  • Hi,

I need to lose a lot of weight for my wedding. I tried the 5:2 and it has been very successful, i find that i am able to do it on more days so slowly have started doing 5:5. Is that a good or bad idea?

Is anyone doing the same? Comments much appreciated! 🙂

    Thanks

    Hi Yirrakuri:

5:2 means that two days a week you diet, and five days a week you don’t.

    What is 5:5?

    I mean 500 cal for 2 days (5:2). I am doing 500 cal for 5 days.
    In other words 2:5.
can be used interchangeably I guess… For me as a woman makes sense as I take the 5 as the 500.

Anyway should have been more clear 🙂

    Hi Yirrakuri:

This would be hard for most people, but if you can do it you will lose weight quite fast.

The less you eat, the more you lose.

    Good Luck!

PS The numbers in 5:2, 4:3, etc., refer to days, not calories.

    Hi Yirrakuri,

There’s a few posts in this same section of Different Approaches to IF, being the Fasting Test Match Diary – Building an Innings. https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/fasting-test-match-diary-building-an-innings/

One of the posters, Palletman is finishing a 7 day fast tonight. Another has done 5 or 6 days I think. I have enjoyed their diary type entries in the form of a cricket Test Match analogy as it’s very entertaining but also gives details on how they are feeling at day two, day five etc. What is a bit different is that they don’t eat anything on fast days and lose quite a bit of weight but fast less often. You may find it interesting to read about their observations. Most encouraging for me is that both contributors report that all days after the first fast day are easier than the first day so you might find it fits with your goals.

    Cheers, FGF
