  • Day 16
    2nd post

Going to be a long day at home on my own at the computer today so might be checking in a bit to keep me on track! Can’t listen to the British news anymore so going to stir the mind and soul with music.

@snowflake56 – good to have you here, it feels like a Saturday here, happily most seem to be in w’end mode already, we are a little out of step! Good luck and isn’t it lovely catching up with old friends.

    Day 16
    2nd post

@dingping it’s always interesting when old friends refer to things you did together but they remembered it totally differently, it was really funny. Forgot to prepare for today’s FD, no soup at hand, had oneslice of home made bread with butter and cheese. Tonight I’ll have yogurt with fruit. I’m stuck at my chair atm, the cat is having on my lower legs. After reading other posts I listened on youtube to a talk with Dan Buettner about The Secrtets of Happiness and Longevity, apart from other things, it seems the place where you live is important to be happy. Never heard about that, perhaps you could take a look at it. Here’s the link, I hope the link works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXh1epgvfIw

Day 16. NFD after the epic cauliflower face stuffing yesterday.
That cat burglar joke really made me laugh. Hahaha. Hilarious. But I DID have to get up at 7 today, and normally DH and I lig about in bed until about noon, drinking coffee, chatting, putting the world to rights, doing the usual marital stuff (tmi…). So it was a shock to the system. And I don’t want the job. It’s only admin but they need somebody way more committed than me. I’ve been doing my own thing for 18 months, so the last thing I want is proper responsibility. So I’ve said no thanks. And I feel absolutely great, so that speaks volumes. But so sweet of people to wish me well. Much appreciated. H

    Day 16 USA (Illinois) NFD

Doing pretty well. Got some pretty good exercises at the physical therapist yesterday. Hoping to stave off any worse symptoms of my degenerated disks on my lower back. I’ve started getting tingling down my legs a lot and even some pretty scary numbness and weakness, so sure hope this helps.

Silver Sneakers and Children’s Museum work this morning.

    Onward and downward.

Day 16 North Canton OH Healthy eating Day

I have a weigh in tomorrow, I stepped on the scale today and i’m very happy with the trend.
Thank God Its Friday. I have data submission deadline to meet today and still have a few cases to abstract, I will catch up on posts over the weekend.

Happy Friday and keep the faith, one step at a time

Day 16: Gloucestershire, UK: NFD (as ever)
Dull and gloomy inside and out.

    Day 16
    3rd post

Popping back keeping myself occupied despite a day home alone.
What patience you have @snowflake56 in not disturbing your cat! You tube link worked, interesting guy not heard of him or read his books, have you looked at the blue zone meal app?
Agree with a lot of what he says but then it’s what we all know deep down – happiness will follow if we feel connected with people, finding purpose in your life, enjoying your environment, being physically active and sensible in what we eat. I know my environment affects me immensely, I worked doing a lovely job helping people which was very fulfilling but the building I worked in was very depressing and the room I worked in had little natural light and we worked under horrible strip lighting – it really got me down to the point I didn’t want to work there anymore. I feel that about London now, it’s not my natural environment so hopefully an escape to a calmer place will help in rebalancing things.
Interesting yes what people remember about the same event almost as if you were at two different things!

@emma-taylor – sounds like you made the right decision, why would you want to give up your long lie in’s putting the world to right with OH if you don’t have to.

@songbirdme – hope the physio works, keep it up.

Heading back to some more work after a cuppa, hope all going well your end @snowflake56.

    Ta x

    Day 16 Belfast NFD

Off out for a meal and a few drinks tonight. I must try to be mindful.

@EmmaTaylor – I would have to say you have a very relaxed life so the job definitely wouldn’t fit in! When I retired, after 2 years I decided I wasn’t going to teach any more and I gave away the hard copies of most of my work. Now I have been asked to tutor a friend’s daughter, so I shall have to trawl through my hard drive for resources. 🤭
Thank you for that link @ Snowflake. I look forward to listening to it.

Have a good weekend one and all.

    Day 16, Surrey (UK), NFD

Just checking in to update my weekly tracker. Pleased that weight has stabilised at 151lb despite too many crisps and chocolates earlier this week; it would seem things have been put right by a sensible 800cal FD yesterday. Thank goodness for this WOE!

@kerryn73 – glad you are enjoying your parkruns too! I’m planning to do another one tomorrow morning. Mojo, I’m coming to get you, ready or not!

Thanks for all the supportive comments re: coping with anxiety and dealing with my mindless bingeing. I really appreciate them and I’m pleased if I can help by sharing my stories. @flourbaby – the choccies and crisps are now in OH’s cupboard and heading for his tummy not mine! He is one of those lucky people who is naturally slim and can eat whatever he likes!

Enjoy your weekend everyone. For those in the northern hemisphere, try to get out and enjoy a little natural light while you can!

    Day 16
    3rd post

@dingping hearing it all together really made sense to me, most of the things are no brainers but I never thought relating happiness to the place you live. Work can be very toxic, I always left the workplace if unhappy. Easy to do as a nurse in the Netherlands, you can work anywhere. I looked at the recipes on the site, don’t know how to do apps. Lots of chickpea recipes, yummie, could eat them every day. FD went well, just had my yogurt, heading upstairs with a book. After 2 days away the cat needs a lot of attention, he deserves to have it. Sleep well later on! x

@debster251 the connection between the things in your life seems to make a difference, as we want to grow very old, every bit of knowledge helps.

@emma-taylor why give up those lovely morning rituals!

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Day 16 – UK – FD
    Day 15 – NFD 😈

Yesterday was a non stop eating day – not sure why – just kept eating and eating……and it involved lots of 🍷too………….😈😈

So today I definitely felt the need to press my RESET button – the strangest thing is that I have not felt hungry at all……….

Did a lovely walk with my walking group this morning then enjoyed a great facial this afternoon. I have been baking some gluten free cakes late this afternoon for the cafe that’s running at my local parish centre along with a craft fair – carrot and orange one and a banana one – ate half a small banana that was left over after I had weighed what I needed for the cake. Today I have drunk lots of water and 2 cups of tea with skimmed milk so far – I suspect that will be it for today apart from more water…..

@rainbowsmile – still no kitchen – have you been doing 800cals MFD for 8 weeks???? what was the outcome of that? did you find it hard? I admire your strength of character. What are your plans for CFD?
@lilymartin – sounds like a lot going on with regards to elderly parents/in laws – courage! And I totally agree with you about this group being here to catch us when we fall and cheer us on daily and I also hope that this forum doesn’t ever stop. It helped me to reach maintenance 2 years ago next month and has definitely kept me there since – I LOVE THIS WOL
@emma-taylor – welcome back from Venice
@matpi – hope your dog is doing OK
@debster251 – hope you had safe travels to Dublin today and have a fab birthday on Sunday 💐
@ciren2 – good to hear that you are still running alongside that wagon
@missybear – I’m with you in still maintaining and keeping vigilant – so important I find…..
@cornish-jane – thank you for sharing those key points from your recent reads about weight control
@snowflake56 – I’m in awe of your self control when faced with such gorgeous food when with your friends……BTW I enjoyed that Dan Buettner link about The Secrets of Happiness and Longevity you posted

    Day 16 Minnesota, USA NFD
    Day 15 CD

3:15 pm: Granddaughters about to arrive this afternoon, 6 and 2 years old, so no FD today. I’ll have them until this evening and I prefer to eat supper with them and not fast. Snow storm is expected to start in about 2 hours. Not a lot for my area but always messy when it hits at 5PM rush hour.

Yesterday was a good controlled day, under 1150. This morning the scale was lower than ever, but I feel like it must have been a mistake. Before I count it as a true weight, I’ll see what tomorrow brings. I may have been dehydrated.

Later tonight while all of you are sleeping soundly, I will try to get caught up on posts from the last two days.

    Best to everyone.

    Day 16 UK unexpected FD

Yesterday was a weird day, not a successful FD at all. I went for OMAD FD but then couldn’t stop eating…. I was feeling pretty yuck and my body just craved food At least what I was eating was good stuff – cauliflower, spinach, tomatoes, eggs, nuts, fruit, cheese – but i really couldn’t stop.

Strangely today I’ve not eaten at all! After spiking a temperature in the night I let myself sleep until lunchtime and rest my way through the day, listening to audio books and reading the paper online. And suddenly realised it’s 11pm and I’ve not really got up!

Going to have a banana or similar with my evening meds and call it a day, going back to bed again 🙂 Great to get a proper FD in this week, even if it was largely thru sleeping. And so helpful to be reminded that if I eat lots of the good stuff (protein, veg, fruit) it makes the following day’s fasting so much easier.

Another reminder that it’s the type of foods we eat as well as how much we eat that makes the difference. I’m not puffy at all, my carbtastic tum has shrunk down to early 2nd trimester-sized and I’m feeling leaner again, less sluggish. Despite feeling pretty unwell this morning. Who knew?!

@emma taylor me too on the cauliflower – weird but good 🙂

    @cornish-jane great post, thank you

@flourbaby cake portions were small for the 160 calories, but as it was seriously rich and yummyyou couldn’t really eat more than a couple….and i served it with extra blackberries… astonishingly few calories tho, i triple-checked I was so surprised! Pls remind me and i’ll be delighted to type up my notes….I adapted a recipe found online bc didn’t have half the stuff, plus added my fave choc ganache. GF vegan chocolate & blackberry cake with rich chocolate ganache and blackberries…

@rainbowsmile how are you doing? Can’t imagine being without a downstairs & kitchen for so long, just after you got your hot water & heating back too… and that followed on from your poor ankle. You’ve certainly been thru the mill this last few months, I hope things clear up very soon. And yay for dancing being back on the menu 🙂 x

@gretta wishing you an amazingly happy wedding day 🙂

@debster251 have a lovely time in Dublin (my DD is there this weekend too!) and wishing you a very happy birthday for Sunday

    Day 16 – Ireland – CD
    Day 17 – NFD

    Day 16 Canada NFD

Super busy day so a quick check in for accountability!

    Day 17, Emden Germany, FD

@at you overestimate my self control, if I don’t really like it, I don’t eat it. Much less self control when it comes to food I like. I had apple pie and lots of biscuits at my friend’s house, no need to eat more.

@dingping hope you slept well tonight and you’re ready for another FD, let’s do it!

    POCKET LIST DAY 17

    @snowflake56

Wishing everyone a great weekend 🙂

    Day 17 UK FD

2nd FD today with @snowflake56 and any others mad to fast on a Saturday, we are as @at would say a small but strong group. Feeling good after another deep sleep.
Made a big decision to abandon a difficult piece of work I volunteered myself for, it seemed impossible to be able to make a difference after spending a lot of time researching. Been feeling stuck in many ways because of it and feel relief at making the decision despite letting someone down. Maybe @emma-taylor’s decisive decision, @fatfingers anxiety/stress interventions and watching @snowflake56 ‘s link with Dan Buettner has had a subliminal impact, wouldn’t have got that without being on this forum, thanks everyone.
Wishing everyone a joyful w’end especially those celebrating and making time with friends and family.

    Day 17 Wales NFD

Saturday fasters have a good FD.

    Day 17, London, UK, NFD

    I’ve had a doughnut …………………………… clearly it’s a NFD!!!!

@emma taylor, I only work a 3 day week, I’m still trying to think of ways of reducing it to 2!!! Like you, I’m lucky enough not to have to do more, so when there’s no incentive, doing the bare minimum is exactly what needs to be done!!!! How would you ever find the time to head to Venice if you have a job anyway?? Definitely the right choice!!!

@fatfingers, is it mean to wish the fat fairy would visit these ‘naturally’ slim people, just for a few weeks and give them a temporary tap on the bum from the fat-wand??? Just temporarily – I wouldn’t wish permanent fatness on anyone ……… been there, done that, got depressed!!!!

@michelinme, I hope you feel better soon, a day in bed is always welcome in my house!!! Don’t worry about the recipe, post a link when you can or your adapted recipe, no hurry. It’s probably a good thing I haven’t got the recipe as it sounds like I may have all of the ingredients but very little willpower!!! I’m dodging a bullet here!!!

The housework beckons, so I think I’ll read just a couple more chapters of my current book!!!! I specialise in avoidance-tactics!!!!

    Onward & Downwards people!!

    Day 17 Canada FD

Going to have an extra FD today just coz it feels right, love this WOL!

@coda I hope everything is OK, we miss you

    Day 17: Gloucestershire, UK: NFD
Turned bright and sunny after a dull and drizzly start, so ok for delivering mail. Got back to the office then threw off another FIVE lots of leaflets for every single house ready for next week. (groan, we all hate them…including the customers!). Took me two hours to do that…..so when you get a pile of leaflets with your mail do NOT throw them in the recyling bin while the postie is looking….got it!
@at: I have days like that….frequently, eat eat, eat..(but without the fasting to make up for it!)….

Hi @flourbaby – you are so right. I thought I would like going back to an admin job cos at one point about 10 years ago I was teaching art ( not very happily – school was a bit odd) three days a week, and doing admin two days a week. I practically skipped to the admin job, I loved it so much. No responsibility, besides doing the job right. I liked the straightforwardness of it, and, tbh, I was glad not to have to deal with a) school bureaucracy, and b) adolescent girls with attitude ( as if there is any other type of adolescent girl). Anyway, I now feel different. And anyway, those foreign places won’t explore themselves. So yippee. I’m free again. Yay.

    Day 17
    2nd post

@dingping if it’s a relief to you, it seems to be the right decision. I can’t express what I want to say to you to comfort you in some way, so I’m sending you virual hugs and I hope you sleep well tonight. x

@missybear thanks for the support, FD went well.

@bellyblast nice to have you with us today!

    Have a nice evening everyone!

    2nd post

@snowflake56 – I really am fine, please don’t worry. I do tend to write stuff that maybe should be reserved for a private journal. I’m really a tough cookie but I admit I have been worn down by stuff lately, but believe I’m coming out the other side. This year has been a year of learning about myself but mostly about others. My big thing is guilt, I’m not very good at not feeling it, silly I know at 50+ but I realised that I can’t live my life like that anymore. The chatter on here and your link just made me realise I need to be honest with myself and do what’s going to bring me fulfilment. In mid life crisis mode but taking a grip of life and shedding a lot of the old me not just in pounds! We never stop growing up. You are a very caring and supportive person and I have benefited from your generous compassionate spirit and perfectly timed kind words. I’m sorry for worrying you but honestly I’m fine and have had a liberated feeling all day. Thank you for your concern and your hugs, very welcome and much appreciated, thanks for being here. X

    Day 17 USA (Illinois) NFD

Was up early for the last rehearsal before our concert tomorrow. Lunch at fast food – just had a chicken sandwich removing the top bun, but I did eat the French fries (chips). Don’t eat them often, but saw them as a treat.

@coda – missing you here. Hope your family life is much better.

Doing some prep work for the Thanksgiving trip to Utah next week – fly on Tuesday. It will be good to be with family!

    Onward and downward.

    Day 17 UK nfd

Laptop harddrive possibly corrupted so down to phone 🙁 and backup laptop not powering up at all, despite being fine last week 🙁 🙁

Overslept this morning – Woke at the time i was due to start in town, 2 hours after the alarm! Clearly needed it after viral 48hrs. So glad to make reasonably gentle Start to day and squish in yoga and shower before leaving, which set up better head to go with the flow.

Both activities went well – really helpful community gathering, then interesting conversations at the afternoon meeting.Amazingly good, considering grumpy tired buggy self of yesterday!

And didn’t eat my way through the day despite offers of pastries, cakes, sandwiches and biscuits at both events! Had some fruit and an egg, then came home and had sweet potato with vegan mince and mushroom sauce, an egg, tomatoes, peas, yogurt, nuts and cacao.

Made 4 rolls rather than weekly loaf- hopefully this means ill eat 75% less bread. Had one to test them but so full BC ate large supper first so no chance I’ll be tempted to eat any more!

Tomorrow I’ve got an evening social, reunion of an old group of friends. It’s pizza gathering, and they’ve made special arrangements for gluten-free pizza, so don’t feel able to skip it even tho would never normally eat it. Too bready for me these days. And not helpful the day before a fast Day. O well.

Hope you are all having a good weekend, whatever it holds x

    Day 17 Ohio, US FD(#29)
    Day 16 NFD

The NFD yesterday culminated in a big splurge, so today needed to be a FD. It appears that this week is a 4:3. The stress at work was so extreme that I was totally wiped out by the end of the week, so I didn’t make the best food choices. With this third FD, things will balance out.

@snowflake56 Not sure how we’ll treat the colitis — haven’t heard back from the vet yet about the endoscopy.

@at Thanks for the good wishes for the pup. Today everything was okay and he had a good day.

@songbirdme Hope your concert goes well! Participating in music is one of the best experiences one can have!

    Day 18, Emden Germany, NFD

@debster251 Happy Birthday, enjoy you day and get spoilt!

@songbirdme good luck with the concert today!

@michelinme have fun meeting up with old friends, just enjoy the company!

@dingping “I’m sorry for worrying you”, don’t feel sorry! The good thing about this forum is we only know eachother virtually, not in person, it’s a safe place to be. We all need to talk about what worries us from time to time and the ones closest to us aren’t always the best ones to give advice. I think it’s good to write down our thoughts and worries here and read the reactions from others on them. Our minds can be so clouded, it’s sometimes hard to see through. Answers from others can give us a possiblilty to think things over and see things from another perspective. What I got out of the Blue Zones’ link is that what we should work on is our happiness. It’s so important for our wellbeing and it affects the wellbeing of the ones around us. The problem with guilt is that you can’t change the past and one often feels guilty about things others have already forgotten because it wasn’t that important to them. There also is something like forgiveness, if you harm someone, you can be forgiven. If someone chooses to be angry about things that happened in the past and isn’t able to forgive, it is the way it is. Angryness and feeling guilty don’t help anyone and just make us unhappy. So don’t worry about writing whatever you feel, it can be a relief to ventilate and although it doesn’t change the situation immediately, it could be possible there will be a small shift in the way you feel so I think it’s worth it. Hugs and enjoy your day!

    Have a nice Sunday everyone!

    Day 18, London, UK, NFD

    Mornin’all!!

Aiming to stay controlled today, in oreder to maintain the successes of last weeks FDs. I’ll try to keep busy with housework (Epic fail yeterday!) and visiting my mum later.

It’s a typically beautiful winters’ day here, sunny, crisp & cold…………. Winter is definitely here!! Boo-Hoo!!

    Onward & downwards people!!

    DAY 18 – UK – NFD

It’s my fast day tomorrow so intend to have low carb, low sugar, high protein today in preparation.

My weight is still up down up down. Down by a lb again today, but overall since I came to this site it’s up by a couple of lbs. I’ve started to log everything via MyFitnessPal. It doesn’t show I’m over eating. I do have slow transit, and have previously had a bowel resection due to perforation. I’m also coeliac (I’m one of the small % that it doesn’t cause weight loss, it just causes further damage) It’s all such a mess in there.

I need to get my weight down for health reasons such as blood pressure and sugar levels. Also recently my bloods have showed my thyroid function is slightly out of whack. GP to monitor via further blood tests down the line but no treatment given yet.

I’m determined to stick with this woe as it doable. It just seems unfair that I put the effort in and don’t get the results. Although I turn this thought round and try to imagine how much bigger I’d be without this woe.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday … as I’m typing I can hear the Church bells peel.

    Day 18, Gozo, Malta, nfd

Last Friday was my son s lucky birthday and we celebrated his birthday with a surprise birthday party. I asked my son s best friend and his mother to help me in this. So Friday evening my son asked me to prepare his dinner as he had eaten out for lit. I told him I was going out for a Eucharistic meeting and it was better for him to eat out. He didn’t like it and I should have prepared something for him especially since it was his birthday as I told him we’ll celebrate it on Sunday ie today. My pregnant daughter persuaded my son to eat out and drove him to his friend s house. We all met at a restaurant together with a dozen of his friends and had a lovely party. My son came and apologized for his behayeaier on.

Yesterday was a nfd also. I’m constantly snacking and mean to start fasting tomorrow.

Have a great Sunday everyone. Onwards and downwards.

    Day 18: Gloucestershire, UK: NFD
Drove over to Hampshire to meet up for lunch with old friends who also met up with our daughter at the same time.
    Another “goodbye” meeting.
Not much more than a month now before DD flies off to Australia for (at least) three years with her new job. She casually said today that her visa actually lasts for four years, with the option of permanent residence being granted afterwards…
    oh….

    Day 18, UK, NFD

Sorry I haven’t been posted, I tried keeping up with all the posts though. I’ve been on this plateau for a while now and I don’t seem to be able to get off it. I don’t seem to be able to have a decent FD either, so its not really surprising. I will keep trying …..
Tomorrow is a new day and another attempt at FD ….

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹

    Day 18 – UK – CD
    Day 17 – NFD 🍷😈

Busy day yesterday volunteering running a cafe for a local craft fair – it was also our village xmas lights and fireworks night – the place was just heaving!!!!!!!!!
Watched the fireworks with a glass of bubbly before cleaning up and closing up then home for a lovely hot shower and a couple of glasses of red with dinner, not an EFS day but definitely over TDEE….

Only managed 4🍷:3 with regards to 🍷this past week – aiming to do better next week 😇

Today started off with a brisk walk/jog with a friend nearly 10km covered followed by a light lunch then some housework and a healthy light dinner making it a lovely CD to set me up for tomorrow’s FD

@gretta – I’m sure you had a fab day for your wedding and that you had a ball xx
@debster251 – Happy birthday for today – hope you had a brilliant day
@ciren2 – you will get back on that fasting wagon I have no doubt – stick with us and we will pull you back on board that wagon when you are ready to make the jump and a big 🤗for you re your daughter’s imminent travels
@dingping and @snowflake56 – reading your posts shows how caring we are of each other 🤗
@anna6 – so difficult to arrange a surprise for children – how lovely though that your son apologised for his earlier behaviour

Lots of exercise planned for tomorrow – early morning Broga class – Pilates in the afternoon and Yoga in the evening – should keep me focused on that FD.

So I’m starting tomorrow’s Pocket List early so that I go to bed tonight motivated………..

    Day 19 Pocket List
    @at

DREAM IT. WISH IT. DO IT.

    Day 19 – Ireland – NFD
Fabulous weather this weekend so have been out and about on my bike. Last long spin of the year possibly as cold weather is forecast…
Wishing everyone a good week ahead.

    Day 18 Minnesota, USA NFD
    Day 17 NFD

Well, I really need to do 3 FDs this week, as I had only one really good FD this past week. All days except yesterday were under my BMR, so that should help. Yesterday was over TDEE. Planning on tomorrow as a FD. So busy this weekend! I had not planned on any of the stuff that happened this weekend to thwart my plans of a FD. So it goes! I have to fast an additional day, is all.

I feel like it’s a good thing that I weigh daily; because if I only weighed on Friday’s I would be despondent by now. I can go up easily 3-4 lbs, (2.2Kg) a week if you only look at one day (Friday) of the week.

At least weighing daily allows for the big 3-4 lb swings that can occur over a couple days, and even them out to show a downward trend. Thursday, I was 153.8 lbs, and today I was 157. I ate a lot of carbs and fiber yesterday, and much was salty. I’m pretty sure by the end of the week I’ll be closer to 154, my goal…unless I go way overboard at Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday.

Hey, @songbirdme…. I’ll be watching the Vikings vs Bears game with some popcorn. It’s why I can’t claim the day as a FD. How about you?

Best of luck to everyone. Onwards and Downwards. Stay strong and determined and remember how great those loose clothes feel!

Day 18. London . UK FD
Trying to undo the Italian carb fest. Hope everybody had a good weekend. Does anybody fancy trying to do a liquid fast day with me today?
    Day 19 pocket list
    @at
    @emma-taylor

@snowflake56 – feeling fine many thanks again. I can find anything to feel guilty about, I’m the person who apologises to the person who bumps into me and then blames myself for being in their way! Old habits are hard to break….

Hope everyone had a good w’end and are ready for the penultimate week of November, crikey Christmas next!
Best wishes to all for a productive and successful week.
    Ta x

    Day 18 Canada NFD

A great weekend with an extra FD and lots of exercise!
I am finding that if I do a good job on lunch the rest of the day is a whole lot better eating wise.
Yikes where has this month gone!
Onwards and best wishes to all:)

    Day 19 – Japan – WFD (#83 in 2018)

@bellyblast – that is what I need … lots of exercise! Good for you.

Day 18 – Eastern WA USA – NFD

Got back home from Canada a little after sunset. Good to see my folks. Mom is in another level of care in another building on the same campus my dad is. It is difficult for him to leave her there and go back to the little apartment they had shared, but the care is better than the hospital across the street. One of the care workers mentioned that she thought Mom had begun improving since being with them in the new place. They’re helping her use her muscles, getting her dressed every day… Not perfect but better. I’m glad. Eating wise, maybe I’ll give myself a B. The main off plan eating happened at my brother’s place, where he surprised us with waffle feed as their first guests in their new home. I hadn’t had grains or sugar for a while. I didn’t stuff myself but did indulge. I felt okay this morning surprisingly and made today a 18:6 I believe.

@anna6 – I’m glad you were able to surprise your son. It can be a challenge sometimes. He sounds like a sweet son.

Joining in early as well for the FD tomorrow. will make it a liquid one @emma-taylor

    Day 18 USA (Illinois) NFD

Concert went wonderfully this afternoon!! The house was overflowing with very energetic audience members. I was oh so happy. Then went out for supper (and Merlot) with choir members. Had a nice salad and some pizza.

@northerndawn – yes, home now watching our Bears play pretty well so far. It is just such a change of pattern from our teams of late! We have it a bit colder than Soldier’s Field, only about 20′ F. here. Guess we can both be united against those nasty Packers!

@anna6 – what makes up a “lucky birthday?” I wonder if it is like what we call a “golden birthday” when the date is the same as your number of years?

Plenty tired tonight — until tomorrow.
    Onward and downward.

Day 18 Ohio, US — NFD

An okay NFD — kept within the TDEE. It was a pretty slow day, definitely a recovery day. Since I have the next week off, I mostly slept today.

    @songbirdme Congrats on your concert!

@bellyblast I can echo what @dykask‘s sentiments —- exercise is also what I need.

    Day 19, Cornwall UK, FD

Here we go again. Another FD and hopefully a 4:3🍷 week. Only managed 3 dry days last week but happy to celebrate those!

Weight exactly the same from a week ago at 71.6kg and just 0.2kg off healthy BMI25 target. Its proving v difficult to hit this target and its taking months! I did get a cm off the waist.

@ciren2 – yeah – the leaflets go straight from front door to bin. The only exception are Waitose money-off vouchers! Being a postie sounds like a very active job. Do you find it helps keep you fit/trim or do you just want to eat and sit more when you get home?!

    Day 19, Emden Germany, NFD

way to many sweets yesterday, don’t want to do 3 FDs a week, so I’ll even it out on the other days.

@annemarilyn pleased to hear your mother is a bit better, every little bit better is a small step up.

    @songbirdme enjoy your success!

@dingping oh man, old habits, you’re great at making life hard on yourself!

@beedoo missing you, are you still with us?

Lots of activities planned for today, time to get started. Good luck to all the Monday fasters!

    Have a nice day everyone!

I hope I wrote the Pocket list correctly. I can’t copy & paste on my tablet and have to scroll up and down.

    Wishing everyone a good week.

    Day 19 UK FD

    Day 19 UK NFD

Did I need a second helping of apple crumble!

BP up yesterday after not checking for a month or more but has coincided with anxious period and zero purposeful exercise. Going to get my 10,000 steps in, DD has dug out her Fitbit as well so we can challenge ourselves.
Decided to not weigh myself until January 1st, going to trust the process.

@anna6 – I wondered also what makes a ‘lucky’ birthday? Surprises can be hard to organise!

@judyjudes – that does seem unfair, all your sterling efforts not being rewarded with weight loss. Do you have to follow a special diet other than gluten free to help your gut health? Also have you been measuring yourself as inches can disappear when pounds don’t? Stick with it and trust the process. Good luck.

@snowflake56 – sorry is my default setting!!!! Good luck balancing things out.

    @songbirdme – sounds a wonderful happy time.

@ciren2 – can feel you counting down the days, stay strong x

@annemarilyn – a ‘waffle feed’ is that a housewarming tradition?
Pleased to hear your mum is brighter, visits can come with mixed emotions sometimes.
We visited an elderly uncle last w’end who has Alzheimer’s, our visit was upsetting for all as he was in a twilight zone of being quite lucid and recognised us but knowing things weren’t right but not having enough cognitive capacity to work things out. Heartbreaking for all.

@at – you have finely tuned this WOL perfect for you. Learning from the master, dream, wish, do, dream, wish, do….

    Good Luck Monday Fasters
    Have a nice day all.
    Ta x

    Day 19 Wales FD

Went well over TDEE yesterday so I had been pondering doing my first ever water fast day today……and then I saw that @emma-taylor and @annemarilyn are doing a liquid fast day so that’s decided it…….just water, black coffee and herbal tea for me today.
