  • Hi guys I’m a 42 yr old man who’s lost over 5.7 stone . (I was 23.7 now just under 18 and want to drop another 3-4 stone ) I have recently bought a weight bench and weights and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some starting exercises to do it on the bench . I find the lat pulls down ok with 8kg on either side . However I find the fly bar pulls and long bar push ups hard .im looking to tone up and build up my upper body muscles

    Big compound movements.

Try ‘Body by science’ by Doug McGuff

It’s not a good idea to ignore your legs though. They need to support your weight and because they are such big muscles there growth will have an impact on the rest of your results. Besides, your doing the top half anyway, you might as well.
