USA. Day FD
Good day, everyone! My workers are still here and will be here through next week. I do, however, have my kitchen back. Not having the ability to eat all day yesterday really was a benefit to me, Penz, and you are right. It is funny but it did wonders for my fasting. In fact, today I don’t even feel hungry, so I haven’t even thought of anything but seem to be not very hungry. Being busy has always been helpful in keeping me from food. I don’t even think about it.

Day 17, NFD, Aus
Checking in and wishing everyone a great weekend.
Today was going to be my weigh in day but I forgot and have taken onboard a gallon of coffee already. Don’t want that to inflate the figures!! Next week. I know 5:2 is doing me good and I feel that my flabby tummy is already slightly reduced. For me the scales are just a number (how I feel is more important), but it does help with motivation watching that number come down!
Day 17 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71.5 kg 👀
I had a very easy FD, but up half a kilo from Monday’s weight. Just a number, @penz, but some numbers are preferable to others! I WILL be on my best behaviour before my next FD on Sunday 🏹
@jaifaim, @excelsior12309 – thank you! 🦎
@stitchincarol – not sure what’s next, maybe the picture of the cat sitting on a roof at night. The neighbour who asked me to make her house numbers is being very picky. I showed her a bunch of pictures yesterday to give her an idea of her options, but she said she wants to think about it. And then I found out she’s actually a tenant, not the owner. So ideally she needs permission from the owner of the cottage. I don’t want any more drama from Judge Judy! 😳
FYI – Wordle fans – I got it in two today! 🤓
Success on FD800

I’m not sure how but I’m hoping this is the week that cracked the month for me.
I changed things up a little this week and the headache certainly didn’t help as I find when I come out of that debilitating state, all I want is carbs… but… I didn’t capitulate.
So what I did differently re the past three days… is… the first day of my headache I had a meal out with friends at lunchtime and I ate a lot of good food – not the lowest calorie meal but no sugar etc.. the last two days have been a good CD and a FD but both with a good meal at lunch, some fruit and a boiled egg at night. And I’m back in range ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s the weekend with lots on which is a bit strange for me in January but there is … so I will go mindfully into warrior mode. 🏹
@penz happy Friday even though you don’t have to work…😄
Oh @excelsior12309 your young relative has a fantastic adventure ahead of her!! Christchurch is so beautiful and perfect for outdoorsy people- as it all of NZ – it is exactly 20 years since I was there and it left a huge wonderful mark on me 🇳🇿 I vowed to go back and ski in NZ but it hasn’t happened yet.. it will happen though 🤩
@stitchincarol yes! I’m in a worldwide GF FB group and the things I’ve learned are truly amazing.. well done you on the trousers!! You know I love a clothes gauge over a scales gauge. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
@ccco enjoy the use of your kitchen now.. it all sounds very exciting!! I should start some work here but always seem to have other things to do.. 🤔
@merryapple hope you enjoyed your ride! Well done on getting back out on the bike and to such a beautiful place 💕💕 I don’t know who Martha is either but she sounds great 😂😂
@funshipfreddie well dont to you! I got wordle in 3 today.. back to it for 2025. Oooh a picky commission… that can be tricky… alrhough you will just make it and Judge Judy can’t blame you if it ends up on a wall 😂
Hi to everyone else out there!!! Hope you are all doing ok. 💕

I was a day ahead of myself yesterday…and I may have thrown you @brightonbelle . I’m with @stitchincarol in thinking it’s only a matter of time … the whoosh is coming ⭐️
Good NFD was had here and I now have a busy weekend with family and visitors and hopefully a hike and spin 🚲 thrown in.
Off out to collect some from the airport and a few more later this evening. 💕

I’m with you being baffled , I really hope it’s just a fluctuation but I’m having a weekend off and I’ll get weighed again on Monday and take stock and start again
Yes – I blindly follow @jaifaim
Not just the Vikings but Romans too , York really is a fabulous place @merry🍎
Looking forward to hearing about the planning for your trip @northgeorgia My son who’s in Spain just now is hoping to go to Colombia this Summer
Right must get on , I’d like to go for a walk but it is horribly cold and grey here , hoping for some improvement
Day 18 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
What a gorgeous day it was yesterday, perfect weather. I had lunch at ‘Indulge’, about 3 km away. Hadn’t been there for about 18 months, though I can’t think why. There’s a great view of the entire bay, & we saw a couple of dolphins playing in the distance 🐬 It’s going to be a scorcher today
@brightonbelle – you never told us the results of your 14 day FD800. But, maybe you don’t want to? Was it worth it, do you think? I’m sure I’d disappear if I did it 😳 Oh, & now I just saw your post saying you’re baffled, but you’re going to start again on Monday 💪
@jaifaim – re the mosaic number – that’s true! But, I’ll be the one who ends up putting it on the wall. And either Judy or one of her spies will most likely snap me breaking the ‘rules’ 🙄
@stitchincarol – I hope you found what you’re looking for 🏡
Have a good weekend everyone 🌤🌈
Day 19 country west Australia FD800 82.6 kgs 181.72 lbs
Joyous January is correct!! I am now starting to be able to wear some clothes that have been too tight for a long while.
Target for Joyous January is to lose 2 kgs.
Target for 2025 is to lose 20kgs.
Back on the wagon though have not been posting.
Good FD800 yesterday so following up with another today because the rest of the week is pretty hectic.
Upping the exercise, reducing the calories, losing some weight – who knew !!!
Back on the sauerkraut and fermented foods. Some years ago we had a lot of discussion on this thread about keffir, kombucha etc.
Looking at doing a FD500 before Friday if possible.
Forecasting a few days of 40ºC so should be doable.
Thoughts and prayers are with all those in the USA affected by the catastrophic bushfires.
Day 19- South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD
Well, my attempt to be a weekend warrior hasn’t been successful so far. I didn’t walk too far outside, as it was too hot. But I did clock up 11,000 steps after I went into one of my cleaning frenzies when I got home
@lilymartin – well done to you! 👏 🎯 and it’s always good to have company on the Sunday pocket list
@stitchincarol – enjoy my FD?! Never! 😅 I’ll enjoy playing cards later though. I love the grand piano bookshelf!
@northgeorgia – Uruguay, I knew it! 😅 A tiny country. I’ve been to Montevideo, where nearly half of the country’s population lives. On Sky New’s weather map, the temperature of Buenos Aires always appears right over where Uruguay would be. It must be so irritating for any Uruguayans watching.

Day 19 – USA/GA – ?
Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Doing a ZBC this morning. Since getting the first of the Shingles jab on Friday afternoon, my appetite hasn’t been as strong. The result is I accidentally did a CD yesterday and dropped a pound. So, it may end up something similar today. I need to look at what I have going on at work this week. Yes, the Chamber of Commerce banquets are starting up soon, but not until the end of the month. I think I will be fine, even with our shortened 4-day week, to fast a couple of times during the work week, which is so much easier. Still, if I can get something in today, that works for me, too!
Day 20 NZ FD 69.6kg
I had a follow up appt with the Hand Dr. She was surprised how good my hand was. Apparently people don’t do their rehab exs… I am now working on my grip. I’ve got to stretch and lengthen the tendon (split and stitched during surgery plus it has to travel over the T-plate) so I can close my fist. The other tendons have tightened up because of immobility too. I’m partly writing this detail in case anyone has an injury that involves tendons. You have to get them moving at the earliest possible time because they shorten and become stiff so very quickly…
We have had the most amazing looong weekend here.. starting with Luke Combs at Eden Park on Friday. He’s a Texas boy with a great voice. He played rugby at college and loves the All Blacks and hunting. Last year, he watched the NZ vs OZ rugby match and ended up hanging out with All Blacks as you do… then went hunting. Great concert!!
On Saturday we went to SailGP on the harbour which is like watching Dodgems at 70 kmph on the water… and headed into the downtown bars… On Sunday we went to Takapuna Beach for a dog walk and brunch, then watched the NFL playoffs, cricket and the second day of sailing at friends. Next I went to another friends, drank bubbles and rearranged his art collection and the furniture in his appt…
Today I’m in recovery mode😄
@stitchincarol Martha is Martha Stewart. The documentary about her was a revelation!
I like the idea of a swirl making the biscuits v picturesque!!
Your DH’s fair isle looks gorgeous!! As does he!! Could you not make the cuffs longer by adding in a white/green/white stripe sequence?? Or graft them back on if you add the white/green/stripes at the bottom of the arm knitting? Mind you, in the scheme of things, knitting two cuffs won’t take too long if you have left over wool!! Otherwise it’s a perfect fit and looks lovely and warm. I’m impressed!!
Love the grand piano music book case!! Only you could pull it off!!
@ccco I love that you are making your house perfect for you and watching the experts do the job!! Your house sounds quite large by our standards if you have four bathrooms!!
@penz I always imagine your thank god its Friday pizza and red wine evenings… do you still qualify for those!!
@funshipfreddie What a lovely gecko! How about doing a Chameleon that changes colour??!! They have similar toes from memory😃
Yoga is not for me… I am the wrong proportions – high waist, short body long legs and I just can’t do the moves. I would consider Pilates but I’m more interested in plying games like golf and bowls… once my hand comes right…
Interesting article about the ‘Australian’ diet which demonstrates a lack of dietary knowledge more than anything else. That’s why the term ‘balanced diet’ is used… Australian research on diets is fantastic at centres like:
Sydney Uni glycemicindex.com
Monash Uni monashfodmap.com
@brightonbelle Yes! Hang in there! There’s bound to be some internal reshuffling going on and then suddenly you’ll have that woosh!!!💪
@at I can’t imagine you’re not donning your snow shoes and are out walking the hills! Hope all is going well for you!!
@missybear I imagine you’re so busy looking for a new home plus on the big sort out and pack…
@northgeorgia I missed Uruguay when I travelled in SA. The beach looks gorgeous!!
The second jab may make you feel a wee bit crook… but you can at least arrange to time it when you’re not super busy🤞
@lilymartin Congrats on your numbers coming down and sounding sooo confident!!
I have one of those disgusting Kombucha scobies… I add it to soda water for a v refreshing mouth cleansing drink.
I’d love to learn how to make sauerkraut. Any recommendations??
40ºC👀 We’re sitting around the early 20s but a big noreasterly storm (WET) is going to land tomorrow so it’s gloomy out there.
@molij How was your biopsy result? I hope uneventful… I’m super impressed with your dedication to housecleaning and hope it bears fruit for you, both for sales and weight loss!!! Your house sounds so interesting.
@iona72 Have you got into the swing of things by now??
@excelsior12309 Your granddaughter will have great fun I’m sure!! What subjects is she studying? If she needs a contact in Auckland I’m happy to help out. The big thing about those long flights is to wear compression stockings, do leg exs and move inter flight and have a SR aspirin before you leave… But you will know that!!
@jaifaim Well done you!! Two💐💐 for losing the headache and having a woosh!!
I look forward to hosting you if you make it down here for a ski trip!! My old 180 skiis are in the garage. Sooo out of fashion now!! They’re long and thin and fast and probably unusable!!
My bike is going in for a service on Friday. I’ve discovered e-bikes are defo higher maintenance than a bike…
I just saw an interesting recipe for roasted cauliflower steaks with red pepper butter beans and thought of @flourbaby👋

Day 20, FD, Aus
Doing a 500 cal FD today. I have no energy and thought of a WFD was beyond me.
Yes, @merryapple – Fridays are still our red wine and pizza night. They are sacred in our household and it takes a LOT to get us to change our Friday night plans!
We saw the magicians Penn & Teller at the Sydney Opera House over the weekend. They put on an entertaining show and we had a lovely meal at a Japanese restaurant afterwards. Busy weekend wh is maybe why I feel lethargic today?
Day 20 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71.1 kg
Had a fairly easy FD, until the freshly-baked banana loaf appeared during our card game 😳 It smelled divine, I could’ve devoured every slice. But I white-knuckled it, & so I’m giving myself a medal today 🤪🥇
@merryapple – that was a loong post! You’ve been so busy?! Great to hear your hand is almost better. I’d never heard of Luke Combs. A chameleon that changes colour?! That sounds tricky 😅 I’ve actually been asked to make another gecko though. The banana loaf baker wants one to give to her daughter for her birthday. The daughter lives in Nelson, I think. Somewhere on the South Island anyway. But she wants it to be made from mostly mirror tiles, with just the toes & eyes made with coloured stones. So it should be quite easy.
Off to the Lemon Tree today to celebrate a neighbour’s birthday. And then of course, it’s Inauguration Day in the USA, so I’ll definitely be watching some of the coverage 🇺🇸🗽
12 more days of Joyous January. I hope everyone is on track 🎯

Humid, rainy, windy (60km/hr = 40 mi/hr with 100km gusts)
We’re used to it!! Haven’t left the house, though, to do any exercise… pathetic…!!!
I revived my sourdough bread bug over the last two days and am cooking bread now… A friend gave me a giant zucchini and I have made this into a chilled soup (could be heated too) with chicken stock, onions and tahini. I serve it with a plonk of yog in the middle, or might add some heat with cayenne pepper. I’m taking these to a friends for lunch and we can watch the Aussie Open Tennis on her SkyTV.
I have also ordered a box of summer fruit – the grower’s pick from Central Otago, the country’s best, which will turn up today. Apricots, cherries, nectarines, plums, peaches ❤️
America sounds very cold…
As does the UK…
Kia Kaha (Be Strong) everyone!!
Day 21 CD country west Australia 82.6 kgs
Planning to make my NFDs into CDs which is what I really need to do.
Hoping to lose 2.6 kgs in the next few weeks and get below 80 kgs – for the first time in some years 😲
@merry your summer box of fruit sounds fabulous. Our summer fruit and berries are delicious at present so I have to be vigilant not to overeat it.
My favourite dessert is warm stewed apricots with a scoop of fresh vanilla ice cream – yummy !!
@stitchincarol, we had a friend who was very fair skinned and she always wore the most beautiful broad brimmed hats everywhere. And she had a wonderful array of hats.
We all thought she wore them to protect herself from the sun but someone asked her one day and she replied that she only wore hats because she loved hats !!
Maybe you could start a trend….🤔
@northgeorgia, I’ll send you some of our warmth.
It was 41ºC here yesterday, 35ºC forecast today and back up to 39ºC Friday.
Someone, from somewhere in WA ,rang the radio station yesterday and said the mercury had just hit 51ºC where they were !! Now that is HOT !!
Day 21, NFD, Aus
More a feeling of post FD relief than smugness today. Down half a kilo on the scales. Less than I was hoping for, but as the figures are moving in the right direction, I’m not going to complain!
You DO deserve a medal, @funshipfreddie. The thought of banana bread is in no way as tempting as the smell of it straight from the oven. Will a fresh load be your commission fee for the next gecko?
I’m with you @lilymartin, being sensible on NFDs is always more difficult than completing a FD. How’s the weather in your part of the country? The news is predicting heatwaves for the top half of the country, so hope you’re south enough to be (relatively) cool.
The inauguration was being broadcast at 3am, so you’ll understand why I skipped it. But now I want to see Melania’s hat, @stitchincarol! I saw her ball gown for the first of three (three!!) balls. What a hectic schedule.
I hat wearing hats, but finally finally found one that fits my needs. It fits, has a broad brim, adjustable, breathable (with air vents around the crown) and a tie around the throat when it’s windy. The dogs now identify it with dog walking, so I’ll need to find something else to garden in. If that see that hat, they’ll assume we’re going somewhere exciting!
Oh yum @merryapple, I don’t eat enough fruit but your description of the fruit box will galvanise me into action next time I’m at the supermarket.
USA. Day 21. FD
Pocket list day 21 🗝️
The Americans must be hiding indoors trying to stay warm from this frigid weather! Whew! I am certainly getting my snow shoveling exercise. I went outside to shovel on Sunday night when the snow stopped because I knew that the temperature the next day was going to be brutal. I am glad I did that. It’s so cold here that I don’t want to leave my warm house, except for an emergency! 🤨
I rearrange my diet a little to add food that is supposed to help lower cholesterol. At the end of February, my doctor will check that. My medicine has been doubled in amount but doesn’t seem to work. My research gave me some ideas for food that helps lower cholesterol. I hope it works.
BrightonBelle, I don’t know where everyone is but maybe they are trying to stay warm, too!
Lilymartin, I like the idea of making NFDs into CDs. That sounds very reasonable.
I love sourdough bread but it is one of those foods that I can’t have in my house. I won’t be able to control my eating around it.
Have a great day, everyone!
Day 21 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽♀️ 🌾
155.7
Hello everyone – it sure is quiet here! Strange not to see a @funshipfreddie post this morning.
I’ve been busy since I woke up but taking some time now.
Well done to all of you who are facing the challenges and resisting. Smugness, relief – it’s all great 👏
I’ve pretty much managed to do the same over the past few busy days. The gang have now headed back to France and Luxembourg so normal life resumes.
@stitchincarol I love and wear hats – why not… life’s too short not to wear what you like 😄
@merryapple one day!! 🎿 🇳🇿 hope all goes well with your bike service and yes have often wondered how expensive the e-bikes are to maintain/service. I love toasted cauliflower steaks and often have them in work… will have to try your recipe. Where oh where is @flourbaby?? And all the others? 👀
Ok… I have to scoot now… Kia Kaha as @merry says!

Day 21 – USA/GA – ?
Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Arm is still a little sore from the jab and a bit of a dry cough from time to time (don’t know if this is from the jab or from some virus going around again). School cancelled today, but I have a very stressful grant due in a little over a month’s time that funds our program, and they threw a wrench into it we didn’t expect — so trying to figure out the metrics to report on that.
My blood pressure is high for some reason (hmmm, correlation?) and my sister-in-law decided to throw an impromptu birthday party next Sunday for my mom without a lot of communication. She made an invite last week. About 75 people say they plan to come. Then on Friday, I get a message — could I prepare and bring half a dozen things? I did get talked down from the ledge on that and it feels under control. But next Tuesday, I have my annual wellness check. I’m not looking forward to having that right in the middle of a sea of stress. There’s no telling where the numbers will be.
I rather doubt today will be a FD after all, but my appetite feels suppressed, and although I’ve not done a true OMAD during this time, it is very similar. So, I’ll likely have a CD today. Oh Uruguay, where are you? 🙂
Day 22 country west Australia CD 82.9 kgs
Come out ! come out ! wherever you are !!!
It seems I came back on the thread- and a lot of others disappeared.
Was it something I said ? Something I did ? Something I smelled like ? ( I think that’s a line from a movie ?? or an old saying )
anyway, would love to see some more people on this thread.
@funshipfreddie – are you OK? Have not heard from you for a few days.
So… I am having CDs instead of NFDs and being very sensible. Drinking gallons of water so I slosh when I walk, keeping to TDEE, increasing my exercise and…. Cruella de Scales is being vile and nasty by going UP 300 gms. But I refuse to be put off by her nastiness and am doubling down on my efforts.
I WILL get her to play nice !!!
@penz, the weather is as vile here as Cruella – extremely hot/heatwave and humid. I could never live in the tropics or even in Sydney in summer. The humidity is AWFUL.
I think I sweated off about 3 kgs yesterday even it doesn’t show !
Having to have 2 showers a day which we have never ever had to do before. We are really fortunate for sleeping though. We are almost 200 kms from the south coast but we get a sea breeze all the way from there called the Albany Doctor.
We all await the arrival of ‘ the doctor’ in the evening and there are only a handful of nights a year when it doesn’t come in and cool things down.
This week is a week of between 35ºC and 42ºC. Hot hot hot !
It is interesting to read the temperatures of @stitchincarol and other friends from the USA. Those cold temps simply seem unreal at present compared with what we are going through.
Lots of places up north coping with 45+ºC for almost 2 weeks……..🥵🥵🥵
Despite the kgs not behaving, I feel better, look better ( DH remarked ow toned I am looking !)and my clothes are fitting better so am very happy with that.
Interested to see what ‘ the Donald ‘ will do ! Maybe he’ll finally find Melania under that brim !!
Have a good day everyone.😊
Day 22 NZ NFD 🏃🏼♀️69.5kg
It’s beautiful today after a rainy, stormy day y’day – the air is clean and fresh and you can see for miles from the top of Mt Eden.
So great to have @penz and @lilymartin back posting so I’m not the only one from this part of the world!!!
@penz I love that your dogs identify a hat as a sign for a walk!!
@lilymartin Hang in there. You’ll pee Cruella out shortly!! Yes, I too love Vanilla icecream…
@northgeorgia We have a phrase for parties like this, “Please bring a plate” so everyone contributes… with something on it, of course!! Take care of yourself and share the load if you can…
@jaifaim I can feel you getting back into your routine and relaxing after your visitors!!! Good numbers💪
@stitchincarol -30*C and you’re going out and about??!!! Go you!!
@ccco The important number is the ratio of HDL:LDL. If you possibly can, avoid the statin drugs because of their side effects. They’re not dished out nearly as much as they used to be.
Both my numbers are high but the ratio is OK. I have oats every day to help reduce my cholesterol plus exercise. I do need to get the level checked…
@funshipfreddie Are you busy making a troupe of lizards, a flock, a school, a flotilla or a herd???🤣
Kia Kaha everyone!!!
Be Strong!!

156.5
Oops that was a typo yesterday @merryapple! It should have been 156.7… but the most important is that I’m trending down again.. but… every week it’s the same… bobbing up after the weekend.🙄 I am in a good frame of fasting mind… life is a little busy right now and difficult to plan but this is one thing I can control. And my exercise is back up and I’m thrilled with that. Got back on the bike yesterday after crazy season 🎄 and didn’t feel bad at all at all on the hills. Walking for an hour each day.
@merryapple yes missing all our old friends but so grateful we still have a strong core group here. Let’s keep it going and hopefully they will be back 🙏.
Ha ha @penz you’re dogs sound cute! Sounds so warm there for you all in Oz.
@northgeorgia sorry to hear you are having such a stressful time.
@lilymartin well done to you!!! Look and feel is the most importantly even though we report the numbers 👏
I need a good FD and a good FD800 today and tomorrow as I have another busy social weekend coming up. 😄♥️

Day 22 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD
I only woke up at 7 yesterday, the latest I’ve slept in so far this year; on the one day of the week I need to be out early. I only got home around 3 pm & then decided to finish varnishing the front door. Lots of talk of Covid here. One of our mosaic group says she’s recovered from it recently, but her coughing was making me nervous. It’s just about 1 year ago that I had a hiccup marathon & then came down with it. Two of the ladies in our mosaic group lost their husbands to Covid a few years ago.
@lilymartin – one day – I only missed posting for one day! 😅 I’m so glad you’ve got your mojo back & that you’re making progress 💪🎯
@stitchincarol – that hat was something else?! It caused quite a stir, & apparently was the first time a First Lady wore a hat to an inauguration since Hillary Clinton in ’93 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14305329/Melania-Trump-inauguration-hat-real-reason.html
All the talk of hats reminded me of a group of ladies I met during my first cruise ship contract in ’02/’03. They came into the ship’s casino most days, & they always wore red & purple, & belonged to the Red Hat Society. Inspired by the poem ‘Warning’ by Jenny Joseph, the first verse being:-
‘When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.’
https://redhatsociety.com/
@penz – thank you! I’m still polishing my halo 😇 😅
@merryapple – the jobs are piling up! I’ve got to make another gecko for a neighbour, an owl for one of my coffee shop regulars, & I started my cat picture – https://imgur.com/a/rIG88du All I got done yesterday was a border & a little bit of the sky. Believe it or not, that’s 4 hours’ work. Well, 4 hours sitting on my butt anyway. No-one seemed to be getting much done yesterday & there was a lot of chatting going on. It’s the first picture I’ve worked on, & I think it’s going to be challenging.
The number of squats you should be able to do for your age…

Oh gawwwwwd so sorry! Happy Himfay indeed 🙄. It’s an old Irish term for Wednesday, don’t you know 🇮🇪 – I jest of course! 😂😂😂😂
And apologies for the other typos… the phone mixed with rushing are a pest when it comes to posting… clearly! I feel the latest iOS really seems to be causing me more issues 🤔
I know you could not tell from my “phone-y” posts but I am a stickler for correct English in my job so I am cringing here… 🥴😂
Great to see you @funshipfreddie!
Day 22-No. VA USA-FD
Oooh it was not a pretty sight on the scale this morning. I have fallen off the wagon and started rolling away over the past week. Scrambling back on as fast as my old joints will allow!
@penz, I think your blowing of the hot air from oz to here may be working. Tomorrow, the morning temperature is supposed to be 20 degrees higher than today. So, instead of 10 degrees, it will be 30!
@lilymartin, it sounds as if you are doing well, and it is good to have you back!
@funshipfreddie, it sounds like you will soon need an agent to manage all your commissions!
@merryapple, I was glad to see that you have strengthened your hand and fingers through all your hard work. Once tendons contract, it is so hard to get them to loosen up.
@jaifaim, I am going to try to model my behavior after you, when it comes to eating. The biking part, however, is a no-go! With respect to wearing hats, I have a VERY big head and it is hard for me to find a comfortable hat, even knit ones feel snug, which I dislike, so I almost never wear them.
@stitchincarol, I am sympathetic to your freezing weather. Thank goodness your church is not too far from your house!
@northgeorgia, I hope you are feeling better after your shot. Sounds like you have a good deal of stress happening. I have been in the situation of people throwing a get-together that suddenly becomes a non-voluntary pot-luck dinner….annoying.
Well, I am beginning the day with determination! Strength to any fasters out there!
Day 22 – USA/GA – NFD
Weigh-in: 237 lbs. My road closed due to ice. My brother barely got home at 4:30 yesterday as his truck turned sideways three times. Three hours later, state patrol shut the road down and we saw some people abandon cars and walk home. So working from home a bit. Hoping I can make tomorrow a FD.

Yes I’m finding predictive text and alterations pretty annoying @jaifaim
Pleased to say my 2 year “journey “ at the dentist is complete 🎉 no appointments for 6 months
All of you that are having to cope with extreme weather – I feel for you , it’s just cold and grey here that I find my self drawn to booking trips away ✈️ roll on spring
I’m finding sticking to 800 cals relatively easy , the low carb but is the tricky bit , I’m trying but it’s not for me long term ,I’m still aiming for a good result by month end
Happy 🐫day See you tomorrow

Day 23 NZ FD 70kg 🏃🏼♀️⬆️
Really??? RESOLVE 💪 and JOY
I’ve been to hand physio. My grip is better by 5 degrees as is straightening my wee pinky… I just have to keep at it. I did some gardening and got the weedeater out y’day – the first time in 4+ months…
Now I’m off to drop my e-bike in for a service before the traffic builds up.
My plan today is to stick to 500 cals this evening and mentally close off the kitchen… I’m a wee bit prone to eating more than this in case you hadn’t noticed ☺️
@jaifaim A downward trend is what counts… Go you!! Maybe I should tail the use of arrows too!!!
@brightonbelle I tend to keep carbs to breakfast and lunch time only and focus on protein and vegetables at dinner time… That way my theory is you get energy from and use up the rise in blood sugars from carbs. Then in the evening it’s all about focusing on protein for over night repair and restoration. As a carnivore I get fat with the proteins. Also others have commented that lots of carbs in the evening make them feel hungrier the following day. 😇
This strategy may be helpful for you????
Of course it all turns to custard when I go out drinking and eating with friends… Then I have @funshipfreddie in my ear and @ stitchincarol’s RESOLVE😅
@excelsior12309 I’m glad to hear you’re back on the wagon! Declare it and move forward… I’m sure in several days you’ll be heading downhill again😁
I have lots of hats of all types – cowboy, 1970s style big floppy brim, pith helmet, Panama etc plus caps and bucket hats for the sun. I🩷them all but my problem is wearing them in the wind 💨
Gosh!! Freezing dry cold vs wet ice and snow… Who knew…

Remember muscle weighs more than fat @lilymartin – so if your clothes are fitting better and people are commenting on your toned body, you can safely throw Cruella de Scales out the window! And I hear you re the humidity. Canberra usually has a dry heat, but recently it’s been humid. I’ve lived in humid places before and I never acclimatised. Hate it!
@funshipfreddie, will your new cat painting use Boo-Boo as a model?
