  • Day 11 OMAD London

I concur with @at, @daffodil2010. Avon’s Skin so Soft is good for getting rid of pesky biters. I was recommended it by a friend who is from Mull, and she said everybody swears by it when the midges appear. It’s pretty cheap, and it works.

Just had a holiday ( ha!) in Poole, Dorset, by the sea, staying in a friend’s place. What a beautiful place. Got the train to Bournemouth, Swanage, and Weymouth, and went on the beach. Hurray. Bit nipsy for swimming but lovely all the same. OMAD still going strong. And still dry. We are off to a winery today for lunch with friends. They are doing the tasting tour first, but DH and I have ducked out of that. Let’s hope the food’s good….

    Day 11 UK NFD

Yesterday’s FD was a struggle in the end, with lots of self-talk and peppermint tea getting me through. I ended with berries and a handful of nuts – which i made myself weigh before eating (20g) – rounding up the day’s total to 780 calories.

I’m in that starting place where there’s a lot to lose and it gets going quickly. After 2CDs and 2FDs this week I’m down a whopping 4.5lbs and have lost half an inch off my waist. Loooooooong way to go yet but pleased to have made a good start. Now I *just* have the weekend to get through! 😀

Big changes this week have been coming back here and posting daily for accountability, counting calories, avoiding ‘treats’, eating earlier and drinking lots of water. Plus early nights and better self care. Now I need to get back into my morning yoga & meditation routine to make it sustainable – strangely later in the day never *happens* Prioritising things that feed me will help them become habits again.

@penz well done in getting through your FD!
@daffodil2010 I’m finding it really helpful to look back to the early days to track progress and remind myself what helped

    Day 11 – Canada – ?

Good morning. Not sure what kind of eating day I’ll have. I’m thinking of pizza for dinner, a rarity for me, but instead I might have a FD if the day goes well. Busy day ahead with tennis and working on the house. Quite possibly a good day to limit calories, so much easier when I’m busy.

Congrats @michelinme, so nice to see the results of your hard work.

    Good luck all.

    Day 11 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Sneaked on the scales this morning to see if this month’s Reset is working. Oh joy! 2 pounds down 😊 and a timely boost for the mojo to stay motivated and resist temptation over the weekend.

Off to get breakfast before my grocery delivery arrives, another supply of healthy fruit and veg. Wonder if I will manage to stay away from the wine this weekend 🤔

Have a successful day all 🙂

    Day 11 – UK – TDEE

Yesterday ended up being a BMR day instead of the 4th FD800 I had planned……weight this morning was 58kg – so far in this June Challenge I have managed a loss of 1.2kg/2.6lbs – so glad to be heading in the right direction once more 💃 Now to stay in control over the weekend 🤞

OH and I have a 3 course Rick Stein Lobster meal delivery today so if I do a OMAD, even with some 🥂 I should still come in at TDEE! a lovely meal to look forward to should be motivation enough……

@flourbaby – enjoyed that post where you talk to yourself – I’m sure the feelings/thoughts expressed resonate with most of us x
@susan_dormi – totally understand about not eating differently from the family, perhaps you could serve your food in a smaller plate which will help you cut down on portion size and reduce the carbs whilst increasing the vegetable/salad elements – so the children see you eating the same food and you get to stay within your decided 500/800cals FD – WIN WIN!
@stitchincarol – busy busy – hope you can relax a bit over the weekend and enjoy time with the family
@jaifaim – hopefully you’re feeling better today and you can get to enjoy the lovely weather predicted for the weekend
@michelinme – lovely to read such a positive post and it sounds like you are in a good space and what great result for your first week!
@penz – good job in sticking to your FD yesterday despite the struggle
@daffodil2010 – what about just going back to the basics for June and keep an eye on your calories on NFD?? As we all know sadly it is so easy to underestimate how many calories we are consuming…
@emma-taylor – Winery visit and avoiding the wine tasting – you definitely have got your staying dry mojo 💪 Out of interest where is the winery??
@dvw – did I tempt you with pizza after posting about my sourdough pizza??? I too could not remember the last time I ate one but it was so good! Enjoy if you decide to go for one!
@missybear – such a lovely feeling to see that lower number on the scales!

The sun has just started to come out here after a drizzly overcast start to the day – just as predicted so I’m off to get sorted out for a wander which should distract me from any food – must remember to just keep drinking water until dinner tonight….

Fab June Fasters – All together for a controlled and fabulous weekend 🤞

    Day 11 MN/USA FD800

I am struggling a bit to get back into my routine after about 3 weeks of allowing myself to indulge during travels and visits with family and friends. It seems to take me a good week or more after holidays to reset. I really admire those of you who get right back to “normal” FD routines soon after time off. How those of you who travel frequently can stay on goal is a mystery to me!

I am going to have a FD800 weekend and possibly until Tuesday when I give blood. Staying dry. Hoping that will quiet my appetite and cravings brought on by excesses. Thanks to all who post their successes…..it’s great motivation.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    2nd Post:
@litprof – Congrats on your amazing progress and weighing the same as 24 years ago……Happy Anniversary!

    Day 11, London, UK, NFD,

I was planning a FD today, but the ‘blistering heat’ (for us Northern Hemispherites …………………………… that’s about 24 degrees C in the daytime @penz!!) meant last night was a sweaty one, tossing & turning/ sheet on, sheet off night, it may have been the awful combo of a hot night/night sweats that meant very little sleep i.e. motivation😂……………………… Does this sound like an excuse NOT to fast??? 😱!!!! I don’t want to sound selfish, but the one week of sunshine & heat we get here is NOT for sharing with you guys Down Under who have the most fabulous weather ALL ………. Year …………… Round!!!!

My goodness @daffodil2010, 2017 seems like a different woman ago for both of us!!! I had this WOL NAILED😇!!! Then along came complacency ………………………….. Enough said😭!!! I know a hell of lot of skinny menopausal women, so I’m nixing that idea (even though it probably makes things 100x harder! 😰………………. Fact!) as, I would end up just giving up and blaming womanhood 😎!!!

    @at, yes I think you’re right, back to basics and K.I.S.S. it’s called 5:2 for a reason!!!

Has our resident songbird gone AWOL???

“A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.”– Unknown

The winery is Denbies, near Dorking. Very smart, but good value wine and food. We had fun. 😁😁

    Day 11 USA – NFD

Just a quick check in. Keeping at maintenance and enjoying summer heat (right, @northerndawn for sure).

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

    Onward and downward.

    Day 12 – Canada – NFD

    Good morning.

Managed a FD yesterday and today will be OMAD and it’s going to be pizza and a chocolate protein bar. Not the healthiest choices but two things I’ve been craving. Perhaps @at it was after reading your post about sour dough pizza, ha ha ha, very susceptible mind when it comes to delicious food.

Today I’ll also fit in a 10 k walk (probably 2 sets of 5 kms) and some weight training for my arms. I also continue to sort out the garage, it’s amazing how much stuff a person can accumulate!

    Take care all.

@missybear – well done. 👏 It’s so nice to see a lower number on the scale.
@flourbaby – I love reading your posts, they’re so funny, thank you for starting my day off with a smile 😊

    Day 12 UK NFD

Yesterday I blew my good resolutions with both ice cream and chocolate. I really can’t tolerate dairy or sugar so that was definitely a painful learning all over again. I kept it only just over TDEE rather than a big blow out but the sugar has done its thing and today i’m back to puffy and just a little under where I started. At least I know that a well-hydrated weekend with more mindful consumption will set me back on the path.

Just about to do some lunchtime yoga & meditation – better late than never. Then light lunch and back to garden pottering for today. It’s going to be hot this weekend – that means 26/28C but it’s a mean heat in the sun in London. Yay for frozen berries in lieu of ice cream!

Tomorrow I’m in town for community gathering and lunch – remembering my aversion to sugar and making more careful choices than today.

Wishing you all a good weekend x

Day 13 – Lake District UK – NFD

    Good morning everyone

Well, back from our travels again and had a wonderful time! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, looked after in grand style. Fed very well and walked miles!
Just checked, not been here since day 6 !
Well, since returning home have had 3 gardens to look after so been a bit ‘full on’! Amazing how much things grow when your backs turned, luckily another (non gardening) neighbour watered the greenhouse plants while we were away so they were OK. In fact quite a crop of tomatoes ready, won’t need to buy them for the rest of the summer.
Didn’t do too much damage with weight gain while we were away will get a better idea on Fridays weigh in.

Going to be a catch up BBQ, prosecco and beer afternoon with friends, then a couple or 3 FD’s should get me back on track this week. So, out into the garden again and tidy up ready for our visitors.

Hope everyone OK and bimbling along nicely.

    Take care all.

    Day 13 UK NFD

Morning all , had a few very indulgent days away and don’t regret any of it , Will get back on the straight and narrow tomorrow Have a good Sunday all

    Day 13 – Canada – FD800

Good morning everybody. As planned, I had a day of pizza eating, 1 slice for lunch and 3 for dinner, followed by 2 protein bars. Today I feel sluggish and slightly hungover. Time to get back to some fresh healthy foods today. Will also attempt another day of two 5k walks and some beach combing. I only found one teeny tiny piece of beach glass yesterday, maybe I’m looking in the wrong place 😊. Take care all and stay strong.

    Day 13, London, UK, FD

Feeling the positivity of PFDS😇!!! So I thought I would bank another one whilst the mood takes me!!😎

I have a busy day planned, staying with my mum for a few hours before my niece takes over, food shopping (I also have to get my mum a new microwave, she had a spoon/microwave incident😲) then I’m planning to spend an hour maximum in the blistering 30 degree sunshine🌞 scheduled for today!!!!

I hope the weekend hasn’t scuppered anyone’s fasting plans🙏, I used to think a weekend off was a good idea, but if this is truly to be a WOL, then there are NO days off …………………………………… just lots of days where I need to be switched ON 👍!!! Mindful, mindful, mindful!!! 🤗

Stay strong everyone, we’ve got this!!!! 💕

    Day 13 – USA/GA – FD

Rejoining the month’s challenge after returning yesterday from a week of beachside binging. The bad news: 226 lb weigh-in this morning represents a six pound weight gain since my low of 220 recorded on May 31. The good news: that’s only about half a pound gain over my last weigh-in of 225 on June 5.

The trip was good and helped me realize how short and precious life is. I don’t know if my father can handle many more road trips like this. As we approached Montgomery on our return trip on the expressway, we saw a wreck with lot of traffic on the other side. There was a a horrible motorcycle accident with a body bag on the ground. I looked it up last night and learned that a 35-year-old driver and his 30-year-old passenger lost control, hit the median, and were killed. A similar fatality happened about 20 miles south of us some hours after we returned home.

I think the 5:2 WOL will help me lose weight, become healthier, and enjoy more of the little time we have in this world. I’m back on the wagon, starting today. I plan to do a 4:3 this week and maybe next week, too. I’m interested to see if the theories about “taking a break” for a week then restarting an IF plan really does supercharge the metabolism. In any case, this may be a lost month, but if I can get back to the low 220s, I’ll be content.

    Day 13 UK NFD

Yesterday’s reset day ended up as a FD800. Stil some damage to undo from Friday but on the right track.

I made it into town for church and lunch gathering today. It was strange to be out and among lots of people after my hermitting the last couple of weeks. I made good food choices of a salad selection followed by vegan ice cream – which has far fewer calories! Supper will be a big salad of frisse & iceberg lettuces, watercress, cucumber, beetroot, tomato, avocado, red onion plus some grilled vegan chorizzo – that’s mostly made with mushrooms, pea flour & spices. That should set me up nicely for Monday’s FD.

It’s 28C outside so I’m back to lying on my bed with a fan on. I’ll get up in a bit to make salad then hopefully it’ll be cool enough to potter outside in the garden. Looking forward to bedtime already….

Hope you are having good weekend

    Hi, all!

DGD (21 months) is not napping today, so her mama is busy entertaining her (she’s too tired and thus too clingy for anyone else to come near her) and I have just a moment to check in.

It is NOT going well weight-wise and responsible-eating-wise. As in, I indulge every time I turn around, and the scale is up many pounds. I’ll give a number later this week after I’ve had a chance to fast once or twice, and then we’ll see how bad it is.

It IS going well as far as family time is going, and my little window of opportunity is rapidly closing…DGD is coming to see me, LOL!

I’ve read a few posts, and will catch up in a day or two. Good luck with better restraint than I’m showing! 😂🤣😂

    Day 14, U.K., FD

Just a quick check in to say I’m fasting today and have scheduled Wednesday and Friday too.

I only did 2 x FDs last week abd it wasn’t enough. I’m feeling rather bloated this morning as a result of four days enjoying lots of wine, birthday cake and so on!

    Happy fasting everyone!

    Day 14 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

It’s day minus 3 for me, counting down the days to Day zero on the 17rh, then it’s Day 1 of recovery 💃

It’s my last day in the office for a few weeks, I need to pick up an extra monitor and a docking station, then tomorrow I WFH until the foreseeable. I won’t be back at work for at least 4 weeks then WFH probably until I can drive again.

So, I don’t have the mindset for fasting today, but I definitely will on Wednesday …..I have to fast from midnight WedThurs so I reckon I may fast longer and fast from Tuesday evening ☺️ This fasting is easy to do when you are an old hand at it 👍

Weather disappointing yesterday, much of the country basking in sunshine and 27C, but my part of the country had low hanging grey clouds and humidity.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday, keep hanging in there.

    Day 14 – Ireland – NFD
    Day 13 – FD
    Day 12 – CD
    Day 11 – FD

    Hi all,
Belated happy birthday to @at and @daffodil2010! I’ve managed to read through to Day 8 and it’s lovely to hear how everyone is.. welcome back @michelinme and anyone else who has come back since the 8th… I’ll catch up on the rest of the posts later…
There seems to be a lot of energy at the moment which is great and hopefully a hint of life to come as we all open up a little more… looks like I will be back in the office in September which will be fantastic even for a few days… I’m fed up being at home all the time but enjoy the lunch swims etc so a mix will be nice.

@northgeorgia I am so sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience on your journey home. That’s just so very sad and really reinforces how precious life is. 😥

I have not been feeling too great this week but I am away now for the next week on a boating trip with friends which will take me out of my cocooned comfort zone but will be such a change of scene so I’m very excited. I will be back with the docs on my return – maybe stress affecting my body as it really has been a good few years of life pressures etc… so hols might help 🤞

@daffodil2010 I just read back through posts and am so glad that I’ve packed my insect spray and after bite etc … it’s such a shame but your break sounds fab and I’m sure you came back feeling rested and revived… I hope so … I love Donegal – such a beautiful part of our gorgeous country. 💕 I’ll be in the midlands cruising 🛥 and will try to disconnect from everything 🤞

I have just weighed before I leave and I’m down to a nice round 160lbs… but I think that’s because I’ve been eating really well with reduced coffee etc because of not feeling well… there is always a silver liniing ☁️ 😂.
I’ve decided my revised target will be another 6lbs by end 2021 and that’s it… no lower. 👍 May not get there but I need a focus 💪
Take care all – thanks for being there – you are all so supportive – a fabulous place for us to come and chat! 💕
    Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕

    Day 14 – Canada – FD

Just a quick hello. Yesterday’s FD was not successful. I was invited out for dinner with friends so that’s what I did. Today will be much more under my control. Welcome back @northgeorgia.
@flourbaby – love that quote. Take care all.

    Pocket list day 14
    @dvw

    Day 14 – USA/GA – NFD

I was able to persuade my scales to give me a 223 lb reading this morning (barely). The start of June was post-Memorial Day and along with lots of meetings that interrupted my regularly paced 5:2 schedule, I was only able to fast Sunday and Wednesday. That caused an unexpected increase during the week, ranging from a FD weigh-in of 220 on May 31 and ending the vacation start date on Saturday June 5 at 225 lbs. Interestingly enough, yesterday’s post-vacation weigh-in of 226 was only about half a pound higher over the June 5 date.

Anyway, here we are at mid-June. In addition to doing a 4:3 this week, my NFD eating habits should stabilize and trend into a healthier and lower calorie diet. It may be a “lost month,” in that I weighed 220 lbs on May 31, and it may be difficult to get lower than that by June 30. However, the month is young and I’m really excited to get into the 210s. I feel motivated!

    Day 14 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 FD

I have had a well controlled weekend, I suspect the glorious sunny weather helped as it was so easy to drink lots of water and a perfect temperature for salad meals. I even surprised myself and didn’t open a bottle of wine.

I am re-reading MM’s Fast800 book and finding it an excellent reminder of why I need to stick to a Med style of diet and it is also serving as a boost to the mojo. A good refresher in back to the basics of what worked so well for me when I first began 5:2 so I am in a good positive frame of mind as we start week 3 of June.

    Happy Monday everyone 😎

Day 14 North canton OH WFD
My family is 32 days away from a beach vacation! We planned this in November last year. At the time, I hoped that we would be able to go but was not sure; however prices were so ridiculously low and I was so desperate to get away that I just bit the bullet and jumped in with both feet. I am so glad that we are going to be able to go – God willing.
My major work project is finally over, wheew! I have a couple of mini projects to keep my eye on for the rest of the year but nothing like the bear we just put to rest.
I have been away from the forum for a little while, and it feels good to be back.
It appears that everyone took a little break to enjoy family, friends and food and then hopped on the wagon. Since this is supposed to be a WOL it think that has to be ok. Life happens right? The important thing is that we are hopping back on instead of letting it all hang loose, the struggle continues.
@northgeorgia I am interested in testing your theory as well about taking a break from IF and then jumping back in
@missybear back to the basics always helps my mojo, I will watch a couple videos to do the same.
    Have a happy Monday everyone.

    Day 14 UK FD

The weekend’s reset has helped me to feel back on the waggon again. Saturday’s FD800 and Sunday’s TDEE were just what I needed to set me up for FD today. Early weigh in shows i’m still down a smidge from my epic starting point last week.

Today’s been first day back into normal routine. I’ve done lots of picking up /sorting out emails but also took time earlier this morning for a little gardening; going to pop out for another potter shortly. Feeling a bit squished by how much there is but trying to keep perspective. I’m taking Wednesday off for my birthday so the time/load concertina is a bit squishier.

FD food has been great – yay for planning & prep. I had a heap of steamed cauliflower with nutritional yeast and pepper at 3pm, and prepped a huge salad for after my zoom conference. I’ve just enjoyed a heap of lettuce, spinach, watercress, beetroot, tomato, cucumber, avocado and red onion with some vegan chorizo. That leaves me a few calories for frozen berries post gardening if i’m hot & peckish.

@daffodil2010 hope everything went well with your last day in the office before surgery
@jaifaim Thank you,it’s good to be back. Your daily routine sounds great! Sorry your health isn’t so good at the moment and hope you have a lovely holiday x

    Day 15 AUS FD800

I’m travelling for work at the moment, and really enjoying the change of scene.

After a great first couple of weeks for the start of this month, I had an extremely decadent weekend, and am feeling very lardy and bleugh.

Looking forward to losing those last pounds to get to goal weight. It feels like it’s taking forever! I’m trying not to be too impatient, though, as that tends to lead me into yoyo-ing up and down.

Hoping to get there by the end of the month.

Day 14 USA – Happy Flag Day 🇺🇸 – MFD

Doing a modified FD today with just mostly one meal. I expect it will be (as I total up on MFP) about a 1000 calorie day. That is good.

This HOT dry weather is like almost no other. A huge chemical plant fire made the national news today that is in Rockton, Illinois, only about 20 miles from our home. Luckily, the winds and all are blowing away from us, but everyone in the targeted area are encouraged to wear masks. HUGE plumes of horrible black smoke. So far, it looks like only one fire fighter sustained minor injuries.

@northgeorgia – you are so right about our fleeting time on this planet. And we never know just when we will depart it, do we? I admire you and the resolve you have to be healthier.

@stitchincarol – know you have enjoyed seeing your GD there with you. We have 5 GD’s (no GS… 😢) but ours are 14, 16, 16, 18, & 21. I still have fond memories of them as smaller girls!

    Onward and downward.

    Day 15, FD, Aus

Back in the saddle after a long weekend where we seemed to spend a lot of it on the couch drinking wine. Not good for weight loss!!

Had a shocking night’s sleep last night. The only advantage of that is I am too tired to even think about food so today’s FD should be an easy one.

    Day 15. U.K. NFD

A good fasting day yesterday. Had yet another delicious meal from the Mosely/Bailey recipe book!

I also managed to get to 730pm before eating any food yesterday, that’s a record for me, yay!

@songbirdme – the Illinois fire sounds awful, hope the winds don’t change direction for your sake 🤞

    @penz }
    @litprof } I’m familiar with that situation 😀!
A full-on weekend does make me look forward to fasting on the Monday (though sometimes the reality of a fast day doesn’t quite match up!)

    @michelinme – happy birthday for Wednesday! 🎉🎉

@basyjames – so agree, this WOL is one we carve out to best suit our own lives!

@missybear – so impressed with your Constant Vigilance!
I often re-read MM books or Dr Jason Fung books to keep my mojo on track. Really helps.
I also keep reminding myself that Fasting & the Med diet are for healthy longevity as well as weight loss/maintenance…

    Day 15 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD

Going for my first of a B2B2B – going to keep it liquid only until OMAD tonight which will probably be a large salad, going to have the same tomorrow but last food before 6, then nil by mouth until after my op on Thursday.

I feel so ready for this. I feel sluggish and I know a good fast will set me up well for the pending surgery. I don’t really care about the weight loss right now, I just want that clean feeling that you get after a prolonged fast 😇

Great to hear everybody back and feeling full of pep and mojo

I am off to get my pre-op Covid and MRSA tests today, joy unconfined, and am set up at home to work for the next couple of days.

    Bring it on 💪

    Day 15, London, UK, FD

It’s another day in the office, therefore it’s a FD, so much easier to fast at work when you have to walk past 4 people to get to the kitchen!!😂

@jaifaim, enjoy the trip, I’m supposed to be going sailing at the end of the month, but 4 yachts and 30 people doesn’t quite follow current social distancing rules😟, I think there will be a postponement until July🙏!!!

@daffodil2010, keeping you in my thoughts🤗the extended fast will do wonders for your recovery 💪!! “Joy unconfined” ……………love it!!😂😝
I love when the medics tell you that you have to fast, and explain as if to a toddler that this means “You Cannot EAT anything!!” I had a procedure a couple of years ago requiring overnight fasting and the nurse😷 was very apologetic and kept asking me if I thought I just, might possibly, could & would manage not to basically eat anything that moved prior to being admitted to hospital!!!! The only appropriate response would have been……………….. “Oy Vey!!!”😉

The scales⚖ are doing that bouncy-bouncy nonsense again😤, I’ve threatened them with a visit to the nearest dump or charity shop unless they play nice, so that’s that!!! …………………… Are scales plural, they, them, it, he, she, the ‘s’ is throwing me, and the coffee☕ hasn’t kicked in yet????? 😁

@basyjames, I totally agree, this WOL allows for a side step here or there, no guilt, no self-flagellation!! When I tried dieting to lose weight, the guilt of failing to follow the rules (deprivation) to the letter made it a mental battering ram. The sustainability of this WOL means, as much as I would love to be 100% faithful, when the wagon leaves me behind or I take a detour to the plateau for a bit of sightseeing😁, I CAN & WILL always find my way back to chucking in a FD or 2 to get back in the swing of fasting. 🙌 🙌 ……………….. By the way, NOBODY wants to see anyone letting it all hang loose……………….ever!!! 😜😂

@penz, I know I shouldn’t say it, but you’re totally living my ideal life ………………….. soooo jealous!!!😜😂😝……………………………”a long weekend where we seemed to spend a lot of it on the couch drinking wine” 🍷 🍾🥂

    Stay strong everyone!!!

    Day 15 UK NFD

Ah I’m so glad you’re back @flourbaby You manage to sum up my thoughts very succinctly

The sums shining- makes eating salads and other healthy options so much easier and I’ve got so much better at ignoring 🍺mid week .Have a good one all

    Day 15 – Canada – NFD

Good morning everybody. Had a good FD yesterday and today the scales say 130.8. Just 2.2 lbs to go. I write these numbers to stay accountable and to help me from succumbing to my desire to stuff my face with chocolate!

@flourbaby – you crack me up, scales the ´s’ throwing you, ha ha ha. 😆
@daffodil2010 – sounds like you’ve got everything together, mind body and soul.
@missybear – such a fantastic idea to re-read the fasting books.
@basyjames – a beach vacation sounds lovely and even better if you got a good price!
    @fivetwofan5252 – 7:30! Wow, very impressive, I think I would have fainted.
@penz – ha ha ha, do a FD in a fog, good strategy.

    Take care all.

    Day 15 Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

A good FD800 yesterday and I slept like a log, so deeply that I am taking ages to wake fully this morning, think I will need extra coffee!

Another beautiful day here so I will make the most of it, nothing very exciting but I will enjoy a sunny stroll and relaxing in the garden. Meals this week will again be lots of veg and fruit with some lean protein, mainly fish and pulses…..and I will continue to ignore the call of the wine rack for as long as I can!

@daffodil2010 it sounds like you have preparations for your operation well organised, may it all go to plan and you will soon be on the road to recovery 🤗

Have a great day all 😎

    Day 15 – UK – FD800

Gosh can’t believe I last posted on Day 11 – very remiss of me as the host – apologies to all

Enjoyed some great tennis 🎾 from the French Open (especially the Djokovic v Nadal semis and also the final – I was hoping that Tsitsipas would manage to overcome Djokovic) and some interesting cricket 🏏 – NZ outclassed England on all front – well done to them on their first Test series triumph in the UK in 22 years!!

Woke up to another lovely day – missed out on my regular Broga class yesterday morning as I slept in 😱so did a class at 0915 this morning to make up for it – hard work 🥵

My garden has gone haywire so spent a couple of hours yesterday and filled my green bin then decided to give my friendly gardener a call for a visit in a couple of weeks when the green bin has been emptied – does look a bit better already – planning on doing a bit of general tidying up out there a bit later this afternoon unless I get distracted 🤣

My Friday lobster dinner was finger licking delicious and it ended up just above my TDEE 😇 Saturday was also at TDEE 😇 but Sunday went well above 👿 so a bit of mixed bag – managed to press my RESET button on Monday with a FD800 and aiming for another one today

Tomorrow I have a lovely day to look forward to – back to my first live yoga 🧘‍♀️ class in the morning since March last year!!!! after which 3 of my yoga friends have organised for us to go for a walk followed by afternoon tea hopefully this will not cause too much damage as it will be my OMAD🤞

@northerndawn – hope that you are settling back into your FD routine – it’s always difficult after a 3 week absence – I have to admit that I’m one of those that press my RESET button straightaway after a holiday – I often use the travel day back home as a FD to get me back on track!
@emma-taylor – thanks for the info – I’ll keep an eye out for Denbies wine – not one I was familiar with
@i-hate-lettuce – good to hear from you and that the holiday went well – I did think of you yesterday when I was out in the garden working….I think you enjoy it a lot more than me – I enjoy the results but not the labours 🤣
@flourbaby – “Feeling the positivity of PFDS😇!!!” and agreed that it is such a good feeling!!! Loving reading your posts once more they always make me laugh x
@northgeorgia – lovely to have you back after your seaside break and only 1lb gained……😮 great news
@jaifaim – thanks for the belated birthday wishes – had a fab one 63 this year but luckily not feeling like it at all……good news re your weight – well done
@missybear – such a positive post – great advice to look back at what worked previously and to emulate that once more
@basyjames – nice to see you posting – agreed that we all need to take “a little break to enjoy family, friends and food and then hopped on the wagon” every now and then and that’s the beauty of this WOL
@michelinme – sounds like you may have found your MOJO and a happy birthday for Wednesday as I will be posting late – have a fab day!
@daffodil2010 – sounds like you are prepping well for your op on Thursday – positive mind is great for healing – you will be in our thoughts 🤗
    @dvw – doing a great job – only 2.2lb to go!

Right off to shower and get ready to walk in the village – have a pedicure booked – love having my feet done – a real treat! Might do some of @i-hate-lettuce “bimbling” in the garden this afternoon before my High Impact Pilates class at 1645 – should all keep me busy and away from food 🤞

June is definitely the month to remember that “If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I was desperately wishing to be where I am now”

    Day 15 – USA/GA – FD

Whoa… weigh-in today, 226 (almost 227) lbs. About 1/4 lb heavier than my post-vacation weigh-in day… Maybe the vacation weight is yet to come? Well, I have to get away from feasting on NFDs. I was invited to lunch yesterday, then there were a few vacation “leftovers” for supper, then the taste for something sweet, once, twice, three times… eeeeeek

Second FD of my 4:3 this week. I also plan another 4:3 next week to help me get back on track. Hoping to get at/under the 225 mark by next week and hopefully reset at or near 220 by month’s end. So aggravating to be sooo close to a number at the start of the month then watch your body sprint in the opposite direction! Like a scared cat, I can’t get in a panic and chase the weight down; I’ll need to stay put and calmly call it back to me.

    “Here 220, 220, 200…”

    Good luck today, everyone!

Day 15 North Canton OH WFD2

Its mid June! 31 days away from vacay. I have 2 sisters and a nephew celebrating birthdays today, so yay, yay and more yay!!!
I always feel really cold and sleep so well on WFD and last night was no exception, I woke up feeling rested and hollow. My morning workout was tough but so satisfying, and I am posting early today- I feel like I am firing on all cylinders- let’s keep the mojo going!!!!
@litprof you are so close, stick with it, you are almost there
@michelinme so glad that you have your mojo firmly secured in place
    @penz shocking good or bad?
    @songbirdme be safe!
@daffodil2010 you are right, a good fast will set you up right. A 72 hour fast resets your immunity too
@flourbaby LOL Oy Vey!!! I love it and you can’t stay away because we miss you too much
@dvw I got an amazing price- we are basically paying 1/4th of what we would normally pay.
@at that lobster dinner sounds amazeballs!!!!
@northgeorgia I sometimes have the same delayed weight gain, it appears to take a few days for EFS sessions to settle. Easy on, easy off though – no worries.
Someone asked what EFS is and it means Epic face stuffing- very inelegant but so accurate
Have a good day everyone, and remember ” a river cuts through a rock not because of it’s power but because of it’s persistence. Stay persistent today- we will overcome.

    Day 15 MN/USA CD
Day 14 CD; Day 13 EFSD, Day12 NFD

A quick check in this morning before necessary errands and chores, then blood donation, then more chores but light ones. I am up a real 1.5 lbs and I need to stop that upward weight swing right now! FD800’s for tomorrow and Friday!

I think last check in was Friday and the weekend didn’t go as planned. I wasn’t feeling well Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and then DH came down with whatever I had: congestion, runny nose, cough, chills, etc. I didn’t have a temp but DH did. Very tired, but unfortunately it seemed to increase my appetite for comfort foods.
We wonder if we picked up this bug at DGD’s Dance recital the Friday before, where we were packed into an airless auditorium like sardines, and no one with masks to be seen. That’s how they roll down in Iowa. Both DH and I are fully vaccinated so we assume it wasn’t Covid, but who knows. I guess we are all bound to start spreading all the other nasty germs everyone has also avoided these last 15+ months.

Will catch up on posts this afternoon. Best of luck to all!

Day 15 – Rural Nebraska, USA – FD

Weigh-in this morning was 154.2. Yikes. The food/beer/wine consumption over the past ten days or so has been totally out of control, so it’s good to be on a FD again finally. I’d like to think it’ll be a case of easy on/easy off, but those were real calories I was consuming, so I’m doubtful. The good news is that I got at least 10K steps every day for 9 days, and two of them were 15K days…I was BUSY, LOL!

VBS went wonderfully, the family wedding last Friday was lovely, the zoo with DD and DGD on Saturday was lovely, then a Sunday spent entirely at home after we got home from morning church? GLORIOUS, lol!!! DD and DGD left yesterday with a flight at 8pm that would get them to Denver at 8:30pm their time, and then home just before midnight after their long drive. Instead? They didn’t even board until 8:45, and then the flight was delayed even longer by weather. They were stuck on the plane for several hours before they finally took off, and she didn’t land until 1am (2am my time). I can’t even imagine how tough that was with a 20-month old. She drove into her garage around 3:30am her time. Poor woman. It’ll be a long time before she tries traveling without her husband along to help, LOL!

Today, I have just one piano lesson to teach, a substitute organist to meet with, and then my second vaccination jab. My house is a war zone; hopefully it’ll be surprisingly easy and fast to restore to tidy.

@penz add-uh-RON-dack “RON” as in the man’s name.

@susan_dormi My trick for drinking water is that I buy iced tea (unsweetened) from a fast food place when I’m out running errands and then I save the cup, rinse it out, and fill it with ice and water. Somehow drinking out of a cup with a lid and a straw makes me LOVE drinking water. Give it to me in a regular glass? Nah… Perhaps that will help your interest. My favorite cups are the styrofoam cups because they don’t sweat so badly and are easier to grip.

@songbirdme I took on VBS about ten years ago when I couldn’t stand to see how poorly it was being run, LOL…I try to control how opinionated I show myself on this forum to be, but I have my moments, and really wanted to see it done well here. We started with only 23 kids the first year I took it over and moved it to mornings (instead of evenings…convenient for the helpers but awful for getting kids since they’re all busy with summer ball programs), and this year had our highest number ever with 48 kids. In a community of only 600, and summer school now competing with us, we’re delighted with that number, and the kids had a grand time!

@daffodil2010 Are the midge bites finally gone? That had to be awful, awful, awful!

@litprof SOOO amazing that you weigh the same as you did 24 years ago when you married; well, well done!!!

@flourbaby I love your posts, and your thoughts…they are funny and mindful and helpful, so thanks for sharing so well!

Okay, must get a move on. It’s so good to be back to normal, and to read everyone’s chatter!

    2nd Post:

@songbirdme – I was wondering where the fire was in relation to you. I’m so glad it’s blowing the toxins away from you! I hope that continues. And yes, the hot weather streak we have been having has been horrible. I finally got a walk in around my neighborhood yesterday, and the lawns and especially ditches and areas next to the streets are so dry and crisp! I hope no-one throws out a cigarette, or it would be tragic result. At least yesterday was drier air, and not so hot. I am so tired of 90+ (32.2 C). It’s exhausting. I feel so bad for those without air conditioning.

@daffodil2010 – Holding you in my thoughts….soon it will be in your rear view mirror and all will be well.

    Day 15. OMAD London

I’ve been waiting for some decent weather for ages and now it’s here I remember I don’t like it. It’s too hot!!!! Boohoo. I look vile in the summer. My face goes red and sweaty, and those flippin’ masks don’t help. And I feel really fed up. Woe is me. Fasting and being dry is fine, but I’m just really hacked off. Not too sure why. I could probably work it out if I tried to analyse it, but I liked lockdown cos it was straightforward and everybody was in the same situation – not really but it felt like it, and now it’s getting frantic again. Bleeeeeuuuurrrgh.

    Day 15 UK FD

Yesterday’s FD was fine – a strain in the evening, but solid! Today has had two visitors back to back and I’ve only eaten two tiny ice creams, total calories 208. I’m going to make a quick salad with some protein and claim another FD ahead of tomorrow’s birthday outing. I can’t go to the seaside and not eat chips!

Look forward to catching up with posts tomorrow

    Day 16 AUS FD800

I *may* have hit goal weight this morning; I was using some glitchy hotel gym scales, so hard to say for sure!

I think I’m going to revise my goal down a little, partly to give me some wiggle room in maintenance, and also because I’m feeling like I’m still carrying a little extra weight around the thighs (and face, grrrr) than I’d like.

So I’m going to say I’m still a few pounds from goal and reevaluate again when I get there.

    Onwards and downwards, friends!

    Day 16, NFD, Aus

Busy busy morning (which is good) so I am late to today’s party. Awesomely easy LFD yesterday so I am feeling back in the swing of things.

Good luck for tomorrow @daffodil2010 (tho I might be on early enough before your day 17 kicks off to wish you all the best twice).

I just read a post that for some reason my mind’s eye thought was from @EmmaTaylor but as I was reading it, I thought that so does not sound like @EmmaTaylor, more like someone else I know. Such a distinctive style. So I checked the handle and sure enough it was our dear friend @flourbaby! You have such a flair about you!! Scales don’t deserve a pronoun; some other descriptor (properly associated with scaly evil creatures) would be more apt.

Hang in there (the real)@EmmaTaylor. I quite liked the relatively short lockdown we had here last year and realised what a challenge it can be to return to ‘normal’.

Yay for you, @litprof. Maybe we need pronouns for two types of scales in our lives: the evil lying ones @flourbaby mentioned and the kinder, optimistic ones that lurk in hotel bathrooms.

    Day 16 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD
    2nd B2B2B

Great FD yesterday, just liquids until 7.30pm then had a small piece of chicken and Mediterranean vegetables. Feeling really good and confident and on top of things, and will only have liquid until around mid-afternoon, and then my OMAD will be splitzed chicken and veg broth, not bits……then nowt until Thursday night sometime.

I am so ready for this. 👍 Thanks for all the well wishes, they truly do help me ☺️

I had the pre-op Covid test yesterday, I haven’t heard back so I assume it was negative, now I have to isolate until tomorrow.

Which @EmmaTaylor, is easy to do, I agree that Lockdown had rules that everybody had to follow and it was actually alright for me. Like you, with things opening up, the rules are changing and that uncertainty is back about social situations…..hope you get back to your normal self soon.

Right, last day at work, but WFH, and akready I think I might have a problem as my laptop is refusing to go beyond the PIN screen. I have walked away from it, thrown it some Reiki, and told it to get charged and ready as I will be needing to use it soon. I really hope I don’t have to call IT about it as I cannot leave the house today. I will not stress.

Have a great hump day all. 🐪

    Day 16 UK NFD

Sounds like you’re all set to go @daffodil2010 so look forward to the update in a few days

I agree, even though we can do certain things now I’m not sure I want to , I suppose it’ll take time

Looking forward to enjoying the good weather today as hear Thunderstorms are on the way

    Happy Hump day x

    Day 15. U.K. FD 750

The 4:3 regime is suiting me really well and I’m enjoying it

Tonight’s dinner is salad with Mosely/Bailey book feta & mint savoury muffins! Can’t wait to see what that’s like!

I also agree with so many of you saying that You love waking up the day after a FD brimming with energy and feeling wonderful! Isn’t it great?!

Yesterday was a NFD (ZBC) for me and I do continue to skip breakfast as often as I can…. However yesterday I felt the neeed to eat some ice cream after dinner 🙄

@daffodil2010 – good luck with the op!

Re ops & fasting, When I had an op about four years ago, the nurses were amazed that I was still producing ketones after having eaten a post-operation lasagne and some random breakfast carbs the following day!!!! Just shows how well our bodies adapt to our fasting rituals, eh? YAY for us fasters !

@emma Taylor – sorry to hear this humid weather isn’t your cup of tea! At least one thing is guaranteed in the U.K. – it won’t last long! 😀😀

Good luck to everyone joining me on a fast day today.
