  • I’ve just started the 5:2 diet and wanted to make sure I am doing it right, as I see other people approaching it a little different.

On fasting days I have a 185 calorie breakfast at around 7:15am, I then just have water and herbal tea (no milk) for the rest of the day until around 7pm at which time I have a healthy dinner (mostly vegetables as I am vegan) of approximately 300 calories.

Is this approach ok? It seems most people are only doing one meal per day, so I am a bit confused! Am I leaving enough time between meals?

    Hi Kylie and welcome:

You are doing fine. There is no ‘time between meal’ requirement in 5:2. Many people just eat one meal, usually high in fat/protein in the evening because they find they are less hungry that way. You will understand after you do 5:2 awhile. This might help: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    Good Luck!
