  • Hi folks
    Just wanted to introduce myself.
Am looking….reading the book and hoping this one will work.
Getting married March next year but I need to loose at least two stone. I like my curves but I would also like to get into my wedding dress ha ha….
I was a very fit size 12, three years ago but I hit 40 and everything changed. It was like my body changed over night.
Three years later and I am three stone heavier.
Found the man of my dreams and getting married.
So a month ago I decided to do a calorie controlled diet. I lost a few pound then put a few on… So decided to try slimming world. Well lost a pound then put it on. I am dishearted and frustrated as I am focused to try but am stuck!!!
So hoping this will work with my premenopausal body…..
    Nice to meet you all…

Good to meet you too Nini!

I’m post menopausal so have had similar experience as you with various types of diets and programs and the difficulty with shedding weight. The thing is none of that actually got any easier as I continued to go through menopause and age.

I seemed to always hit what I call a ‘weight barrier’. It was a particular number on the scale that I’d reach that was like a rubber band that would bounce me back up to former heavier self. I seemed helpless. Seemed no matter what I did, this phenomenon ruled. …Until 5:2!!!

So it was with almost unbelief when after starting 5:2 I moved right through that weight barrier. It happened so, easily too, compared with everything else I tried. I’m not saying that it has all been easy. Yes, I do get hungry at times, though I’ve learned that the hunger comes and goes in waves and if I choose the right foods for me on my fasting days I’m fine. I find that eating a minimum of 50 grams of protein usually keeps me feeling full enough till my nice breakfast the next morning after my fasting day. Always knowing that a delicious breakfast isn’t far away helps a lot.

I’ve learned so much from others in this forum who’ve reached goals that are still on paper for me. I’m beginning to feel that by simply staying in touch with this forum through thick and thin and by airing difficulties and listening to the wise words of longer time members will almost surely guarantee anyone finding their way through to their destination.

    Hi label
    Thank you for replying.
So I have started fast day day one today and am feeling ok and optimistic.
Am going to stay in touch on the forum.
Nearly finished reading the book and it all makes sense weight and health wise…..
    Watch this space lol

Great that you’re feeling okay on your first fasting day! You’re on your way then, especially with the foundation of having read the book! Keep us posted!
