  • Ok, I am not sure where to put this, so sorry if it is in the wrong place.

I chew gum a lot when I am at work. I do more because I am terrified of bad breath, particularly when I am not eating. I have read that gum can cause a ‘fake’ insulin response.

Has anyone found any alternatives to this? I guess I could just keep a toothbrush at work and clean my teeth regularly during the day, but wondered if anyone else had any ideas?

Have you tried Peppersmith chewing gum? It is sweetened with xylitol which apparently does not cause an insulin spike, in humans anyway. (See:http://www.marshallandtill.co.uk/html/toxic_foods.html)
You can buy it in Waitrose and in various places online. It is a bit pricy but also actively good for your teeth.
