  • Hello, I’m relatively new to the Fast Diet, been trying it since the Horizon programme on diet styles lead me to believe that a 5:2 is the best one for me, having managed to put on 1.5 stone following Slimming World! The programme said have between 600 and 800 calories on two consequtive fast days and in 2 weeks I’ve lost 4.5 lb. Then I bought Michael and Mimi’s book and have read the entire thing this morning! So as I have already done a Horizon style fast day yesterday (700 calories) and I was aiming to do the same today, and start The Fast Diet (500 calories) from next week. However, popped in to see my parents and was served a breakfast bowl of vegetable, lentil and potato soup. How on earth do I calculate the calories? Or do I forget today as a fast day and try again tomorrow? I am aware that this will probable lead to a Snickers later on. Or do I forget about how many calories were in the soup and just not eat for the rest of the day (was at 341 calories for today before the soup and had set aside 200 for dinner tonight).
Any advice will be gratefully received.
    Many thanks,
    K.

Hi K, Vegetable soups are pretty low in calories – a decent sized bowl is usually between 150-200 cals so if you haven’t already succumbed to the Snickers you should be ok 🙂

Thank you. Managed to avoid the Snickers, and dinner!
    Kx.
