  • Hello everyone 🙂

Im on the first day of 5:2 and its my first fast day 🙂 I have to say its not been as bad as I thought 🙂

I have a question regarding calories on a normal day. I have used the calculator and it gives my BMR as 1899 and TDEE 2611. Am I right in thinking that my calorie allowance for normal days is the BMR figure of 1899?

    Thanks for your help

    Andrew xx

    Hi and welcome:

The standard is to eat your TDEE or less on your non diet days. Here is some information on TDEE: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/tdee-for-the-curious-or-why-dont-i-lose-weight-faster/

And here are some tips for newbies: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/warnings-to-newbies/

    Good Luck!

Just make sure that you have at least 500 calories on the days that you fast and at least 1500 on the other days.

Not “at least” 500 kcal on a fasting day – “maximum 500 kcal” is correct for fasting. You can go without intake (other than water) for a day and do no harm.

Keep your metabolism and energy up, cravings down.Consume more of fresh vegetables and fruits and avoid packaged food
