  • I don’t work out or do aerobics, but I walk my dogs for over 2 hours a day, a good steady speed, I always come back tired.
    I’m a 42 year old woman.
Am I moderate or very active??
Please can anyone advise, there’s 300 calories difference between the 2.

I have just had a look at the guidelines and I would say that you are lightly active as you incorporate exercise into your daily routine. If you look under ‘resources’ then BMI you will see the descriptions of the various activity levels.

Remember we over estimate how much exercise we take and under estimate how many calories we consume.

    Any help?

    Hi,

I’ve struggled with this when not actively partipating in sport. I found the following which puts the ‘active’ categories in the context of walking:

It supports Annette’s conclusion I’m afraid.

    Thank you for that.
