  • I listened to the audio book version where Mimi suggested doing a 2pm to 2 pm fast. I’ve been doing this for 3 weeks now and have lost 2 kgs. However, from what I’m reading now, it seems that only a 36 hour fast is effective. What is correct?
Also, my fat percentage is not budging. What causes loss of fat?
    Thanks

    Hi DF,

A 36 hour fast is effective, in the sense, that, the body uses the ketones as the source of energy. But, however, this stage is not always needed. I’ve been doing 16 hour fasts and have lost around 17 kgs till now.

In this kinda fasting, obviously both fat and muscle has their own loss. In order to minimize the muscle loss, try to hit the weights in the gym. Overall, do some good slow pace/hiit cardio. I just do 40 mins of avg pace walk every day.

Thanks Krishna. What time do you start and finish? Do you fast completely for 16 hours or do you have the 500/600 calories?
Fantastic to have lost so much. How long have you been doing the fasting? Deirdre Florence

I usually have 400 cals for lunch (@ 12.30 – 1 pm) and then another 50-100 cals for dinner @ 6pm. So, all my cals are under the 8 hour window and then rest of the 16 hours am in the fasted state. I started seriously in March, this year and till now have lost around 14 kgs. Rest of the weight I’ve lost before. But, note that, most of the non-fast days, I don’t eat my TDEE (1900 cals), I eat around 1000-1200 cals 🙂
