I have always had trouble with the standard diet advice that I should weigh in once a week, because I found that often my weight just hasn’t changed, or even gone up despite trying harder with my diet and exercise. This is I am sure because my weight can vary by up to a kilo in any day, depending on hydration and other issues.
Seeing no result for effort, or even a reversal can be extremely discouraging! So for the last 8 months, I have been weighing in daily, and graphing my seven day average, which gives me a much better view of my body’s response to the food I eat and the activity levels I maintain. Doing so has allowed me to drop from 82kg to 73 at a steady rate since last August.
I am interested in other peoples thoughts on the idea of how often we should check our weight?
