  • I have a portion 100g of raw cauliflower which is, according to my calorie counting book, 29 calories. However 100g of boiled cauliflower is 36 calories.

My question is: does the same 29 calorie portion of raw cauliflower when steamed/boiled then become 36 calories OR is it that if you cook a lot of veg for a family then you weigh your cooked veg so you know your consumption?

I realise this might be quite a trivial question but those calories could be used elsewhere especially as I’ve just realised I’m on 464 calories on a fast day rather than the overly generous(?) 500!

I wouldn’t worry. Veg is low cal and good for you so enjoy!

    I know, I know…it’s trivial but I just wondered.

I think I might be a bit light headed today as it’s a fast day (my second) and seven calories is an extra cherry tomato!!!

Never underestimate the appeal of a cherry tomato 🙂

You’re right there! The one’s I find at the market these days are soooo sweet! Yum!
