  • Hi!
I’m curious, how many calories do you eat on a non fast day? I understand the logic is to eat your TDEE, but do you eat that? Or less?

My TDEE is 2187 but I usually eat around 1500 calories when eating healthily and not doing 5:2. I’m going to bump this up to 1700 to give room for a plateau and also so it’s not too few.

If you don’t eat your TDEE, how much of a deficit do you eat on a non fast day? And do you experience a reasonable weight loss on that?

    Thanks all! 🙂

I don’t count calories, so just as much food as I am hungry for, and keeping track of how I need less and prefer different foods as my 5:2 journey goes on.

    Hi maddy and welcome:

There can be no one answer to your questions because everyone is different. This will help you understand how TDEE works and figure out how much you might lose with different eating patterns. Remember, TDEE is an estimate, so you have to adjust with experience: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/tdee-for-the-curious-or-why-dont-i-lose-weight-faster/

    Good Luck!
