When should I start??

  • Hi all

    Im a newbie to the site. I did the 5:2 last year and lost a stone on it and I was at my lowest weight ever!!!! Anyway since xmas I have not been fasting or any other healthy regime and have piled the weight back on. So i am going to be starting the 5:2 again.

    But my question is when should I start?? Tomorrow (bearing in mind its a Saturday!!!!) or Monday to start a brand new week with a brand new diet regime?!?

    Any suggestions will be much appreciated xxx

    Hi Sakina5, look at what you’re doing in the next week or so and pick 2 days that best suit you. Days where you will be occupied and busy enough to take your mind off food but not so physically demanding that you put too much pressure on yourself (you can be active on a fastday once you’re used to it but it’s probably not best to make things harder for yourself when you’re just starting out). You also need to pick days where you are not likely to need to eat out or socialise out of the house, so that you have more control of what you’re putting in your mouth.

    Then just do it. Lots of water. Avoid eating for as long as you possibly can and keep reminding yourself that hunger comes in waves and it will go away in a minute and that you can have that cake/biscuit/sausage roll or whatever tomorrow!
