Normal to feel really hot and flushed?

  • Hi, I just started this diet a few days ago and all of a sudden, even though it’s a coolish sort of day, I’m feeling really hot and flushed. Is this normal when you start out, and if so, how long does it last?

    Might you be getting a bit dehydrated? Have a big drink of water and see if that helps.

    I’ve been drinking my usual 1.5 litres of water a day as well as some cups of fruit tea so I wouldn’t think I’m dehydrated.

    When you’re fasting, you’re not getting the water that you might usually do from food, so it’s important to up your water intake in the absence of that other source of water. I often drink upwards of 3L, plus some herbal tea and black coffee on fasting days (though just do what feels right for you).
