tried this WOL I was going great until I hit the first plateau and gave up in despair. With all the anecdotal information from many of you long termers, I feel better able to confront what will inevitably come and turn to you for motivation to ‘keep the faith’ and to keep myself honest about what goes into my mouth! I’m very happy so far with loss and looser clothes, but still need to lose about 3kg/7lb to feel back to my old/preferred self. Hoping to get there by end of February and not be impatient.

    I’m amazed and grateful for the support that this group provides – 16 of us from all over the world for the Monday/Tuesday b2b FDs – what a way to stay motivated when struggling – I have also written all the names down and will keep it with me for the duration.

    I had 2 good NFDs this weekend and stayed within my TDEE – ate my evening meal at 7pm so fluids only from then – drinking a cup of tea atm and reading all the posts to ensure I go to bed with positive thoughts.

    Day 27 – London, UK, NFD

    Tough week, and weekend, so looking forward to getting back on track!! Can I please join the Monday/Tuesday B2B Fast group?? Can I have the up to date list of names to carry with me for support, I will need all the help I can get but really want to succeed!!

    Day 28. FD West Australia
    AARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
    Had 2 days of celebrations with family and birthdays on the weekend. Thought it was going well and I would be ‘ just over’ my TDEE. Saturday including cheesecake came in at 29 calories over so very acceptable.
    Yesterday however was a different matter. Essentially a 16:8 as I ate dinner Saturday night and then nothing until 2.30 pm Sunday which was healthy baked chicken ( half serve), 3 slices of rye bread, a few crackers and a small handful ( less than 20) of nuts, salads – no dressings, half a very small dessert and ONE piece of Lindt dark chocolate and a much smaller re-run at dinner. I ate almost TWICE my TDEE!!!!!😰 I would have been oblivious to all this and thinking it was a pretty good day calorie-wise. I wasn’t going to crunch the numbers but had to stay up late for family and with time to kill idly started putting the deets into MFP. The calorie count mounted and mounted and by the time I was inputting dinner I was almost in shock!! It all goes to show that I still have much to learn on my 5:2 journey and so , for me, I will continue to crunch numbers until I am aware of what my TDEE looks like and get to the stage where I can reasonably estimate my TDEE without having to count calories.
    I did enjoy the food and the company so no regrets but still a shock to see what I ate especially since I wasn’t very active.
    Good luck to all and will be thinking of the b2b EoNs. Will fast today and 16:8 tomorrow but have sport tomorrow and unable to do it when fasting – always end up ill.

    Day 27 E. Canada normally a FD but ended up NFD as I got confused about days

    I’m in for December for sure.

    I salute those going on a btb fast. I will try for a single day fast tomorrow, in truth I’m a little anxious about it, but don’t know why. If this is to be a WOL, I have to figure out the anxiety thing that has arisen about fasting. Have to ease up: this is about learning first and foremost, not about passing the bar.

    Now, for day26: Went out to brunch with a doctor friend who had a patient bring her Dr. Fung’s book. We spent the whole brunch discussing what we agreed about the book and what we didn’t.

    What I learned about the brunch food/eating out: I have to ask for two plates at the very least, in fact I may start bringing a plastic container to put extra food in. The food was great but there was too much of it, I find I enjoy food better once I’ve decided what I’d like to eat, and put the rest aside somehow. Hence the need for an extra plate or a container.

    The food: poached egg 90, hollandaise sauce – say 100; smoked salmon, 60, potato latke oh, easily 150; a small bit of roll just to taste it 50 st 450. Small bit of chili for late lunch which I didn’t really need but I was out of bananas and berries, 100; then I headed out for a 20 k bike ride, likely the last of the season. Had 1/2 of a chocolate lava muffin late in the p.m 200 st 750; shopped for the bananas, so as to have a better choice when I got home. Bought a handful of pepitas, 100, st 850. I think I finished the day at around 950 – 1000, and I was full all day. Stayed up late watching Robert Luftig’s ‘Fat Chance’ video and then researching for cross references, some of which supported some of his ideas, and others which didn’t.

    Day 27 – went for 1/2 a raisin bran muffin. Remembered to cut it in half right away and chuck the extra half, good for me. So 180. Then I had a bread sample thrust at me 70; ate 2/3 of a bagel 200, pb 70; st 520. Went shopping, had a handful of pepitas 100, some pb 50, st 670. Felt quite full. Did my hair, researched some more, then pork chop 250, rice 80, salad 70, st 1070. Half a banana 50, piece of high cocoa chocolate 80 and other 100 for 1200. Not much exercise today as the weather is sloppy.

    Good luck everyone, remember it’s a process thing.

    Lesson today: I would prefer salad for lunch, and I think I’ll see if I can freeze bagel slices.

    Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!!…I
    have not posted since then, i didn’t have coverage where i was staying : /

    I last left off on a FD on the day before thanksgiving but we were driving for hours so it ended up being a non fast day! Ugh. First time i have ever had trouble keeping up with a fd. I am doing my second fast of the week today and then will fast again tomorrow as part of my FD’s for next week.
    I did not eat anything until 5pm today and had a light (late, late lunch) and then a small dinner as part of my 500 calories today.

    Hopefully i have not done too much damage to my slow downward trajectory since I only have a few days to fulfill my goal for this month!

    Didn’t count any calories today. Had a salad for lunch and a piece of cake. Worked in the garden for two hours. Enjoyed a lovely pot roast at dinnertime, followed by two glasses of wine. A good way to end the week. Perhaps not so good for my Wednesday weighin. 😱

    Apologies for not checking in over the last few days. Our work Xmas party on Rottnest Island was great. We were really fortunate with the weather, it was hot all weekend, perfect for a beach holiday. Have to say food wise I was pretty good however I think I drank most of my calories. I was however pretty physically active with lots of swimming, walking and bike riding and a bit of climbing. We had a great weekend, the best Xmas party I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, despite the application of sunscreen, I’m looking rather like a cooked lobster.

    I’m trying to water fast today, will see how that goes. I’m off to Adelaide tomorrow to visit my 94 year old grandmother. I’m taking my 5 year old nephew and Mum is coming too, although she’s staying longer. I plan on continuing to do 5:2 while there. Really need to get back in to the rhythm of it.

    I see some of you are doing back to back fasting today and tomorrow. I’m really keen to give that a go, especially after reading Dr Fung’s books. Not sure if the timing is right for me considering the early morning start and flight I have tomorrow as well as a 4 hour bus trip. For those of you doing it, good luck! Can’t wait to hear how you fare.

    Went a little bit too wild on my bday weekend and felt really bad for it last night, I told hubby that I can’t WAIT to fast today, I’ve realized since starting this at the beginning of November, each time I eat a little more carbs than usual I just feel crappy and I am not even over eating!

    Well 2 more days until the end of this month – time to get back on track!!

    Day 28 Wellington NZ FD

    Big time FD for me today after another 3 days away with my mates playing golf in Taumarunui (pronounced: “town mar ra noo e” for all un kiwi people) Todays Maori Language lesson !!!

    The Hydration levels overtook the food intake levels again so sort of stuffed up my plans again, however, jumping on the scales this morning I’m still below my start weight on day 1 this month so not all lost.

    I must spend half an hour and catch up with everyone’s amazing efforts over past few days and also sign into next months challenge.

    Day 28, FD, New Zealand. Second post of the day. Just had my 500 cals for dinner and feeling really good. No issues at all during the day, plenty of water, plenty of walking. Bring on Tuesday!

    Hi, Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I’m still immersed in studies and can’t wait until I’m finished for the term! I’m working on my final assignment, then will just need to do a proof read of the three that I’ll be submitting this week and all will be behind me, …unless I get informed of a ‘re-submit’! Hopefully I’ll have put in enough work to pass without needing to do so! Can’t wait till this is all over so I can get back to fasting!

    Today is a fast day though I already had two coffees with semi skimmed milk. I’ll have steak plus vegetables for lunch NFD a yogurt plus a fruit for supper.

    Today I’m rather busy. I’m babysitting this morning then I have to take my son to Malta after school for an orthodontist appointment. Then it’s our Eucharistic meeting this evening and we’re celebrating mass today.

    Back2thefuture if you’re having a December challenge please count me in to maintain as I have maintained successfully this month.

    I’ve prepared some broth which I took to work, for lunch. Will also do a yoga session today, and generally hope that this week will be better than last.

    Day 28 Surrey UK day 1 of 2 fast days….I have visions of Kenneth Branagh in Henry V and his stirring speech “Once more into the breach dear friends….!” (or similar!) So if we take it a step at a time, by Wednesday morning we will have completed the whole journey. What is 2 days in a number of months or years?
    I have just rewritten the whole list very neatly, and mentally sent everyone positive thoughts as I wrote the name…it would be so interesting if all the regulars on this forum came together, we would be like a family being re-united, we know quite a lot about each other! I will soon be taking the dogs out and enjoy the crisp clear morning air….have a great day/evening wherever we all are!

    I awoke this morning very happy it was a FD. I struggled yesterday with my NFD. Since I was struggling, I YouTube’d (is that even a word), 5:2, in hopes to help, well I ran across this news story about the 5:2 diet, and the expert they had on( I’ve never heard about her before) stated that during FD many of the dieters will struggle not only the not eating part but struggle with the symptoms of it, headaches, dizziness, light headed, and being extremely cold. She went on to list, six or seven other symptoms as well. Which places them in a state of having the opposite reaction weight gain.
    I’ve never laughed so much, if this expert only knew the real truth. After reading many posts, quite the opposite happens, many of enjoy a good FD. Many of us, only in the beginning get the symptoms, under which normally don’t stay with us. I could say that being cold has stayed with me but to be honest, I’ve always been cold. Nothing to do with the diet itself, it’s just my thermostat is broken.
    Anyways not the point, for me I struggle with the NFD and to be honest besides this group there really isn’t any other support out there to help with being able to eat freely. I’m finding that I’m eating just because I can without much thought. I could easily fall into a FD, if I am not careful. No matter what I eat, I feel bloated and lethargic, I get the opposite effect when on an FD. I feel energized and I can think more clearly.
    Well besides all the youtubing( is that a real word?), I did manage to put the tree up, place the advent wreath on a beautifully made table. Bless my husbands heart, he’s going to put up the big wreath outside tonight. Which means only 8 or 9 boxes left to go.
    Well, that was my day in a nut shell. I’m sorry, I was rambling for a minute but that so called expert was such a hoot, but I wanted to share it all with you. In hopes you all can see the humor as well….
    well…… back to work after the long holiday weekend. Gonna try to be on time today…..

    Good job LEW, I’m just finishing my first b2b day too. Had a very small dinner of about 250 calories. Going to try to drink more water tomorrow as didn’t drink enough today.

    Day 28, USA, Missouri Ozarks, Fasting

    Back to work, back to fasting, ready for both. It will be busy the next couple of days as I work for a law firm that specializes in family law – there will be a LOT of phone calls about Thanksgiving visitation gone bad !!!
    Just grateful to be working at a place I love for people I love.

    Had a successful FD, hit a rough patch at about 2:30 but came good & just had broth for dinner.

    Bert1802 – I get cold in the air con at work & it is definitely worse on my fast days.

    After a rather indulgent 3 NFDs (and a near 1kg gain!!!), I was determined that today will be an FD – but gave in to lunch around 1pm! so NFD it is 🙁 I don’t know what came over me – one of those Dragons maybe…

    I want to finish off this month on a high (talk about leaving it the last minute!) – so will be going for a 36h liquid-only fast starting tonight. Anyone welcome to join me. Got my bone broth ready. Will do some cooking tonight so, I don’t have to handle food for darling hubby tomorrow 🙂

    Goodluck to all the B2B fasters today.
    I have had a very indulgent 3 day weekend. Hope to get back on track this week, by pulling up my big girl pants and remembering my goals. On an ordinary diet, this would be the point where I might quit due the upward trend on the scale, but thanks to you’all I will carry on and get back in control.
    Have my workplace Xmas party this coming weekend, which is a lunch at a fancy restaurant. Totally jealous of the 3 day beach party that Baygirl was treated to. Must be a great company to work for!

    The past weekend was a huge challenge with dinners or lunches out each day;a holiday atmosphere seems to have started early this year as good weather continues. As an added “test” Sunday evening was the Championship Game in the Canadian Football League (imagine a lower key Super-Bowl Sunday), a traditional “guys night” with wings, pizza or Chinese food. I opted for the Chinese but did not exactly exercise restraint! Long walks taken every day in an attempt to counter the caloric over indulgence but I have not ,yet, made HIIT a regular part of my life. Now where is that 2017 resolutions list…

    Hi all UK day 28 FD with my fellow b2b fasting pocket fasters 🙂

    So far so good – 2 cups of coffee with dash of milk (30 cals) and one cup of chicken Bovril (17 cals) to warm me up. Bone broth at the ready for when I get home (est 144) hopefully nothing more so estimated 191 cals for the day – if I can resist the family meal during and after I have cooked it.

    Day 28 – London, UK – b2b fasting team member!

    Thank you for the list of names @annemarilyn I have you all tucked safely in my pocket!! This is my first b2b fast so I am hoping to get through it, with all of your help and support, and crunch some numbers on Wednesday weigh in!

    So far so good, one coffee, lots of water, an apple and an orange so far. Planning some Miso soup before I go out to to my double exercise class tonight. I will need an early night after it so hope that will get me through Day 1. Good luck fellow pocket fasters!!

    Yay, good to hear already of people doing well today. Whether you’re one of the 20 of us doing B2B or not, have a great day!

    I’ve started the day with some decafe coffee with a little Almond milk (5 cal). Probably have tea and lots of water at school, bone broth at lunch & an egg/tuna salad on greens for evening meal – to keep within the 500 FD.

    US SC DAY 29 FD. Well, I hope it will still count, but I actually started my b2b fasts yesterday before I knew about the Mon/Tues one. So far so good for day 2. I will have the b2b (sun/mon) and then I plan on another FD on Wednesday with a weigh in on Thursday morning in the hope that I will have a loss (no matter how small) and not break my winning streak for my 7th month on 5:2. Good luck all and especially b2b buddies..

    With just 2 days left in this challenge I feel a little defeated. My plan was to maintain and/or loose a little more. I seem to have lost my way. I’ve been resting on my laurels and enjoying this new found success and squandered it. I’ve actually put on 2-4 lbs. depending on the day. I’m going to keep my FD today and Thursday as planned. Not going to double up as it would probably just be H2O weight anyway. Here’s to next month! I’m keeping this as a WOL so I guess there are gonna be peeks and valleys along the way.     Day 28 – Cumbria UK – FD

    A good day so far – fluids only since 1900hrs yesterday – went for morning coffee with my OH – I had a skimmed milk flat white and did not really hanker for the apple and date flapjack he had with his coffee……

    Then met up with some girlfriends for a chat and cup of tea this afternoon and sipped on Earl Grey Tea – it did help that no one had any cakes – I then attended a 1hr Pilates class.

    Back home now preparing dinner for OH before I go to my 1.5hr Yoga class later this evening – luckily I normally don’t feel hungry after my Yoga class but feel clear headed and relaxed – so fingers crossed!

    I hope everyone on the B2B list and others fasting today are going strong – positive thoughts for anyone struggling.

    I have tried to keep up with my fluid intake drinking hot water with lemon in between – have managed 1.5L so far today – should reach the 2L mark before bed tonight.

    It is so encouraging knowing that there are some 20 of us doing this back to back FDs together – I have followed what others have done and written all the names on a bit of paper that has been in my pocket today.

    Day 28, FD. I am sitting with therealwil78. I got over confident and put a few back on. I will not be meeting my November goal but hope to be pretty darn close by Wednesday.

    NFD today. Holding my own on maintenance.Can’t decide when my next FD will be though. If I really stay at TDEE each day, is another FD necessary? I have used one per week mainly to take off what a day of overeating gave me.
