  • Hi this is my first time dieting and my very first fasting day! Have to say I have been very hungry all day!! Think I went wrong and had a low calorie ready meal at luch time, I only have 175 calories left of my 500! I am new to calorie counting and dont know whats in what, don’t want to exceed my calories today so any ideas for dinner tonight? Thanks

    Hi Mindy –
Don’t know how much help I can be as this is only my third week…but when I have blown most of my calories in the morning, I have just done either a HUGE salad with minimal dressing in the evening, or a giant veggie stir fry. I tend to lean toward the stir fry because for some reason, it feels more substantive to me – maybe cause it’s warm and for some reason it makes me feel like I’m getting away with something? I don’t know. But in any case, it does tend to be filling. I try to wait as late as possible to eat. When I’ve done that, I’ve found that I am really hungry when I sit down to dig in, but once I’ve had a few bites, I feel pretty satisfied. Hope that helps a bit!

Hi Mindy and welcome to the forum!

Well done on your first fast, as you do more fasts you wil get used to plan in advance and know your calories lol!
I suggest maybe a few ryvitas with some lean ham, and sald of you have some?

Hang in there and you’ll be fine xx

Don’t know if you have stevia extract over there (I’m across the pond) – but I find that putting just a wee bit of that in some peppermint tea takes care of my sugar craving late in the day…

One of my favorite fast day dinners or lunches is miso soup with a few veggies, maybe a couple of shrimp, and shiritaki noodles. Very filling for very few calories!

Thanks for all your support and advice everyone, I have discovered that diet coke helps with the sweet craving and with hunger too!
