  • Dave..
Shame on the speedway…but a quick one at hospital makes a change

    Cakey Wakey..
A bit of competition with the Fitbit…I only do what I can do….lol..I have just hit 15,150 steps a lot for me today…

Which county do you live?…are you near me in East Yorkshire…

    Kay..
    A liquid only 😬…you are going for it..well done…😀

Eaten now and resting up…lol..all good

    Jean x

Jean- the walk sounds good, well done for keeping up! I hope that Steve’s knees are okay tomorrow.
Kay- well done, go for it!
Dave- glad that you don’t have to go back again to hospital with Denise! Stay strong when you cook tonight! Shame about the speedway for you…
Cakey- chocolate I can understand, but after eights don’t tempt me! Did you have the tuna sandwich again?
Lynne- hope the girls haven’t tempted you away with a meal out?! Hope tomorrow goes well for you, thinking of you…
    Typhoo- hope you’re okay.
Minols- I hope you’ve been the woman who doesn’t eat biscuits or sweets if you’ve been in with your son today?
Had soup tonight, it was good, but nearly takes me up to the carb limit, so only okay on a FD when I don’t need to eat anything else. The right food to have, miserable here again 🙁

Its pouring down so it was a good call to cancel the speedway.I had beans on toast so that`s about 450 calories. This is when i struggle after i have dined,so may have an orange latter.

Morning all! Woke up at 4am again, yuk! Did manage a little doze on the settee, but still…
Only shopping planned today- both boys off today, it won’t be quiet…
Hope you all have a good day- Lynne especially!

    Morning all

Lynn – you’ve probably left by now but hope work feels brilliant today.

    Typhoon – well done you!

Managed to keep off both biscuits and sweets…. Ate some crisps and choc of course but reasonably happy for a nfd.

The boy is off to shinty camp today so I’m in the office and hoping to get stuck in to some paperwork. I’ll probably come home for a salad at lunch though and say hello to the old dog.

Katy… We’re down to no more than 15mins so I can sympathise with Ellie. Our boy looks like he has a drunk back end – wobbling and weaving everywhere, but he’s as happy as anything following every sniff so while he’s not in pain it’s all good.

    Take care all.
    Mx

    Morning All..
    What a dark rainy day…

NFD for us today…a job pairing the motorbike helmets and sat nav today..wasn’t working quite right last week…

A batch bake of Yorkshire Pudds as I haven’t any left…Steve quite achy after his walk yesterday, legs a bit sore..it bit too far..I seem OK..

    Lynne…
Hope today goes well for you..a bit of a challenge when you have been away a bit…

    Hedgehog..
What an early start for you..Steve was up at 5am took some paracetamols, sat for 10 mins and came back to bed…

    Minols..
Hope the shinty keeps the boy busy..have a good office day..

Pseu, Kay, Dave, Cakey Wakey and DF…have a good day…

    Jean x

Shopping today, getting my neighbours order this very moment.Cant wait to sink my teeth into a seeded wholemeal cob with chicken on it. I hope to lose a pound or two this week, will be tricky though because the NHL playoffs start this week and I won’t be going to bed until 3am probably alternative days for the next 6 or 7 weeks.

    Afternoon everyone

First day, well 4 hours, done and all went well. Thanks everyone for the good wishes. One benefit is that it’s only a 9 minute walk, though looks like we’re relocating to the city centre early next year. An hour in and I was in a meeting giving my opinion, nice to still understand some of what’s happening 3 years on. Lots of seeing people for the first time, but that’ll easier as time goes on.

Yesterday’s FD didn’t happen. I was good until the evening, then stress got the better of me. Out with the girls for food today, so tomorrow looking like another FD attempt.

Dave, do you follow any particular NHL team? Reminds me of my husband watching world cup rugby at silly o’clock.

Jean, hope Steve has recovered from the walk yesterday and the helmet comms all working now.

Hedgehogs, do you ever wake up after dawn? Hope you had a good day with the boys around.

Minols, hope the boy enjoyed shinty club and you had a productive day in the office.

Typh00, 2lb is amazing, I’d be happy with just a 2lb gain at the moment.

CW, Hannah has my ‘broken’ fitbit. We don’t compare steps.

Kay, DF, Pseudo and anyone else I’ve missed, hope you are all alight.

Day off tomorrow and new back door/window being fitted so hopefully the kitchen will be out of bounds and help with the FD.

    Lynne x

    Lynne..
Sounds as if everything went well at work..ice broken..it will get easier..lovely a 9 min walk that’s amazing…

Steve’s feels much better now..it was a bit too far for both of us…some very fit people…Steve going to see specialist tomorrow hoping my new food regimen is working…

Helmet is a bit iffy very complicated to do..he was getting grumpy with it ..see how we go…

FD day tomorrow for us so we will keep you company..

    Dave..
Hope you enjoyed your lovely seeded bread and chicken..

    Jean x

Lynne i support the Toronto Maple Leafs so hope they have a good run but face a very good team in the opening round of playoffs.
Jean by the time i got to the shop they had sold out so disappointed, will try again on Friday.I have to wait for my son to finish work and go with me because we get a lot of shopping.Denise does not feel well.so she has gone to bed,not sure what to have now to eat.

Dave- hope that Denise feels better soon… Enjoy the sport on TV- think of me nearly getting up when you turn in!! Hope you think of something nice to have for dinner!
Lynne- glad your first day went well & that you were able to contribute! It’s bound to be a bit stressful so don’t be too hard with yourself & FDs at the moment…
Jean- I hope that Steve’s appt. goes well tomorrow & that nothing’s changed.
Minols- hope you had a productive day at work? Hope your son enjoyed his day as well. I had to google shinty, being ignorant, I didn’t know what it was! Is it very different to hockey?
Kay- hope that the back’s holding up still & you’ve not had any more disturbed nights?
For some strange reason, both the ‘boys’ decided it would be amusing to come & harass us when we went shopping, obviously nothing better to do! They were pretty silly & distracting, so forgot a couple of things & forgot to use the money off coupons!
Hope everyone else is okay… I’ll be fasting again tomorrow so there’ll be a few of us!

    Dave..
Hope Denise soon feels better… is she doing too much?…shame about your bread…☹️

    Hedgehog..
The boys winding you up..I did laugh..I think men/boys never grow up at times…hope you get a good nights sleep..Steve too..I couldn’t do with that, I would be grumpy…..are you fasting tomorrow?

    Jean x

Dave, hope Denise feels better tomorrow.

Jean, hope Steve’s appt goes ok tomorrow and nothing has changed.

Hedgehogs, that made me smile although glad it wasn’t me!

Lynne, so pleased that you had a positive day back today. Busy day at home tomorrow it seems. When are you next back in work? Thursday?

Minols, did you have a productive day?

We had a drive out to Launceston today just for a mooch around but apart from the castle grounds, not much there. Off to coast tomorrow as it’s supposed to be sunnier. All depends on what Ellie is like. Today she was a lot better.

Jumped on the scales this morning just for motivation which is good after a fluid fast!
Not eaten too bad today.Next fast is Thursday for me, so normal day tomorrow.

I tried driving today and it really aggravated my back. Lots of pain in my thigh like sharp electric shocks and at times really itchy. Really different to when I’ve had sciatica before. Ah well keep up with tablets and stretches and try not to get frustrated 🙄

Good luck to those fasting tomorrow, I think there are a couple of you.

    Typh00 how’s it’s going?

    K x

Turned into another fast day couldn’t be bothered cooking just for me,Denise came down and fell asleep,so 2 fast days in a row.

    Dave what a bonus!

Dave- well done! Hopefully just an off day for Denise…
Jean- yes, I’m fasting today. Let us know how Steve gets on.
Kay- patience, patience with the back… Enjoy at trip out today!
Lynne- are you at work again today? I know you said you were easing into it gradually, can’t remember how many days you were doing?
Minols- have a nice day with your son, whatever you do!
Weather grotty again today- it’s rained every day for the last week or more I think. Picking up my car today, yippee!
Hope everyone has a good day, & the hunger keeps at bay for the fasters… (was so tempted by some chocolate last night when my youngest got home from work after I’d got something for him; I took out the packet, held it for a little while, then looked at the carbs, which even though they were low, still felt a lot for even one square… & managed to put it back in the cupboard unwrapped!)

    Morning All..
A miserable day here drizzle again and dark….

Fasting today ..as going away tomorrow till late Saturday, staying in hotel so a bit trying on the food wise..a good breakfast and on the road all day coffee at lunch time, see on offer in the evening…still it’s only like a two day weekend..usually achy so will be early to bed and watch TV…

Hair colour this morning then off to hospital pm..hoping results are staying the same and not going up…

    Kay..
I feel for you sciatica is awful…take it steady and do what you can….have a good day out today and find some sun…

    Dave..
A double FD well done..it makes it easier if not cooking for others…hope Denise is feeling brighter..

    Hedgehog..
Picking your car up exciting..keep you busy and thoughts of food..I am afraid we had 4 pieces of plain chocolate last night each only off a very small bar..not like us really…we were supposed to be already fasting 😬..well done to putting yours back in the cupboard…

    Have a good day everyone..

    Jean x

Morning everyone, not been on for a bit. Grotty day here, though we did have some sunshine yesterday evening which was lovely to go running in (aside from the swarms of midges that were also out enjoying it. Got one in my eye and inhaled another one).

My third back-to-back today, ate just under 500 on Monday (high for me on a FD), only 100 yesterday – I don’t know what happened to yesterday, I felt like I blinked and it was 5pm, blinked again and it was midnight. Was a very manic day, but meant I didn’t really miss eating.

Hope all are well, and thumbs up to anyone on a FD. 😀

    Pseu..
Nice to hear from you…three FD’s on the trot don’t know how you do that..
Running and midges….midges a sign of good weather..😀

    Jean x

Pseudo- catching flies- bit of extra protein! Well done with your B2B FDs. How’s your car going?
Picked up the car, very pleased, took ages as the salesman was new in the job & needed help, we were sympathetic as our son’s been in the same position! Plus we gained as they’d forgotten to renew the MOT, so we get a voucher & means an extra 6 months… Less cubby hole space in it though so can’t fit everything in!
Did a sneaky weigh in- 1 pound off, plus measured & have lost 1/2″ all round, so that’s very good! Pretty hungry today but that gives me the motivation to keep going…

    Hedgehog…
Glad you are pleased with your car and with an extra MOT bonus..our car has less cubby holes too…

Good on the pound off and some inches moving hope it stays..😀..we are fine and not hungry yet..just going off to hospital….hair all done this morning so kept busy..

    Jean x

Denise is still under the weather, feeling cold all the time and an upset stomach.i was up early today 8-30 could not sleep,I had some bad news just after midnight,my mate who I worked with told me another of my friends who took early retirement the Dave day has me has got stomach cancer.Hope Steve does well at hospital.

    Hi all,

It’s been a slightly chilly and damp day here so far I’ve been out doing a little shop but no chocolate or haribos went into my basket.

Running seems very energetic I think the only time I run is if it’s time to eat 😎. In all seriousness If you can get out for a run more power to you.

    Just back from hospital..
His blood results are about the same, just a bit lower which is what we want….it’s gone down twice this last two appointments….going for a 4 month appointment instead of 3…specialist seems happy…he is going to send us a letter which our travel insurance may ask for..his different bloods levels..keeping fingers crossed it doesn’t go sky high in price…

Going ok here just having a coffee….before eggs and tomatoes for me tonight, Steve egg and beans…

    Jean x

    Hedgehog…how you doing?

All finished here now…early weigh in this week tomorrow..a 6 days!

    Dave…hope Denise is coming around…

    Jean x

Lamb tonight,Denise is still not right so she is just having liquids, fast day tomorrow and Denise is at the hospital for physio.Good news about Steve`s blood results

Jean- great news on Steve’s results! You must be very chuffed- shame about the travel insurance, it’s difficult when you’ve got ‘something to declare’. You’ve done well fasting today, I’d have wanted to celebrate!
Dave- hugs to Denise, hope she’s better soon, & up to her physio apt. tomorrow. Sorry about your friend too, not much of a retirement for him…
Typhoo- well done resisting the chocolate when you were shopping. Lots of Easter eggs still on offer our way, tempting…
I did try a bit of skipping this afternoon- got a rope for Christmas, hadn’t used it until today! I’m very bad at it, need practice! 🙁
No food for me, trying the liquid only again. My stomach’s playing up, had a little marmite in water earlier, maybe it was that- had to have some gaviscon 🙁

    Morning All..

Up early and getting on the road…13 clues to do off to Bristol and Newport, Wales area….

    Lynne…👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 A little wave from us….

Weigh in today, after 6 days and new scales…both the same as last week…quite pleased as a bad last weekend and scales went sky high…must be thoughtful even when away…we are back late Saturday…

    Pop by later…and catch up..

Have a good mass fast today……and a good eating day for NFDs

    Jean x

Morning all! Everybody up early with me today, cooking breakfast for the boys, had mine as well (Veggie bacon & eggs, lovely after the FD!) Also tried a tiny square of chocolate eldest got for his birthday- Green & Blacks dark salted caramel & it was fantastic. He loved it too & wanted to see if we did… Youngest takes his driving test this morning, fingers crossed…
Miserable weather here again- hope you have better weather for your treasure hunt, Jean, & a safe journey!
Lynne- all going okay with you?
    Dave- how’s Denise today?
Kay- hope you’re okay, are you doing any more FDs this week?
Minols- enjoy the last few days of the Easter holidays with your son…
Pseudo- hope your last B2B went well, & enjoy eating today!
Cakey- hope you’re not too busy with work, how’s your week been?
Typhoo- keep away from the chocolate!

    Morning everyone

FD yesterday didn’t happen, may try again today.

Dave, sad news about your friend, good thing we don’t know what the future holds. Hope physio for Denise goes well and she feels a bit brighter.

Jean, enjoy your few days away. Dull day so far, hope it brightens.

Hedgehogs, love having a new car, but soon messed up by the kids.

Pseudo, well done with the running. My goal for the summer.

Kay, hope the weather picks up and you can enjoy the beach.

Back door and window changed yesterday and decorator here today. Bec off to Welsh revision and I’m in work 10-2, so will try and resist eating until this evening. Only problem is people trying to persuade me to have a break and get some lunch.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Lynne x

    Morning all.

Very annoyed in the weather. In Swansea, where I live, it’s warm with blazing sunshine. Sunshine all the way along the motorway, and then the second I get to Bridgend, where I work, it’s freezing cold with black skies. Very unamused. I could feel my mood plummet the moment the sun disappeared.

I caved last night, but only late in the evening, so I don’t think it’s too much of a disaster. I had to go food shopping on the way home, and that’s always a recipe for disaster on a FD.

What do you guys eat for breakfast, particularly on the weekend? I don’t eat breakfast through the week, but on the weekend I struggle finding something tasty but not unhealthy. I think it’s partly I think it’s the weekend so I want a NICE breakfast rather than something boring.

Good morning all,up early two days in a row, just dropped Denise off at hospital for her physio, got to go back for her at 11-30,if she would have a mobile it would have been easier.Feeling hungry already so not a good sign.I will struggle to stay up until 3am in the morning for the hockey I think, but will try, it’s the first game.

Just been looking at healthy meals on BBC good food, virtually every meal is cheese or chorizo or soup all of which i cant stand, gone through lots of different meals and not a one i could eat.I did watch a video on another site which looked very good,i downloaded it to my phone and will give it a try soon.Denise has been in the gym, last time she did that was in the 60s.She did very well and they were pleased with her progress.

    Hi all.

Didn’t feel like I’d been off for more than yesterday but Reading back, I must have been.

Glad work is fitting in well, Lynn.

HH – love a new car and finding little storage places… OH says I’m really sad about pockets and their equivalent – just live them.

The boy has loved shinty training this week, coming home everyday covered in mud. HH – shinty is a bit like hockey with violence, complete with helmet and face guard! Tomorrow will be a quiet day for him, a bit of time in the office with me and then just hanging about, reading the dragon books and eating, I think before school again next week!

And then I will get started again properly!

    Mx

Yippe- youngest son has passed his driving test! He only had one minor, & the examiner said it was a really good drive, so he’s chuffed! Looked at one car this afternoon, but that was no good, so that’s the only downside…
Pseudo- do you like veggie bacon? I have the quorn ones with scrambled eggs, they’re quite low cal, or poached eggs & avocado? I was pretty addicted to peanut butter on toast before keto, have made some keto seed bread to try instead. I like chia seed porridge too, but I think I remember you weren’t too keen on that? What about making some carrot cake muffins otherwise, nice, but not too unhealthy! I made some keto cinnamon buns this week, they were lovely, but son didn’t think so!
Dave- glad that Denise did well with her physio, & hope your new recipe is good!
Minols- shinty sounds scary! But I guess if they’re wearing helmets…
Lynne- hope you managed to resist lunch! Are you doing much with the girls this weekend?
Jean- hope you’ve arrived safely & have a good weekend.
Kay- hope the back’s okay & you can get some walks in over the weekend.
Typhoo- are you fasting tomorrow? If so, I’ll be joining you!

It’s a pity you can’t post video or photos on here, it looks lovely the food, not having it yet though. I stayed strong, still not had any food, a miracle has occurred,I have got Denise to buy a mobile phone, not a smartphone, but still a phone. This morning I said I would pick her up from hospital at 11-30 am, so I set off at 11-15, got halfway there and my phone rang, I answered but nothing, this happened again 3 times,I knew it would be Denise but when I got there she was nowhere to be seen, I went back and she was there, I have Bluetooth in my car and a phone button on my steering wheel so I don’t have to see my phone or take hands off the wheel,I said I have had enough of this get a phone, I ordered one for her and she paid so it comes tomorrow.

Survived the FD so far with no food, Neil is cooking tea, which will be low so that will be it.

Dave, glad that Denise is making good progress.

Jean, hope you have already found a few of your clues. Have a good weekend. Oh and great newsabout Steves bloods.

Hedgehogs, well done to youngest passing his driving test. More car purusing!!

Lynne, glad that the return to work has gone well. Did you fast today or not?

Minols, shinty sounds brutal! But glad he enjoys it. Hope you have both enjoyed your quieter day together today.

Pseu, eggs do it for me! Fresh from the farm up the road! Scrambled, poached, fried! Combine with granary type bread or smoked salmon if doing low carb.
Might buy some quorn bacon now that HH has reminded me about it!

My back is much better again today. Typical as I now have appt at doctors next Tues to get a referral for nhs osteopath and physio.

Its been quite pleasant today, have done some pottering around in the garden. I want to get cracking with bedding plants and hanging baskets but its too early yet as Im not convinced we have seen the last of the cold weather!
More seeds planted for the window sill though!

    Hope everyone is ok x

HH, I haven’t tried the Quorn bacon, the look of it always puts me off, but I like all other Quorn products so I should probably give it a go – good idea! 😀

I’m very squeamish when it comes to eggs, eat them once in a blue moon so that’s a no go.

Is there a particular carrot cake muffin recipe you use? Cinnamon rolls sound yummy.

Forced myself to go running again this evening – and I managed to run the last seven minutes without stopping, and at a fair clip too. I was about to stop (and keel over) when the lady on my app said there was a minute left so even though I was on a steep hill where I usually walk I powered through. So pleased with myself, there’s no way I could have done that a few weeks back.

Kay, I’m definitely looking forward to getting back out the garden. Do you grow any veggies?

Just had a meal now,so lasted well. MinolsIf get him to play Ice Hockey.Hedgehogs will you be buying him a car now?If it was left to me i would turn off the heating but Denise is always cold so it will make me tired later tonight,if she goes to bed early it will go off.

Have any of you tried the new Breyers low cal ice cream? Very tempted, on half price in Tescos atm, bit steep otherwise.

It say per pint, so not ice cream, looks good though.

Pseu, we have carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, salad leaves, rocket, parsley and chillies growing from seed!!

Dave, hope you enjoy the game if you stay up for it.

More garden pottering in the garden tomorrow if weather is ok.

Succeeded FD today so tomorrow I can eat! For those fasting tomorrow, have a good one!

Pseudo- I’ll have a look for my usual carrot cake recipe, & the cinnamon rolls recipe. Not tried the icecream… Well done with the running! Is that as well as some of the other exercise classes you do? Do you grow anything yourself?
Dave- no, we won’t be buying a car for him, both the boys have had part time jobs, so earnt the money themselves. Oldest is good with money, youngest not very good, he needs to learn to save & budget better! But they both have worked hard. I know how Denise feels- I’m always cold, everyone else gets too hot, I have a snuggle blanket & hot water bottle!
Kay- great that you’re up to pottering in the garden- we usually grow potatoes, courgettes, spinach, lettuce, carrots & runner beans- some in a veg bed & some in pots. I’ve given up with tomatoes, can’t grow them! Enjoy your nonFD!
Jean- hope that you’re having a good time!
Minols- enjoy the last day of the holidays!
Is it just Typhoo & me fasting today?

Morning all. Grey and dreary today. Again.

Pretty sure it is ice cream since it says it is on their website – it’s just the cals is ‘per pot’ (pint) rather than the usual misleading ‘per scoop.’ I’ve ordered some so I’ll be giving it a go on Tuesday if it’s in stock.

Wow Kay, you’re on the ball! I don’t have a greenhouse or window space so not started growing anything yet. Are all yours growing inside? I’ve heard it’s not too early to grow potatoes, might do that if it’s sunny sometime.

HH, I had to stop going to the gym, I just couldn’t get to my classes in time because of the traffic, so cancelled my membership and run for about 3 hours a week instead (in 3 x 1 hour sessions). Shame, because I did enjoy body combat, but the stress of trying to get through rush hour traffic on a time limit just wasn’t worth it.
Last year I bought some veggie plants that were already grown and transplanted them into my garden, but I think I want to try from scratch this year. I built some planters last summer, so they are ready and waiting. 🙂 Do you grow your potatoes in a bag?

Apologies if this posts twice, I posted it fine, edited it and it disappeared. :S

Morning all – grey and bleak for the last proper day of the holidays. Going to get the boy’s bike serviced for a bikeability challenge on Sunday, and then I need to get mine out and start cycling again given the weather is supposed to get better next week?!

Usual plan, to keep it low today.

    Have a good one everyone.

    Mx

    Quiet on here today…

Dave – prefer mud to ice! None of us good when our feet slip from under us and the holiday in Feb was ruined when we tried ice skating and the OH dislocated his knee when he fell.

Glad to hear Denise succumbed to a mobile… Hate to be hostage to technology but really can’now imagine how I survived without one!

Minols- eek, I presumed it was skiing… mud at least is soft!
Dave- I love ice skating but put off it now after youngest went for the first time & cut his thumb badly when he fell- an operation, & 12 weeks physio!
Pseudo- we’ve grown potatoes in sacks & pots, they do very well! I’ve grown a few things from seed, haven’t started anything yet as it’s been too cold 🙁 Have you got any walks planned for the weekend?
Lynne- hope all the hope improvements are going okay, as well as work.
    Jean- we miss you!!
Typhoo- if you’re fasting, hope it’s going okay!
Well, car bought for son, he’s very pleased! It’s a sporty Vauxhall corsa- he’s the chav of the family! Pick it up on Monday as he’s away with the army cadets for the weekend.
FD going okay- been busy with the car & then going into town to get his money ready…

I have been busy today shopping for my neighbour and just odds and ends for us,then i went to pay his BT phone bill, next i went to the bank to pay some money in for him, took Heidi out twice and Denise once. She did very well at her physio and has been doing her exorcises in the house.I went out just now and bought some of that ice cream, not had it yet though.I did manage to stay up until 3am,pity my team got slaughtered 5-1,still 6 games to go if needed before the next round. Can have an early night tonight unless i start watching the hockey again.
