  • This all sounds too easy. Too good to be true. Nevertheless I am going to give it a go. No harm in trying. I’ve chosen Friday and Sunday as my fasting days but if I need to, can I swap these round or does it have to be set in concrete?
I have googled calories in fruit so I guess that’s what I will be eating on my fasting days, is this a good idea? X

Hi xJemmax and welcome to the forum!

yes you can choose any days you want as fast days, make sure you keep to your TDEE though on your normal days, see the “how?” section top of the page 🙂

fruits to eat on your fast days are fine too, just bear in mind some can contain a high amount of sugar…

good luck and happy fasting 🙂

    Hello and welcome!

I’ve always been a crash and gain type of girl which in my twentys worked for me. Now in my 30’s with a 5 month old baby crashing down isn’t kind to the face or boobs!

I decided I needed a lifestyle that will slowly tick away at the last 15 – 20lbs of baby weight, that is kind to my body and enables me to have a social life and set a good example to my boy.

My advice would be to make your Fast Days as ‘normal’ as possible. I think just eating fruit would feel like you were missing out.

My average fast day looks like this –

Morning – double espresso with sweetener (kills my breakfast appetite)

12-1 depending on how long I can last, Muller Greek Yogurt and 5 strawberries. 100 cals. 1 small egg and 2 egg whites scrambled. 100 cals. Plus loads of water.

If I get a craving for something nice I treat myself to a diet coke ha ha

6pm I make a home made curry with a veggie base plus 100g chicken or prawns. I serve on Zero Rice. 300 cals

The veggie base an also be used to make a tagine – I just adjust the spices used.

I got my copy of Fast Cook this week and there a some lovely recipes in it – you could have friends for dinner and they’d have no idea how few calories they were eating!

Good luck and if you want my veggie base recipe just shout.

    R 🙂

I would concur with that. Fruit should be approached with caution as the sugar in it will stimulate insulin production – the hormone which turns sugar into fat. I have had good results with following a lowish carb / high protein menu on fast days. Salmon or chicken with lots of veg suits me, although I do have a breakfast banana. No added-sugar food, bread, potatoes, cereal, rice or pasta on fast days. Good luck.

Thanks! Some helpful advice here. That’s good news that I can change my fast days based on my week. I have the fast exercise book but I might need to invest in the reciepe book too.
How is soup on a fasting day? Or something like noodles? X

Jemma – noodles are a dense carbohydrate which the body processes fairly rapidly into sugar. Personally I avoid such things on fast days – others of course may differ. Soup should be great – but preferably free from added sugar or starch would be be my take.

Hey guys… My name is Diana and I am new on this site. In september 2012 I started my studies in the Netherlands and since then i gained almost 20. I want to get read of these kilos but it’s so hard for me to stick to a plan nowadays. I must find the motivation somehow but I have no idea how.
I am very young (21) and i am sick of wearing the same clothes for days just because these are the only ones I feel good in. I weigh about 84 kilos and i am about 1,7 meters tall.
I want to give it a try with including 2 days of “fasting” in my diet and see if it works.

Hi Dianae and welcome to the forums!!

please do give this a go, plenty of support on here, look around the forum for help and such, and good luck!! 🙂

Thank you Angie for your reply. I will try to stick to it for a while and hopefully it will work.
I will post my results after each week.
