Hi and welcome:
Here are some tips: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/warnings-to-newbies/
Good Luck!
Hi @lewbysmum …I, and probably most of the people on these forums, know all about being on ‘every diet under the sun’ and then some!!
Don’t think of this as a ‘diet’ – it’s more a completely new way of life. You’ve read the book, have you weighed yourself and taken your measurements (hips/waist/chest)? Both weight and measurements are useful as some weeks you may have ‘inch loss’ rather than ‘weight loss’.
If you haven’t already done so go to http://thefastdiet.co.uk/how-many-calories-on-a-non-fast-day/ and calculate your TDEE and BMR – there are explanations of these and a calculator there.
Apart from advising you to eat up to 500 cals on your fast days and eating WHAT you like but NOT HOW MUCH you like on non fast days, there are no ‘rules’, no ‘musts’ and ‘shoulds’, no real ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’, no ‘forbidden’ foods.
YOU make your own rules and you do this the way it works for you. There may be some trial and error in the first few weeks until you find the best way for you and it’s often a good idea to track your calories for the first few weeks until you get used to this way of eating.
There are some notes here which might help http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/some-notes-on-the-fast-diet-for-newbies/
and you’ll find lots of support, help and inspiration on these forums.
Good luck and just go for it!!
xx
