  • Day 12, Australia, NFD

Hi Peeps, I think I had originally planned on a FD today but I did an16 hour fast yesterday on Sunday and then today Monday I did an 18 hour one so I decided I’d try this method out, for a bit anyway. Lady week I was gung ho into 36 hour fasts but I’m so so curious about different IF methods that I’m having a shake at this and trying to figure out what suits me and my lifestyle best. My scales are very hormonal and give whatever reading you want if you hop on and off enough times…I’m zero at present!
I’m new to IF so its fun, I hope it is for you too.

My best to you all. VP.

Morning all hope everyone had a good weekend. FD for me today so will have a snack at lunchtime and some stuffed mushrooms and salad tonight.

Plan to do a HIIT session this evening when I get home and tomorrow evening before I got out to dinner. I have decided to do a very low carb week to see if that gives me a push after my disappointing weigh in last Friday 🙂

    US Day 12 FD
I was not very good yesterday and am paying for it today. We had cake and ice cream for my sister-in law. My stomach is so sick today… I haven’t had this much sugar in weeks.
HannahWatto… I’m sorry that you are feeling so down. Are you still fasting your 2 days a week? If you are, then you are not losing the battle. You have made one significant change. Can you break your week into 3 sections, your fast days, your nfd’s and then the dreaded weekend’s. If you are in good control of fd’s and nfd’s then your weekends are the last thing you need to conquer. Don’t feel like a failure… it took us all years to develop the habits that we have and it will take us time to break them.
Nimee… sorry you have to leave. I hope that everything turns out well for you.
HollyLJ – LOL… I fell into two bowls of ice cream yesterday… you are not alone.
Northern Dawn.. thank you and you are right… we should pat ourselves on the back more often.

Well, another Monday… back to work.. ugh. Have a good day all.

Debbie and Holly you have motivated me thank you. Had a cery successful FD today and Debbie you are right – I am going to concentrate on sticking to my TDEE tomorrow and worry about the weekend when it comes around.Good luck everyone

    US, Day 12, FD….

We got home last night around 9 pm. I pulled out some very high fat goodies I had brought home from Madison WI. Pork/pistachio pate and Stilton, and sliced up some tomatoes that had been waiting patiently for our return. Simple, filling and delicious dinner. After several days of foodie heaven, I got on the scale this morning for the first time in a few days. No gain. Yesterday’s 14 mile bike ride around Lake Monona was a two hour HIT! I guess splitting a BLT over two meals – breakfast and lunch didn’t hurt either.

Back to fasting today. Onward and downward.

    Day 12 – USA (Illinois)

FD for me – will keep plenty busy with lots of stuff to take care of. No lazy days for this retired but still plenty busy woman! Might try a 36 hour liquid only. I will see how I feel late afternoon as that is when I usually get one “meal” on FD’s if at all.

Maui – your LCHF abbreviation was new to me, but that’s pretty much what I like doing on my NFD’s and even my one meal on my FD’s. Thanks for that. I will look into more recipes in that category. As much as I hate counting calories, this would be a good way to continue to eat. And may you make your goal weight for your 50th anniversary! Ours won’t be for a few more years, but I have my 50th high school reunion next month, and I am happy with my current weight loss for that! No, not hardly what I was about 130 in high school (165 this morning here) but still down 25 from when I started in mid-March!

    Have a great one, everyone!

Day 12 NJ USA NFD. Got through a lovely dinner party last night celebrating two friends who are moving away and found out that if I didn’t start on the appetizers it was easier just sat with a glass of ice water as far away from the appetizers as possible and had a lovely dinner – paella was mostly fish and a nice piece of flan. I had fasted all day then dinner and got up this morning with no damage done. Can’t fast today meeting out-of-town friends for dinner and then totally looking forward to my FD tomorrow. So this week it will be Tuesday and Thursday. I am learning to think about what I’m putting into my mouth instead of just Mindless snacking and it feels good. Have a good day everyone

    Atlanta, GA/ USA/ FD..

K-Lo nice on the 14 mile Bike Ride!! I need to get an outdoor activity going this fall. DebbieQ I’m curious … How long have you practiced IF, and what have been your results? I’m looking for inspiration where I can get it! LOL.

Day 12 for me and I’m feeling good! Gonna have a banana for a snack this A.M. then coffee, coffee, coffee. I have a sensible 210 calorie dinner waiting in the freezer. Any thoughts on Low calorie frozen meals. I’m watching the sodium intake, but it seems so much easier than planning fresh meals. Any thoughts on how to get out of this grab-n-go meal planning?

therealwil78… I first started the 5:2 on April 8 and joined the first of these challenges on May 1. Coda had been running all the challenges prior to this one. So.. for me from April 8 to date I have lost 40lbs. Now.. I have to say I’m a big girl and can easily stand to lose the same again.. but I am very happy with how this WOL has worked for me. I was desperate to find something. I blamed my weight on my hypothyroid… quitting smoking (years ago) and to be fair both of those did contribute to my weight gain… but I found that the heavier I got the more I ate. I tried everything but could never sustain it. This WOL has been a blessing for me. Over the course of the 5 months I have pretty consistently stuck to 5:2. I did 4:3 for a few weeks but for me I didn’t see much difference so went back to 5:2. I rarely eat anywhere near my TDEE because I don’t think I’d lose weight if I did. I still record everything I eat in MFP (the good the bad and the ugly of it) because it really does help keep me accountable. I weigh daily and although I see the scale go up and down as others do.. there has always been a consistent downward slope over the weeks. I will tell you that I quit eating packaged foods and pretty much only eat what I cook myself because unless you search well pre-packaged foods are hi in sodium and sugar. For the September challenge I am making a huge effort to reduce carbs and quit sugar except for naturally occurring like in fruit … of course I’m not always successful like my ice-cream fail yesterday.. but all in all I think I’m handling it okay. My best purchase was the spiralizer because I truly do enjoy the zucchini or yellow squash noodles with either chicken or shrimp so I truly don’t feel deprived on fast days. On nfd’s I eat to the calorie limit set by MFP. I will also admit (shamefully) that I have not done one iota of exercise during these past 5 months… BUT i have promised myself that I will begin walking again soon. So.. I guess the moral of this tale is to keep your nose to the grindstone… You might take a few detours along the way but if you keep finding your way back to the path you will get to where you want to be.

    Day 12|FD|Toronto
Happy Monday all. NFD yesterday with too large a roast pork portion and popcorn snacking pushing me right up to the TDEE.
    Stay well

    Day #12/USA/FD

I had a weekend of pretty much eating whatever I fancied. Not going to weigh until tomorrow, but not expecting any loss. I was quite active playing golf both Saturday and Sunday, but I’m sure not enough to offset the extra calories that I took in. Sigh…

    Back on track today……….Fast on!

Atlanta, Ga/USA FD: DebbieQ thanks for the inspiration! 40 lbs., wow! Thats amazing! Now I’m pumped! I use MFP too! It keeps me honest. I’m hoping to try some recipes soon. I’m just wary of getting the portions correct. I need to watch my NFDs as far as calorie intake and carbs and such. Thanks for the reply! I appreciate all the input and feedback.

    Day 12| Post Script
Not too bad scale reading after a weekend and 3 NFDs; 86.3 kilos. September 30th goal remains 85 kilos.

Day 12 UK FD I’m always so keen and motivated on Mondays but like a few others struggle over the weekend – and sometimes the weekend starts on Thursday ! I have good intentions and know what I need to be doing ,it’s the execution of the idea that’s difficult, but I’m pragmatic, I’m definitively in a better place both physically and mentally than when I started , and if it takes longer to get to my goal then that’s how it will be.

HollyLJ makes me smile thinking about your little one starting school, it really doesn’t seem that long ago but my youngest is off to uni in a few weeks and I’ll have no babies at home .

    Day 12/PA,USA/FD

And exhale: I do the same thing–secret eating. You’re not alone!

Fasting is definitely giving me strength that I didn’t have before, but I have a long way to go to be living the life I dream of living… one in which food doesn’t control me. When I’m fasting, I’m good. But once I start eating, I just don’t stop. But I can change, and I will. After I get back from vacation, of course.

    Positive thoughts to all!!!

Good – I found you all again! I went to old message board but then in catching up found this link.
    Day 7
Day 1 for me just back from beautiful Portugal holiday
    and 8 pounds heavier…
    Now have 30 to loose
This morning I started the 8 week blood sugar diet, so day 1 and I will be consuming 800 calories per day. Plan on light lunch approx 200 calories and will eat 600 calorie dinner.
Did my early morning walk, plus a short walk at lunch.
Busy getting back to ‘normal’ but look forward to routines again
Will try to catch up on last couple of days, but know that I have missed a lot.
Looking for a buddy that is doing the 8 week plan ??

Day #12 Mountain West/USA FD/ Walked 4 miles this morning.

I did fine at the birthday party Friday night but things went south starting Saturday night. Too many Nacho Cheese Doritos and home made ice cream. Two kinds: Fresh raspberry and chocolate. It was my undoing. And I continued it into Sunday. I’m just glad I don’t drink! How can a person gain 3 1/2 pounds in one day??????? It’s a good thing I’m home now. FD today for sure and probably tomorrow. Isn’t it only fair that if we can gain 3 1/2 pounds in one day we can surely lose 3 1/2 pounds in a day? It just doesn’t happen!!!! Why is it that I’m better off not eating anything at all????? If I start with junk food I just keep going way past the full mark!!!!!!! It doesn’t even taste good any more!!!!!! But I just keep eating!!! Why do I do that? I managed to maintain during 2 weeks in Hawaii but I fail miserably during a weekend with my daughter and grandchildren!!!!!!

Sorry about the rant. Hopefully I can pull myself together. Thanks for all your support and wisdom everyone.

LS – what is the blood sugar diet? 800 calories a day is about what I’m doing but what is the rest?

    Brazil are on 12 challenge

I was away last week, I went into the state, lots of food and drink, it is increasingly easy to keep track and today I am fasting for 36 hours.

    A hug to everyone!

Hi all UK day 12 Fast day

So far so good – 1 mug of hot water and lemon and 2 cups of coffee – failed on the water front though need to get back into the good habit I had started before holidays. Looking forward to my bone broth – it is a mental thing at the moment, I am not hungry but every now and then the mind is looking for something to eat. Have my bracelet on to remind me to stay strong – tomorrow is another day and if I want I can have anything I want!

Lamb turned out not too bad except the recipe advised to cover the lamb with the herb/garlic crust mixture but it meant the top was crispy but the bottom with all the juices was soggy – don’t like a soggy bottom ha ha! Served it with dauphinoise potatoes and brocolli hmmmmm! Maybe not quite up to restaurant standard but there were clean plates all round.

Enjoyed my yoga workshop and will sign up for a class – also decided I am going back to my maths class (my maths teacher from years ago would not believe it – think she gave up on me as a lost cause) to see if I can improve my result. If anything it will keep the little grey cells working. Also going make time and get back into the habit of doing a few push ups, planks and wood chopper exercises at night before bed. I had written I would try but decided not to try but do!

Debbie – how would you be fixed for keeping track for next month seeing Jfitzy is off galavanting lol. Someone has offered for November – need to check who but unless anyone else wants to step in? Any offers? You are doing a great job by the way and it is greatly appreciated by everyone. Give yourself a pat on the back!

Good job everyone some very positive vibes coming even though you may not have had the best of weekends – it will come!

Day 12: Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, UK: Fast Day. I had porridge (with no sugar) for breakfast, and nothing since.
Nightmare day at work…the van broke down and, altogether, had to hang around over FOUR hours for the RAC to come and take the thing away!
Luckilly I was within walking distance of the office, so collected another vehicle (mine) to complete the round, and they STILL hadn’t arrived! I hope I get paid the overtime (but not guaranteed, I’m afraid, this IS Royal Mail). Nearly three hours late home today.

    Day 12,USA NFD

    US Day 12 2nd Post

    LS – welcome back!
Coda – I’m sorry. I can’t do October… I knew I had commitments in October so was up for September. I hope someone else can do it!

Day 12/ FD ish/ Derby, UK

So Mondays are fast days for me, but I’m now on holiday and it hasn’t quite worked out that way. I’ve had a bowl of veg soup, 2 slices wholemeal bread (which turned up and I felt powerless to resist) and a chicken and prawn salad… And two rather delicious glasses of Rioja. And two coffees with cream. Hmmm.
Will try not to go too mad this week, but it’s soooo hard with my husband on full holiday, dessert after every meal and oodles of booze mode! Will fast at the weekend to mitigate my naughty week.

    Gozo, Malta

Finally I’m able to read all posts and relax in bed. Today I babysat my two grandsons all day long and went out to get pizza for my son and do the grocery shopping.

It was a fd for my husband and I today.

Thanks DebbieQ for everything. Yesterday I managed to separate trousers and jeans that fit me now and those which were too big for me. I found a lot of jeans which I haven’t worn for a long time that fit perfectly now.

Lael I’m 5 ft 4 in (163 cm) and my target is 64 kilos. Last Thursday I was 67.9 kilos. You must be truly skinny to weigh less than 60 kilos and 5 ft 7in.

    Good night everyone. Take care.

Day 12/ Minnesota, US/ NFD (but low calorie day)

From the article in the New York Times today: “The sugar industry paid scientists in the 1960’s to downplay the link between sugar and heart disease and promote saturated fat as the culprit……newly released historical documents show.”

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/13/well/eat/how-the-sugar-industry-shifted-blame-to-fat.html?action=click&contentCollection=Europe&module=Trending&version=Full&region=Marginalia&pgtype=article

I hope that link works, but other news agencies have picked up the story so a google search should get you to several articles about it. I really feel these unethical people have the tragic illnesses and deaths of many people on their hands.

Grammaspice the 8 week blood sugar diet was recently published by Dr Mosley. The focus is to loose weight very quickly, similar to what happens to patients after bariatric surgery, where after surgery it was noted that blood sugars dropped dramatically. This in an effort to reduce blood sugar levels – ultimately achieving ‘normal’ range, depending how the weight loss affects the A1C counts. The 800 calories you do eat Dr Mosley (who also wrote the fast diet, and this web site) suggests following the LC Mediterranean Diet (olive oils, some fruits, vegetables, fish, and some meats).
Typically on LCHF you don’t require to count calories, you just know what foods to include and what foods to reduce. In my case, as well as weight loss, I had to lower blood sugars – and typically the 2 go hand in hand. The Mediterranean diet is a little more palatable over the long haul than just low carb high fat, and the one I hope to eat after lowering blood sugars and my weight.
800 calories should not be a typical calorie count, if you do count calories. This is for 8 weeks only, so as to get counts in control. After the 8 weeks, or less if you meet your weight loss goal, you eat low carb mediterranean daily without having to be austere on the calorie counts.
    Hope this helps

Thank you LS. That is very helpful.

Australia Day 13 NFD good FD yesterday andI WILL stick to my TDEE today. Well done all – I love reading everyone’s posts. They are inspiring, entertaining and enlightening!

Day 12: Pacific NW USA, liquid only FD

Had a great weekend, stayed under TDEE both days. Slept well, walked a lot (4 miles yesterday). Started this morning feeling a little sluggish, though. If I didn’t have to go to work today I probably would have stayed in bed, but alas, I’m now feeling a little head achy. I’m drinking extra water and I have a fish stock broth for mid afternoon.

Northern – it was so great to read your advise that we should emphasize all the positive steps we’ve taken! Many of us must be “Type A” perfectionists on this challenge. And thanks for the Times article!

Lael – great way to double check the scale and revel in your progress! 👏

Holly – I, likewise, received a photo of my 3 year old g’son’s first day of preschool today. I had tears! And in a few weeks Brighton and I can tell you the “empty nest” brings it all back. So love these little years even though they seem like they will go on forever – they don’t!

K-lo – you’re showing us how this life style doesn’t have to make us give up any of the fun!

SongBird – you are so close and you will be even closer to your H.S. weight next month that everyone will be amazed!

Gramma – also, to add to what LS is saying from Dr M, it’s old habits and old brain/body chemistry that may contribute to our inconsistencies. You could read about all the details about what’s going on in Dr Fung’s book, but long story short and I couldn’t adequately quote all his research anyway, know that through this WOL your body chemistry can be re-set and you will shed the old habits. Don’t be too hard on yourself during this period of adjustment!

    DebbieQ

    Finally back from holidays!

As Ive missed almost 2 weeks, Im going to bail out of the September challenge and jump in with the October one if it happens.

    Good luck everyone 🙂

Sunshine Coast Aus Day 13: NFD but either 16:8 or 20:4, probably the former but will see how it pans out. Trying hard to get myself back on track. 104.3 kgs this morning. Had 2 small packets of Doritos chips yesterday while supervising my 3 grandsons who were at swimming lessons. Felt really uncomfortable and bloated after that so didn’t have dinner. Hadn’t had breakfast so probably well over 1000 cals but way under TDEE.
Choir practice was great last night. Tarantara coming on really well and so are the tunes from Fidler. It is a great joy, no responsibilities and time spent with like minded people.
One of the great things about little ones when they come out of plaster is that they give everything a go and usually get great results as a consequence. My son fell out of the window of our car when I was standing right there, somewhat distracted by someone else. It happened so quickly , falling head first into bitumen. He would have been about 2. I spent the next 2 days watching his pupils to make sure they were reacting to light etc and felt so guilty. Kids are amazingly resilient and he was fortunate enough to come out unscathed apart from gravel rash and a traumatised mother who probably smothered him for the next little while. Kids will be kids🙃😱😉.
Better get on with the never ending housework, which will result in some incidental exercise before I go to my chat with the psychologist. Feeling a lot better about things now OH is home, as he’s been watching MIL whilst I have been socialising. Real stress buster.
    Positive thoughts to everyone. 😘💞

    NFD 13 NZ

Great FD yesterday. Just finished a HIIT session this morning so going home to break my fast, not sure what with yet but tonight’s meal is vegetarian lentil and mushroom goulash with cauli rice…hanging out for it since last night!

DebbieQ your advice to Hannah is just what I needed to hear. I have the FD sorted pretty easily really and my weekday NFDs are pretty much spot on but those weekends….grrrr! I’m just going to concentrate on cementing my week and look to improve the weekends one day at a time. Your advice wasn’t directed at me but it resonates so Thanks😊
I have a wee giggle to myself thinking of the old Grandma on Downton Abbey right at the beginning when she was genuinely baffled and asks the young lawyer at the dinner table ‘what is a week end?’ Makes me think that I need to start seeing everyday a bit more the same and remove the psychological permission to relax too far simply because the calendar says ‘week end’ it doesn’t say ‘way of life end!’

Therealwil78- my approach to FD, (as I can’t bear the thought of cooking when I’m at my weakest point in a FD in the evening) is to prep my FD evening meal while I make dinner the night before. Typically I have soaked oats and chia with fruit and a Greek yoghurt, don’t know why but it really works for me
As for LCHF I would recommend reading ‘What the fat?’ By Prof Schoefield and Dr Zinn? He is a public health professor at Auckland University and she is a PhD qualified nutritionist both from New Zealand. It’s a fabulous resource which has all the science behind the LCHF wol as well as practical management of the approach and it’s topped off with a full section of awesome recipes by a Michelin trained chef…but planned simple for us basic cooks.
They also have a complementary website with constantly updated recipes and research.

Have a lovely day all, I’m home to break my fast and tidy up the garden in the mild bit of Spring sunshine that’s peeking out at me today

Back2thefuture. Thanks for the info and words of encouragement.

    Day 13 Australia FD
Planning a 36 hour water fast today. Haven’t done one for a few weeks so feeling a little apprehensive, but am determined to complete it.

    Day 12, Québec

Hi there, I’m back from camping and eating chips with wine at the end of the afternoon lol.

I was a bit afraid to go on the scale but it’s not too bad. I only took about one lb. My weight should be back to normal in a few days, especially that I had a FD today.

I didn’t read the posts for a long time but I hope that everybody is doing just fine.

    Bye bye x

Aussie day 13 it’s finally coming together FD’s going well sticking to two a week suits me my DR suggested the Mediterranean Diet on NFD’s love fish and legumes fresh fruit and veg what more can you ask for. stick with it everyone.

    Croatia, Day 13, NFD
    Weight: 78.2 Kg

Day 13 USA FD. Did well as a FD until the evening. I am struggling in the evenings with a strong desire to snack. Stay strong everyone, especially me.

Day 13 / Australian in Asia / FD

    Hi all

I am back from the most relaxing weekend ever. Eating was pretty good, drinking another story (it’s just so easy to drink wine with a friend by the pool!)

I have lots to catch up on and will go back and read everyone’s posts tonight. Hope you have all been doing well and not finding it too hard.

I’m glad I logged in today because I was really feeling like I wanted to chuck it all in. Then I logged in and saw so many new posts and thought “rubbish. It’s one day. Look at all these people you committed a whole month to”. I have struggled a bit lately but no, no matter how many times I fall off this horse I am going to chase it, saddle it, and get straight back on.

Ok, chat to you all later, keep being awesome!

    Elphaba

    Day 13 Italy -NFD
I weigh 74.7kg. I have put another kilo on, i’m not sure how much is due to the fact that i’m still getting over a horrible tummy bug or the fact that i haven’t managed to keep to a Fast Day this week. I start off ok but start to feel quite unwell after a bit. On thursday i thought it was due to the coffee but, yesterday i’m not sure what went wrong. We’ll see this week i’m determined to get back in the swing of things i might try tomorrow when my OH is off work, so he can catch me if i faint!!
Have a good Day everyone, we’ve got to get ready for school!

    Day 13 – Switzerland – NFD
After a really dozy FD yesterday, I managed to engineer a really early dinner (4.30pm!) then a hot bath and bed by 9pm. Must’ve done the trick as I’m feeling much better today. Good luck to everyone tackling a NFD today – stay strong!!

    Day 12/uk/NFD

Made a large bowel of salad, bell peper bag of mixed salad leaves. Red cabbage. cucumber .red onion .spring onion .carrots, beetroot. Tomatoes.cashew nuts. divided this into some food containers. And just added a tin of sardines in tomato sauce with one. And polish turkey ham with another. Very nice and worked out well, better than grabbing food and running. Will defo make more salad boxes in the future. Very filing and im sure low in calories.

    Day 13, DE, IF 23/1.

    Day 13, Australia, NFD

Massive fail from yesterday’s post to now. Ate and drank all the wrong stuff…..oh dang!

Just had a healthy homemade soup at 4pm so it’s now a 20 hour fast for me.

DebbieQ thanks for your post, it was just what I needed to read today, you have done so well, congratulations. Do you eat on your fast days?
I love to read other’s journeys.

Day 13 UK NFD Feeling happy that I did my first “good” fast day in ages- no snacking or just going over my goal thinking 20 odd cals won’t make a difference and this is how I want every FD to be ! aiming to be good today fasting on Wednesday I’m then off to Copenhagen for a few days so I’ll be mindful but want to try local specialities so giving myself a couple of days off , I’ll be back late Saturday and we are about half way through so I’m going to get serious and try and get a result in September .

DebbieQ/Coda if I could I’d volunteer for running the October challenge but I’ve got my Mum visiting for a week and I have a couple of weekends away so I’m afraid I can’t Hope someone steps up x

    Day #13/USA/NFD

I had a successful FD yesterday, although I did have to add a bit of extra protein that I hadn’t planned on. I was just too hungry last evening and knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep. No worries as the scale is slowly creeping down. On a FD when I do my boot camp workout, I don’t worry about adding a few extra protein calories if I feel the need.

I’ll have a challenge this morning as I have a breakfast meeting to go to. I try to stay quite low carb, so I’m planning on just an omelet with no toast or potatoes. Spaghetti squash & meatballs planned for dinner tonight.

    Have a great day!

    London Day 13 NFD

Not a good day. Only managed a 24h fast yesterday. A stressful evening (long story!), so ended up having home-made chicken and veg stir-fry and rice for dinner (regretted it immediately!!!). I haven’t had a chance to exercise either – visitors and other chores took over the last 3 days. Lack of exercise is adding to the stress! I feel bloated and sluggish today. More visitors tonight so no gym today either 🙁

Planning my next 36h fast on Thu (Wed). I’m determined to stick to it and somehow fit in a TRX class after work.

Wish me luck! Have a good day everyone 🙂

    Boiling London day 13 🙂

Good HIIT session last night and a good FD. Today is NFD for me and I did my swimming first thing this morning as I am out to dinner tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good week

    US, Day 13, NFD.

I had a good FD yesterday. I was so busy at work that I barely noticed anything else. For dinner, I had spaghetti squash with a heaping tablespoon of fresh Ricotta cheese and some grated Parmesan. Yummy.

Tonight’s dinner. Lamb burgers with feta cheese…and the other half of the spaghetti squash.

I hope all of you have seen the latest news about sugar…how the sugar industry PAID OFF Harvard scientists 50 years ago to fake data against saturated fats and for sugar. Disgusting. How many generations of people have been hurt?

    Day 13 USA (Illinois)

NFD today for me. Just finishing up a 36 hour liquid only (not even any broth… how did I do that?), but no exercise. After that potluck meeting of Monday where the food and wine flowed freely, I was glad to have the FD.

I’ve been busy with odds and ends to keep my mind going. Bothered by some sciatica the last couple days, so unfortunately not keen on doing much exercise. Usually some stretches and bending the right way gets rid of that over a few days. Hopefully this will also go away.

It’s so fun to read up on all of your successes and even the fails. This blog makes me feel like we are all so human, subject to our frailties and foibles. Hugs to everyone.
