Hi all, I wanted to make it ‘official’ that I am having my first fast day tomorrow. I have done all my (honest) measurements this morning ready for the start.
I was completely sold on the 5:2 way of life from the minute I saw Michael Moseley on Horizon, and started the plan last January. But at the time I was dealing with a newly diagnosed health condition and wasn’t in the right mind-set for fasting so only managed a few weeks before slipping back in to old habits. However, being in a much better place health-wise this year and having bought myself the book this week (and read it pretty much in full in the space of a day), I’m ready to get cracking properly this time!
My fast days will be Monday and Thursday. I’d like to shift about 20lb (9kg) and 4 inches from my waist. It is my birthday at the end of March, not a milestone or anything, but enough of a reason to want to arrange something fun and treat myself to a lovely outfit for so I’d love to be noticeably smaller by then.
I’m looking forward to my body feeling more settled and healthier!
Last time I embarked upon 5:2, I found the first day to be fine. The second week got a bit harder. My bad habit is wanting to ‘pick’ after dinner, and needing something sweet. So I am going to try herbal teas this time round and / or save some calories for a tiny treat!
If anyone wants to buddy up, I’d be really grateful! I think that would’ve really helped me last time!
