  • I’ve been on my diet for a week. I’ve done my 2 fast days, the second one was hard because we had agreed to go to a friends for a drink. We saved our calories for some wine and that was incredibly hard, perhaps stupid, but we did it.
I’ve lost 4lbs and feel better. However the surprising and for me sensational result is that my blood pressure seems to have resumed a normal of 130/72 – before 150/90 Obviously I can’t take that as a permanent change but it is staggering for me. Anyone experienced such a result?

    Hiya Raikesend,

Yep, it’s one of the regularly mentioned health benefits. This exact thread pops up regularly – the last one was a couple of weeks ago and LOTS of people have exactly the same result. I think you can safely assume that if your BP has now normalised it will stay normalised for as long as you keep doing 5:2 (or 6:1 once you get to maintenence if you prefer).
