Newbie introduction

  • Hi everyone,
    I started my 5:2 this week, my first fasting day was Tuesday which went ok, wasn’t the best idea to start the day off with a spin class though as it increased my hunger! I have found these forums helpful for inspiration, I used my calories on day 1 on porridge and soup and a green smoothie, I am looking at adding protein for my next faSt day (Saturday) I’ve prepared some tomato soup and am actually looking forward to day 2! Only thing I’m confused about is if I can have irregular fast days, I work shifts so 1 week I may fast on Tuesday and Friday and the next week maybe Monday and Thursday, would that matter? I’m generally a healthy eater but have found today a struggle because I keep thinking ‘I’m entitled to this cake because I’m fasting 2 days a week’ which I’m hoping is a novelty and will wear off! Anyway, that’s all really! Hello

    Congrats on your 1st successful fd.
    It has been a year since I read the book but I believe the days don’t matter. That was one of the things Dr M liked about 5:2: flexibility to work in the real world.
    Near as I can tell from trolling the forums, the “I’m entitled to cake” feeling goes away for some and not for others. Good luck in this new way of life!
