  • Hello everyone,

I’ve struggled with weight since adolescence and since 12 years old I haven’t been under 200lbs (14.2st). I’ve been up and down in my weight and over the last six months I’ve gained 35lbs – so as of today I’m weighing in at 273lbs (19.5st). My goal weight and healthy weight is 165lbs (11.7st).

Yesterday I went to the library and saw 5:2 on the shelf I had a quick look and thought I’d give it a try. It sounds easy enough. So today is my first fasting day. It’s now 12:30noon and I’m staaaaaaaaaaaaaaarving lol, but I feel determined today to fight the craving, so, so far so good. For breakfast I had 3 eggwhites, and spinach and had an apple a couple hrs later. I’m due for lunch soon but I want to wait until 1-1:30. I’m feeling positive about this diet and I hope to stick to it.

I don’t mind tracking calories so I’ll still do tracking of my calories on my non-fasting days.

Look forward to being here awhile! Feel free to send me words of encouragement, and any advice on how to handle fasting days.

It gets easier the longer you do it. Hang in there for a month to give it a genuine try. Avoid anything with sugar and carbs regardless of whether its a fast day or not. If you are addicted to sugar your body wont like it too much as you detox from its effects.

    Hang in there it works.
